Guys who find curvy girls more attractive...

I'm a exotic dancer in Baltimore, MD, and guys here all seem to prefer curvy girls for the most part, out of 45+ girls at my club there are maybe 3-4 VERY thin borderline anorexic girls (Not quite sure who's type that is I think if you weigh 85/90 pounds you belong in the hospital not on the pole at a strip club! Only the pervy old men go after those girls...weird.). Most of use range from 110-165 lbs, all different heights. There are even a few 'plus size' looking girls, but they have smooth nice skin, not dimply etc. Guy's I have meant at work have always said they like me because I have 'thicker' thighs & a butt & small waist. I on the other hand HATE my thighs, the butt I am okay with lol. My husband likes my body curvy. I used to weigh 133 (I'm 5'4) now I am 118, he complained once that that my butt/boobs got smaller, but he knows I am happier at a lower weight so he is supportive. Plus I will ALWAYS be bottom heavy lol big hips/thighs (thanks mom). But I have meant a few guys over the years that liked rail thin girls, but to each their own, I think the best looking girls are curvy but still slender, flat stomach, small-medium chest and hips & decent sized butt. I think the media portrays men only liking super thin fake looking women, and that is not the case. I think confidence and personality are more important. Trust me I work with a few busted strippers but they are confident as hell and they make BANK! lol Men like all kinds of women.0

My super nerdy fiancee met me at 275lbs, stuck with me while I ballooned to over 300lbs.
Nearly 6 years later, I'm down to 190lbs, (I'm 5'7), and he tells me every single day that I'm beautiful and he loves me no matter what.
I think I snared him with my personality and nerdy-ness, rather then what I looked like. Of course, my beautiful face helped :-D0 -
Pretty sure most of them do. My brother is the only guy who has ever told me I was pretty. No... Wait... One other guy did also... So... Two guys in 25 years. I'm speaking from a slender runner, former gymnast, non hourglass, 5'6" 122lbs athletic person perspective. :-)
I've pretty much given up on all that. :-p At some point, it had to stop mattering so much to me. :-p
I think I look awesome. And I feel good... So... Yeah. :-p0 -
I feel so shallow . . . I find curves very, very, sexy. But I think it's just how a lot of us (guys) are and a lot of it has to do with biology and brain sex. Curves mean fertility, etc, which at the end of the day is what drives us all to find a mate if we want kids or not. It's always lurking in the background.
I would say he's with you because of a mix of how you look and who you are. Afterall, I bet he saw you before he talked to you. It doesn't make you any less valuable inside. You're, well, you're just attractive weight loss or no weight loss.
Loose what weight you feel you have to if you like for you, feel good. Please feel good about yourself.
I'm on here becaue I don't think curves are sexy on a guy, namely me. I want more confidence and energy.
^^ Nice response.0 -
My dad and brother both prefer chubby women but most men I know like women who are lean, defined, tone and curvy (but not overweight or needing to lose weight). They like the healthy, in shape girl!0

My bf is like this, he says he needs something to grab on to. He says he loves how I look now but says that he'll probably love me regardless of how much weight I lose though. :blushing:0

I for instance was in a relationship, if you would even call it that... it was on and off for 2 years and after it ended I realised how bad it was for me. Anyway, back on topic, he liked me curvier, fuller figured and when I started losing weight he was not very supportive, in the end he cheated on me, probably several times, but there is one girl I was certain of, he is now in a relationship with her, and she is thin as anything. So, I will never understand what guys want or like, so I have given up trying, lol. I'll just take life how it comes and enjoy it for what it is.0

Guys, what EXACTLY is the kind of preferred body type? What features do you tend to like and dislike?
Preferred? Thin like say Emily Blunt. Like: thin, small breasts. Dislike: short hair.
The *reality* is that 98% of women my age (48) don't have long hair and are not thin, and don't have small breasts. But you said preferred. I'm childfree (which means I don't have or want children) and only 1/6 of women here in New Zealand are not going to have children, so that's something else to consider as well. So a tiny percentage of women are going to be just those three criteria.
The most important of the three criteria (long hair, thin, childfree) is long hair. People are complex, and their desires for their partners are complex as well. As it happens I'm skyping an overweight woman with long hair who has an adult child, so that's only 1 of the three. But that's where personality is important as well, more important than having no children or being thin.0 -
i just realized something! we are not trying to lose are butts and guts for guys at all! we are trying to be smaller for those girls that look at us and think omg she is fat! We want to be accepted by other girls because we want them to envy us instead of judging us! I don't know if this is true for everyone but that seems to be the case. I'm a 34 dd and a size eight paint. I think other girls think size weight is to big for my height of 5ft 1inch but I shouldn't care what other girls think of my jean size. My shoulders and hands and feet are way petite though girls get really jealous of that for some reason. I think as a girl we should do are best to put aside our jealousness and think about what guys think of our curves instead...cause it's almost impossible to get another girls total approval cause there is always that jealous thing going on.... i'm I on track?
I totally get this. When I was at my thinnest (115 pounds), I was that way because I wanted my female friends to be envious of me. I didn't do it for any guy. I did it for the girls so that I would be accepted and envied.
My husband prefers a lush, curvy body type like Christina Hendricks or Jennifer Lopez, as opposed to the thin frames of Keira Knightley or Angelina Jolie. A healthy curvy though, not obese curvy with lots of rolls.
He doesn't find attractive the high fashion/runway model fashion look where the curves are completely gone and the ribs/collar bones are so visible.0 -
My boyfriend doesn't necessarily have a curvy girl fetish nor a fat one but he does find girls who are in the healthy zone a lot more attractive than the stick thin ones.0

I had to chew on this for a couple of days before I responded, lol.
Yes, there are SOME guys out there that like heavier women. But, IMO they are FEW and FAR between. MOST guys do NOT like "fat" chicks. It is one thing to be with/love someone and then they gain weight and another to be attracted to someone heavy to start with.
Me personally I went from 266 lbs to 190 lbs and my husband is EXTATIC! Extatic is an understatement!! His "wet dream" is 5' 100lbs. Don't know how he started with me. I was 165 in the beginning.
So........ even if your bf "prefers" chubby women, if he loves you he will STILL love you if you loose weight. So, do what is best for YOU!!

I love the curvy..but not necessarily fat. There is a difference. Take the word curvey for example. It means curves. Like big curves on the chest and booty, and not as big on the waist (though a little doesn't bother me.) I find that is much more attractive than a tooth pick girl. My fiance started losing a lot of weight last year. Even though I was extremely attracted to her curvy figure, I supported her as long as she didn't lose the goods.0

Oh and keep the hair long ladies.0

i lose weight and focus on how i feel...every guy i've ever been with has always looked around me at all the other pretty colours big and small with appreciation....
I'm going to lose 70 pounds....and this i do for me...0 -
I don't think it's fair to guys to lump them all together and say what is their "normal", any more fair than it is to do that to women in any given circumstance. Every guy is different. When I met my husband, I was my "after" picture (see profile pic). I had E-cups, a 24" waist and 32" hips. Most men ogled the heck out of me (I have no doubt the ta-tas were the draw of the stares). My husband thought I looked fat because he doesn't like big boobs. I had to get a breast reduction for medical reasons, and he found me far more attractive with less curve. His ideal is stick thin and squishy, and he has told me that that is what all guys like. When other men would stare, he'd say it's just because guys assume girls with big boobs are hoes, and they must think I'm easy- but in no way could he fathom that they found me attractive. So your guy says it's normal for guys to like chubbier girls, my guy would call those women cows.0

Curves are what's all about. A girl without curves is just a man.
That is true! :laugh:0 -

I have friends that don't have "curves", I think they look fantastic, certainly not like men.0 -
I dig me some curvy short girls. My woman does it for me in every way0

Word. Audrey Hepburn wasn't curvy. Certainly not manly.0 -
Each guy is different. I know guys who like girls extremely thin, and I know guys who like more curvy woman. I'm curvy, I carry most of my weight on my bottom and thighs and when I lose weight, I hope I keep my curves. Just look at Anowa Adjah. She's sexy!0

Of course, whatever your body type there is someone attracted to that body type. My bf likes his women model thin. He applauds all my efforts to get thinner and more toned. He would never discourage m from going to gym, getting stronger, putting on muscle. He is not attracted to soft and curvy. He loves my body type, which is why he was attracted to me initially. It only makes sense. Everything I do in the gym is for me. If he announced one day that he would like me to be a little softer and curvier, oh well!0

Love the post from the man who said he loves how his wife looked the day he met her, or how she looks today or how she will look tomorrow!!
THAT was the perfect post0 -
Yep there are tons of guys who find curvy and slightly overweight girls more attractive.
My boyfriend loves that I'm "soft" and "cuddly" lol but he supports me in my goal to lose a bit of weight ... of course I do not want to be super skinny or anything. There are lots of girls who pull off the skinny look just fine ... I respect it ... but I am not cut out for it lol.
But I get hit on quite a bit in clubs and bars and even just out on the street. I see lots of girls who I would consider more attractive than myself around and yet for some reason the guys come to me lol, so I presume it is partly the curves :P0 -
My doctor, whom I have known for 20 years and who cares for my husband and daughter as well, is encouraging my weight loss with clear orders to not lose "too much" he prefers women to be curvy and healthy. lol0
-
I like them breathing and with a pulse... unless I'm feeling frisky that day then anything is game!
LOL this made me laugh because my husband would have said something like this.
my husband doesn't have a preference apparently. we had this discussion recently. i was concerned that when i get to my goal weight of 160lbs he may not be attracted to me anymore. he married me when i was 270lbs and i'm now 185lbs. at times through our marriage, i have been worried about whether or not he's attracted to me. his words "i was attracted to you when you were 270lbs. i'm attracted to you now... you are smokin' hot!" lol different strokes for different folks. my husband isn't exactly what some of my friends would typically find attractive, but in my eyes he's a 10!0 -
See, my brain does this weird thing where I associate girls with a bit more meat on them as prime baby making material. However pretty much the range between lean and curvy makes me happy as long as they still have a feminine shape. I've seen plenty of fit women that are by no means chubby or fat.
Naturally my woman with her fantastic hips has me all kinds of excited that she wants to start weight training with me.0 -
My husband likes a curvy girl (around 140-160). I told him my goal weight, and his jaw dropped, but it was better when I told him the boobs were genetic and not going anywhere.
Seriously, my sister lost 100 pounds, was a size 4 pants, and had FF boobs. Mine are down from an LL to an HH. I think more than DD is too much though. I just love fighting nature!0 -
when i first started losing weight my boyfriend was really against it. he loves bigger girls. always has. it kind of confused me and even today i still feel like he must be joking. but he legit says if i'm super skinny one day he'll still think i'm beautiful and will love me still. but like "i'll love you no matter what" is usually a term people use to tell their other half if they're worried of getting too big or becoming disabled or something. before that i assumed guys always wanted the skinnier girl. but there are many guys out there who want the curves and the rolls.
in roman times the chubby look was actually what all the girls wanted to achieve and that was a thing of beauty. so i guess it's not so surprising that many still feel the same way.0 -
Lyrics from a song by a band called the Jolly Rogers:
More than a handful’s wasted well I say that’s just bull
For I have two good hands and they should both be full
If you want my attention well here’s a sure bet
All you need to do is flash me your curvy silhouette
Nothing can compare with the natural curves I love.
Even when I’m sleeping, it’s curvy girls I dream of
Curvy girls are lovely
Curvy girls are great
Curvy girls make me want to master…
My own fate0
