Got 415 lbs flat bench, and 370 lbs incline bench today. No video, partner couldn't make it.

    100% how?

Huh? Should of tried 420 on flat. 415 came up quick. 370 incline was painful but pushed through. Be another few weeks before I go heavy again. Do not underestimate a 51 yr old ex power lifter. Lol

Oh no underestimating here. Just straight impressed. You guys put up some awesome weight and here I am with my crappy bench

That's all I got left. Tomorrow trying 425x1,405x2,385x4,and 365x6. Wish me luck. Got me nervous thinking about it.

Squatted 495 last week and it looked iffy, probably because I had a spotter and have never used a spotter before and probably won't again. Hit 500 tonight with no problem and solid depth.

I like whay Zilla said above about being nervous, I get nervous about missing a squat but missing a bench press doesn't even phase me. Practice missing makes perfect I guess :D

It’s the other way around for me. The bench is the primal lift of the bros. I feel more eyes on me than when I squat. I’d rather dumb a heavy squat than have my spotter help me get the bar up. I almost feel more defeated in a sense

My nervousness in dumping a lift isn't so much the eyes (although even on my gentlest squat fail there is a lot of noise) as the squat rack being right up against the mirrors and no room to pop out of the rack once I bail. It feels like I am trapped in the rack.

On bench failures I have had 3 or 4 times someone come running over to "save me." They get over there and see the bar resting nicely on the safeties and me climbing out from under the bar. So maybe you are right on the eyes watching the bench press.

    Last set of yester-training.

Nice looking set. For me it’s feeling pretty good making four plates more routine in my training

Sure Matt, let me know if yah have one in mind.
Yes, I'm 105kg for one more year.

Is your next meet the Pure Fitness open?

Yeah, I plan on three meets a year now, now that last year's BS is over and I can get on a regular on/off season training schedule which I hope to plan out sometime in the next two weeks with the meets picked in advance.

No, it's B&W in Chicago. I believe this one is all male but my memory fails me.

That dedication to maintain head and next position. And not bombing into the hole. Awesome *kitten* man. *kitten* about the uneven load though. That always jams things up and throws you off a bit. Still made the best of it though!

The heaviest the weight felt while squatting in recent memory. But even on my worse day where I couldn't get my knee sleeve on as normal because of the swelling in my right knee and my right tendon near my hip/groin has yet to come close to heal in the past six months, the bar moved better than it felt. Worked up to a single at 195kg/430lb and then just fell back onto volume.

It's concrete. Despite not having much experience with sumo, I'll be pulling my awkward sumo in my next meet in 7 weeks. Just doing some light recovery work on 2nd vid while pinpointing some of the bigger technique flaws to iron out. I'm not sure where my limit because of my inexperience with sumo...but I think 227.5 kg/501lbs might be my best I can do in the meet. If so, I will consider my decision correct.

Prep for nationals is getting serious. Had some 2 board work tonight and managed 102.5kg/225lb for a single. Excited to see what I pull off on the platform but even more excited to see how a bench shirt treats me afterwords.

PRed my slingshot bench this morning by 22 pounds! 209.4. First time pushing over 200. It was like Christmas, even the plates agree!

    I did x3, but only recorded 1.

You say low, I can't even do a hundred lbs properly at the moment ;) Good job!

Some of yesterdays second wave of clean + 6 second pause + jerk at 86,89,92kg (202lbs) and a clean at 95kg(209). I started my cut for my April meet yesterday, ughhhh its been so nice that my coach has been letting me train a little "fluffy" for clean and jerks but it will be interesting to see where my snatch is in 8 weeks at the meet since I tend to snatch a little better when i'm a little lighter.
