Why oh why
Explain to me why after a run (yesterday was 3 miles) I crave salt. in this case I opted for ramen (yes bad I already know) and immediately I want sugar, chocolate to be precise. Lucky for me there was no chocolate in the house. I had wheat toast with apple jelly instead. But what makes my body want these things?

Jingle Bell Jog
I am doing an 8k race this coming weekend and I am contemplating wearing a costume of sorts. Any good ideas that are cheap, easy and limits chafing issues? It should be chilly so long pants will be ideal. I wish I was crafty or imaginative! Thanks in advance!

Time to retire
the heart rate monitor :( . I had the open wound before the half marathon so I stopped wearing it. Let the wound heal and wore HRM last night on 7 mile run. By mile 3 I knew it was a mistake. Have myself an even bigger wound now. Hubby says I run better without it anyway.

Calves and the stick
Has anyone ever used The Stick? My calves have been tight so today i tried using he stick, now they REALLY hurt. I can't tell if i bruised them or just pushed alot of knots into one location. Any advice?

My thighs are SCREAMING and my knees are feeling achy! Really should have stuck to cross training schedule. Praying 2 days down will help ease the discomfort. I want to get cross training started again, do you think it is too late? Sunday is a 9 mile run, race is in 34 days.

Reaching out for my son
So my 18 yo son is totally in shape, healthy and was due to ship out with the Marines on Sept 17. Sept 4 he got hurt at work..broke the heel bones in both feet. kinda gross but......
I typically drink about a gallon of water between 9am and 6pm however lately even though it is not extremely hot in my area I tend to get a wickedly dry mouth. Tongue sticks to roof of mouth and by the time i get home from the run i have a very thick saliva . I have no clue what this is trying to tell me! any ideas?
