    Tuesday

The weekend went okay. The scale sat at 160.0 all weekend but I'm guessing it would be up today. Very carb-craving. Pretty sure it is PMS.

My doctor appt went well last week (can't remember if I posted that.) Hip joint looks good. I go for an MRI on Thursday morning with a possible steroid injection if the MRI doctor thinks it is warranted. I'm kind of nervous about that. But then again, my back has been pretty achy this week, so ready to see if it would help.

I'm excited - and scared - to share that we "may" have found a house! A house popped up online in an area of town we had not been thinking about. When I looked into it more, I realized it is in the right area of town yet for my daughter's junior high and high school. I would have to drive my youngest son to his elementary school as I would not allow him to attend the one nearest to this house (should we buy it.) But I'd be driving to work, anyway, so it would work out okay. It is right on the edge of town and it would mean I'd have to be up earlier and out the door earlier. I wouldn't be able to drive home for lunch. But it's a big, beautiful house and yard. (Honestly, it's probably too big for us.) We went and saw it with our realtor last night. It seemed like the price would be too much but we learned today that the sellers are very motivated. They were transferred and the house has been on the market for 4 months. She told us we might be able to offer them less than they paid for it 2 years ago! We do not have enough furniture to fill the place, so we would have to budget and save for additional pieces to fill it up and make it our own. The back yard butts up against a nature preserve and we were greeted by 6 or 7 deer grazing in the backyard when we got there.

My husband went by today to check out a couple of things and spoke with a neighbor. The neighborhood is mostly older people, although there is a younger family directly across the cul-de-sac with a 4 year old. Our kids are 7, 14, and 19. We're a little worried about moving our youngest son away from his friend down the street - but we are excited to think of getting away from our drug-dealing neighbor and his screaming girlfriend. We had more excitement last week with her - 3 squads and an ambulance. Grrr. And the owner of that house (the father of the 40 year old drug dealer) says that we are part of the problem because we "stalk" the son and his girlfriend. Excuse me? It's not stalking when they stand out in the driveway and scream expletives at each other!

Anyway, the neighbor he talked with seemed really nice and seemed excited to have a teacher as a neighbor! :)

We are waiting to learn a little more about the covenants for the neighborhood before we make a decision about offering. I have to be able to put up Christmas lights! :)

Is it bad that I feel like it might be "too nice" for us? I'm weird that way. Worried that others will think I'm being "too fancy."

Of course, this would mean we would have to offer contingent on the sale of our house. We'd have to work like crazy this weekend to get our house ready for pictures and to go on the market. I think we would move all of the storage stuff out of the unfinished part of our basement - plus a lot of stuff out of closets and the garage. And then do the deep cleaning. We'd probably pull some all-nighters.

    I'd better scoot. More soon.

    Good evening,

Annie hope your house possibilities work out.

Calories left for today but I think the 4 chips I ate just took them...... oh well.

Eye appointment tomorrow for new glasses. Well overdue so just suck it up and go.

    Wishing all a good night.

Annie - woo hoo on house possibility! Super exciting! Getting away from crazy neighbors is definitely a plus! Keep us posted!

PS: Not being able to put up Christmas lights would be a real deal breaker for me! Hehe

Kathryn, thinking about you and your loss. Your brother sounds like a special person who touched so many lives. I hope that and your own memories of him bring you comfort while you mourn his loss.

    Best,

Lana, how exciting you and your sister will be meeting up in DC. Rumor has it that the heat-humidity we’ve been experiencing is supposed to break tomorrow so you should have nice autumn weather by the time you arrive. It sounds like you have a great itinerary set up but let me know if you need any suggestions or have questions.

    WEDNESDAY

    Good morning,

Glad for chance to get new glasses, will get bifocals again - just easier in more situations. I take glasses off for the computer - I hope to get there a little early to look at frames.

Air quality stinks from fire smoke but the paper says its "okay" - paper is often incorrect on weather. Lana - I hope you hear from your relatives- Ukiah is often hit with fires so I hope they are safe.

Kathryn, thinking of you and your family, it is a "one day at a time" situation. Hang in there.

Bought a crockpot cookbook - not real thrilled about it, but at least its not a mass of papers which is my current method.

Oatmeal almost done and I need to scoot. Wave to all who follow. Lurking from work.

Help. Long story to tell. Need to loose almost 150. Life threatening. Would like a motivational friend to compare challenges and progress frequently. Prefer another guy to relate to about the male challenges. Message me and thank you.

    Good evening,

Eye exam went well, they took my blood pressure and I have not had that low of number at a dr office of any kind in years!! Take it and run......NSV

Cannot find example of eyeglasses I selected online but they are a burgundy color and large enough to fit bifocals easily - Lana this dr had loads of options so when you come visit ....... and I didnt spend as much as I feared.

One of my to do list things done - and had a couple pieces of chocolate - the assistant and I have the same bday and she asked me what I was planning on doing - I said I was making/knitting myself a poncho and I make sure I get a piece of birthday cake. Otherwise at this point I have no clue.

Need to make dinner. Yippee! Wishing all a good night.

    THURSDAY

    Good morning,

Dog up early, so I can knit a little this morning - 10 more inches on poncho then I have to figure out how to sew it together. Sewing up knitted or crocheted items is not my favorite part.

Winds have lessened the smoke here but made it harder to fight the fires. Almost cant win with this one. Taking disposable surgeons masks to work so I have them in both places, just in case. * I wrote "disposable surgeons" and had to change it - what a concept!!

Someone gifted me a P3 (protein power pack) and I nibbled on that after my eye apt - took almost an hour to get through it at work - had ham jerky.

    Lana - tree news?

Wave to all who follow. Almost to the end of the work week.

I love P3! Such a handy little snack... my Dollar General actually has them for $1.75... but, they don't have the one with cheese
    :(

Dawn- thank you good to know (always good to save $$).

Turned on my pine scent warmer - better than the smoke - today is a huge improvement for us air wise but we are not "out of the woods" yet- think week or longer.

Oatmeal for dinner. Just easier. Had udon noodles with chicken and sauteed veg for lunch. Took a nice chunk of calories (especially sodium).

Asking people in jobs in my area what their job involves, cant hurt to ask....

    Wishing all a great night.

    FRIDAY

    Good morning,

Lana - how is the tree?? Hopefully done with.

Dog up early, just easier to get her out when she needs to. Oatmeal on. Not sure about today's lunch yet.

Will ask quietly in another department about what jobs they have that I might qualify for. Just wondering.

    Friday

Scale showed me a number in the 150s again today! 159.4! I don't know how that is - except stress is making me eat little but badly? I'll take it but know I need to do better.

Had my MRI on my lumbar spine yesterday. The good news is there is nothing wrong other than mild degenerative changes (i.e. age) but no bulging disks, nerve impingement, etc. I elected to have a steroid injection in the hopes of getting some relief. It could take 5-7 days to feel any difference. I received a message from my MD stating he will refer for continued PT.

In more exciting news, we put in an offer on that house last night. (Well, the offer went to the listing agent this morning.) It's a real lowball offer - $9,000 less than they paid for it two years ago (and $35,000 less than they are asking) - and asking them to pay 3% of the purchase price toward closing. They may just say no. They may counter. We shall see. But we figured it was worth a shot and if it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be. There will be other houses. We won't list our house if we don't get an accepted offer. Our realtor liked our house and thought it would show well. Hoping to have professional photos taken on Monday so we're ready to list whenever it's the right time.

Sara - I was excited to read about your glasses. I need an eye exam and will need to buy new glasses after January 1st when my flex plan renews.

    Lana - tree update?

    Enjoy your Friday!

    Good evening,

My calories would be red all over the place if I added the small but still frosted piece of cake I had today...... someone gave me bacon flavored ritz crackers - so far they are unopened.

Making probably pork roast in crock pot (dishwasher on as I write) so I will have pork w/ potatoes/carrots onions etc and then pulled pork for mexican food choices.

Dessert bar is 23rd for winning my company award -department is having dessert on Friday before, those little rotten gnomes are laughing too hard. I will ignore Friday and be careful and make good choices Monday.

Pine scentsy is plugged in - our air is less smoky and I am grateful but those fires are not out yet....

Lana - hope you are doing okay - you are usually around more often. Did you run off with the man who chopped your tree down??

Wishing all great comfort tonight. It has been a long hard week.

    SATURDAY

    Good morning,

Dog is my best alarm clock - she does not "turn off" until she gets out/food.

Back for a little more sleep. Will stop by after errands.

    Saturday morning....
    Hello to all~~

The tree went well, Tuesday through Thursday, but I have been without phone landline and internet for laptop, and I will be for a while until the phone company can get around to coming here to hook the house back up, literally. The line is still coiled up and hanging on the bottom of the phone pole near the street. Things are slow in the south. Gah.

Now that I've loaded the MFP onto my laptop via outside internet, I will read posts and try to come back later on.

    Hugs to all~~

Purchased pumpkin for kitchen window until my Christmas window gets put up Thanksgiving weekend.

New shoes in mail both pair fit without immediate pinching which is kind.

Could not find a pork roast at first grocery store thick enough to slow cook -on tomorrow's list.

Lana - glad you are able to communicate again - yes the "south" has a different pace. Hope things get fixed soon.

Off to stream movies and knit.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Okay lets confess- the pumpkin muffin put me over on calories today. This is the time of year when I get 1 pumpkin muffin, 1 piece of pumpkin cobbler and 1 piece of pecan pie (one in each month for 3 total this month is muffin next month is cobbler etc). Makes for some red calories, just glad I dont do this weekly like I used to.

    Saturday night

So tired! Cleaned and organized all last night and all today. Tweaked my back a bit picking up a box that was too heavy, I guess. Iced it right away and took Advil. Now having wine, advil, and some stretching. I hope I'm not too sore in the morning. Calories have to be in the red but have not tracked.

No word from realtor. We talked to her earlier today and she said the sellers are crunching numbers. That was several hours ago. Maybe we'll get a counter offer tomorrow?

    SUNDAY

    Good morning,

Up a little early, dog up and fed. Pink dog this am (very pale pink) see the specialist Wednesday - have had dust activate full on migraines in the past. I was making a sitting area to watch online programs that are longer than 30 minutes and the dust was disgusting - knew I would pay for it.

Groceries and then cooking. Pork roast of some kind.

Annie - the fact that the sellers are even crunching numbers is encouraging. Keeping good thoughts that this may come through.

Back to sleep with any luck - bbl.

Pork tenderloin in crockpot with potatoes/carrots and onions -not much room so potatoes went in first and carrots/onions dont have to be fully cooked for me to eat them. Extra potatoes are cooking in fry pan. Crockpot should be done around my dinner time- which is why it went in so early.

    Will fly by later.

    Sunday night

Still exhausted and sore, but not as bad as I thought. No word from realtor. She was going to follow-up this morning. I guess this means no photos tomorrow and no listing it yet. I'm off to a conference a couple of hours north of here until Wednesday afternoon and I don't think I'm going to be making any decisions from up there.

Has not been a day of good food choices. I'm sure I've shot my 150s out of the water and would be back in the 160s if I checked the scale. Will do my best to make good choices at the conference and possibly hit the treadmill at night.
