Lynn I purchased two products online- amazon- from Murphy's a pump spray and a waxed based balm. One for work and home (in case I forget to apply before work). Like you I didnt like all the warnings. I grew up with Off as it was with Cutter the only game in town. I dont like the canned spray as I would probably spray my face, so I will give those away.

I have a short term goal of 8k steps per day. Once I can reach & sustain that, then I will go for 10k per day. Have been trying to get back in habit of going to office gym after work and, at very least, walking on treadmill.

Sara - we use Off clip-ons. it clips on you, nothing touches your skin, nothing is sprayed on. the clip-on more or less circulates a repellent "shield" around you to keep bugs away. its not perfect but better than constantly drenching in DEET. we live in the woods with a pond and HEAVY biting insect populations. we have not found anything "natural" works worth a darn. I suppose in a city or someplace that was sprayed for mosquitoes, those might work but not out here. we prefer the clip-ons because nothing is applied to the skin. just clip it on your clothing and go! we keep a stack of them by each door for family and guests.

Kathryn, thank you for the clip on suggestion - I have yet to find them in the store. Have a feeling I will do another Amazon "adventure" in the future - how is your head/hair doing?

either Susan or BBW works for me.

I just finished an 8 week "fitness" challenge at my gym. Required going at least 3 days a week and there is prixze money for top 3 weight loss for women and men. It was the kick in the pants I needed, and I am hoping to place. I lost 22.8 lbs officially, a bit over 12% total body weight. Pretty sure at least one to two pounds was water weight as I am technically up a half pound this week. I am super proud of my progress, but I also know it was an aggressive weight loss pace and I need to slow down and work towards sustained long term loss and maintenance.

This week my goal is to eat my calories, including eating back exercise calories if possible. baby steps.

Well, the scale was kinder to me than I deserved after the week of wanton debauchery at the eateries (and drinking holes) on Beale. LOL!
It was totally worth it, and I do not begrudge a 1.5 pound gain. Now back at work and back to the straight and narrow.

Looking for a good hot breakfast ideas under 250 calories. I've been doing Better Oats 100 calorie Maple and Brown sugar (1.5 pks) or 100 cal instant butter grits. I'm about to get really burned out and am in the mood for something cheesy and warm... Anyone have a good recipe?

Mine is very simple, I make one scrambled egg, cheese slice in a small whole wheat tortilla shell for 250. I have seen people do it with salsa on it and egg whites only to save some calories and cholesterol.

I was called back from the interview I had on Monday and have to go tomorrow to meet the owner and office manager. I am trying not to panic and let nerves take over, but I really want to be back to work so I’m not sure I’m winning the calm battle.

I also have to take an Excel and Word test and I realized I haven’t used Excel to it's potential for a long time, so I went to a friends today to practice. I still haven’t received the test though.

    FRIDAY

    Good morning, TGIF

Tracy - sending good thoughts for interview today. If you feel panic coming stop and take a deep breath. Smart for doing some practice on Excel.....

Rain possibly after work and into night, might get rained on in one dog walk....

Just tickled its Friday. Wave to all who follow.

Susan - Wow! your results from the boot camp are inspiring! I need someone to motivate me to get back in the gym.
Sara - Plan to do the fritatta this weekend.
Tracy, I can do that scramble during the week and will give that a try - Thanks.
Prayers to you for the job!!!! It is very encouraging that you were called back, and good work going to practice. I have an electronic edition of a good Excel... hmmm do you have Kindle? Try not to stress too much.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Happy Friday everyone. My current favorite breakfast is scrambled egg whites mixed with 2 T shredded cheese and 1 serving of steel cut oats. Its sounds a bit strange but is pretty good IMO. I think that comes in at 260 calories, with the cheese I use. If you used something reduced fat you may be able to get it under, or short the serving of oatmeal. It is super filling. Egg whites cheese and broccoli is my other go to for warm and cheesy. I am vegetarian so I sometimes also do morningstar veggie sausage, but I am realizing they are full of junk, so I am going to try to make some seitan sausage patties this weekend.

I did not completely succeed at eating back all my calories, and my protein was a bit low this week as well. I did however manage to lose another 1.5 lbs. I am a bit unsure where my goal weight should be, so I think I have 16 lbs to go but it may be more or less. I am aiming for a 30" waist.

    Happy Friday to All~~

I have to get to the store--I have nothing to make soup with, and soup helps me lose weight.

Which one of you peeps was looking for different breakfast ideas? Soup for breakfast is easy.

The Cabana Boys should be hosting a very nice Happy Hour later today~~

    TGIF- love those squirrel pics!
Supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow Happy Dance!
I love oatmeal for breakfast - steel cut. I make a pot with 5 servings in it on Sunday night. Put them in individual glass bowls in my fridge. One each day of the week. Rewarm and add a little syrup and walnuts - YUM! I have found that no breakfast lasts me long - I do take a walk every AM, so I think i wear it off fast. So by mid morning I have greek yogurt with fruit and walnuts again. So really the two combined are probably my breakfast.
    Have a great weekend everyone!
Headed to happy hour early - hope they start by 1....

Hello I’m back! Mfp went whacko and logged me out of everything but my phone and wouldn’t let me back in so I’ve been awol but keeping up with my meals the old fashioned way. I’ve been making a lot of lists and plans in a notebook a lot lately because of it.

Does anyone do comprehensive meal planning? If so,what and how much tuberware do you like to have? I feel like I run out of appropriate containers doing lunch and breakfast so fast it drives me insane.

I decorated the cubicles for Easter/Passover too though it’s super tacky ahahaha, but I’m loving it.

Meghan /Megan - a couple of people said that MFP was being a problem, glad you are able to post again.

I bought glass containers with plastic lids. I either mess up the tops or break the bottoms, so go figure.

Light rain kept dog walks to shorter ones. Want to read book and curl up with dog.

    Wishing all a good night.

I went for the second interview and feel it went well, I was with the two owners and the office manager for an hour and ten minutes. I think if they were uninterested they would have ended it sooner.

Now it’s just a wait and see game I guess, even if I don’t get it I feel that I learned a lot through the interviews and feel more confident how for another one.

I’m going to continue to practice some Excel and Word, it can’t hurt at all.

I’m glad it’s Friday even though my days run together, I at least don’t have to be on guard to expect a call.

Took my grandchildren for haircuts tonight with their mother. It was my granddaughter’s first, she is 3 and sat still for her Auntie to do it. My Grandson wanted a Young Sheldon cut. His hair doesn’t grow that way naturally so it will be fun to see how he does with it. He liked it.

Now I’m tired and ready for bed.
    Good night all.

I slept in, so hijack away......AWESOME job reaching your goal. I would dance but I might hurt myself, will do it in my head.

The next 5 of 6 days of rain and I said phooey and went back to sleep have to feed dog, so I took care of that. Rain should end by mid day so I can take dog for a longer walk then.

What to make for meals? The weekly question draws a big fat "0". Hope something inspires me.

ps saw link Kathryn, posted on my Knitting board as well. thank you

TWILEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOO!!! :):):) You go girl! You are amazing!

Tracy - EXCELLENT news on the job interview! You are right, employers do not tend to spend a great deal of time if they aren't really interested. Good luck and prayers in your direction.

Marcel! Welcome back! I wondered where you had gotten to. Yep MFP has been acting really weird lately.

Lynn - I meant to ask how the tree tapping went, and then you mentioned syrup and walnuts on your oatmeal - yumm. I do a breakfast, mid-morning (apple, yogurt...) low cal frozen lunch, mid-afternoon (cottage cheese, low cal popcorn...), dinner. If I don't do snacks I am ravenous and eat like a longshoreman.

Sara - I love that squirrel!!

Lana - I never thought about soup for breakfast, but I bet it would make a good addition to the mid-morning routine.

Susan - Good for you on the 1.5!! You can get this last 16.

Up early this morning and meeting my two running buddies (now walking buddies since we are all injured) on the Wolf River trails. Will try to post some pictures after. The trees are getting that "soft" look when the first buds start and the red-wood and pear trees are in full bloom. I think this is going to be a beautiful morning and I am looking forward to logging some miles.

Waves and high-fives to all that continue to work toward their goals! Hugs and prayers for those that need them. Thanks to a wonderful group of on-line friends. Suzu
