a few minutes late for Sunday, but I walked around the grocery store for approx a half an hour, and helped a friend move all afternoon so lots of extra steps doing that :)

Good morning everyone. I'd like to join in please - I walked a lot last year but been slacking the past few months and getting back to it now; need the motivation with winter here now. I love walking outdoors but not so much indoors lol. But will have to depend on the treadmill over the next few weeks and that's way easier to talk myself out of

Sadly, I didn't meet my goal yesterday--should have known it was too ambitious. I did get in 7,060 steps, which means I've exceeded my general goal of 7,000 steps per day for six of the past seven days. Yay me for that anyway. :)

Today's goal is 7,000 steps. Work days are sometimes tough, but it is a cardio day so I should make it. Speaking of which, need to get moving.....

    Have a great day!

I was on my iPhone so it cut off the rest of my post LOL - which finished with "so this will be a good challenge to ensure I don't wussy out on days I can't get outside to walk. I use the Runkeeper app, so I'm not sure yet whether i'll be logging time or distance, but I WILL be logging one or the other every day!

Yesterday I walked for an hour bundled up from head to toe down at the waterfront path... i'm thinking carrying the extra weight from piling on parka, mittens, scarf and ear muffs helped me burn off a few extra cals?? :)
(Well, it was worth a shot to claim....?) ha... but I did get in an hour walking nonetheless :)

    01/01/2016 - walked 1.88 miles - 40 mins
    01/02/2016 - walked 2.2 miles - 45 mins
    01/03/2016 - walked 2.2 miles - 45 mins

It's not even 1 pm here and I almost have 10k steps in already. I'm not sure if my new FitBit is over calculating or if I'm just being that much more active since I'm wearing it now!

Sun 1/3: my husband and I walked a nature trail in the Sierra Foothills near Nevada City CA. The 2-mile walk took us about an hour, we did a lot of sightseeing :)

Mon 1/4: The rain has arrived! I headed out while it was sprinkling. I really enjoyed it, and it was chilly enough so I didn't overheat in my hooded rain parka. The rain picked up a lot as I was heading back towards home so I cut my planned 5-ish miles to 3.5 mi, in 1 hour.

    1/4/16 Walk at appointment 7,495 steps 3.08 miles 1:03:01 389 cals

It was really cold today! I walked at 32-33*F. That is the coldest I have ever tried to walk outside. I was waiting for my mother at her appointment.

I am in! I think I will aim for 100 miles too this month. I need to get caught up with that since I have just started this challenge. I will log in my miles on my journal and come back here for results.

I don't have a step tracker or anything like that. But I usually walk the dog for 20 mins or so a day
so I'd like to step it up a bit as I'm not losing any weight at all.

Walk with Leslie Sansone 7,081 steps 3.04 miles 1:02:02 406 cals

I decided I needed a bit more steps in so I walked with the video in the basement. At least, I was nice and warm!

Now, if only MFP will fix the sync issues they are having with fitbit and all will be well.

I have a fairly active job, so i'll try and put down total steps, and estimated steps outside of work hours too.
Also takes about 3300 steps to walk to work, and walk home too. So that's 6600 steps for nothing more than commuting, if the weather is at least not raining (cold and wind is fine with me to walk to work lol)

Lastly. Using phone pedometer, possibly over-estimated up to 3k steps by the end of each day.
Steps taken outside of work (including commute to/from work), + distance, are estimates. But shouldn't be too far off.
1 mile for me is roughly 2200 steps.

    04/Jan: Total Steps: 32,400....Non-Work Steps: 15-17,000+....Total Distance: 14.7 Miles.
