.koo-koo.gif The FAB FOURS are a new group, who join together to do FOUR week challenges! Everyone is welcome at anytime. Jump right in, and tell us a little about yourself! We'd love to meet you.
l_daisy.gif

Our first challenge begins on Tuesday, December 8th, initial weigh in, and it will continue until January 5th, 2010. This will take us through the challenging Christmas and New Year's seasons. We can help each other navigate the candy, cookies and parties! And possibly, the foul weather. Are you with us for four weeks?

We set our goals based on the weight we each want to lose within the next four weeks. It can be any number you choose, for it's YOUR goal. We are here to encourage you!

We officially weigh in every Tuesday. We provide accountability and support, and we'd love to have you join us! Interested?

    Hi Tamara & Pollart!
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm excited to start a challenge. Tamara, your success is amazing! You'll have to teach us.
Maybe we could spend this week getting to know each other, and bring a new group together. What do you think?
I did okay over Thanksgiving, but I'm going to need help over Christmas (cookies, caramels, and party mix). Yikes!

I'm in and I also think we should "have" to post everyday (if not every other day) about our day, things like what we ate, what we did for exercise, our attitudes, our gratitudes etc; etc;! I think it will motivate us and make us be more accountable! What do you girls think? Next week!!!

Hi Verda, Welcome to this new thread! I agree that posting every day not only helps us stay accountable, but it also makes the thread much more interesting (and we get to know each other, too), which is much better than just checking in only to report our weight on Tuesdays. I highly recommend checking in daily. What does every one else think?

Hi, I want to join the challenge. What should I do?
    Thanks!
  • I would love to join!!! Here is a little about myself.
I have a 6 wk old baby boy who has changed my life dramatically. For the good of course. Before I got pregnant I was in the best shape I had ever been in, but now I'm trying hard to work back to that. When I went into labor 6 wks ago I was at 192-193, but now I've gotten done to about 171. I am motivated to get back into shape and feel confident in myself, but a little help and motivation from the group would be awesome to have. Let me know how to participate and have a wonderful day!

Hi k1 and brit. Welcome to our group! :flowerforyou:

I'm excited for this challenge. I know I can commit to this for four weeks. It feels like we're entering a land mine area, with the holidays quickly approaching, but we can help each other navigate a safe path. I would feel so proud to show a loss between now and Jan. 5th.

About me, I'm from Oregon, and I am a mom of four daughters and still happily married to my high school sweetheart. My oldest daughter is a commercial banker (with a toddling daughter & hubby), the next is a kindergarten teacher (with a baby girl & hubby), the last two are still in college (a few hours away from home). Being a grandma is a blast! I went back to graduate school in my 40s, and I then worked in commercial real estate banking for awhile. You'll see that I like numbers, so it's fun for me to keep track of everyone's weight loss progress. Let me know if it gets out of hand!

Ok! I am ready to go! I am so excited about this 4 week challenge!

I keep telling myself.. "I CAN DO THIS!"

I only have mini goal that I am focusing on right now and that is 10lbs down by Christmas.
I like this 4 week idea because it will get me past that goal so I don't just stop there!!!

    A little about me -

I am a 23yr old step mother to 2 wonderful boys. They are 6 and 11 and although I am not thier paternal mother, I love them just as much! As you can guess, my husband is older then me, 10 yrs in fact, but you wouldn't know it. We are on the same wave length!
I didnt start gaining weight until I got my first car when I was 16. Before that I rode my bike all across town. Lucky me, the weight gain was just in time for graduation and i graduated at 170. I was up to 280 when I met my husband. I immediately lost 40lbs on a diet he created and had previously lost 100lbs on. He has since in the past 2 yrs gained 50 of it back.

So we are on here together trying to figure this out. Trying to find a way to make it work. We would like to have a child together at some point, but I think health is our main concern right now.

Be ready for me! I am firey and have a lot of silly tendencies. I have moments of depression from the pain my weight puts me through but I snap right back with a little help! I am looking forward to becoming friends and family with all of you!

Hey slightingscale, the group is growing!!! Looks fun and I hope EVERYONE is ready to post daily!!!
Hello my name is Verda and I am a food aholic, not really but pretty darn close! I eat over everything but then I turn around and work my butt off so I won't gain! I am a wife of just about thirty years, have two single son's and one three year old grandson, I live in beautiful Montana on a very large farm where work is endless! MFP has been the best for me! I wish for the next four weeks to lose a few but most importantly to maintain! I am in pretty good shape for a fifty year old and I will try any fitness workout at least once and if I like it, it goes into my routines on a regular basis! I will post my exercise everyday and I will challenge each one to do the same! Best wishes Frs (Fab Fours)!

This is an example of what our posting summary might look like:

Unfortunately this website doesn't allow us to post directly into a chart, but I can take the info and post it as a chart.
  • I want to join too! I have lost 35 pounds since August 10th and am aiming for 15 more by January! I teach elementary school online from home, so getting out in the cold and exercising gets a little harder this time of year. I have two little boys - 8 and 2 and a super husband who all keep me busy in my spare time (lol)!

This group sounds amazing and there are so many of you that have had great success! :) Looking forward to the challenge!

  • I'm in! My friend jitteryspork told me about this website and I joined a few days ago. Since then, I stay logged in all day and keep track of everything I do and eat. I am excited to have others share my journey and help others get through theirs.

My name is Rose, I am 25, crazy in love married for almost 7 years and we have 2 boys, ages 4 and 5. When I got married, I was 121 lbs and 2 kids and 7 years later I'm 187. I would like to get down to 150 and I think this challenge will help me jump start the weight loss with extra motivation and I look forward to motivating all of you along our journey to a slimmer and healthier lifestyle.

    Good luck to everyone!

HI! I absolutely LOVE all the colors! You remind me of Rainbow Bright

I am not a cook, but I am trying to learn so that I can give my husband a break every once in a while. He loves to cook, but I am sure he'd love to be served too! I am looking forward to trying out any recipes you have to offer!!!!!

    Welcome!

I think posting at least every other day would be great. I am a talker so I have no problem with sharing my days events with you. It also will give me a good reason to get on and remind myself of all the other people backing me on this challenge!
  • I would love to join you in this group if there is still room! I joined My Fitness Pal on Monday and have been seeking a group to hang with ever since. This one sounds like just the ticket!

A couple of years ago, after diligent eating and daily workouts, I lost 38 lbs in a quest to lose 55 lbs. ... well, after some stressful times with my business, etc. (we all have our stress stories), it crept back on. I closed my publishing business earlier this year and joined a wonderful company, trading bad stress for the excitement of new stress! Although I can say I am thrilled and challenged and very happy here in the new job, it does require a lot of travel which just zapped my on-again, off-again diet. So I've been losing and gaining back weight. I'm establishing an exercise club here at the office with other sales reps (more on that later), and re-focusing on myself and nutrition.

    My goal is 57 pounds.

I joined this site after much research and frankly, a gut feel (no pun intended) that it was the perfect spot for me to land each day to monitor my food and exercise. Can't wait to get started on this challenge with y'all!

Hi Cherlou! I think this is going to be a great adventure for us all. I looked and looked for quite a while for a challenge group that wasnt on week 2,3,4,5,6 etc. I wanted to start fresh with a new group! Someone who is just starting a challenge like me. So welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay, with this group, and with MFP! They are fabulous here, and of course, just like every family, we have our crazies :)
  • "They are fabulous here, and of course, just like every family, we have our crazies :)" ... Jitteryspork
