no judgement? ok I really dislike Christmas & always signed up to work. I don't like anything about it, the songs, the lights, etc. wish I could skip it & I don't buy gifts, but this year our grand kids picked adult names to get them a gift, so we have 2 gifts to buy, ugh. It's not a religious thing as I'm a christian, It just seems to be all about $ and gift giving. I am glad that the world celebrates it though. I'll be glad when it's over

    I am with you 100%
I feel the exact same way

Oh, look, another one of us, @Beka3695 and @Italian_Buju.

Welcome @Evamutt, to our crazy truly no judgment thread. I teach a Sunday school class and I detest commercialized Christmas.

Augh!!! It is not even 7am and I am mad already. Someone came in here sometime since I left at 3:30 on Friday, found a charred pot of coffee, turned off the machine and moved the carafe to a cooler burner without even attempting to rinse it out and without throwing out the old grounds.

WHY???? Why would you leave that for someone else??

I half cleaned the pot because I can't leave things like that, but if I knew at whom to yell over it, I would probably get fired before 9am.

It's funny how it goes. I'm a deep-seated atheist, yet I love Christmas. Well certain aspects of it. I totally understand resenting the commercialisation of it. I don't stress over it and I don't get into debt, that's no fun. For me it's about family and silly fun and something to look forward to when the weather is so miserable.

Plus I enjoy making things (when I have time) and the kids are just getting to that age where it's magical so I'm all in this year. I went big on homemade decorations this year. Our house is a taste free zone!

I would love a Spam Christmas. I kind of have that in my house, but it's impossible to grocery shop without being assaulted by the person next to you. (Really, I was shoved aside at the milk last week. Y'all, they weren't out and I was also reaching for cream from the shelf above.)

I said I was not putting up a tree this year. I even offered to bake a cake and decorate it "Happy Birthday Jesus" - the family declined. My final negotiation point was that ALL DECORATIONS must be able to come down in 30 minutes or less.

This is what is in my house... a 3' tree sitting on a table. It only has bows on it - pre lit and foldable...
4 stockings that will not be stuffed, 2 lanterns filled with decorative balls, and a wooden tree that is 3 pieces - that is all. I think I can dismantle in 15 minutes!!! This will be done on Christmas night!!!!!

BTW - I drank my dinner twice last week because of Christmas. Welcome to the club!!!!

I do not decorate at all for Christmas. No tree, nothing. Sometimes I will put out an advent wreath, but that is buried this year with me packing to move.
I did do a tree and such when the kids were young, I stopped when they were about 12 and 14. But during the decade or so I did do it, everything came down boxing day, along with a deep clean. No trace of Christmas by the next day.

While shopping I hate the people who treat the grocery store like they're the only one in the store. The people who feel like the store is a NASCAR race & fly out of aisles without even checking to see if someone is coming the opposite way irks me the most.

Yesterday I had a customer who sent money to someone & they lost the paper with the reference number & expected me to find out what the number was. He said he sent it Friday so I assumed he did it at our store since that would be the most logical thing & with that I could have had management go through the papers from that day. Nope he sent it from a completely different state & expected me to be able to look that up? I'm sorry I'm not a computer. I wouldn't be able to do anything since I wasn't at the original store that did the transaction.

Today marks 4 years of me consistently logging in on MFP! I thought I'd be a lot further by now.

    Nevertheless, still a kickass accomplishment!

That is quite the achievement

    Thanks!

I've eaten so much peanut butter over the last few days.

There are worse things to over indulge on than peanut butter. If that makes you feel better.

I also despise what Christmas has become. If it weren't for my 16 year old daughter, and 10 month old grandson, I would be perfectly content skipping the whole thing and going on a cruise! A la Christmas With The Kranks!

I've never watched the movie, but I just started reading the book (John Grisham) after finishing Invisible by James Patterson.

Invisible was a pretty interesting read & who the killer was pretty shocking at least to me. I thought it was going to be this one character introduced late into the story. We have 4 more pages until 3,300!

This was my first attempt at Scotch Eggs.
European folks - how do they compare?
Flavor was amazing. These were baked, not fried.

@Beka3695, I am glad you posted the egg picture. I am allergic to egg yolks and completely lost all desire to eat when. I saw them.
I was on the verge of eating my stress in cocoa covered almonds. (I swear I walked out my front door and into the Twilight Zone this morning.)

Not the reaction I was hoping for, but you are welcome :D

If this helps -- I was hoping for the yolk to be a little runnier. Next try!
