Do you belong to MFP secretly?

I tell everyone! Mostly because I want to share what an AWESOME thing MFP is
Me too!
Best wishes! :flowerforyou:0 -
My wife knows, but my girlfriend doesn't .
LOL...
I don't share with everyone but if asked I tell.0 -
My brother is on here, in fact he told me about it. I have to watch what I say since he sees everything (hi bro!)0

I kept it from my significant other until I figured out I could track by scanning barcodes. Now it's no longer a secret but I guess it helps that he wants to know what he's eating too. I also told one of my best friends after she asked what I was doing to keep me one track. Besides that people kno I'm using things to lose weight but don't know what. They ask about foods and water and exercise all the time but they aren't quite there to "change" their lifestyle (not just for the summer) so I'll let them keep doing what they are doing and I'll keep doing what I'm doing.0

i am anonymous.0

Not secretly at all. My sister is on here too and my mom and stepdad just made accounts a few days ago! they're all on my friends list. My friends know I use this site (they don't know my username though) and my fiance knows I'm on here because I talk about it all the time and I'm on here off and on all day! lol0

Husband and family know mostly. Only place I don't talk about fitness and nutrition is at work, I just don't want to get into it, it's my thing, and I don't feel like sharing with people who don't understand0

Both my best friend & my husband are on MFP to track cals & weight but neither one of them use the forums. I have a few other online friends that are here. So no, I don't use it in secret0
-
I met my husband on here so he definitely knows....
Then I had to tell people how I met him so family and friends know now too....
And then anyone who asks what I'm doing to get healthy gets told about it as well.0 -
At first yes. But now its all I talk about and ask others to join too but its always 'nahh that's too much dedication I don't have time/am too lazy' meh. It was worth a shot.0

I told my family and I wish I hadn't. Most of my family is overweight and they don't care. When I am logging my food, checking nutrutional value for a restaurant or weighing my food; they always tell me, "girl don't do all that just eat or I'll just stick to enjoying my food". I tried to get my mom to join because she is overweight but she is procrastinating. My only support is myself and MFP users. I told one friend and she ridiculed me on facebook and to my face SO I tell no one else. I AM PROUD TO DO IT ON MY ON0

Only 1 person knows that I am on this site and trying to lose weight. I have a very negative family and I only trust one person to really support me in my family. I even made a secret FB account so that way I can get my friends that are on here to see all the pics that I post with my phone that I can't post on here0

I've told everyone! I have a weight loss blog that I link to on Facebook all the time and also given out my username in statuses all the time. I have tried "secretly" dieting before and it never worked because no one was there to encourage me or hold me accountable. Now that I know that there are people who are proud of me and cheering me on from the side lines I have more motivation to stick with it. I also love encouraging my friends who use MFP and it gives us something else in common! Also gets you to go grocery shopping with a health conscious friend who will scream, "RUN!!" when you pass by the cookies0

"My wife knows, but my girlfriend doesn't "
i hope you're kidding0 -
Some people know, most just look at me weird when I'm scanning food labels with my phone HA! My family is very supportive for the most part, there are a handful of people who are actually telling me I will fail (wtf?!), and there are some who don't know only because they're anti-diet and don't believe me when I say I am changing my LIFESTYLE not going on some freak diet!0
-
It's astonishing how many of you have negative and unsupportive families. I'm thankful that almost everyone I know is rooting me on.0

i kept it a secret for a long time. But now, y'all are so darn interesting, I catch myself telling my friends about you!0

My wife and I started doing this together, but I kept it a secret to everyone else for the first 3 months. Unfortunately, we filed for divorce in January and a lot of people started noticing in February that I had shed pounds. I have had to reassure them that I started this before getting divorced and that I am making minor changes.
Personally, I don't think a lot of people believe me, but I could care less. I wanted to keep working at the goal of being healthier, that I have had for years, but never really started at it. This also gave me something positive to work on in the sea of darkness.
I have to say that with all of the turbulence, I added a secondary goal that I have had since college, and that is to run a marathon. As if it was meant to be, there is one on my 32nd birthday, near by, that I have plucked down the registration money for and in mid-June I start the 16 weeks of training for.
The weirdest thing that started this week is that I am starting to hear the... 'You're fine, you're already skinny enough', etc. Which is weird. I really want to get to my goal weight (as advised by my doctor) so that I can level out and stop hearing this. I also figured that 175 would be a good marathon running weight for a 6'1", male.
Oh, last thought: I have told those who ask what I am doing and I show them the app on the phone and how the database has a ton of food in it that makes tracking easy. So far, I am unaware of anyone else signing up.0 -

I think this every time I'm in the forums! I'm so grateful to be blessed.0 -
Most of the people I know WISH I would keep it to myself.0
-
I don't tell my friends because they're pretty judgey about calorie counting. But my boyfriend knows and supports me! So its all good0
-
yes, i never told anyone and my familly have no idea what i'm going through0
-
I've been trying to recruit all my friends and family to join with me! Reason - accountability! Plus it's helped me so much, I want everyone else to reap the benefits as well
YES ACCOUNTABILITY! I have had my friends join and it motivates me that they are seeing my progress!0 -
Most of the people I know WISH I would keep it to myself.
hahahah! I'm sure people get sick of me!0 -
when i first started no one knew. but then when i was whipping my phone out at every meal to log it became kind of obvious. haha.
my immediate family knows about it and has no problem with me logging, etc, as they have seen my results.
my friends know i use the site to track my food/exercise, but i dont usually log in front of them or anything.0 -
My husband knows I speak to people on a forum about exercise and healthy diet stuff- thats all though0
-
My husband does know that I use MFP to log calories and exercise but he does not know that it is a social network for people changing their lifestyles my mother on the other hand knows and so do my kids. Guess I haven't told husband yet cause he didn't like when I had a myspace or a facebook but I will not stay away from MFP its working for me the other sites fb and myspace didn't do nothing but cause dumb problems. So he knows just doesn't know its a social0
