Longest that you have been single for?

I met my husband at 19, engaged/had a baby at 20 and married at 21. I'm now 25.

Before I met hubby, I dated my highschool "sweetheart" for 2.5 years.... so maybe only a few months in between those two was I "single"? lol

Despite my one marriage, X number of boyfriends, and I don't know how many nice & disastrous dates, I haven't met the right man for me. My heart hasn't been fully captured.

So, I'm going with 37 years.

Two and a half years. I loved it! I got to do what I wanted, how I wanted to do it and when I wanted to do it.

My current boyfriend (been together a year) really REALLY had to convince me to date him because I loved doing my own thing so much.

I've been single a lot more often than not. I never really saw the appeal of being in a relationship just to be in one. I did have a five and a half year relationship, but other than that, I could measure it in years.

My first boyfriend was at age 19, ditched him after a couple months then started dating someone else. We broke up about 7 months later. Almost 6 years later is when I met my current boyfriend and we've been together for 4 years.

I have now been single for 6 years!!!!

After I ended a bad relationship with my daughters father i took 4 years out of the dating game completely to focus on being a mom. I've been dating now for 2 year and I'm ready to give up and get a bunch of cats.

You'll be single for even longer if you follow through on that cat idea.

Well, at this point. I'm happier being single, than dating. So no loss there.

i'd never been single for more than a couple of months. i had spent my whole adult life as part of a couple.

^^i'm still there. i've had i think about 4 months total unattached time as an adult. i like waking up next to someone. i like having someone with whom to consult. maybe too much...

I've dated, but haven't been in an actual relationship in over 3 years.
The guy I dated after my son's father was an abusive *kitten* so I've put boyfriends on the backburner... I dont have time or energy to deal with filtering men for myself, let alone for myself and my son.

I just got my first cat, so I'm thinking I have a solid future as a crazy cat lady.

11 1/2 years.

I did go on 5 dates in those 11 1/2 years, but they were dates as going to the movies, out for dinner etc. I don't think they count.

2+ years was the longest before i met baby daddy when I was 17 (im 30 now). After me and baby daddy split 4 years ago, this is the longest ive stayed single: 4 months and counting...

22 years. That's how old I was when I met and started dating my husband. Yep...my husband is my first "long term" relationship. I say "long term" because the longest I dated anyone before that was 2 months.

We've been together 13 years and married for 10.

If you mean as in not married, my whole life! If you mean as in not romantically involved with anyone in any capacity, probably no more than three months in a row since I started dating. If you mean as in not in a "serious" relationship, well, that's more subjective. Maybe up to a year in a row?
