@stutba Same, my issue is often that my roommates cook around the time I'm settling in for bed which gives me the grumblies, and obviously the cycle will upset eating and exercise habits depending on how bad it hits.

I've been thinking, if maybe I kept some more substantial healthy snacks around (as opposed to the no snacks moratorium) would help because I like broke down and ate a bowl of croutons that was meant for my salads :( whoops... which I need to go and edit my food journal from yesterday. Usually I preload my journal with the 3 main meals that I have pre-portioned and know I'm going to eat, and then plug in snacks, coffee, etc.

@suzu_2 keeping a life journal sounds like a game changer

???? Steps Thursday (left fitbit charging and forgot to put it back on almost all day)
Did NOT get my dvd done last night. Got drawn into dealing with stuff with DH business. I plan on leaving my office door open and lights on but go to gym early today. That way I am sure to get my workout in and it still show that someone from our division is still here.
Was on track with eating yesterday, but then pizza - stuffed crust pizza to be exact. A huge weakness of mine. I may need to start making homemade pizza with a cauliflower crust. Does anyone have a good tried and true recipe for that?
Am dealing with new employees starting Monday. Am about ready to pull my hair out because I have to do briefing with them Monday but no one has done anything to set stuff up for them. Arrrrgh!
Lana - PeeP back atcha! :)
Sara - seems like there is someone like that at every job. :( Hey, which insect repellents did you end up going with?
Lynn - your pup looks so much like mine! Adorable!

Birdie - thanks for the subject and to all the comments. I agree with Suzu's journal. Life journal is important for many things, but for self realization - BIG. I have been experimenting, with the advice of my Dietician daughter the Intuitive Eating process. Really it is about no food being off limits, but we must lean WHY we are eating what and how much we eat. Instead of sitting down and eating, I am trying to train myself to ask - am I hungry, am I hungry for this, and most importantly - will this fuel my body to be the lean healthy person I deserve to be. Now...what that has done is I have stopped beating myself up about eating things I should not. I have given myself permission for them IF i really want them. I have found I can set aside more thing than I have in the past. I have not been losing a ton of weight. But maintaining. There is a difference between "skinny" people and me. It is a learned obsession with food. I am trying to relearn that. Anyway....long story short - remember the keep your mind in your eating. Think about each bite and enjoy each bite.
    Hello to all! Great conversation!

    Good morning All~~

Birdie, I am hearing you. Lots of good advice from the other ladies by the pool. Maybe you could PLAN a couple of higher-calorie days per week, and of course journal, and then see if, over many weeks, you still lose weight.

Does anyone remember the "Wendy Plan" which was a user-invented strategy used in the Weight Watchers community at the time, whereby one would purposely plan days of lower and higher Points? The thinking was that every day was different, so the body didn't get used to the exact same number of calories every day.

    Time for more coffee~~

Lynn what is your dogs name again?

Kathryn, I got Murphy's Spray and wax repellent (1 unit of each) no deet or citronella, it smells good enough to not drive me crazy or give me a headache. Have not truly tested it yet.

Birdie - you can list what you eat here and we can suggest options....? Just a thought.

At work luckily it is Friday

Miss Tillie is rather snobbish at times. She goes to groomer tomorrow so she will smell so good - groomer uses Pert.

    Wishing all a good night.

Morning all - DH was (supposed to be) sleeping early last night. Show 200 miles away and had to get up at 2:A to get there. I went to the movies and got a text about 1/2 way through. Comcast was burying cable and hit a water line right in front of our house. We live in a small cove and I got home to a back-hoe, jack-hammer, digging crew, cable and utility trucks. 3 yards flooded, 2 driveways dug up... they finally got it cut and a new pipe in about 3 this morning.
Poor Mr. Mick got about 2 hours total sleep - hope all goes well on the road today!!

I was feeling down second half of today - must be brain chems. I could not get myself to do any exercise or yard work. That actually would have helped my mood. I think I'm alone too much. It's a conundrum. But!....tomorrow is another day.

    Sleep well you all~~

Need to find healthy snacks again. Got case of munchies.

    SUNDAY

    Good morning,

Middle of night conversation in my head which proved or solved nothing but kept me up longer than a bathroom pit stop usually does has me changing my morning routine for more sleep.

    Groceries and cooking today.

    Good morning Sara~
I am with you on those pit stops that turn into middle of the night committee meetings, with me as the only actual participant. Rehashing and planning and ruminating and worrying and....... gah.
I hope that you got more sleep.

I just sat here with coffee and planned out my whole day of meals (in pencil). Time to go enter into this site and see what it "costs".

Waves to all who stop by later~~

    Morning All -
Yesterday I spent a cloudy, windy, and occasionally stormy day driving all over this end of the state visiting antique stores. Mick was out of town and I love finding neglected treasures that need some love. Found a beautiful little 3 drawer low dresser last weekend and went to pick that up. Was looking for a night stand to paint a pretty soft robin's egg blue, and got lucky and found one already painted the perfect color. Found 2 architectural side panels off an old church door that are ancient. Still have hand made square nails. They were almost giving all of these pieces away and I can't wait to get started redecorating this bedroom!

A girlfriend and I are thinking about going in halves together on a booth at one of our local antique malls. I think that would be a great retirement job!!

Yesterday was not a successful diet day and one of the very few days that I didn't log my food... will do better today and I am not going to weigh again until Tuesday.

Today is sunny and beautiful. Temperature dropped 15 degrees behind that storm yesterday, so jacket weather.
Hope all of you have a happy and blessed day!

So I think I joined too many groups and took on too many challenges.

I’m trying to do a couch to 5k with a race scheduled 6/1.
I start a weight loss program 4/6 - for 6 weeks to lose 20 lbs.
I joined a Pilates studio and have - 3 month contract plus 4 one-on-one sessions

I joined a lose 1 lb a week group on mfp which I have to participate in multiple times a week.
I joined a type 2 diabetes group on mfp which is not too much effort.
I joined an accountability group on mfp which I have to participate in 4 times a week

I am studying for various certifications and I have a kid very active in things which I have to volunteer in.

I think I over did it but I don’t know how to dial it back

    MONDAY

I'm baaaaaack! It has been a wonderful weekend. My Chapter worked hard, had fun, and enjoyed big success.

We learned a lot, at least I did. My Sisters surprised me with the Co-worker of the Year award! Our Chapter won the Membership Campaign Contest. I won a one-of-a-kind tumbler and my boyfriend won a huge stuffed Ferdinand the Bull in an auction. He won $200 on pull tabs (a card game where you open cards to reveal images.) And I won the grand prize drawing of $1500. How's that for a great weekend!

I did read most all the posts every day. @suzu_2 did you make it to Dyersburg or Union City? We have some really cute antique malls.

Now to the downer. I gained 5 lbs. I was not careful with my portions. However, I am slightly dehydrated and retaining water, so I will not let this derail me. Today begins the second segment of my 90-day Switch with Push for Your Better. That means the Keto Kickstart is my menu for the next three days. Hope to drop the five lbs plus some.

    Have a great Monday, folks!

My favoritest Grampa was born on April fools (:
My fool today was a totally dead car. No clue - battery obviously, but BAM, no warning no nothing. Dead. So my day started out late. Hoping that is the worst of it today!
And Sara - we could make fortunes if we could figure out an easy way to shut minds off at night. mine was 3 AM this morning. So frustrating. How come it does not listen when I tell it that we cannot solve this issue at 3 AM!
April showers bring May flowers - I cannot wait to start seeing flowers!
    Make it a great one!

    Back again so soon,
Suzu I just read your post. I am so in love with anything old with tons of character. Rusty chippy and neglected is my favorite. I would so love to have a booth with found treasures and repurpose. That sounds like a retirement dream.
    Bye again. Birdie

I did (not as much) same, when I first joined MFP. I was in about 5 different groups, took lots of my time. Finally, I decided, I can't keep track of it all. So, I landed here. I'm glad I did. There's lots of negativity in other groups. I have enough of that in my own head. Hope you find one or 2 things that really work for you. Hugs

    TUESDAY

    Good morning,

Rained yesterday - weathermen are getting humiliated by Mother Nature this year.

I do sleep will when I get 10k but my ankles do swell a little. Losing weight again would also help. Back on drinking water like a fish which has me awake middle of night, but again short term loss long term gain. Put kettle on had hot water bottle for eyes and it helped get me back to sleep as I hugged the hot water bottle.

Lurking from work. Wave to all who follow.

Morning all! Running crazy today. Wild week so far. Having a hard time getting steps in and watching the diet!!
5 1/2 hour meeting yesterday and catered in lunch so we could work through. This was not diet food!
Today we are doing a "best desserts" tasting round as a fund raiser for St Jude in honor or a co-workers little boy. I made my Mandarin Orange Cake last night and it is chilling in the fridge. going to try to stay out of the sweeties as much as possible today!!
Nephew and family coming in town today and spending the night - They want to hit our favorite BBQ joint, so BBQ Cornish game hen for me. Heading out of town on a business trip tomorrow early, so will check in as I can.
Lynn - I sure hope your day got better and today is a brighter one!
Twiley - you will get that 5 off and I'm so glad you had a wonderful time. You have been working so hard! I did not make it up to U.City this trip, but I plan to the next time I make a hospital run. ...hmmmm I may need to find an excuse to do that soon!
Birdie - as soon as I get this room finished I'm posting pics!
All - Have a great and blessed day. Value this little MFP family!
