I confess to giving out $2 bills as gifts because they are such a pain to deal with.

    Here we have toonies

Not the toonie, but your paper currency almost got me either in a lot of trouble, or ruler of your country while in Quebec City a few years ago. ;)

I adore our paper (plastic) money. I despise American money. It all looks the same and there are too many $1 bills.

Well the question that started the issue was why does Canada have the Queen of England on their money? The unsolicited answer I got was because England once controlled Canada. My response was, so was the US, but since we have become independent we put our own leaders on our currency. That apparently insulted the man that rudely interjected his opinion into a conversation he wasn't invited into. The ensuing melee was enough for me to believe I could take over the country with a strongly worded letter if I so choose. ;)

This is why we are friends!

She's actually not on all of our money.

She's on our $20.00 bill and she's on the "head" sign of our coins. I always just assumed that it's because we're still part of the Commonwealth and while we run our own nation we're still connected to the UK.

We do have our own leaders on our other bills:

$5.00 - Wilfred Laurier (the first French-Canadian Prime Minister) with Canadarm 2 on the back
$10.00 - John A. MacLeod (our first PM) with the Canadian Rail on the back
$20.00 - The Queen with the Vimy Ridge monument on the back
$50.00 - William Lyon McKenzie King (our PM through WWII) with a Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker ship on the back
$100.00 - Robert Borden (our PM during WWI) with a salute to Canadian scientific research which includes insulin which was discovered by Frederick Banking (a Canadian)

    qla5rilnp8zv.jpg

The person you spoke with just, as like Jon Snow, knew nothing.

I appreciate the knowledge you have shared with me. Had the person who so misinformed me had enough manners not to butt in to a conversation they were not a part of, I may have learned this year's ago. Thank you

To be fair I would've chimed in too, I just remember my schooling :D

I have tolerance for knowledge.....none for ignorance. Your chiming in would have been welcomed. :)

I'm on a conference call that I find so absolutely boring that I'm surfing the forums to keep me a wake. I have NO F'n clue what they are talking about at this point, and I just don't care.

When the MFP site goes down for maintenance, I assume it's because of something I did. Like "Whoa, there fella. You can't say that here."

    I did the same
When the MFP site goes down for maintenance, I assume it's because of something I did. Like "Whoa, there fella. You can't say that here."

It happened right when I hit "post reply" so I felt like I broke it.

That was it. I put one too many comments.

I am pretty sure one day chit chat will be the end of MFP, but not today....

    You are a wise woman.

Exactly. I always say if I ever get insomnia all I need to do is dial into a replay and I'll be asleep in no time.

Actually, I have several calls that are exciting, but those are technical calls. And they're with people I know and like.

I confess that I stashed a rice crispy treat in with the rest of my "healthy" food at work. I won't be touching it though. This is my self-control test. Do not touch the delicious marshmallow-y goodness. Ugh.

I confess I was bad and parked in a lot for an establishment I wasn’t patronizing (correct usage?). Someone on reddit told me nobody ever gets towed from that lot, but I’m still very nervous.

Happens daily here at a place in my town. The owner watches and has them towed as soon as they walk off the premises.

You haven't learned your lesson with parking in places you don't belong?

Wait when did I do that before?

The only other parking is parallel parking and I’m pretty positive I would end up bumping into someone

Didn't you get a parking ticket a while back for being in a lot you weren't supposed to be in and posted a picture of the ticket in the forums?

Ohhhhhhh that. Yes, but that was *kitten* because I was supposed to be there and that parking attendant was just petty.

This time I’m just blatantly breaking rules.

Just saying you may have bad parking luck and I wouldn't press my luck if I were you

I’ll stay and see what happens but if it’s bad you’re fully entitled to an “I told you so”

Lol. Nah. I'm just paranoid and would be sure I was gonna get towed or a ticket because I also have bad luck

Haha well I’m worried too but I see it as worth it because I basically come here every week and if I didn’t have to play “am I going to hit this car” by parallel parking every time, that’d be pretty great.
