I only have 2 small tattoos, one on my ankle and one on my foot. But I have fell in love with this tattoo that says love and has a heart around it, doesn't sound too cool but it is super cute. On the picture the girl has it on her wrist. I think it is incredibly cute and want to get one too but a few people have told me "it looks trashy to have a tattoo on your wrist" Now I know I am not supposed to care what people think but I also work for the local school system ( not at a school but a satellite office) and don't want it affect my job. Opinions?

Don't worry about what others think! If you get it and want to cover it there's an awesome product called dermablend that covers tattoos. It's great for jobs :-)0

Tattoos are personal. Who cares what other people say?0

It is not trashy in my opinion.0

Nope, don't think they're trashy at all.
But what is trashy to one person, isn't trashy to another. it's all relative!
I have all my tats planned out for when i stop breastfeeding, and my wrist is one of them.
You should just get whatever you like, wherever you like!0 -
Not trashy!! I'm getting a quote on my wrist so that I can see it all the time and remember it. Good place!
And if you want to cover it up, just wear a thick bracelet lol0 -
If you're going to be concerned with what others think, a visible tattoo, like one on your wrist, my not be a good thing for you.0

If you really like it, but are worried about it at your job - cover it at work. If it is inside the wrist, most people won't be able to see it anyway.0

I have a tattoo on my outer left wrist and one on my inner right wrist - couldnt give a damn what anyone else thinks of them - they represent things in my life so b*lls to anyone else!!0

I have small music notes on my right wrist and I've only gotten compliments. I work at a university and never cover it.0
-
Definitely not trashy. However, keep in mind future employers may want you to conceal your tattoo while at work.0

I think all tats are ugly...I don't think ink looks good on the body, anywhere!!0

I have a tattoo on the inside of my wrist that is about 3inches in diameter. I have a very professional job where I am meeting with clients on a daily basis and have never had an issue. In all honesty, most people do not even notice it. Some familiy members, who are around me constantly, took almost 2-3 years before even noticing that i had it!0

i dont think its trashy at all. my best friend has one on her wrist, its a really cute place to get a tattoo. hers is small, so you really cant notice it unless she points it out (i mean how much time do you spend staring at someones wrists? lol)0

Get it. If you love it, and you want it on your body, more power to you!!!!
I get compliments on my tats all the time and people said the same things before I got them done. It's just someone's opinion...and it's invalid.0 -
tattoos don't look trashy on any part of your body.0

Just a side note: The whole "Love" tattoos on your wrist has kind of started to be a release for those that are cutters. Find a unique way to do it.0

My wife's wrist tattoos are not trashy at all. In fact, I think they're very attractive.0

I LOVE my wrist tattoo!
I don't think it looks trashy at all, and no one has ever told me that they think it does, either.0 -
Is it going to fit in with the life you see for your self in the future?
I mean it really doesn't matter what other think...it's what you think...but it does matter if you plan on getting a job or doing something that would hinder you because of the placement of a tattoo. So think about that before hand and don't worry about the rest:)
Btw I have 60 -
If they are, I'm trashy as hell!
I have "Believe" on the inside of my right wrist. Honestly, no one hardly ever sees it unless we're talking in close proximity and I'm using my hands to gesture.0 -
nope0

I have tattoos on each of my wrist... I dont care what people think of me lol I also have blue hair, but thats besides the point. HOWEVER i do get some looks from the older generation. But my tattoos are very personal and I dont give a F*** about what others think. If its going to make you happy DO IT!! :happy:0

Tattoos are a very personal choice.
I have none but I have a decent amount of friends and acquaintances who have tattoos. What seems to be the consensus is that the younger people who get tattoos are very proud and happy with how they have "expressed" themselves. While the over 40 crowd (like me) see them in the mirror every day and think about how they are permanent and perhaps not the best choice they have made in life!
So, a tattoo on your wrist is not "trashy" ! But it is a place on your body that is public! And will be seen by everyone pretty much all the time. If you really want this particular tattoo? Perhaps on a shoulder? On a calf? Behind your ear (under your hair)?
This way, you have the tattoo and have expressed yourself, but you do not have this on a continuous display. Where, people may judge you based upon seeing the tattoo before getting to know you! Perhaps this not an issue if you are young, but unfortunately, as you get older, you will see/encounter more and more of this type of prejudice.
All the best!
And, enjoy what ever choice you make!0 -
I had a great job when I got mine, and got laid off, and got another perfectly great job after that. I wouldn't worry about it. Mine is "never again" in latin, with my starting weight in roman numerals, reminding me that I will NEVER go back there.

I personally find wrist tattoos attractive and never gave it 2 thoughts until I was showing a co-worker what I wanted and was asking about what to get on the other wrist and then I received a bunch of "looks" and the convo began. I agree, who cares it is my body and I can do what I want to it. I was just curious how "judged" I would be.0

I have one on my inner wrist, not many people notice it really. I am an RN so am aware of the whole professional thing, I really want a big one on my inner forearm but am not sure how it would go down with work. Not trashy at all in fact am adding a new wrist tatt in the next couple of months0

LOL I guess 'trashy' is in the eye of the beholder. My daughter has her boyfriend's name around her wrist. Course, I can take it or leave it but SHE likes it0

I like mine!!
