We do mother's day in march. Despite buying three cards for my mum, mil and nan in law, I suspect if nursery didn't have Andrew 'make' one, I wouldn't get one. I don't really care, but then I'm wondering why am I bothering? Maybe it will be more fun when the kids are older (or maybe worse!).
My dad used to make a big deal about mom's day. My mom would 'sleep in' while we made her French Toast served in bed. And my dad always bought her something special -- expensive jewelry. Looking back I'm sure both waiting to be served in bed as well as eating in bed probably was torture for her...1 -

I'm thinking Athena on one thigh (complete with shield, spear, helmet and Owl) similar to this but a tad more realistic and obviously with the owl and a viking warrior woman on my other thigh! Athena represents to me the calm temperament, slow to anger but is the Goddess of war but only fought for just causes and focused on strategy. She also represents wisdom. The Viking woman is the passion and drive. Both cultures were the original feminists; both had women involved in politics, women had equal rights and both had women taught in the art of war.
These are great! I love the meanings behind both of them.0 -

@Oberon21 if you had fun that's all that matters! My season this year is two road marathons and two trail ultras- I am 200% my road times are going to be the superior ones
Confession: I somehow stumbled onto some fitness blogger on YouTube and her "10k calorie challenge". While she's struggling to get the last 2k in at the 22 hour mark all I can think is, "This.is.amateur hour." Haha2 -

She wants to eat 10k calories? Why? The folks in here did something liked that for Thanksgiving once. I'd just eat a cheesecake.1 -

We only tried to eat 5k calories that year. And I didn't make it. I think I am still under 2000 and I hiked 4 miles today with a 20 lb pack.
ETA: I have eaten 1662 calories today. I have room for coffee and ice cream.2 -
I love bread. And on some days I tend to eat about 4 buns back to back as my first meal of the day without caring.

Oh so you're not at panic stations just yet. But it's good to chip away at it in a good pace rather than getting to panic stations.0 -

I only love freshly baked bread. I can leave pre-sliced packaged bread, but if we pick up a loaf or rolls from our local bakery it tastes amazing with just butter.2 -

Cuz it is nasty and not real bread! It is not natural for bread to feel fresh after more than a day or so!0 -

It seemed to be just another day for me. The good thing that came out of it was I had all my kids (born and bonus), grandkids and furbabies for the day. I didn't cook, neither did anyone else, but it was nice to see them all.2 -

Nah, that's not the hard part. The hard part is knowing most likely you will be the one cleaning it all up afterwards!!2 -

That too, but my mom isn't one to lie in bed or eat in bed. In retrospect she was a good sport about it.1 -

Actually a year isnt a lot of time. It took me a full year last time I did this once I got serious. So I am panicking a bit!0 -

Yeah I remember several didn't make it. I was over 2k yesterday with dry roasted peanuts after a 2 hour walk (after I couldn't work one more minute on my dissertation).2 -

I hope the walk helped and you make lots of progress on the dissertation this week.0 -

Hi, guys! I'm back from my amazing weekend (seriously one of the best weekends I can remember in ages). I did well at my competition. 1st in my age/weight, and 3rd in overall weight.
Squat (my nemesis) - 206 lbs
Bench - 161 lbs
Deadlift - 356 lbs!!!!!
https://youtu.be/UsdCJBxNylk
We went to the local MMA fights Friday night, which is always fun. My competition was Saturday, and I had a blast. Payton and I went to our friends' house Saturday night to watch UFC (Ray stayed home with a headache). Sunday, Payton and Ray spoiled me more than ever! Ray folded and put away all the laundry!!!!!! (To illustrate how rare this is - he didn't know I have separate drawers for bras and undies. We've been married almost 20 years. ) I ate and ate and ate all weekend. I'm up 5+ pounds this morning. Time to get back on track!4 -

Oh, I hope it goes ok! I'll be thinking of you.
It went well! The rain didn't show up but we are on flood watch until further notice (Mountain snow plus rain equals disaster). We introduced Emma to the dog gang that lives upstairs, currently there are 4 dogs (two are hers and the other two are fosters) as well as two cats; they had an absolute blast playing for 20 minutes or so.3 -

YES! I am a sucker for a good fresh sour dough. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm0 -
