My 2 year old daughter likes them too which is great because she is so picky and I…

free foods?
Some weight loss companies say that non-starchy veggies and salads are free foods because the calories are so low. What do you think about this? Do you log it as calories when you eat veggies or salads? Today I have a raw cabbage salad and green beans and Im not sure if I should log them or let them be free? Thanks.

Food Facts That Resteraunts Hide From You
What does the restaurant industry have to hide? One of the true issues behind obesity is the fact that many chain restaurants — which provide one-third of all restaurant meals, according to the New York Department of Health — obfuscate the fat and calorie counts of their menu items, and fight any attempt to shed light on…

Dietary Fats: Types, Importance, and Addition to the Diet
I am writing this to address a new trend---eating too little fat. No doubt due to the low-fat fad of the 80's, many people today believe that losing fat can be as easy as cutting it out of the diet. It seems logical: eat less fat, have less fat. However, that's not the case. The fat you eat isn't just absorbed by the fat…

I found a great deal today at the market on fish so I picked up 2 filets of Sun dried tomato crusted tilapia fillets. I have to admit I have no idea what brand they are. (They were in the seafood case). I haven't been able to find anything regarding nutrition information for this. Do you think if I use the Sea Cuisine…

Man, that was so good!
I haven't really allowed myself peanut butter in several months. I guess I just look at it as too much fat and calories for the little bit you can have. I have just been craving it SOO much. (I used to eat it by the spoonfull!). And the fact is, we NEED fat in our diets. Fat isn't what makes us fat....it's how much we eat…

The worst drink on the plante. 2300 calories!!

Eat ALL of my calories?
I had someone remind me that to keep your body burning you need to eat all of the calories. Has anyone got any advice on this? Does this mean if I have 100 calories at night I should grab another snack? And my biggest question is, when you work out are you supposed to eat extra because your calories allotment goes up? I…

Marinades
I have a KC Masterpiece Sesame Teriaki marinade that I love. I add chicken, mushrooms and onion and put it on kabob sticks. I am not really sure how to calculate the calories of the marinade, because it seems like most of it is left in the bottom of the bowl after I put the ingredients on skewers. Any ideas?

Shell Shock! (IHOP Omelette Stats Revealed)
Boy are we having fun with this NYC regulation requiring certain restaurants to reveal the calorie counts of their foods right on the menu. Last week we outed some doozies from T.G.I. Friday's, and this week we've got some INSANE news from the world of IHOP (who, up until now, have kept their nutritionals hush-hush). If…

How many ounces of chicken did I eat!
I had a piece of grilled chicken tonight, but I have no idea how many ounces this would be. It was about 1 inch in height, 3 inches wide, and 3 inches tall. Hahah... yeah so if someone has any clue to how many ounces that would be, if you'd let me know, that would be great.

Daily goals....
Why is it that at the end of the day I only have a few calories available still but at least half of my fat grams available? Is it a good thing that I am not eating the max in fat everyday? I try to eat all my calories and usually do pretty well, but this the start of week 3 and I have only lost 3 lbs. Plus, I am working…
