For Science! I confess I would love to see what the ultimate mundane confession would look like.
these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions; these aren't confessions

So I have a friend, he's like 85, he called and invited me to dinner since he was stood up by his daughter. I confess I could've had a dinner date tonight but I passed. We did make tentative plans to meet up some other time. It's weird who we make friends with in our lives1

My confession.
When I was 17 I lived with my grandparents intermittently but spent a lot of time at my boyfriends who was 10 years older. He had to do a couple of months jail time ..I think for traffic infringements (can't remember)
Anyway while he was in I packed up and went home to my mums. I never contacted him I basically forgot about him.
Met a new guy and fell pregnant 6 weeks after getting home.
So...playing pool with bf a couple of months later at the local and "Bear" walks in 6'6" about 130kg ..big boy with a suitcase..I walk him outside before bf saw him. Asked what was happening..he said Im here to live with you..
I will never forget as long as I live the hurt on his face and his eyes tearing up when I said I was with someone else ..he didn't say anything just got up and walked to his car leaving the suitcase ...btw he'd bought his mum and dad with him to meet me ..they were standing near the car..
I've thought about him often over the years and Im pretty sure Im his..I was hurt badly by this girl once story....
Bear...where ever you are..Im sorry
I still feel like a *kitten* about hurting him..2 -

Aww. Poor guy, but we are not always our smartest or most compassionate at 17. It says a lot about the person you've become that you still feel bad about the situation.1 -

omg Jo. as my Grandma used to say what is for you won't go by you. If it was meant to be it would have worked. I'm sure you ended up better off but there's always that thought isn't there1 -
I confess I don't feel much like mom-ing right now, so I turned on the electronic babysitter.0

I confess I'm having a really difficult time knowing my personal hero is facing his mortality. I don't know how to deal with this situation. I've never had to face this before with someone so close to me. It's tearing me up inside and I'm doing the best I can. I have no coping skills for this situation.
I'm sorry sweetie. I have never lost anyone close to me, so I would be in the same boat as you in a similar situation. All I have to offer are virtual hugs and an ear if you need one.
Thank you. My grandfather is an amazing man. I'm really hoping I get to see him again, supposed to be visiting at the beginning of May for his 60th anniversary with my grandmother. We'll know more tomorrow, maybe, after *another* trip to the hospital. He's basically given up his will to fight, and nobody thinks he's gonna make it very much longer.0 -

Aging sucks. NO one has coping mechanisms for this but you know what imagine what it's like to be the person told they are coming to the end of their life. I had to watch this happen with my dad recently and it's horrible. I was there when he was told there was no more dr's could do, I was there to get him ice chips because that's all he could eat, I was there with his gin and tonic with super good gin because gosh darn it my dad was going out in style. It's tough but you can only control your reaction. Remember the good times, that's all that matters now. We all lose our heroes but this is when we rise up and carry on their heroic efforts.
Didn't mean to sound judgy or preachy but life sucks sometimes and that's when we rise to the occasion and make those we are losing or have lost proud by what we put forth into the world. Would they want us to wallow, well maybe but I bet by carrying on and having fun they are smiling2 -

It is what it is.
What does it mean? What is "it" being "it"? I never understood this. I have no idea what you're talking about? If you would like to confess what you mean that would help me. I confess, I have no idea what your talking about.

I confess I posted "it is what it is" just because it was the first thing that came to mind, not because it was in any way an actual response.0 -

This just leaves me with more questions? What's going on? I confess I'm confused?0 -
I confess that I don't understand the dislike for that statement. It's like swearing- something to say when you don't know what else to say, no?0

I'm distracting myself from a difficult emotional situation by being stupid on the internet.2 -

You did not sound judgy or preachy to me. You sounded like what I've been saying to myself.1
