What nobody tells you about losing weight

No one told me that, even though I'm still a good 30lbs from a healthy weight and still have a fat belly, I'd WANT to wear closer-fitting clothing! I don't like my bulges being on show, but I dislike the look of baggy clothes even more now that I'm finally getting a visible waist again!
It's true what someone said above, about loose clothes making you look bigger. I used to hide behind baggy tops but now I don't want to. I wear old, loose clothing around the house because my cats will climb on me and ruin good things otherwise, but every time I get changed to leave the house and put on something slimmer fitting I feel like a different person.
This is so me right now. JUST pulled out my sweaters and they all looks SO big just because I use to like baggy!4 -
1. The way I looked as a small child in Pop's shirt and work pants is how I look in my old clothes, minus the fedora.
2. One of my bosses told me that the Residents all think I had Bariatric Surgery.
3. The guy who I was at 275 lbs got a more intense workout than I do now at 195 lbs. The only way to emulate it is to wear a 80 lb backpack to induce same level of calorie expenditure.
This probably explains why the last 10 to 20 lbs is such a &$@!?8&2!@!!! I have a 60 lb weight vest hanging around. But do I really want to risk my damaged knee. It took 1.5 years to get here. Its ok to take 1.5 years to lose the last 20 lbs (not that Im willing to wait). Beside I can use next few years to do strengh training.25 -

Get fed up of everyone banging on about their diet in the staff room or slimming world (or the Facebook up dates "lost a pound at SW this week"
Or moaning that they've put on a couple pounds whilst sitting their stuffing McDonald's
Just focus on yourself, you're doing it for you not everyone else you don't need validation from everybody8 -
I am starting over again. I was getting discouraged last year because as I would try to walk and exercise I would hurt. Even doing small house hold chores would cause massive pain. In Feb of this year, after lots of Doctors, I was diagnosed with Lupus. The with the trail and error of which meds, I gained 12 pounds. In September, doctors and my body found a nutritional and medical routine that seems to work and I can now walk for 45 minutes without pain or pills. Even though I need to relax for a 1/2 hour in the afternoon, I don't feel the need to sleep. Now I feel I can get back on track and a friend told me about this app. Now is the time to get my life back.59

Found out what the button that appeared in the middle of my chest is.
It's a xiphoid process, which in itself is quite a cool name, and sounds better than 'button'.

This is so true. I still fine it weird. Put on a size small (me!) and even though it was snug, it wasn't really tight and I though, 'Yah, I would wear that.' Before I would NEVER wear clinging clothing,9 -

Ohhh I sure would enjoy that NSV. When I was in labor I got poked 20+ times. They almost had to call someone from the emergency room when the person finally got it!6 -

That weight loss is about so much more than weight. It is about taking ownership of your life. I didn't realize there would be such a thing as a non-scale victories and that they would mean so much more than the number on the scale.41

I've been noticing a huge difference in how my body functions. I can indulge a little, for example, and see no change in the scale. Before, a little dessert would send the scale in a direction I didn't want it to go -- like, immediately. Or I can eat brunch and am not hungry until the end of the day or even the next day. These changes are things I NEVER remember experiencing before or would have thought were possible for me. It's like I am "normal," like something isn't out of whack any more. Hard to describe, but I am just starting to experience this ...32

Nobody told me that my physical deformity from scoliosis would become much more visible and prominent when not hidden under 100 lbs of fat.
Oh well. I'll take the sloped shoulders and slightly weird ribcage over the weight.28 -

Yes! To be honest though, those that couldn't give me the time of day as a heavier person really are not worth my time. It shows to me their true character. Maybe that sounds mean and I should be more forgiving?
Curious what others thought are. What does one say to a friend that hits on you After losing the weight. Wasn't negative or mean or anything prior just wanted to wait...3 -

Old post I know but I picked up the book you are your own gym. You don't need store bought weights or machines your body is the machine using body weight they also include lots of variations1 -
That you would take more selfies! You want to dress nicer by buying fashionable clothes. Overall you take care of your body better. Catching my reflections in the mirror amd liking what you see.16

Even when you buy the smaller size you check the tag repeatedly thinking it must be marked wrong.15

Smaller pants have smaller pockets. Makes sense, but it's super inconvenient sometimes.17
