I just found this thread and I'm super excited! I religiously wear my pedometer and I set goals and track my steps daily, weekly and monthly (I'm a bit of a spreadsheet dork). My personal goal for July is to achieve 310,000 steps (average of 10,000/day). I'm behind due to vacation for the first 8 days of the month - but I was burning all sorts of calories while swimming, doing ropes courses, etc, so I don't feel bad about it, just need to get caught up!
As of yesterday, 7/10, I am at 68,714 which means I have ~31k to make up still. I'm hoping to have them made up in the next week or so!0 -

Last few weeks have been so hectic. A lot of days have been spent swimming or taking my great nieces to the lake, so no FitBit!! Getting back on track now though!0 -

Been doing quite well (I think). On average walking a little over 5 miles a day. Not calculating normal day-to-day activities because i consider my body already accustomed to those and think they'd already be included in my BMR calculations. These walks are all done within an hour and half to 2 hours, all completely outside with my dog. We have the inevitable delays due to his moods (and occasional requirement to check out every single mailbox post). Also, if you look at my exercise diary, they are broken up into sections. Some are just as I leave one neighborhood and go into another, I pause and check on my dog- he's a 12 year old Chow/Malamute I've had since he was a baby. He's accustomed to the heat, but I try to take it easy on him because he is not accustomed to the heat combined with exercise. I carry the water for both of us... Been great for my arms lol. He gets so excited when he sees me in exercise clothes. Knows its almost time to go!

I am new to MFP and the message boards... Just put my pedometer back on today. It has been in my purse for over a month but I have never looked at it (I have an Omron HJ-303) but it is said to be able to count in a purse. But that is as long as you are carrying your purse with you.
I would like to join for the rest of July .
I am starting fresh today and wearing my pedometer instead of it being in my purse and will update tonight! My goal is to hit 10,000 daily.
