@trooworld That's a good idea about adding the July goals to the bottom of our posts so we can remember them. Well, at least I need a reminder. lol Yes, everything else in my daughters apt is white but the kitchen where it's blue. She was like that with other apartments. She says cause she was in school and just came home to sleep basically. I told her turn this one into a home not a place to sleep. Everyone should have beauty around them. I think I'm going to be working on decluttering and organizing this summer. So what caused the gain? Maybe some of it is sodium bloat from the recent holiday eating.

@lulurebel I still say ya'll and technically I'm a Yankee from IL. Well, southern IL. My dad used to pronounce the word FIRE like FAR. But he also put an R in the word Wash. I'm going to go warsh my clothes. lol I used to love to make fun of him and now my kids make fun of me. lol The circle of life. Sorry about the Astro loss. I saw them in 2009. They lost then too. But baseball games are always exciting. I'm only single tracking on MFP now. I'm trying to do a moderate carb diet. I had prediabetes and in February finally got back to normal levels. Although I wonder if they took it now after vacation, where would I be. So working on that again. I started tracking here because I had to watch the carbs according to the doc. But it was too much to double track so I just single track.

@cbabie You know you always say I'm competitive but I'm really not. Unless it comes to certain games. I do have one flaw, If I can't win, why try. So once I get to a certain point in a game and it's a lost cause, I just go through the motions. No real strategy or anything. That's probably an awful attitude to have but...... dd and I constantly play games while we're together. She usually beats me too. I just had an interesting thought about my approach to winning and weight loss. Sorry you aren't sleeping but if you think about it you really never have. You've spent your entire life training for this one moment in time. lol It's just the pain that's the bummer. Have you looked into accupressure?

@Trishastime My dad was a cop and a pastor. He tried to save their souls at both ends, I always liked to say. lol I grew up a preacher's kid until I was about 16. Then he did both for a while. Then later retired from pastoring and went into policing full time til he retired. Speaking of retirement, I'm dreading the day hubby chooses that life path. It's getting close. I hear the first year is hard. Although I'm laughing now at my mom saying no every year is hard. She loved her alone time to just sew and do her thing. I like routine and hubby is more of an "in the moment" kind of guy when he's home. Work is different. But I'm learning to just say, I'll be with you when I finish what I'm doing. Put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others. That's my new mantra. So you asked yesterday how was I going to get back into my program, what was my plan, etc. I started re-reading my original 100 day journal notes. I did very well during that time. I had thought about going back to my food diary and just eating the same meals where possible and doing the exact same exercise. Planning is all done for me.

@LULUREBEL That's great that your little girl loved the baseball game. I understand not wanting to be on the computer when you are away from work. re: good luck with decorating...thank you, it's an ongoing process, I'm glad to know what to expect! :) I'm only using MFP (although I've double-tracked in the past, it was a lot of work!).

@cbabie I'm glad the pain is better. Yes, it is fun to put your own personality and style into my place! :) We want to put a "Ring" doorbell on the outside of the condo, we are debating whether to ask the condo association or just do it...we see someone else in the complex has one. Thank you for believing I will get back on track!

@TrishasTime Thank you, I'll get there. I'm sorry about the troubles with the Mr. I hope you enjoy the "me" time and that it rekindles feelings.

@theslightedgeforever Yeah, it's hard to get in that mindset of turning a place into a home when you don't own it and can't put your spin on things, I understand, but it can be done. What caused the gain? Eating snacks I think...chips and dip, cookies, etc. but I honestly don't think I was eating all that many snacks so some of it may be sodium. That's interesting about your dad being a cop and a pastor.

Hello gals. I have to be at work at 6 today, so this will be quick. I tracked everything yesterday (yay!). I have tracked breakfast and lunch today. So, I'm off to a great start.

@trooworld, Good for you for tracking!! You know that it has to be done. 😉 Your gain was probably water retention from the carbs in the chips, dip, and cookies. I used to think it was sodium that made me retain water until I started learning so much about what carbs do to the body.

@LULUREBEL, thanks! I hope Keto works for me too. I do track using my WW app just so I can rack up my Wellness Win points, but mostly I’m tracking my carbs on Carb Manager. I’m not that concerned with calories although I certainly try to keep them within a certain range because no matter what plan you are on if you eat too many calories your body won’t lose weight. :)

@cbabie, I sure pray you can find some rest soon! <3 Yes, tracking is key for me and I try to do it first thing in the morning. I usually know what I’m going to eat for the most part and I will go back and readjust after dinner.

@TrishasTime, sorry that things are rocky with you and your DH. I suppose it’s an adjustment getting used to having him around so much since he is retired. I have only known my DH as a retired, stay at home guy. I have been the one who goes out and works. Enjoy your time alone and do all the things you love to do that are just for you!! :)

@theslightedegeforever, Haha my dad also always added “R’s” to his words. Used to make my sister crazy! :D

I am going to Aldi's today and see if I can get some food at a cheaper price. I have heard good things about Aldi and looked up Keto and Aldi and there are lots of products that I can get. Eating low-carb and trying to eat high-quality food is expensive!! :s

@trooworld, I made my first Fathead pizza!!! Isn't it beautiful!! It was so filling we could only eat two pieces each, which gave me leftovers for the next day. It even tastes awesome microwaved! :DB)

@trooworld Great job on tracking. Awareness is always the first step. Get in your water so you can flush out that sodium. I'm loving my new fruit infusion water bottle.

@teresaw1020 I wonder if that carb/sodium theory only works with people who don't normally eat carbs. Then some higher carb foods are added in. But then like for people like me who always has carbs and I eat a bag of Doritios or tuna. I always add water weight when I eat tuna. Even the ones packed in water. That pizza looks really good. At first I thought the round things were tomatoes then realized even better it was pepperoni.

@TeresaW1020 It's something I constantly struggle with :( (The tracking). You are probably right about the carbs! Your Fathead pizza came out great, it looks just like regular pizza and I'm sure it was delicious! Now, I want to make some this week lol. I'm glad you liked it.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks. I think I definitely need to step up my water intake, I noticed yesterday that I didn't drink ANY water. I need to work on that water goal!

Hello gals. Everything was tracked yesterday (although in full disclosure, I tracked my dinner and snack from yesterday this morning!) and I pre-tracked my full day today this morning. I weighed myself this morning and it only went down a few ounces. :( But, I haven't been drinking water, so that may be why.

@trooworld The point is not when but if you did. Of course it helps to pre-track first thing in the morning. That way you know you won't go over. Although I hate going back and editing. Tonight at first glance I thought I went over but then realized I didn't eat something I had preplanned for breakfast and got to delete it. So I stayed within the boundaries. 3 days in a row. That's a record for me lately. So you work on the water goal and I'll work on the exercise goal.

@theslightedgeforever Yes, I guess it's my perfectionism coming out.

Hi gals. I did better on my water goal: I drank about 70 oz of water yesterday + 40 oz of coffee. I don't know if I told you guys this, but this week, we bought a bunch of easy meals from Trader Joe's rather than meal prepping on Sunday. I just don't have the energy to do meal preps anymore. :( We've had: Kung Pao Chicken + Spicy Beef and Broccoli over riced cauliflower; BBQ Turkey Meatballs + Broccoli and Cheese Tater Tots (the tots were from the grocery store); Chicken Fajitas Salad; and last night we had Cauliflower Gnocchi with Turkey Bolognese Sauce (this was my favorite). I think we are going to do this same type of thing next week with easy meals from TJs. It just frees up so much time.

I’m at the doctor with my oldest daughter - she has to get a cast today. No surgery as long as all heals up. It has been a super busy week at work and I’m just tired and stressed. Too tired for meal planning and getting up early for workouts. Most dinners have been ordered in at work. Kind of a fail this week in all aspects! Just wanted to say hi quickly and hope to catch up more with everyone later today!

Ps that fathead pizza looked amazing!

@trooworld the water stuff is hard. I have the same challenge. I’ve tried everything. Apps. Buying a nice water bottle (which I promptly forgot in a restaurant 1 day after buying it). Counting. It’s so hard. I’ve gotten better lately but that’s only bc of my trainer nagging me for like 2 yrs lol. He finally got in my head. And sometimes I still don’t drink enough.

Good luck with the tracking. When I am struggling with eating my compromise is what you want but at least track it. It’s hard- motivation does come and go in waves, I’m sure you will sort it out.

@TeresaW1020 that pizza looks fantastic. I make pizza at home but it never looks like that!

@TrishasTime I hope you enjoy your time alone. I live alone, so I totally get it lol.

@theslightedgeforever congrats on being in boundaries! It’s a start. That’s an interesting job duo- pastor and cop. I bet he has lots of interesting stories.

Well I am okay with calories this week so far, last week blew it. But my goal has been maintenance and for the last couple months I have been even though the calories go up and down.

My goal next month is to not splurge on everything at once. Ie on Friday I went out with a friend after work. I had 3 beers. Then on the way home I had macdonalds, a burger and an icecream. So if I had done only one of those things it would have been ok. But I think as soon as I have a beer, something inside me is like well now I’m eating everything, and it’s harder for me to control. I also want to cut back on drinking- I;ve got a couple friends we have been going out every couple of weeks. It’s nice, it’s just pubs and we drink and talk, but it’s the main reason why I can’t lose weight. It’s also expensive.

Exercise- I started sprinting yesterday and it was fun but hard, so I will keep to it for a couple weeks. I saw my trainer Tues and we did some deadlifts and other stuff and he said I’m getting stronger. Was able to do some lifts I couldn’t a couple weeks ago. Today I see him and it is probably arms day.

Tomorrow I will do the stairs and some core exercises, hopefully.

@its_cleo, I had to give up my beloved wine while I'm trying to lose weight, so I feel your pain!! ;) Maybe you can still go out with friends but maybe not to pubs. How about a coffee house? Your workouts always sound amazing! Yesterday, I got down on my hands and knees to wash my bathroom floor and today my butt and back of my legs are killing me. I have got to start doing some whole body workouts and not just treadmill walking. :#

@LULUREBEL, sometimes all you can do is keep your head above water and wait for life to settle back down. That is good news about your daughter not needing surgery. Thanks for checking in! :)

@trooworld, I LOVE TJ's Cauliflower Gnocchi!! <3 Good for you for drinking more water and tracking! :)

@theslightedgeforever, I used to gain when I ate tuna too but now I think it's because of the bread or crackers that I would have with it. That pizza I ate had a ton of sodium and I lost weight where if it had been on a regular crust my weight would have been up for sure. I do think it's important to figure out what works for our bodies. Good job on doing your tracking! :)

So, I lost 1.2 lbs yesterday at weigh-in. Woot!! B) Our topic was all about the dangers of saturated fats and how butter, bacon, red meat, cheese, and cream are to only be consumed in the tiniest amounts. She talked about how her grandma used to keep a can of bacon grease on her stove and how disgusting that was. I didn't speak up and say that I keep my bacon fat in a mason jar in the cabinet. :D I kept my mouth shut but it was hard! I wanted to say that the foods that they say are soooo bad are REAL foods and its when we mix them with refined sugar and flour that they become a problem. There is so much new science out there about saturated fats and how they are NOT bad for us, but WW is not there...yet and I'm going there for the scale accountability and not to follow Freestyle. I do wish I felt strong enough to just quit and not feel like I need that weekly weigh in. Maybe in time. :/

    Hello everyone

Sorry been MIA - have been having medical appointments with this foot. It seems I have a benign tumour inside my bone on the middle toe. The tumour is very close to the bottom of the foot bone and the bone itself is paper thin.

I just thought it was going to be like a cyst under the skin (something that can be popped). If the tumour is growing in size then it will break the bone and it will be like a foot fracture(surgery etc) if it is not growing then I would prefer to manage it. The foot specialist does not think that my ankle has corrected itself as there is still considerable swelling. The upside is - now I know what the issue is - I can deal rather than being angry at myself for not exercising through the pain. I will know more next Friday when I see him again

Teresw1020 - Way to go sister - nice loss there. My IF has gone out the window during this time - but back to it tomorrow. MMm... I am thinking you may clash a little with WW thinking.

its_cleo - It is said that alcohol weakens our resolve. Think how many stories you hear about 3am kebabs etc after partying all night. How is the work thing going?

@theslighteedgeforever - Great you are starting afresh on something that you were very successful at.

@trooworld - In full disclosure - to me it does not matter when you track it as long as you track it reliably - glad to see you are back on your path

@lulurebel - Sorry to hear you are having a super busy work. I hope you can some squeeze in some time for you

    Got to run

@trooworld That's good that you have found a way to eat healthily and get some extra free time to exercise and do other things you love.

@lulurebel You reminded me of all the days/nights I sat in the ER with my children waiting to have a cast put on. oldest-arm, wrist, and ankle middle- elbow youngest same elbow twice. I hope your daughter's heals up soon. So then this next week, you have room to make some progress. Not perfection but progress. That's what I'm shooting for right now.

@its_cleo I don't know why drinking water is so hard. I too have tried most things and have yet found one that will work consistently. I still try though. My latest is a new fruit infusion bottle. Maybe if it tasted a bit better that would work. Anyway those friends would do something together other than hang out in a pub? Maybe a hike or miniature golf, escape room, etc? Even once a month would be an improvement. I'm a social being so for me I know that I wouldn't give it up, but I had to find another way to deal with it while everyone is sitting around eating lots of calories. We even tried setting up a yoga class twice a month and they wanted to bring food so we can sit and eat afterwards. :shaking my head: Are you a cold turkey person or a gradually reduce person? Time to talk back to that little voice in your head. The one that says you've already blown it with the beers so it doesn't matter about McD's. What would you replace that voice with so it would be positive and help you? I drank more beer than I wanted to (sees golden Arches ahead) and ……..

@teresaw1020 Yeah, for more weight loss. Your plan is working. I agree on real foods versus processed foods. Although some of the real food they grow today is not like our grandmother's food. I think of it like the tobacco industry. Everyone used to smoke and then now it seems it's healthier not to smoke. It also comes down to food lobbyists I think. Plus wherever the trends take us. I've been around long enough that I've been through the Atkins phase, then low-fat, then low-carb, then South Beach, then it was all about Mediterranean Diet, then back to low-carb, now we're into keto and intermittent fasting phase. Everybody's genetics is different; add in lifestyle to that and finding the right plan to fit your body can be a long process. I was telling my friend today about intermittent fasting and keto. One of our friends did keto and is no longer on diabetes meds. It's been a year now. Her dr still wants her to take metformin because he's the kind of dr that believes once a diabetic always a diabetic. It's just now controlled. :rolling my eyes: Yeah, it's controlled through diet and exercise, not meds. Drs just want to keep us sick and paying them the big bucks.

Have any of you checked out the Fooducate app? I looked at it a long time ago but I guess wasn't ready for it back then. It tracks both calories and points at the same time. I'm thinking it uses the SmartPoints formula versus the Freestyle. I don't really know. But it gave 49 weeklies. The main thing I'm using it for is the evaluation and grading of the food products. Usually I just see a food as a calorie unit. Having a red D next to a food and then seeing why it was given that makes me think a bit longer on do I really want to eat that food? Plus it gives a breakdown of real food vs highly processed foods. (percentages) Then a timeline of what you eat, drink, move and it will show it in green, yellow, and red to see if you can spot any patterns. I'm going to try this tracker for a while instead of MFP and see if I can make better choices and lose some weight and bring down my blood sugar numbers even more. Plus my blood pressure.

@LULUREBEL That's good to no surgery, I hope all heals well. I used to meal prep every Sunday but lately have found I don't have energy or desire, so I'm starting to go to Trader Joe's and get easy things to throw together (see my last post). It's working out well. Maybe you could do something like that, or at least have a couple of things like that on hand for emergencies? The fathead pizza is really good...I make it all the time, just made it last night for dinner in fact! :)

@its_cleo Yes it is! I find that if I squirt some of that water flavoring in it, I drink more. Thanks. It's hard on the weekends, especially on Fridays, you want to just let loose lol.

@TeresaW1020 Yes, it's super yummy! :) I made fathead pizza last night, btw. ;) Congrats on the loss!!! One day, you might want to quit WW, but until you do, just get what you can out of it.

@TrishasTime Well that might explain some of the pain, right? I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you!

@theslightedgeforever Yes, I am enjoying the freedom. ;) I have checked out the Fooducate app. It's pretty cool but I always forget about it. Thanks for bringing it into my radar again. ;)

    Good morning!

@TrishasTime, ohhhh you poor foot!! :'( I sure do hope that it's not a growing tumor so you have to go through the ordeal of surgery! At least now you have a doctor who is figuring out what is wrong so hopefully, that will put you on the road to a full recovery. <3 Yes, I'm sure to clash with WW now that I've gone completely off the rails from their program. :D

@theslightedgeforever, Girl, I have also been around long enough to know all those diets and have tried most of them! :D I have read and watched many videos on how Type 2 Diabetes is completely reversible. Dr. Jason Fung has a whole book and several great videos on the topic. But you are right that mainstream medical professionals either don't want to know or refuse to accept the science that says anything different from what they have been practicing. Do you know that a doctor goes to school for 8 years and is only required to take one course in nutrition? That is crazy! :/ I haven't heard of that app but grading food is why I like Carb Manager so much. When I see the "F" grade I know that I better not eat it or like in the case of onions just be careful with my amounts. :)

This weekend is going to be a challenging eating weekend for me. Tonight, the staff is going over to the pastor's house for dinner and games. I have NO idea what we are eating, but I'm also OK with whatever it will be. I've been doing some reading about Keto and carb cycling and many people either take a week off or at least a day here and there. I don't want my body to get so used to not eating carbs that when I do it freaks out and makes me sick. So, I'm looking at tonight as a good thing. :) Then on Sunday we are having a new member class and having lunch. I have Barberitos catering their taco bar so as long as I stay away from the tortillas and cookies I should be fine. :)

@trooworld I think I'm going to take Sunday to meal prep for the week and plan each dinner. It is kind of hard doing it for the whole fam but it's the only way I can stick to it. Thanks for the tips! And the reminder I need to make a trip to Trader Joe's lol!

@theslightedgeforever Thank you! Good luck to you. It is a constant struggle but it's only a failure if we give up. I'm not giving up! I'll have to check out that app. The one thing I miss about WW is it made me eat healthy because you were so heavily penalized for unhealthy food. I'm slipping back into bad habits with calories in/calories out. That does not work as well for me as it used to. Flavored water is pretty much the only way I can get my son to drink water. Hopefully adding fruits like strawberries and watermelon will help.

@its_cleo Sounds like you have a great plan! I have skipped my workout the past few days but I'm determined to get back to it tomorrow.

@trishastime I'm glad they figured it out so now it can be dealt with. Best of luck getting through this.

Friends are coming over tonight so I'm hoping I can get a break to enjoy myself and not stress. But it's hard with a toddler running around! Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead!

    GM everyone

@theslightedgeforever - Unfortunately the apple store tells me Fooducate is not available for my region :( I am looking for another app - going to look at car manager today

@lulrebel - Hope you have a stress free night and can enjoy yourself

@trooworld - The pizza looks very nice, do you get the dough already made or do you make it yourself?

@teresaw1020 - Ir is great that you have a plan ready for both nights. Oh .. I ordered the scales you recommended and they have finally arrived at the delivery point, so I am excited to get them today

The food delivery has just come so I need to run (did I ever mention how I hate shopping) - LOL. DH filled up the spa (hot tub - I think for you guys) - looking forward to jumping when the water has heated later today

@Trishastime. Ouch on the tumor. Those can be so painful At least they found it. Ok back to your IF. Is it really cold there still? Check out Fooducate.com on your computer or laptop if you have one. I hate grocery shopping too. I was just thinking about delivery yesterday. But then thought it helps me get in some movement.

@trooworld did you get all your water in? I got a couple of glasses more in than I usually do today. Now to just repeat that.

@TeresaW1020 yes it’s all about the balance and real food. Tacos sound good. I made fajitas tonight

@LULUREBEL At least we’re doing something about it and sticking to it. What do you have planned for exercise for the weekend.

So I did something different than I normally do on my pancake days. Because of the Fooducate app I entered in my sugar free syrup and got a D+ 😳 I’m like but it’s sugar free. So I looked to see why. Highly processed, colorings, yada yada so instead I blended a cup of strawberries with a 1/2 packet of stevia and shared that with hubby. That got me an A plus higher score on real food. Then came the grape jelly. D+ I love PB and J I was eating it on a dinner roll. I swapped out 1/2 banana for the jelly to get me an A but it wasn’t as good. I only ate 2/3 of it. I guess one way to get me to eat less. By not eating the tablespoon of jelly that I would have, I also lowered my bad carbs % At least it’s making me more aware of what I’m eating versus if I have enough calories left for it

I walked 15 min and moved in the pool 15 min.

@LULUREBEL That's what I used to do, but I have a 2-3 hour commute each day, so very little free time, and it just became such a burden to meal prep. Good luck! :) I hope you have a good time with your friends and don't stress too much!

@TrishasTime We make it ourselves. The dough is made out of cheese, eggs, cream cheese and a little bit of coconut flour. That pic was actually TeresaW1020's but mine looks similar. That's nice that you have a hot tub...enjoy!

@theslightedgeforever I got MORE water in, but I did not get 100 oz in. Steps in the right direction. That is awesome what you did with the Fooducate app! WTG! And great job, with the exercise!

Hi all. I've got a very social weekend: I'm meeting my sis-in-law today, meeting my friend later today, then tomorrow, meeting a friend for fish tacos. My social anxiety is going to explode lol. I keep telling myself it's good for me to socialize.

@theslightedgeforever that’s interesting about the fooducate app. I should try it out. I also love PJ and J but only apricot jam. I also love PB and bananas. Sometimes in the winter I’ll make oatmeal and stir in a tablespoon of PB and sliced banana. Sounds like you got a bit of exercise in too

@TrishasTime that is terrible about your foot! So I know you went to a specialist- does that mean your first doctor missed it? I feel like doctors don’t really know what they’re doing half the time lol.
Work- oh I’m still waiting to hear about the job, my organization moves slow. But I know it wasn’t me.

@LULUREBEL I hope you have a good time with your friends….yep I imagine a toddler would keep you busy. I guess running after him is exercise though!

@TeresaW1020 I agree about ww and their perspective. It was one of the reasons I had a hard time using them, it just didn’t align with my beliefs around food. But it did help me with portion control.

Also about getting sore cleaning the bathroom- I do too lol. My trainer always says there is gym strength and then life strength. Just because someone can lift a weight up and down doesn’t mean they are strong in other areas…housework is pretty physical. So we try to do both- gym strength and functional strength, which is mostly correcting issues and weaknesses.

I did the stairs (5x100) & hillx4 yesterday and it was good. Some days I can’t finish it all, but yesterday I did. I’ve also starting to jog a bit the last 2 treks up the hill. I can only jog it about 30 seconds and then I’m winded. But I’m just trying to do a couple more steps each time. It really helps my breathing/circulation capacity.

Today going shopping to try to find a good throw for a new sofa set I bought. (I don’t like the colour of the set, but it was the only colour they had. I should have had something custom made but it was insanely expensive to do so).

I’m also going to the gym on my own. I will do:

    Legs:
    -deadlifts with kettlebells
-a hinging exercise for back/glutes. Hard to explain but if anyone is interested I can try to find a You tube video. It is to help me bc my back and glutes are weak and cause postural problems etc.
-hamstring roll on a stability ball. Not sure if this is the right name.

    Arms:
    -row with dumbbells
-2 tricep exercises. Trying to build up my triceps bc I still can’t do a proper pushup.

Food- way off track this week. Enough said.

    Have a great weekend!

@TrishasTime, I hope you like your new scales! How can you hate shopping? Shopping is life!! :D

@theslightedgeforever, I think that is awesome that you used your app to make better choices! I downloaded the app and gave it a try. It’s not as user friendly as Carb Manager but it was fun to see how my food measured up to Carb Manager. I got mostly B’s and C’s. :#

@trooworld, socializing is good for you so calm down and have fun!! <3

@its_cleo, great workout plans! Yes, I agree that with your trainer. When I took pictures that week for my church’s VBS my body hurt so bad because I was putting it in positions it wasn’t used to doing. A good lesson that we need to do all kinds of things to keep ourselves fit. :)

So, I survived my dinner at the bosses house last night. They had ordered food for a local restaurant and they had pineapple chicken, salad, corn, and rice. I mostly stuck with the chicken and salad and had just a tiny helping of the rice and corn. Ohhhh and one very small cheddar biscuit. Still a ton of carbs but tasty!! My good news is that I said no thank you to the banana pudding and happily drank my coffee while the other seven people ate their pudding. Of course, it helped that I'm not a fan of bananas. It was like God was looking out for me!! :D We played some silly games afterward and had a great time!

@theslightedgeforever - Yes it is cold (well I am). The sun is shining and I feel that if I moved, I would get warm. At least it is not raining. I thought the whole idea on fooducate was to check it before eating. I just tried my desktop (google app) and it is not available either :(

@teresaw1020 - each to their own as far as shopping is concerned :) I tried carb manager and it shows different calories to MFP. I have premium on MFP and can go to the macros etc. I think it is better for me to try to choose wise macros and learn from there. Being a systems person, I am on a computer all day and hate entering data, so I feel I need to choose one only

@trooworld - I am with you there - too much socialisation drives me crazy. I stressed over the fact that we were going on a caravan trip with other people and I would have to be with them 14 hours a day. I crave my time on myself. I hope you had a good time anyway

@its_cleo - I do not think that the doctor missed it as much as the foot specialist is trained further into the foot. I hope you find the colour of the throw you want.

Today is all about finding all the things that the foot specialist has advised. All the things that allow me to manage this pain and still do want I want to do in moderation - let's just say running is out but a brisk walk may be nice - no hang it - I would like to be able to walk for more than 20 minutes without pain :)

@TeresaW1020 Good for you for passing up the banana pudding. That would have been hard for me. I love it with the little vanilla wafers in it. Sounds like you did well. I agree about the user friendliness of app. Plus the database isn't as good as MFP. I wish MFP would do everything the other one does. I've been getting B to B+ grades overall each day. But I still have a lot of foods that are C's.

@trishastime When fooducate first came out that's what it was used for. Checking to see what your food choices was. Then it seems they have developed a whole community like they have here and put in a food/exercise tracker. It also gives a place on there to add your mood and hunger scale. I'm cold when most people are not, and hot when most people are not. On your foot tumor, I spent two years going to doctors in search of the cause of my extreme thumb pain. Finally when I saw an orthopedic guy he immediately said oh you have a glomus tumor. But to be sure, let's do an MRI or CT scan. I can't remember now. So much time wasted in pain.

@trooworld Socialization is good unless it always involves bad or too much food. I've seen studies that say people live longer with more socialization. Everyone has to find their balance.

@its_cleo When I moved my daugther this summer, I could tell how much strength I have lost versus other moves I have participated in. I tell them quit moving. I'm tired of helping. So I want to work on my strength for those types of things. Plus be flexible enough to be able to sit on the floor and play with my grandkids one day and not have to worry about getting back up. I know some people who won't sit on the floor. Ok, start small but get back on track with your food. One meal. Which meal will you choose?

OK, so I stayed within my food boundaries. Walked for 50 min. Needed more water. But I'm headed in the right direction.

@its_cleo Good luck shopping for the throw. Sometimes accents make all the difference! :)

@TeresaW1020 lol...I survived yesterday, maybe because one of my plans postponed until Monday! :) But today, I go for fish tacos. You did great at the dinner, congrats!

@TrishasTime Oh that caravan trip would drive me crazy! Yes, I did have a good time and we were able to treat my sister-in-law to brunch and adult beverages which was nice to be able to do. I hope you are able to walk for more than 20 minutes without pain soon. :)

@theslightedgeforever I had half of a bagel with smoked salmon and chopped tomatoes and cream cheese. Not the best, but not the worst either. Plus, I had 16 oz of mimosas. I did not track yesterday at all. :(

Ok gals, I am going to track today, period. PERIOD. I have not tracked for about 3 days. It just feels like such a chore. I'm failing miserably at my July goals! :(

@TeresaW1020 that's great on skipping the pudding! I've never had banana pudding actually but I do like bananas.

@TrishasTime entering data can indeed be a pain. I do calories on mfp, but that's about it. I really hope your foot starts to recover.

@theslightedgeforever that's a great goal re getting on the floor with your grandkids. I actually read last week that being able to sit on the floor and get up without using your hands is a good measure of overall health. So if you can do it and get up with your hands that is probably a step in the right direction....yeah mobility overall is huge. I am terrified of being elderly and not having good mobility. This is one of the reasons why I exercise so much.

@trooworld good luck with the tracking. It can be a pain for sure.

The throw- well my living room is neutral colour with a lot of wood furniture, very rich brown not too dark or light. I have some stone inlay on my coffee tables....I like natural things. So I got a brown throw but I didn't like the look of it. So I got a nice cotton one, nice texture and cream coloured. If I liked it then I'll get a couple pillows, maybe dark green...Bc I live alone I'm not very good at decorating. For example I have zero pictures on my walls lol. But I am slowly chipping away and trying to make it a nice place for me.

So this is the start of a new four week period for me. The good news- for three months I've been on maintenance and my weight has fluctuated but overall today is identical to where I started. My calories have fluctuated wildly but overall, looking at weekly averages, I have very slowly adjusted down. So this is good news. Because I only have 20 or 30 lbs more to go sometimes my motivation is low, but I'm sticking with it.

@trooworld meant to say thanks for sharing the recipe sites I checked it out. I like sites with weekly meal plans, never thought of that before so I am checking those out.

Quiet weekend here, hope everyone is doing well. Today- making some meals for the week and then going for a jog/sprint session.

@theslightedgeforever - I am one of those people who do not do the floor thing (LOL). I do not have enough strength in my muscles to get back up. So glad you are heading in the right direction.

@trooworld - You know what you ate and drank yesterday, so track it now. Do not wait another day. If you get caught and are unable to track, take a picture of your plate and work it out later. It is still tracking.

@its_cleo - mobility frightens me too, however, there are always alternatives to doing the normal thing - as long as you can be mobile and achieve what you need to do :) I am glad you are doing well on maintenance.

This week is busy again with meetings for tax, foot specialist, physio and remedial massage. Working through it all - looking for a light at the end for this foot issue. The ankle/foot support should arrive tomorrow and then I am hoping it to be easier

@trooworld I think you did well with 1/2 bagel plus you got some protein and a veggie. I would have had whole bagel with cream cheese. lol So is your current way of tracking too hard? Which format do you use?

@its_cleo You are missing out if you've never had classic banana pudding. I don't like banana flavored pudding. But just the vanilla kind with sliced bananas. Now I'm eating vanilla yogurt to be a bit healthier. Take a look at Houzz.com You can browse any room and they give you ideas for that room. Then you can save it to a "board". Kind of like Pinterest. I have boards for every room in my house plus my outside front and outside back areas. You can save a pic and write what you like about the pic. I've used that so later when I go shopping for decor, I know exactly what I want. I know it will look good. I have a gray couch so I thought gold/yellow would look good since I was seeing that color everywhere it seemed. So I typed in Living Room, gray and gold and it brought up hundreds of pics for me to browse through. Sometime just seeing how they added a splash of color in a small vase or table stand. I'll work on that getting up off the floor without using my hands. I'm at the place of use the couch or chair. lol

My battery is about to die on this laptop, so I'll finish up on my phone.

@trishastime LOL on the floor. Now you have a new goal. I have watched my father and now my mil. I don’t want to be them

I stayed within calories and met my water goal. Tracked my food No exercise. The big sticker continues to elude me.

I lost 1 lb this week.

@its_cleo This ice cream shop that I went to yesterday makes amazing banana pudding ice cream. :) Thanks re: tracking. I did not track once again yesterday. :/ Your living room sounds nice, you just need some pics on the wall. That's an easy fix. My hubby and I got a nice print off art.com for a reasonable price, we got it shipped already framed with plexiglass on it. It looks really nice. Good luck with your search! That's great that you've been able to go down while at maintenance. Or do you mean your calories have adjusted down? You are welcome for the sites! :)

@TrishasTime I am short on time just now, but I will try to track when I get to work. Best of luck with the ankle/foot support.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks. I use MFP using the website on my computer or my phone. Congrats on losing the lb, that's great!

Hi all. Just a quick note to say I had a great weekend. I'm up a lb over last week. :(
