Hello to Everyone~~
I am getting here late today, huh.
Tomorrow through Wednesday I'll be going up to NYC, and I am traveling so lightly that I am not taking my laptop with me. I will have a heavy book on couple therapy with me instead, weight-wise. So it's likely I will not be making long-winded check ins with you all.
Dawn, love the story of the exchange between Aunt and Gpa's sister. Perfect.
Sara - hope you are enjoying the weekend and getting in some Sara-time.
Waves to Kathryn and Eryn and Tracy and Tess and Saltine and Izenzo and anyone else who stops by.
Welcomes to the new peeps!

Happy Saturday, all!
Slept in as long as I could this morning, as I am still getting used to the eastern time zone after spending the last week in San Francisco. I did get a lot of random house things done, as it's been a mostly gloomy, rainy day.
I've been slowly working my way back to better eating after being in vacation mode. Eager to start feeling better again, and need to get in a workout tomorrow.
Drinking some green tea and enjoying the evening. Hope you all are too!!
Hope you have a good time in NYC, Lana!
Happy Saturday, all!1 -
Lana- I thought others might like the story. Hoped so anyway. Hope your books help you thru the next few days and more and more over time.
Hugs to you... and great WI!2 -
Thanks Dawn~~
Eryn - Where do you live on the East Coast?
I am going to try to get myself to go to sleep early, but first I must find something on Netflix to provide some escape from reality!
Sleep well everyone~~

Long day, some me time (fell asleep watching something online).
Had too many errands and had to go back to get a gift bag for baby bag lady at work is getting -putting a bag in a bag - so my tip of the day -Michael's sells reusable bags at the check out counter for 1.99 that are very large and sturdy - if you have a large shaped or weird shaped item, save yourself the headache of looking in the store and ask where their reusable bags are.......
Bought a grey skein of baby yarn to make hats while I was there.
Found out at dinner that I had run out of water pills, so yet another errand. I am hoping for only one trip tomorrow to grocery store. Good news I got eye drops that are better than the other ones I was using and with the smoke it is appreciated. I also got a Lenny/Larry gourmet cookie.
Dawn- glad someone told the drama queen to "put up or shut up". Lana- peep when you can hope you have a safe trip. Eryn - glad you have weekend to settle back into time zones and habits again before work week starts.
Will describe my plans in the kitchen for the work week tomorrow ......

I watched a new series on tv this spring that was good for a laugh, my daughter told me it is on Netflix now. It's called Good Girls. Worth a chuckle, if you are looking for something not too deep.1 -
Hi all - gorgeous day here in DC: sunny and temps in the low 80s. Did a 2-hour hike through some nearby woods with DH. Good for the soul and waistline! Later in the day, went to a baseball game - we won, which hasn’t been happening much lately.
Dawn, I laughed when I read your story! Good for your great-Aunt to put your mom’s sister together in her place.
Waves to new folks - this is a wonderfully supportive group.
Lana, safe journey to NYC. Sara, glad the weather has cleared up a bit.
Best to all,

SUNDAY
Good morning,
Cooking after grocery shopping. Pork with maple/apple cider glaze bought 3 Granny Smith apples to saute in it as well. Roasted Potatoes/Turnips/Radishes and baby Broccoli as well.
Feet are swollen again and I have Dr apt in a couple weeks, will discuss this as few of my work shoes fit comfortably. Not interested in buying new shoes if Dr puts me on new meds. Roll eyes and shake head. My new sandals have just enough of a lift that my toes take a hit - which was my last errand last night (pharmacy). So I should not be surprised that they are puffy. Walking shoes today for groceries, and to/from work, but they are not dress code. Seeing the shoes I do that I dont consider dress code........ just amazing.
Dawn- Scentsy package was on doorstep this early am. Weird time to deliver, but will open later and set it up.
Groceries and then home for day. After yesterday with 4 extra errands, I have no desire to do any more than I have to today.
Will try for more sleep. bbl1 -
Sara- odd time indeed. Hope you enjoy and it puts a smile on your face0
-
Dawn just put my new scentsy warmer next to the other one, chose the chai tea as the other ones were a little too per-fumy for right now. Means I have 2 choices instead of one! Thank you for the heads up on the clearance.1
-
Sara- you are welcome! Glad you found something you liked. I just love when the whole house smells so yummy!0

Hey Lana! I live in Charleston, SC!1 -
Good evening,
Looked at nutrition of my maple pork chops and took almost 500 mg of salt by removing the mustard. I am waiting for the dishwasher to finish so I can set up 3 pork chops with sauteed apples/roasted veg for work - containers are in dishwasher. Got very hot in the kitchen and opened the patio door to make sure the smoke detector didnt go off...... I recently left zucchini enchiladas out overnight, so I leave the light over the kitchen on to remind me to fridge things.
Trying to lower my salt intake - crackers with hummus, was checking sodium amts and I got one that was 50 mgs down from the first one I picked up 240mg. I also was lucky enough to get carved turkey instead of the processed turkey, big change in taste and sodium grams. If this medicine is my future, I better get on the stick and do my homework.
I will start a new book waiting for diswasher. Wishing all a good night.1 -
MONDAY
Good morning,
Down one pound. Finding I am eating too much salt again, so turkey wraps are with natural and not "processed" turkey. Hoping it will help with my feet.
Window open and air good today temps around 100.
Dawn put Chai Tea in my new Scentsy warmer. Found an instant Chai Tea at International Market that is Black Tea, Skim Milk, Sugar and Ginger. I have to let it sit a couple of minutes, as straight away it is not too good but as it cools down it tastes better. 10 pouches for under $5. Sure beats Starbucks. I dont know how people afford it everyday.
I found some pink Tule at Michael's before I found the wonderfully huge reusable bag for the baby bag - baby shower at work - Wed/Thurs? Will take to lady setting up party to see if she can use for decorating.
Monday - back to the salt mine. Wave to all who follow. Make it your best Monday - lurking.2 -
Sara - that is a good deal on the tea. Sounds yummy! hope the meds and less sodium help....I don't add salt to anything... but, I know I eat way to much sodium in all the processed foods I eat... and soda...0

Starting over AGAIN. Things haven't been going well for me so I deleted my other account and decided I am going to try again. Gotta get myself going, not getting any younger so here I go again.
Definitely need help staying motivated because I HAVE to do something now.
Hoping to make some friends.

Welcome, tobybear!
Waving to all! I've been lurking at work and at home. Nothing positive to report at the moment, but trying to get back on track today. Main goal is to return to gluten free this week. Maybe meal prep will be on the agenda for next week.

We usually do. My SO does most of our shopping, but we go through the ads to see what they have, especially protein choices. I love to catch ground turkey on sale because it is so flexible. I can change the flavors and control the portions well. I also do a lot of chicken. Cooked, pulled from the bone, and portioned into four ounce servings.
My vegetables usually come from a Saturday morning trip to the Farmer's Market. We have a producer-only market. The person selling is the person who grew the food. I enjoy talking to the farmers about the varieties and methods of growing.
My plan was derailed by some life getting in the way, but things are slowly settling down so I can begin to focus on my health again.
Thank you for all the support here. This group has been keeping me grounded through some tough times.

crash and burn.....
tmi- just so you know.... I have been without "that time" for almost 9 months which is okay because that is an option with the "product" I am using, but at work I found out it is not over like my pcp thinks because I am "of an age" ( HAH = the fat lady isnt singing either....). I havent been caught off guard like that since High School.
Then
lady at work was having an "issue" and my 10 minute break went out the door only to come back and I being "that time" I also had to use the bathroom after my very long break... my supervisor was in a state - where was I ??? There was a work issue which luckily I had seen today so I gave her the feedback I could. After I clocked out and got my station cleaned up for the day, I went back to my Sup and apologized and told her that I was helping a friend and time got away from me and about my "tmi". Her whole demeanor changed and she said "that's the Sara I know" and was okay with my explanation. I wanted to take the computer and ram it over her head for being so "kitten" with me, so luckily the computer is safe.
So... I get home late luckily Miss T didnt leave me a puddle. Her walk is next....
This is an essay - I do apologize.
Couple of weeks ago I broke my only casserole dish - woman at work left a set of 3 casserole dishes as a thank you for the 30 hearts I made her - each dish had another present (timer/ kitchen towel/spoon holder/ nut snacks). I sat in the kitchen and cried. It was the nicest thing I have had in a long time. She and I are going thrift store shopping with any luck this weekend. I called to thank her.
Long exhausting day, book reading and then lights out. Thank you for letting me chat on.5 -
What a day, Sara. ((Hugs)) to you.

TUESDAY
Good morning.
Windows open, yes I am up early. Figured I may as well get the ball rolling.
I dont know how I put a line in my post yesterday and probably never will again - I hit a combo of keys??
Another coworker I made hearts for her 50 chemotherapy bags, saw me leaving work late yesterday and offered to give me a ride home. I walk every day so I hesitated except my casserole dishes were heavy and it was HOT. She knows I live down the street and offered if I am still at work when she leaves, she is willing to drive me home. After being treated like dog food by my boss, I was very grateful.
Taking a couple of romance novels to work to donate, hoping it gives someone an "escape".
Focusing on the positive where I can find it. Bring on the extra water as well.
Wave to all who follow.2 -
Sara - I am sending you big hugs from the East Coast. Cabana Boys have been alerted that you are to get extra care. I cannot find the best words, so here comes a blurt: I understand about the sitting in the kitchen and crying. Some of us just don't get the emotional care that we need. Damn. So so very nice about person who gave you those casseroles/other things.
Also hugs for having a job that is so time-use strict. All of this concern about productivity, blah, blah. Blech!
I so hope that you have a good day today. Drink your water and eat good food and sounds silly but think good thoughts when you can.
Hugs,
Lana2 -
Waves to everyone else~~
If I have my monthly allowance of a huge serving of Amy's Bread Cake with buttercream frosting, after other high-calorie food, my body sure can sponge up the water weight.
Back on program today.
Visiting friend on Long Island; flying home to NC tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY
Good morning,
Half way done to work week. Get to see Sup for 1:1. Ran into her on way back from break as she was leaving. The claims she asked me about is easy production and I will try and grab as many as I can today before they are taken away......called survival in the concrete jungle.
Lady I recently met who is back from chemotherapy - has the ability to fund the possible expansion of our department's access to Medicare website capacities..... Believe me it is confusing if you are new to this and it was thrown in her lap, so she asked me if I used the website which I do. Access involves $$$ so maybe. That would be nice.
Pork chops for today and Friday's lunches and tomorrow is teriyaki chicken at cafe. Drinking extra water and walking more when I can.

Hello All~~
I'm at the airport, and I've managed to eat only healthy things. No coffee cake or bagels and cream cheese or cookies, just the hummus and vegetables and fresh fruit! I am patting myself on the back.
Past two days have been Lana's personal food festival, and sure enough, the scale knows it.
Back on The Healthy Path today.
*Snapping fingers for Cabana Boys to mist all of us Serial Starters and do foot massages.*
