How did your bra size decrease?
I'm wondering how everyone else's bra sizes went down. Did you lose band size? cup size? or both equally? so far I seem to be loosing in band size, but I'm starting to think tweaking cup size might be a better option. (Yes I know I should 'get fitted' - its just not on my list of things to do if I am in town). :noway:

what is your "OMG that was how many Cals" food?
You know, that food, or drink, that you think is 'ok' but when you looks at it closer gives you heart palpitations? For me, I think it has to be butter. Per serve is fine, but it is SO easy to add a 'little bit more' and totally screw the numbers. Hot toast anyone? crumpets? I don't dare buy crumpets any more. Next…

Finding a running partner
So, as some of you may know, I've been running. I don't run very far, or fast. The speed thing doesn't bother me, but not being able to do more distance bugs me. It doesn't bug me enough however to try harder. All this week I've had to force myself to run further than the 'stopping places' of the lady who was joining me. I…

hot/warm low cal snack ideas!
I am looking for inspiration on some hot or warm snacks (under 200cals or so) now that its winter in Tassie and I'm freezing my bum off. Extra coffee isn't the answer, nor are Cup A Soups (I'll suss out the other ones in the supermarket though, to check the cals on them). Most snacky things are cold. Fruit, cheese, etc.

Tell us a compliment you've recieved this week
This week, I have had three compliments. #1 - someone told me there was 'no way' I was 'too fat' (to go caving) #2 - someone on the walking route said [something] "good looking" as I ran past him. (I said "thankyou!") #3 - the Site Manager of the employment agency said I "looked really good [...] you look like one of us."…

Add me as a friend list
I thought I would start a thread where those who want to be added as a friend or are looking for friends to add could come to one place, rather than searching through threads to see who has said 'feel free to add me' (usually on someone else's post) If you reply here, you are up for 'friending.' If you want to filter those…

how to convince 18yo
I know the answer is 'she has to learn herself' and 'lead by example' - but you know, the effort I have to put in when she is staying for the weekend is draining. 18yo wants to get into the Navy like her big brother. She gave up a perfectly good place, where she exercised most days, taking her dog for a walk/run every day,…

citified lunch options, under 10$
I was in town the other day (Launceston, if that makes a difference) and, of course, lunch time came. I chose a jacket potato, which sounds relatively healthy, until you watch how much they pile on. If it was a regular thing for me to frequent that particular place I could have asked for a half serve I guess. This got me…

when to get rid of 'fat peoples clothes'?
So, I have a pile of clothes that don't fit any more - all too big. I know I ought to get rid of them, but WHEN? tomorrow? (ok I am NOT going to put on 23 kilos on one night)...next month? 'soon'? I'm not really financial enough to get rid of every single thing that doesn't fit or fit well if I 'get fat' again. Not that I…

pet question
As I was putting bits of turkey fat into the cats dishes, I wondered how many of us have overweight pets. Mine aren't - but if I keep giving them the fat they could well end up that way.

a brave new world
I'm embarking on another phase of my life, that includes sleep overs. Not a huge deal for some, but momentous for me, having been single for a good ten years. What does this have to do with weight/fitness? (Bear with me, this might get convoluted - and I'm confused enough anyway. ) Well, I'm stuck on what to do, how to BE…

what is your clothing goal?
When I started this journey, I'd commented in FB that I needed to go shopping for jeans that fit my fat tummy. I found some, and since then I've gone down about 3 sizes. Jeans aren't my goal any more. Instead, fitted shorter skirts (no elastic waists!) and knee high boots are. Do you have clothing goals? if so, what are…

average cals per gram
So we know food/drink has calories, yes? If we are lucky, we know what calories are in most things we eat, but is there a ratio of calories to grams we can use to log unknown calories/meals? I ask because I got takeaway noodles from a place that has no online menu to gauge calories and the menu instore didn't have anything…

does temperature affect daily calories?
I know that BMR is what you use in a coma and I'm assuming this is in a climate controlled room. I'm wondering if people use more calories when they are trying to stay warm (and I guess cool down if its hot). If they do, what would be an acceptable increase?

diced pork recipes
In the supermarket the other day I found 'pork offcuts' (9$ a kilo vs 'diced pork' for 15$). I got a few packages of it, and I'm now kind of stuck about what to make with them. Obviously there is sweet and sour pork, and I just found a bali pork recipe which sounds tasty too (not that I have kecap manis, recipe is here if…

fun thread - 500 cals
You have 500 calories. What are you going to 'spend' them on? Must be something you can actually get at home - where ever that is. Like, I'm not going to have crocodile steak in Tassie. I have to think about this. :noway:

stir fry sauce ideas
I'm looking for ideas for sauces to have with stir fries, over and above my usual which is oyster sauce. I'd prefer things to make from scratch, rather than bottled stuff, like the teriyaki sauce in the cupboard - there is too much for ONE person and would go off before I used it again. So, what do you add to your stir…

Whats on near me?
Inspired by the dance classes run(?) by my local council, I thought we could post sporty type things that are on near us as individuals. I know I wouldn't have gone to the dance classes if I hadn't seen the flyer at the supermarket. So, for Launceston - we have Active Launceston, which has a range of things throughout the…

one person CBF cooking meal ideas
I know I cant be the only one who has days/weeks where there is just NO inspiration for cooking the main meal of your day (whether its midday or evening). What are some of your standbys for times like this? (especially when ordering pizza sounds like the best idea you've heard all day)

updating *your* recipes
I have a list of recipes that I make, but of course, I don't make it to the exact same specifications as when I put the entry in. Like tonight's crock pot lasagna. This one didn't have mushrooms, bacon or jar sauce like the entry has. Tonight I used less meat, less onion, carrot and used a can of tomato soup. Should I…

Aussie Crock Pot thread
I know there is a main forum thread for crock pots here - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/534521-crock-pot-recipes - but the first pew pages of it aren't inspiring for me. (I mean, why use onion powder when a real onion will do?? and where are the veges?) So does anyone have their own favorite crock pot recipes? I…

whats the one thing you miss most?
..as a result of your new healthy lifestyle? Me? reading in bed of a morning. With the alarm set for 6:30, there is no lingering in bed to read ‘a couple of pages.’ In fact there is no reading before the alarm, coz I know me well enough to know that I will want to get to the end of the page/chapter/book and I will tell…

clothes/shoes shopping
Now that I have about worn my shoes out, and my favorite track pants have a hole in them, I need to get new ones. Except, I am on a very low income. I realise that Kmart and Best and Less clothing has its place, but things I've seen are more fashion oriented than 'work out.' So I'm looking for decent brands that aren't…

A 'nice people' story
Hot on the heels of the 'people suck' thread, I thought I would relate a more positive story. (Not that I am maligning the other persons experience, it's happened to me more than once. ) Yesterday evening I was out for a walk. It was drizzling heavily, but not out and out raining. On my route I have to cross several roads,…

calories burned winding yarn equivalent
I've just spent over an hour winding yarn..by hand, not with a yarn winder, and about now my arms feel like they want to drop off. Of course, winding yarn isn't listed in the data base, so I was wondering what could be an applicable entry in its place, if anything?

clothing NSV
I was out shopping today (lest the cats eat me for breakfast) and it got warm enough to consider a wardrobe change. So I popped into the closest op shop and bought a skinny looking size L tank top. Changed in the car and it was TOO BIG! There is stacks of left over fabric! I could have done with a medium. Also while out, I…

Another water question - possibly TMI.
So, I am not a big water drinker, and fluid doesn't usually enter my body in the form of fruit juices or soft drinks. I don't get thirsty a great majority of the time. I also seem to drink tomorrows water today, as in, I drank scads yesterday, but am well hydrated today. I realise there is water in coffee and food and I…

bit of a grumble
So a couple of weeks back my walking buddy dropped off the face of the earth with no word. Then on Sunday she sent a text asking if we could walk. Yep sure. We walked Monday night and last night (Tuesday) she had asked about walking tonight. I agreed to that, and the only thing in doubt was when, 4 or 6pm. As a result, of…

do you have quirky food habits?
probably ones that annoy your friends. ^_^ Mine are: I wont drink coffee after 12pm. It must have the milk before hot water, and if you are making your own coffee at my place, woe betide if you put coffee granules in the sugar jar! I don't eat after 6pm. If I do I cant sleep until some ungodly hour. I wont eat while…
