  • Stopped walking to work Stopped lifting weights Miscarriage Sedentary and extremely stressful job Slow metabolism/thyroid issues After struggling so hard to lose weight last year - losing a lot of it the right way in 9 months (but still with 30 pounds to go) - then gaining it all back in a couple weeks, I felt defeated and…
  • My mom, my mother-in-law, everybody in my family, really. I put it on so incredibly quickly, everybody has been worried about me. I don't blame them, I'm worried about me too.
  • Britches (but most people call her *****es... she can be pretty bipolar) ... and Buddy. Sweetest dog ever.
  • Just keep going. Your body will adapt. You will build more endurance and your lungs will eventually cooperate. I didn't start out as a long-distance swimmer, but that's where I ended up. Thanks to many, many hours in the pool. You can do it :)
  • The pants I put on today are a size 4. I'm shocked and excited, too!
  • Wii fit can be a nice tool. I like challenging myself at the yoga, since I have absolutely no balance/coordination. But I do it for fun, not for exercise. I think for a beginner or somebody not yet ready to run or lift heavy weights, it's great.

  • I aim for 200 calories so almost every morning: 1 whole poached egg, 1 whole wheat crumpet, 1 laughing cow wedge. Keeps me full till almost lunch :)
  • Thank you! I wouldn't have thought of going to the dentist beforehand.
  • Just turned 30 a couple weeks ago - it's amazing how time flies! I didn't get quite as far as I would have liked, but I've made some great progress. Hoping to kick it up a notch and reach my UGW by the end of this year. Can always use more like-minded friends!
  • No strenuous exercise the rest of the day. You want yourself to heal, including your puncture wound and your blood supply. I'm pretty sure they're adamant about the no exercise thing every time I donate.
  • I substitute all sorts of stuff for whole milk when baking. Favorites are champagne and fresh squeezed lemon juice. I've also done nonfat milk. It actually makes the desserts fluffier!
  • That is an awesome NSV!!! Congrats!
  • Lunch. Sandwiches and salads all the way. Unfortunately I usually work through lunch so I never get to eat it, except on the weekends :)
  • Of course, we had to claim them because my husband's family only does "K" names. My mother-in-law keeps a list of who gets what name. Kolin Robert for a boy (normally "Colin," Robert is my dad's name and my mother-in-law's dad's name) Kara Hart for a girl (Hart is my grandmother's maiden name) No idea what we'll do if we…

  • I haven't bought anything, but I'm planning the nursery and we're not even trying yet. Silly me :) Paint, crib, daybed, flooring... I'm starting it as soon as I finish hubby's man cave!
  • The BodyMedia Fit will monitor your calorie burns while lifting so that may be the way to go. Or an HRM. I love my BodyMedia Fit, love knowing how much my body is burning.
  • Hi everybody, so glad to see so many of us in the same boat. I am turning 30 in a few days and we want to start trying for our first child at the end of this year. It's been a struggle and I saw myself balloon up 40 pounds after meeting my hubby (and I'm only five feet tall!). I'm ready to kick this weight in the behind…

  • It's really not good for you to eat so close to bedtime. I used to get home at 10 or 11 after working 2 jobs and my hubby always waited for me. We both ended up gaining a lot of weight. I think it's reasonable for you to eat earlier, and have joint meals on the weekends. Oh, and hubby still waits for me to get home (now…
  • I am! I started the process of losing 50 pounds to get to my ultimate goal weight before I get pregnant. I'm 20 down and we'll see how I feel after the next 20 - we may start a little sooner :) Add me if you need some support!
  • I <3 this. Great progress you're doing an amazing job and looking awesome!
  • It really depends on your body type and frame. Personally, at 5' I've been 109 pounds and it's just about perfect. But I have a large frame. See how you feel and how you look as you get closer to your goal, you may adjust it. But don't worry about it now!! (BTW my hubby also hates that I want to lose weight. He likes me…
  • That is awesome. I'm hoping someday that will be me. I haven't worn shorts since middle school!
  • Hmmm I guess today it was the fact that I was getting looks from men. It's been a REALLY long time since that happened. Congrats on the bikini!
  • No problem! When you're back in the swing of things varying arms only and legs only laps is great, too :)

  • Intervals! Former swimmer here. Age 2 through 27. Competitive 10-18. I know it's hard without that coach to push you through, but make sure you warm up first. When I had my gym membership I'd do a half hour of cardio (elliptical, treadmill, etc.), then lifting/weight machines for forty minutes, then an hour or two of…

  • I recently discovered Iced Tea flavored vodka. Mix it with club soda, ice and a twist of lemon and it's just as refreshing as a margarita, without the calories! You can have a cocktail every now and then and not ruin your weight loss plans :)
  • I love a spoonful of Grey Poupon on occasion. So sorry we can't be friends :(
  • My husband is a charcoal man, and that's the way I was raised, as well. There's something primal about the flavor charcoal gives to food. Yum. Those grills only ever get better with time.
  • Challenge Start Weight 147.6 Previous Weight 143.2 Current Weight 142.4 Difference 0.8 pounds Total Difference 5.2 pounds Memorial Day Goal (Revised) 135 It's been a slow process! Hoping I can get there :(
