Well although I am up .8 pounds from last week, i consider this a victory. When I weighed myself Saturday morning after my vacation, I weighed 149.8. So with getting back to my exercise routine, drinking lots of water and making much better food choices I was able to shed 3 of the 3.8 pounds that I gained by eating my son-in-laws wonderful food for a week:-) I am off to the gym for a good workout, but I will be back later to comment on your posts. Thanks Kristen for your work and wonderful support!

Good job to everyone that lost this week, even those of us who lost fractions instead of whole pounds. Still going in the right direction.
For awhile now I've been concentrating solely on the eating right part, which is good but I have to get my *kitten* back in the gym.
Doing hot yoga a few times a week isn't going to cut it.. and that's mostly for stress relief anyway.
I've got new tires on my bicycle and I'm ready to get back on it.
On another note:
Anyone else in this challenge use a fitbit?? I'm finding that it really helps me come to terms with how many calories I actually burn in a day and therefore how many i really need to be eating.0 -

I'm not really sure why my weight fluctuated up a bit. Admittedly, I didn't eat very clean with week with all the picnics and parties. But I always ate within my calories and worked out everyday (spin or swimming and 30DS). I've heard some people say they put on a little weight at the beginning of 30DS and then it comes off later. Maybe that's why.0 -

I was hoping for a little bit more but I'm happy with the 1 lb loss, it was a pretty stressful weekend, but I didnt turn to food for comfort, not to say i was tempted though. That in itself, is a victory for me! Thank you everyone for all your well wishes for my Dad!0 -

So no suprise i went up but the damage was not as bad as I thought especially since I got up at 5:00 am and restarted my C25k as i promised myself I would. I am rocking it this week for sure! My son was sick last week (hand, foot, and mouth), and then from Thursday until today, I have been ill (sore throat, dizziness, feet blisters), but will be doing exercise this week, and don't worry, i have been resting, have a 5k on Saturday that I am running so i refuse to let my body say anything less then we need to!!!!!!!!!!! My water intake was up to 5 glasses, when normally i only drink about 3 a day, but what triggered all of my illness to start was drinking water from the faucet that had softener salt in it instead of the actual well water (and once i had too much salt, everything dominoed from there).

It's my 8 month anniversary on MFP, so I have uploaded my latest progress pictures to my profile. I don't really see much difference from my last set but I am down a clothing size so must have just lost it proportionately.
I am off to see Nickelback, Three Days Grace and I Mother Earth in an all day outdoor concert. There will be no access to healthy food but i will be walking a lot so hopefully that will offset the high calorie food. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Good luck with the scales! :drinker:

Who starts a weight loss challenge and gains 2 lbs the first week?!?!? Me, apparently. I'll be honest, this was a really bad week for me. I got the news that a childhood friend of mine was found dead, I'm currently doing the job of 3 people at work (including training a new person), TOM came roaring in mid week and my 2 year old daughter is having surgery tomorrow morning.
So, I'm admitting to making really bad choices, especially towards the end of the week. I'm wanting to put this week behind me and move forward and past this. I really need to learn to not emotionally eat and to use exercise instead of food to help with stress.
So...sorry everyone! I promise to do better this next week!
If you have any good vibes that you can send our way tomomrrow for the surgery, I'd appreciate it!
I hope your babies surgery goes well I am so sorry for your loss. I had a stressful week as well although not nearly as stressful as yours. no need to be embarrassed we will both do better this week and you showed up so that counts as a win.0 -
Congrats to all of those who loss, stayed the same and even if you gained for keeping a positive attitude!!! It is such a struggle to get the lbs off but if you stay motivated and keep around motivational people it helps a little0

(I'm secretly hoping to hit Onederland, but didn't want to set my goal too high, but if i can average 2lbs a week I will get there, so will be ridiculously excited every time I hit 2lbs on my weigh in! It is 2 pounds from Monday to Monday but I can't get very excited about it though, because I have been dancing with a few pounds lost since April. 4/10---208, 6/9---201, 6/29---205, 7/4---202, 7/2---205,7/9---203. I did start here at MFP weighing 212.
This is so frustrating. I am exercising every day, drinking water and have not gone over on my calories. I even recently got a heart rate monitor so I can make sure my exercise is intense! Is there anyone else here that is experiencing the same thing with their weight loss? Going up and down with the same pounds? I’m glad to have found this challenge so I can learn from other’s. I just don’t know what I am doing wrong. Best wishes and much success to all of us here.0 -

I was hovering around the same weight, and playing with the same 2-3 lbs for a couple of months.... hit a total plateau, then gave up, and put back on a total of 8 lbs! I was SO FRUSTRATED!! Anyway, I got back on MFP, and I was so happy to get in this group, I figure it will help keep me honest and think more about sticking to a good diet and ESPECIALLY exercise! My advice is to definately DO NOT give up, keep plugging along. You may want to try mixing up your exercise, sometimes your body gets so used to what you are doing, you get stuck in that plateau.0

This was what I was afraid was going to happen this week. I was at my parents in Seattle last week for weigh in and didn't have my usual summer bloat from the heat in Phoenix. I think their scale weights similar to mine since I weight Tuesday morning after we got back and was just under 186. Then my weight jumped up to 191 as my body freaked out about the heat and slowly came back down. I'll just keep giving it lots and lots of water and see what happens this week. Measurements are next week as well. I'm lookig forward to those as most the clothes I took to my parents were baggy and I'm using the last hole in my belt to keep my pant up.
Congratulations to everyone for making through the first week of the challenge. Remember it is not only about the scale but learning to make better choices and feeling good.0 -

Thoughts and prayers for her surgery. My (now 4 year old) son had surgery at 7 weeks, 9 months and 3 years, and my daughter (now nearly 7) at 18 months and at 3 years. It is scarier for you than it will be for her...I promise. Hugs!0 -

Not a good way to start off this Challenge! Like Gina I am so frustrated with this recent plateau...I've been going up and down the same 2 pounds for the past 4 weeks! I'm going to go back and re-read everyone's post for this week for some motivation and then I am going to look back over my diaries for the past few weeks and see if I can figure out what is wrong.
To everyone that has posted a loss this week...Congratulations, well done! To those that stayed the same...that is almost as good as a loss in my mind. To those, who like me, posted a gain, we will regroup and rock it this week and have a better weigh in next time!
If you are struggling through a plateau...just know that you are not alone. Let's shake things up this week, try different things, and come and post here when we find something that is working for us. More importantly, if you are getting really discouraged and ready to throw in the towel...come here and post and let us help to motivate you.
