9/20: 157 /Getting closer to my lowest weight from the last round (156.2). I fit the catered Chipotle I had at work yesterday into my calories. I now make it a habit to ask what we will be eating on late nights so I can plan it into my calories so I don't have to bring my own food while everyone else is eating catered food. This is now two days in a row that I didn't go to the gym. I was so exhausted. I have to go tomorrow!
9/21: 156.8 /Continuing the downward trend, though it's going very slowly. I have today and tomorrow off so hopefully I can stay on track...it's harder on non-work days!

Hi,
9/20 352.2 I'm not sure if I should set a goal weight for this round...
I, too, have a lot of weight to lose and have found that "time-stamped" goal weights don't work for me. I have more control over my behavior than what the scale will say. My goal is to keep aiming toward a daily calorie deficit. I didn't succeed yesterday but that's the first day I didn't in over a week. I know I can reclaim that goal today.
An occasional day of eating with wreckless abandon won't totally stop my weight from going down but it might make the reaching of some theoretical weight goal harder to reach. Not meeting that weight goal might make me want to quit whereas reacting as I did to bringing pecan pralines into the house (eating them all in one fell swoop) is more of a learning experience about my eating triggers.
Now, today, as I look at the higher weight on the scale, knowing a good deal of it is water from the take-out Chinese and some from the pralines, I can go back today to eating at a deficit, slap myself on the hand for setting my progress back a couple days, and go back to eating more normally rather than eating uncontrollably.
Losing the weight we need to lose, you and I, is a several year project. Weekly or ten-day, arbitrarily determined successes and failures are just going to mess with our minds. The important thing is to change our eating habits so that we control our calorie consumption. If we do that, the weight will come off. After all, that's the big goal anyway.6 -
All right, new day, feeling pretty good about things. Last night I went climbing for the first time in my adult life, and found a fifth obstacle course race I want to sign up for in the coming months. Pretty sure I've got the workout part of my wedding preparations under control!

9/21 - 189.4 I'm terribly frustrated.. I know this has to do with not taking a water pill anymore but 18 days at or around the same weight and never being over on calories is pretty frustrating. I'm looking at my second consecutive Friday with a gain tomorrow and I just want to crawl into a hole somewhere. Rant over.
Oh, Cyranda, I hear you! Remember back when you just couldn't get into ONEderland? I do. In the meantime you've had to stop taking the water pill and had your mouth wired shut and you didn't let any of those things get you down. You persevered! You can get through this, too! Just think of all you've done for folks by starting and keeping up this challenge series. I'll gladly give you credit for several of my lost pounds and especially for making me stick to it this time. Heck, if you just took a couple of pounds each of us has lost in our 10-day challenges, you'd have a gazillion lost pounds to spare!!10 -

9/20 - 160.7 I tried Chefs Plate for the first time last night (promo rate) had Chicken Romanesco Bucatini. It was a lot of calories 870!! It was tasty and large I planned for it AND I lost some lbs.... Hmmm. Hit just over my step goal. I think I need to walk before dinner instead of after as it is getting darker and colder out!! Looking for some 5's now.
9/21 - 159.7 Here comes those 5's. Walked 12,400 steps, hit calorie goal. Still need to figure out an evening workout plan. Hope these 5's stick around for awhile.

Day/Weight/Comment
9/20 125.8 -weight crept back up after last weeks several day low at the 122s. I did kickboxing last night. Went over calories by 200 calories.
9/21 127.3 - very frustrated. I did a legs day and a whole body workout yesterday. I was over calories due to the holiday, but not 2 lbs worth. Not sure why my weight keeps creeping up despite increased workouts and watching my calorie intake.

9/21 156 UGH! Pizza for dinner at community bingo last night. I only ate the toppings off one slice of veggie and had taken a healthy salad from home. One SF adult beverage but overall maybe not enough fat or perhaps this is the salt.5 -

There's your answer right there: increased workouts. When muscles are worked more than usual they need water to recover. Things will balance out. It's water.

@HeidiCooksSupper
Ok, thank you Heidi. I'll focus more on my behavior and identifying triggers. I have quit too many times in the past and I don't want to repeat that behavior. If I had a bad eating day, it would turn into another and then I'd be disappointed in myself and give up. I really want to succeed. I need to remember that I might fail some days, but it's like all things. You have to work at it.5 -

Number of perfect days in a row: 3
9/21: Wine night. Do I go? Or do I log 5 days in a row of perfection?
Which will make you feel better? 5 consecutive days of perfection or enjoying the company of friends/family/coworkers/meeting new people?
Which will you remember before you die? 5 days of perfection or wine night?
I'm late for last night, but for future events...I assume the attraction of wine night is as much the people as the wine, so why not go and sip one glass of wine all evening? Or ask for club soda in a wine glass? Same with food - make one round of the munchies (I assume not sit-down), heavy on veggies, smidgeons of the higher calorie stuff, and nibble. Drink one or two glasses of water just before you go and eat something healthy - maybe a protein and a piece of fruit - so you don't arrive hungry. Then enjoy!9 -

Hi,
I think this challenge could really help me. My goals are to drink 1 gallon of water daily, exercise 5 days and log my food daily. Best wishes to everyone!
9/20 352.2 I'm not sure if I should set a goal weight for this round...
9/21 351.6 Today's focus: drink more water and exercise; maybe eat a half portion at one of my meals. This is a great group of people; it's motivating to be a part and learn from everyone's successes and struggles.
