That photo was taken about 6 km from where I live.
And it represents a little goal I've got ... to cycle all the way up to the top of that mountain. There is a road that goes up there, and every time we have driven up (only a few times) there have been cyclists riding up.
I am not a climber. Too many years in Manitoba (Canada) where it is flat as a pancake. So I am in awe of the "mountain goats" on bicycles around here and how easy they make it look. But we've been doing climbing rides once a week and I'm building up the strength.
Maybe next summer.

Cycled home from work today and then my first spinning class. Hard work but good fun, I thought it would be hard but expected my road cycling would stand me in better stead.

Hey all,
Yeah I'm still here. Just have been traveling a lot and no time to track miles. Been working out, but just not recording. I'll come back in June when I'm around more, although am traveling to Texas, but I'll try to keep better track.
Have been seeing all that about Texas.It really is sad.. One does not really comprehend things like that until you've been thru it. We had a tornado not far from here a few years back. It barely missed us. We drove around looking thru it all. All I could do was cry. It really hit home how bad those are. We were lucky it missed us and my brother. It missed him by 2 tenths of a mile...WE WERE BLESSED!
Have not felt 100% today so I only managed a 1.75 mile walk...I guess it's a semi-rest day...

Today was a really great. It has been mosly over cast so not hot temps. Husband dropped me off 3.25 Miles away (on his way too work) and I walked home. I then got the doggies ready and we took another 1.5 mile walk. total miles today 4.75 walking miles...

Cycled to and from work today, to work was awesome managed a new pb, but paid for it on the way home as it was head wind and gusty all the way. Rounded the day off with a zumba class.

Tomorrow looking like bad weather so won't be cycling so will need a final push at the weekend. Good luck everyone.

Hey, it's FRIDAY!! And I'm off work next week! Yay! Vacay week!!! I'll be out of internet range so I won't hear from you guys for a while. Have a great end to May and a lovely beginning to June!!! My youngest little bugger turns 14 this next week! I'm waaaaaay to young to have a 14 year old...

I'm done. I haven't it left in me to do the last few miles on the bike, even though the weather is favourable. Why so lazy? I've had my nephew staying for the weekend, and we've swung through the treetops, been on Segways, played board games and cards, and been up the climbing wall. I'm not used to entertaining teenagers and am shattered!!!

So ... my goal is to move 500 km or as close to it as possible again. Little bit more challenging now as this is a busy month with work and university ... plus it is winter, and darkness falls on my way home from work now.

Plus I did a 35 min stair climbing workout in the evening. My yard is full of little sets of stairs. The longest one is 7 steps so I mainly focused on that one, up and down, up and down, but I also jogged between the others and did them too for some variety. In total, just over 1000 stairs climbed.
Plus 10 min upper body weights workout.
05 Tues - 4.8 km walking (60 min) ... again, all utility walking.

Getting a bit tired of the short, short daylight hours. The sun is setting here by 5 pm now. And the temperature starts to drop by about 4 pm. Coming back from yesterday's ride ... we FROZE.
Thankfully, it is less than a month before the daylight hours start increasing again. Can't wait!!

We had planned to cycle a lot more on the weekend but high winds (gusting to 76 km/h) blew in on Saturday, and then on Sunday we got caught in quite a large hailstorm. It just wasn't meant to be this weekend.
