  • One of amitriptyline's well know side effects is weight gain as it definitely increases your appetite. It was originally given to me years ago as I had no appetite what so ever and was borderline anorexic. (now far from it lol) turns me into a chocoholic. I really get a lot of help from this drug for a few of my symptoms…
  • I have been diagnosed with this ridiculous condition for over 10 years, was lucky to have a remission phase 5 yrs ago of about a year then it came back with avengence and i have gradually got worse. Yes i feel grief, such deep depressing greif that thought would totally consume me. I needed medication help for that. Ive…
  • I welcome critism but not a scolding like I'm a wayward toddler (there are some die hards on here that can be quite condescending and rude) We all know eating healthy is good for us and most prepacked processed foods are not. Its like smoking...(yes i am bad) we all know its not good for us but you aint gonna stop…
  • I like the wii. I go on the jogging but i do it in the chair when my legs are bad and give it welly with just arm movements and bounce about a bit in the chair....still burns calories and quite puffs me out. Resistence bands are a good idea too and helps strength training. A bit of bed dancing is good too. If like me you…
  • I log every activity as i used the couch potato setting when i set this thing up. That way if i have a day where i cant do more than get myself dressed and fed then i have the bare minimum of what my body needs just to breathe and fart and wobble from the sofa to the loo. LOL If i can rake leaves or mop the floors or walk…

  • I was diagnosed around 2000 but i know i had it much longer. I find it hard to do anything some days but i've got a good job with understanding people which makes life easier. I try to walk at least half an hour a day even if i have to break it down into segments. I find it a big achievement if i can wander around the…
  • I used to do body pump about 6-7 years ago back in England. I used very light weights no more than 5 Lb but found that plenty and the range of movement seemed to work very well with my fibro- i did that 2 or 3 times a week. However over the last couple years my fibro has got much worse. Most of the cardio like aerobics and…

  • those of us with medical conditions seem to take a lot longer to see any results. our bodies just dont function the same way as healthy people I think. I have been at this for about the same time as you Stefanie and i lost a bit early on, followed all the advise, cheated a bit a couple days then gained it all back plus a…
  • I LOVE BROCCOLI yeh ...I said it....me I never touched the stuff- hated it in fact for my 40 years on this earth. then I realised why It was always over cooked, boiled steamed fried, everyone cooked the crap out of it. now I eat it almost raw- 1 cup in the microwave with a touch of olivina and a sprinkle of garlic for just…

  • Agreed. Bacon is a good protein pack. yes it tends to be salty but a body NEEDS salt/sodium. It cannot function properly without it. As long as you take that info into account when doing your calculations there is no possible reason why bacon should be eliminated completely from you diet as it has so many culinary uses in…
  • I go over on calories and everything else whenever work lays on lunch because of sales meetings- like today. I just quick guessed (overestimating hopefully) but you never know whats gonna be on the menu and it doesnt come with the nutritional info. I just try to pick the best of whats on offer - load up with salad and veg…
  • I dont normally pick on peoples diaries coz mine aint perfect. But you dont have much variety, you seem to be eating almost the same thing every day, pizza, burgers, taco's cheese strings and lots of bread-stuffs. even a junk food junky like me can see you need to go over to a lot more fresh wholesome food. toss the junk,…
  • the experts now say its not good for you to sleep 8 hrs in one stretch. In fact in medieval times people went to sleep when it got dark slept for about 4 hours then got up and did some activity (needlework, carvings and sex) then had another few hours and got up for work and such, napped a couple hours in the afternoon and…
  • a bacon question again... I was in a bacon conundrum yesterday. on my bacon pack it gave 2 values for calories - one for raw and one for cooked with a little " * " by the cooked one. in small print at the bottom it stated the cooked value was cooked in a dry frying pan and the fat drained and patted off the meat. hope that…

  • I still like pizza but I prefer my own made up ones out of pitta bread or naans. that way I can load them up with all my favorite yummy veg and i dont use anywhere near as much cheese or fatty meats. and this time of year most of the veg is straight out of my garden. tastes sooo much better that pizzaville anyday
