"Normal weight"
This morning's weigh in was a new low. 167lbs. Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that, since I am 5'9" tall, that is officially "normal weight", per BMI, which is 24.7. I have my 1 year appt tomorrow, wooohoo. I still want to lose another 15-20lbs, to get into the mid-range (about 22) of BMI, but I am so proud…

Help with workout plan
I have been doing a PPL sort of split for several month. I typically hit the gym 4 days a week, so I -think I'd benefit more from an upper/lower split so I could do each twice a week. I'm just not sure how to do that, because right now I have 7 upper exercises each on push and pull days, and I am pretty positive that doing…

Muscle imbalance (legs)
So, I have a noticeable difference between my two legs (noticeable as the weight comes off). My right leg is bigger than my left. So, is the best way to fix this to just add some unilateral exercises on the left leg in addition to my usual bilateral leg workout? Which is this, roughly: Seated leg press 3x12 (155lbs) Seated…

Progress pic (10 months difference)
Sept 16, 2023 vs today. 130lbs difference (and I had already lost 20lbs from my "starting point" in that second picture).

Chai.....?
@springlering62 I saw a post where in a reply you (I think it was you) talked about buying really find ground "instant" chai mix, but cannot for the life of me find it. My 18yo daughter and I both enjoy Chai, but I haven't been happy with the "teabag" versions I've found. If I am hallucinating, or wrong about identity,…

Free yoga reccomendations
Can anyone recommend some free online resources for true beginner yoga? My gym has some yoga, but only hot yoga, and that is an absolute no go for me.

Low carb soups
Made two today (and one last week). Last week: white chicken chili (lot of chicken, one can of great northern white beans, cream cheese, chopped green Chile's, lots of spices). Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream. Warm, hugely filling, less than 15 carbs per serving. Today: Creamy chicken and mushroom and a beef…

Math is fun
So, I hit 50lbs lost in my most recent phase yesterday. Turns out I also had 175 day logging streak. Turns out 175 days is exactly 25 weeks. Boom! 2lbs/week, and in no way linear, lol. By the by I am a 40yo female with about another 100lbs to lose, no more menses (about 14months out from a hysterectomy).

Debating trying my ground beef diet again
For two weeks. Last time I did it, the weight sort of fell off. It was all beef and black coffee, lol. It would mean eating a pound and half of 85/15 ground beef daily though. May have to include some steak.

Day 1: beef challenge
Worked a 10hr day. Consumed 45 oz of black coffee, a diet A&W rootbeer and a lime lacroix. Also, 3 cups of water. Ate 3/4 of the ground beef I'd cooked. Had planned to eat all 4 patties, but am still too full from the three patties I consumed between 11am and 2pm (6 hrs ago) to eat the last one. Some trace carbs I am sure…

Halo Top
I see that brand discussed a good bit on this site, so when I saw them on a good sale at my local grocery today, I decided to pick some up. I got cookie dough, cookies and cream, mint chip, caramel macchiato and chocolate mocha chip. I'd 100% have picked up the lemon cake if there had been any. Tried the cookie dough…

Removing fat macro (that cooked off) from a recipe
I made gyro meat today (Greek meatloaf, whatever). Anyway, after cooking, the meat was sitting in ALOT of cooked off liquid, including fat. Once I removed the meat hunks to a cutting board, I poured the remaining approximately 2-2.5 cups of liquid into a bowl and popped it in the fridge. I am waiting for the fat to…

Staying on plan while travelling
Excuse the shadows. Weird lighting. 3 egg ham and cheddar omelet (of which I was able to eat about 3/4), 4 lovely slices of tomato and 5 dill pickle slices, of which I had already eaten 3. Nice lunch. I am traveling for 4 days for my daughter's hockey tournament and am guestimating and ball parking.

Low carb meals ain't always pretty
But dang they're delicious and filling. 5C/54P/35F. 559 calories. Big mug of coffee with half and half, 2 boar's head uncured bacon chicken sausages, 2 eggs and some egg whites for extra bulk. ETA: for some reason today the app is fighting me on uploading pics. I had one of the forementioned meal.

Halloween
This is what my 13yo hauled in in 1.5 hrs of trick or treating. Mind you, we half refilled our bowl for handing out from her haul before I took this picture.

Halloween
The haul from ONE of my three trick or treating kids: Mind you, she had contributed several hands full to the bowl we were using to hand out at the door.

Yay appetite suppression!
12 days back on the low carb train an it's hit full force. I got all the way to 5:30pm with only a protein iced coffee around midday. Thought I'd eat mla half slab of ribs and a hearty side of spicy green beans for dinner, but I got 2/3 of the way though my ribs and had to say whoa... My 12yo daughter is finishing them for…

Metro Diner
We just got one of these about 10 minutes from my house. As my oldest daughter (a HS senior with a free second block) and I get a late breakfast together about once a week, we decided to give it a try. I was thoroughly pleased to discover their "Protein Breakfast", which consists of 4 scrambled eggs and your choice of two…

Starbucks sous vide egg bites
Wtf! Why do these (bacon and gruyere) have 9 grams of carbs. I found myself with some time to kill out of the house this morning and stopped in... 9 carbs in something made of eggs, cheese and bacon... Should be 2-3 tops.

Soul Bread
I don't really miss bread, but wouldn't mind it and my teenaged daughter appears too be sensitive to gluten and I'd prefer her to have an alternative to commercial gluten free breads that was also not carby. I have my first attempted batch in the oven and it smells okay. Not really what I would consider a baking bread…

Leftovers!

Thanksgiving snacks...
Since we're eating our rather basic Thanksgiving meal early (12:30ish) since my teenaged daughter has to work at 2 and I pulled a 12hrs shift last night, I wanted to make sure we'd have good snacks for the afternoon/early evening. This was the result: I have a good full fat low-carb ranch dressing for dip for the veg, and…

Reboot (again, sadly)
I had gotten very off track again (mostly beer and donuts, yes I am secretly Homer Simpson, Doh!) and needed a reboot. In my defense it was killer locally brewed IPAs. Anyway, I definitely needed to get back to what makes me feel good and drops the weight, so starting Monday, August 22nd, I got back to my keto levels,…

I want to love my cast iron pan
But I don't! I have seasoned the damn thing multiple times, cooked so much bacon in it, etc, but nothing makes it close to non stick and it's just such a hassle to clean stuck food off of something you are not supposed to scrub with hot water and soap. I am pretty close to giving it up as a lost cause.

Low carbing the family
Dinner tonight was crockpot beef chuck roast, baby yellow potatoes and green beans. I had a moderate amount of green beans with butter and a large portion of the meat. My husband had 7 or 8 baby yellow potatoes, two smaller portions of meat and a moderate portion of green beans. My son, who doesn't like green beans, made…

Eating out low carb style
12oz prime rib, grilled mushroom skewer, side Caesar no croutons. Skipped the yeast rolls. Niiiiiiice.

Farmer's market
Totally scored this morning. Got some halloumi frying cheese, truffle sheep's cheese, herb and garlic feta, pastured pork sausage (whole hog sausage, they use the ham too) and a great cold brew coffee. Also picked up some garlic scapes (excited to try), and local honey, blackberries and peaches, plus my teenage daughter…

Eggs eggs glorious eggs
Of which I ate 8 today, medium to hard boiled with butter and salt. Plus a good size steak (250g) and some homemade oil and vinegar slaw. Low carb is so easy and awesome.

Stupid things I read on the internet...
Due to its high fat and cholesterol content, red meat should be limited to about three 3-ounce servings per week. That was just the gem I randomly stumbled upon today. Please feel free to add your own.
