Yes, definitely. When I know I have to log what I am eating, it makes me think twice if I am planning something not so nutritous.

When I firt started 200 days ago, I logged every morsel I ate, drank, and every exercise I did and was losing weight at a rapid rate. With the oncoming of summer's activities, I haven't been nearly as diligent, my food hasn't been nearly as clean, my weight loss stalled for two months. I've started logging again, not as diligently as in the beginning, but I'm trying to get back to that.. it's work, no doubt.. and takes dedication, but I've started losing weight again and it just goes to show it makes all the difference. You really have no way of knowing what's going in and out unless you log.

Absolutely! It holds me accountable...if I didn't log my food...God knows how many calories I would consume every day!!

I've been at it for nearly a month and it's really help me sort through my eating habits and how exercise can help me out. I like that I'm accountable for my actions - and I love the community.

It has really helped me make better decisions from meal to meal. I used to go home and fix up two sandwiches with lunch meat and cheese for dinner thinking it was helping but now I haven't bought lunch meat in months. Also....knowing what my limit is each day gives me something to think about before I eat something I shouldn't eat. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about grabbing something and have 2nd thoughts beforehand and put it back......ESPECIALLY in the grocery store. I still eat stuff that's not that great for me but at least I know now that I'll need to eat smart the rest of the day to make up for it.

Definitely. I feel like I'd be letting down people on here by letting myself slip. I've met some nice people, people who I would consider real friends from this site! I've only been on here a week or so, but yes, it definitely is helping! It's awesome to track every single calorie you eat as well. It's good for me to see what goes into my body. I'm a very visual person.

maybe you should try it
make some more mfp friends who are motivated and consistently loosing weight, make your food diary visible - the accountability really stops you from falling off the diet wagon, log your food every day and stick to your calorie goal and do some form of exercise. this is what i've been doing and its working for me and there is no reason for it not to work for everybody

I am on another plan....not calorie counting,, but I like MVP because I can see what I am putting into my body everyday, added up, and on one page. I also love the support!!!!!!

In the very beginning it really helped me to see exactly what I was eating & how I needed to change that. Now I've found that since I'm conscience of what I eat MFP actually helps me make sure I eat enough. So yes I think logging in everyday helps, at least until I learn to eat balanced on my own.

    helps me for sure.
  • Yes, it helps me alot because I have to look at how much every crumb of food that goes into my mouth costs me in calories . . . it makes me very accountable . . . I never realized how much just a teaspoon of sugar counts or that last bite of bread . . . this system really works for me!
  • It really helps me...I love the support I get from MFP.....

Oh yeah, it helps me a lot. For instance, I would have no idea much I was starving myself before or how much darn salt I ate today if it wasn't for logging in and taking the time to put it all down here. Sometimes it seems like a hassle, but it definitely helps to put your nutrition into perspective.

Definitely! Even when I am feeling less than motivated, logging in reminds me that I need to stay on track.

It helps me TREMENDOUSLY. I am visually accountable for everything that goes into my mouth, and MFP friends are such a wonderful support system...especially for those not-so-successful days.

I have found it to be extremely helpful with holding me accountable for exactly what I'm eating. There's also something very rewarding about being able to see my progress chart with my weigh loss … just that visual alone is so motivating.

ABSOLUTELY!!! MFP helped me realize how unhealthy I was eating before; always thought I ate pretty "healthy" but nope! High sodium, high carbs was my norm. Now, I'm using MFP to make sure I get enough food as well as watching my carb intake as I'm 5 months pregnant.

As if my ADHD/OCD-riddled brain would let me just log-in sporadically.
  • It makes me accountable, in a good way, I've even started sharing my food diary with MFP friends, it even makes me feel like exercising just so i cam add it and see my changes. AND i really like chatting with others there are so many great ideas out there and inspiration
