People have said that I have a Boston accent, others say I have a German accent, others say I have an 'out of state' accent (I live in WA), and my best friend says that I don't have an accent, I just talk funny.

But really, I think my 'accent' is due to my inability to pronounce my "R's". :grumble:

I'm from Southern California so I was pretty convinced I must have some horrible valley/surfer accent or something, but every time I ask people from other parts of the country, I apparently have "no accent." If I ask foreigners, they say I sound "American." I think it's because Hollywood accent is the norm nowadays. So yeah, in the US I am effectively accentless.

Edit: But when I'm at home (with mom and grandparents) I notice I have a strong accent. They don't speak fluent English so I have to change my speaking patterns in order for us to all understand each other. I'm sure a lot of people put on accents like clothes sometimes, depending on who they're with. XD

I still have a strong British accent, even though I've been living in the US for 15 years now.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not the one with the accent. It's Y'ALL that have an accent!!

I don't think I have much of an accent. I'm from California and I'm pretty sure I don't have a surfer guy accent or anything like that. :P

I have been told I have a southern twang to certain words. I live in Ohio, work in KY, and have a ton of family in Georgia.

Being from Florida/Georgia my accent was really southern, but then I lived in Fargo for a couple years and it got very Northern! Right now I don't think I have much of one at all, even though I still say ya'll and fixin' and ufda often! LOL

I have a Chicago accent and since I started going to school in Wisconsin I've also picked up some of that northern Wisconsin/Minnesota accent business lol.

    Quite the combination.

I have a friend from NY and I love listening to him talk. He always looks at me funny if I ask him to repeat a word he just said just 'cause I love the way he pronounces it. Yeah, I know...weird. Ha.

In english, I don't really have an accent. In Spanish though, I have a very pronounced Argentine accent due to some time I spent there a few years ago.

Scottish. I used to have an Edinburgh accent but since moving to the west 16 years ago I now have a mix of Edinburgh/Glaswegian.

Apparently I have an Arizona accent.... never knew we had one. :) we talk like slang and country- ish. haha. Oh yeah, and we say "like" a lot. I never realized it until I lived in Texas for a year. They said that I talked funny. I was like, ummm, no, you do. haha. So, not sure if I can call that an accent, but that is how I speak. :)

    I have a Chicago accent.

However, I seeming have a unique accent with certain words...like roof. No clue why, or as my girl friend sitting next to me said I say a lot of things with my own accent spin on them.

Not weird at all. I knew a girl from NY and she had a serious accent and it was HOT

I'm from Rhode Island, we are notorious for not pronouncing our "r"s. I'm not as bad as most because I have always been a grammar freak. It's very similar to the Boston accent, but there are subtle differences.
"Paak the caaah in Havad yahd and put new tiaas on it!" lol

I'm from Rhode Island too and have a pretty thick accent that I never noticed till I moved out of state, lol...Only we can tell the difference between RI, boston and NYC accents... I still say "bubbla" hahaa

    Cajun by birth.

Of course I try to be British every other week. I know I almost have it down pat because my wife has threatened to kill me.

People always get confused with me :p Let's see if I can explain.

I'm Dutch, but my mum was Welsh. She went to boarding school in England however, so she never developed a Welsh accent. She and my dad decided to teach me English before I learned Dutch, so I don't have a Dutch accent, but I don't have a Welsh accent either (I wish..).
I've heard West-London, and 'BBC-accent', because it's so neutral, lol.
People never believe me when I tell them I'm Dutch though, so that's good :p
