Hi all, I’m not sure I can keep up with all of you. But please know I am reading all the posts. I just usually can’t do it daily. So here’s my shoutouts. Yay on the shift change! Green would kill me but so would blue. I have 3 days left of WW since I cancelled it. If you cancel make sure you use up your wellness wins. I got 3 pairs of socks and donated the rest of mine to charity (I guess WW buys fruits and veges for charity with the points). @cbabie a baby monitor while your using the treadmill? Or the techie in me would do FaceTime with my phone and iPad. @mswatson0777 I hope you’re loving your weekend or relaxing. 👋 to all.
Yesterday we were supposed to go on a road trip to get my puppy (avatar) and pick her up this morning. Since I’m typing here, bet you all can guess that didn’t happen. Mishka got sick and the Breeder postponed the transfer and took her to the vet. She’s doing much better but we’re playing it by ear. I will say that taking yesterday off for what turned out to be no reason was awesome and relaxing. I have 3 other doggies and it was beyond wonderful to play with them, quilt, and visit my grandkids. DH’s birthday is tomorrow and I made him German chocolate cake. I think one piece on WW would use the entire’s day of points. At least with calories I can budget them in. I am liking leaving WW behind but I still won’t sell my stock because they made a dent in my brain of eating better. No other plan did that. That said, I was showing my DH this morning the calories of a caramel candy (140 calls) and that on WW it was 11 points. And then my muscle milk light was 100 calls and 1 point. I get the fat and sugar aren’t healthy, but 10 point difference for the 40 cal difference? It is interesting to see how the calls and points differ. BTW, I know that one of you wrote about green being 17 points but you’d use 5 weeklies daily. If you decide you want green and the 22 points, change your program to maintaining to bump the points up. I had to do that when they went from smart points to freestyle because I’m deadly allergic to the majority of the stuff they put on the free list. Then I added my foods that were free back in with the points. I found that way the best to manipulate the app some.

@cbabie I hope you make it to the park and have a nice time. I hope you feel better- I’m sorry for the loss of your dad.

@mswatson0777 sounds like a nice weekend. I’m glad you sound a little less stressed. Are you taking classes all summer? How low carb are you going? It’s ironic I’ve just been checking my weekly macros over the last few months. I can’t do low carb, and noticing that I start to feel sick and/or shaky if I’m at 100grams. So I usually eat more than that. But a lot of it is fruits and vegetables and beans. And some bread I admit it!

@trooworld I hope you have a great 5k. I’ve never done one either walking or running. I think there is one here in May and I’m considering it.

@the slightedgeforever- wow 1,9 lbs! That is fantastic!

@TeresaW1020 wow on the 15lb-ers! Good for you, you will adjust in no time.
Seems like a lot of people have been busy. I’ve been busy working, and have to work tomorrow too but hopefully just for a couple of hours. Next week will be busy and then hopefully a break.
I’ve been doing ok with calories this week. I went out with a friend for dinner and I had 3 drinks (we went to hear a band play for a couple hours) but I managed to stay within my calorie limits for the week.

Exercising a lot this week. Today I did the stairs/hill and some core at the gym. I’m still very limited with my upper body bc of my arm.

My computer was struggling so I got a new part and after a couple of hiccups it seems ok. I’m sooo relieved bc I did not want to buy a new computer.

I’m dead tired after all the exercising today and will flake out and watch tv. Tomorrow is an off day, not sure what I will do. I don’t like the Daylight Savings Time and losing an hour sleep…

Cold today but beautiful sunny day and birds were chirping and I feel like winter is leaving so yay.

I’ve been doing MFP for 4 Days. I love the app it is similar to WW. I am looking forward to chatting with some of you. I just can’t stay on WW for some reason , but MFP seems like a winner to me!

@teresaw1020 I think this move will be a good move for you mom. You will be such a good role model for her with your eating and exercising.

@cbabie Isn't perception an interesting thing? When I think of March I think of springtime and happy thoughts. When I read your post about dad I thought oh. Now the profile pic change on FB makes sense. Did you get your fruit this weekend? Your new schedule sounds wonderful. What would be great is if the baby would learn how to entertain herself when she first wakes up. Maybe leave a book in her crib to look at. That way you can have a few more minutes of me time to get in more exercise. You'll hear her eventually if she doesn't grab your attention at first. Plus it's a good life lesson. I was smiling thinking about your dh walking around with his coffee cup in his hand.

@trooworld you are still going strong I see. Good for you. Woohoo on your weight loss. Did you do the 5K?

@mswatson0777 So have you figured out the hunger level balance thing? You sound like you are really trying to find your balance on this. Which of course is sustainable. That's the key. What movie did you end up watching? I think feeling accomplished is the best feeling.

@joannadavison Just keep working on those weekends. I like eating higher on Thurs and Saturday so I lower my carbs/calories on the other days to make up for it. Kind of a win win for me as long as I stick to the boundaries. That's great that you are still tracking.

@renaegry Woohoo for all your movement you put into your life this week. I love springtime because as it starts warming up I get just a little bit more motivated. Then all the pretty flowers start appearing. Winter is so depressing. You can reach that goal. Step by step.

@mariechinander My two cents on group posting is do what you can do. No guilt. I used to have a 5 person rule where even if there were 20 people posting I would respond to the first 5 and say Hi to everyone else. Sometimes it got cut down to 3 and like this weekend it got cut down to a Quick check in.....and it was all about me. Sometimes we have more time sometimes we don't. At one point on another group I was sitting responding to people that I realized I was just SITTING. Not up moving my body. That doesn't help me lose weight. Do what you can do. Great tip about bumping up the points on WW. There's always a way to tweak a program to suit our lifestyles. Happy Bday to your hubby.

@its_cleo Good for you for staying within your calorie range this week. You are getting better and better at that. I think they should do away with the whole Daylight Savings thing.

@cpautism24 Welcome to the group! We are chatty at times but you'll find lots of support here.

@theslightedgeforever, mom is already down 3 lbs and has been walking on the treadmill. She was up to 8 minutes on Friday. :)

@its_cleo, I don’t like the Daylight Saving Time either!! DH likes to open up the blinds first thing in the morning and I came out into the living room griping at him that the neighbors don’t need the view of seeing me in my robe! :o I am also longing for spring and the end of winter…and rain!! Good for you for staying within your calories. I’m doing my best to stay within my WW points but it’s hard! :/

@mariechinander, I hope that going off WW will work for you and that you will love calorie counting. I’ve been all over the place with counting calories, not counting anything and now back to WW. As we all know all plans will work if we work the plan. I’m just hoping that this time WW will work for me. Your puppy Mishka is adorable!! I hope you get to pick her up soon. :)

@cbabie, ((hugs)) to you my friend! <3

@tooworld, let’s make it a great week!! Go GREEN!!! B)

@joannadavison, take care of yourself! <3

@mswatson0777, you are doing all the right things with your planning and making sure that you get in your electrolytes in, which will help with that foggy feeling. You just have to give your body time to adjust to the change. :)

Good morning! I got a terrible sore throat on Friday and didn’t do anything yesterday but rest and start a new jigsaw puzzle. It’s much better today, which is good because this is mom’s first Sunday to come to church with us. I’ve decided to create my own workout calendar that will take from two of the BOD programs and walking on my treadmill. Until I get more weight off, I have to stop doing BOD leg workouts because they are tearing up my knees. So, leg days will be mostly treadmill walks and I will continue with my upper body weights and the 80 Day Obsession Booty workouts. Maybe that will work! ;)

Morning all! I only got 10 min on the treadmill this morning. Babygirl work up early. She is sitting on the couch watching Veggietales, but if I go outside she will want to come. So I have to wait until DH is up and can help. I have to get this weight off as I feel "fat and stuffed" even though I am under my WW goal, but that goal was set a least 10 years ago..So it's time to set a new goal. LOL . I know with age we should carry a little more weight, but I feel better with less. I know that the tracking is the most important thing I can do..When I track I lose. PERIOD!!

@TeresaW1020 So happy you and your mom are doing health and life together!!! Yes please take care of your knees, you only get 1 pair and knee replacement is not on my list of things to do..LOL

@trooworld yea on the loss and you sound like the old you..LOL

@CPAUTISM24 Welcome!! Yes we do chat a lot, but you will find lots of encouragement and even laughter..LOL You can take this group at your own pace.

@its_cleo We don't do DS here!!! So I have to keep remembering where people are and what time it is..LOL

@mariechinander Yes the tech in me...I have the baby monitor..I had to go get her this morning before finishing..but I am for sure going to try to get back on when my DH gets up if he does before I have to get ready for church.

Good morning. Cold and snowing here. Trying to find the ambition to leave my chair and go get an hour of book work in. Not sure if any exercise will fit into the day today. Daughter has gymnastics from 3-6 plus it’s a 30 min drive. If anything will just do a day of squat challenge. Then back to the norm fitness class Monday and Wednesday and treadmill Tuesday and Thursday.

@mariechinander that is one of the main reasons I cancelled WW as well. I found some of the point calculations extremely discouraging. I still have it till the beginning of April but really haven’t been using it. I paid for premium here and really try to track my macros. Hopefully this and spring will be the answer.

@TeresaW1020 I started a puzzle ages ago. The Vegas strip. I should really sit down and finish it one day.

@trooworld way to go on the loss. That’s awesome.

@trooworld that is so great on the 5 km!

    hly4o5wpun4o.png

I signed up for a 5km today too. I've never done it before, I will be pretty slow. I signed up to be in the last AKA slowest group. But I'm hoping it will just be fun. It's in May.

@cbabie glad to hear you got some time in the treadmills. VeggieTales what is that?

@TeresaW1020 that is cool your mom is using the treadmill. Good for her. I hope your sore throat clears up. I think you have a good approach with the WW and the exercise. You will gradually get back to where you want to be. Lol about the robe. I live on the 10th floor and sometimes I leave my curtains open and I probably shouldn't. But there is a 4 lane road between me and the next building.

@theslightedgeforever congrats staying on plan and on a green day. Yeah sitting in front of a computer or phone too much is not good. That's why I'm here less if I'm working a lot, I just can't sit in front of the screen any further.

@CPAUTISM24 welcome! And welcome to @mariechinander and any other newcomers I missed.

Well my weight is down .5 this week, and I can't believe it, it's at the lowest point it's ever been. I feel really good. @theslightedgeforever when you said you were a chocolate cake snob- man, that has stayed with me! I've been getting more choosy about my indulgences because if I'm going to have cals it needs to be good.

A lighter week exercise for me, about 6 activities. The last two weeks was 8 or 9.

    Take care all

@its_cleo- Good for you, a 5k sounds like fun. I've been thinking of signing up for one for awhile, but I never get around to it.

@trooworld - three pounds is hard work! I really slack on the exercise

@cbabie- When you track you lose, it's the truth. I've fallen away from it a bit in the last couple of weeks, but I know how important it is

@TeresaW1020- I admire your commitment to exercise. I just don't have right now, but it's a future goal of mine. Baby steps.

@CPAUTISM24- Welcome! I'm pretty new to MFP also

I've been struggling to keep my food logged, but I'm making more of an effort again. It's hard when my husband cooks because I'm not sure how to log what he does. I've kept up with my 30 minute walk during my lunch break, even when the weather is terrible, no kidding, I've worn snow-pants at work to walk when it's below zero. It's the one and only exercise I get. I did great calorie wise all week, but this weekend, not so great, I don't know why. However I'm still doing better than before I started using this app.

We had our time change, so tomorrow I have to be at work at 6:00 am, which is really 5:00 am for my mind and body, ugh. I'd like to go for a walk after work, but I work long hours, and come home eat a quick dinner and I'm pretty much off to bed. You all inspire me though to focus on my goal, which is health, which means being more active.

@teresaw1020 Wow look at your mom go.....you both will be motivation for each other. Just keep tweaking your exercise program until you figure out what works for your body. We need our knees.

@cbabie Good for you for getting on the treadmill again. That plus checking in here are becoming habits.

@trooworld The point on the 5K is that you finished. If you do it again, you can work on reducing your time. Great job on the water.

@renaegry Still snowing? :( I'm trying to get my mind into spring mode. Two flies were mating on my car window and it reminded me of the word twitterpated and Thumper in Bambi. Ah Springtime.....although I just realized I'm showing my age. If I asked my kids what the word twitterpated was they would think it had to do with the social media platform. lol Sneak in small rounds of exercise when you can. I'm trying to change my relationship with exercise and think about it differently.

@its_cleo Love the graphic. I've only done one 5K about 8-9 years ago. It was a WW 5K. My goal was to do it in under an hour. Which I came in at 58.something lol I was about 44 lbs heavier then. In my dreams I can run the whole way. But for now, I'd have to walk it with spurts of jogging. Woohoo on your lowest weight. Doesn't that feel really good? Chocolate cake snob. lol It's true though, right? I threw away something the other day (can't remember what it was). I took a bite and said Meh. Then thought maybe the second bite will be better. Nope so in the trash it went. Old slightedge would never throw away and waste the food. Old slightedge used to be 44 lbs heavier too.

@nighthazel01 Just keep working at the tracking. I've given up trying to do it "perfectly" when I don't know exactly what is in the food I'm eating but "close enough" is good enough for me. I lost weight that way. I've been aiming for the middle calories on MFP and it seems to adjust itself somehow. It keeps me in the habit of tracking each meal. If your hubby follows a recipe then you can upload that recipe to MFP and you'll be able to use it again the next time. When I have a new recipe that's what I do. Importing the recipe is easy. If the recipe says 6 servings I immediately divide the finished product into 6 and take my part before the rest of the family starts theirs. The whole house knows now STOP let mom go first so she can measure and weigh. lol Then STOP mom has to enter her food if I haven't preplanned it. They are getting used to me. You are doing an excellent job with your exercise. You inspire me. I wear a mantra band that says no excuses. Evidently I have alot of them.

@cbabie, good for you for getting on your treadmill! And you are right that tracking is the most important part of weight loss. I have really been trying to make myself track first thing in the morning. Now the goal is to stay under my WW points and not over them. ;)

@trooworld, that is great that you are down 3 lbs.! B) I’m happy you have a leader that you like. I would probably still be going to WW meetings if I hadn’t lost my leader. Yayyyy for finishing the 5K!! I hope your plantar fasciitis doesn’t do another flare-up. My mom is trying to lose weight. She needs to lose about 40 lbs. and is very happy that I cook mostly healthy meals.

@renaegry, I’ve seen a puzzle of the Vegas strip before that is 2000 pieces. I want to do that!! :D

@nighthazel01, doing exercise does require baby steps and determination to do it. Don’t count yourself short! Doing a 30-minute walk is exercise and it’s soooo good for you! Tracking can be hard when you don’t know exactly what foods to track but when I am faced with that I just give my best guess. At least I’m tracking something. ;)

@theslightedgeforever, yes we need our knees! It frustrates me that I can't do the exercise I want but I have to use some wisdom so hopefully my new plan will give me good results and as I lose weight I can go back to squats, lunges and other contortion that those trainers like to make us do. :D Do you know that for every pound we lose we take off 4 lbs of pressure from our knees? I bet you knew that already. ;)

Good morning! My tonsillitis (yup that was my self-diagnosis after going on Webmd ;) ) has cleared up and I’m ready for a busy week. Mom and I tried to fill out the forms that will transfer her medical and it’s over our heads so I have tasked her with making some phone calls and seeing if we can get some assistance. We both just want all the business stuff done and over! The good news is that the scale was down this morning and I’m determined to have a good week with NO gain! Have a good day! :)

Morning Ladies! I'm officially on day 2 of low carb, and I feel much better today than I did yesterday so I'm hopeful my "keto flu" feelings will be minimal. So far my hunger is also much lower than it has been, so I'm thinking this change might be a positive one! My friend also gifted me with all of her low carb baking supplies, which was greatly appreciated since they cost a fortune and my grocery bill was already significantly higher than it normally is. But I'm feeling good about all the healthy food I purchased.

@TeresaW1020 I'm glad you're feeling better! And even better that the scale is going down, way to go!

@trooworld Glad your husband was able to help you with meal prep, that's fantastic! And I'm glad your 5K went well, I hope you're able to get lots of rest in.

@nighthazel01 The time change is the worst! Is there a way you can ask your husband what he puts in dishes so you can get an estimate? I always think an estimate is better than nothing.

@its_cleo I'll be rooting for you on your 5K, that's awesome! I'm not doing super low carb, I'm trying for around 50 a day to see how I feel. If I don't feel well after a week or so, I'm switching back, but I figured I needed to do something with how high my hunger levels have been. And I do classes year round, summer is usually the worst since it's a shorter term (yuck).

@renaegry It's so hard to get going when it's cold and snowy.

@cbabie Congrats on still being under the goal you set years ago, that is amazing! And I love that you're able to set a new goal based on what you feel is best for you now.

@theslightedgeforever I really am trying to be sustainable, while making healthy choices. I know women especially move to higher fat and protein and lower carb as they age due to changing nutrition needs, so maybe I'm just hitting that point? And we did a 90s flashback night with The Mummy and Tremors, we had a blast laughing at the old effects!

    Welcome @CPAUTISM24

@mariechinander I'm so glad this app is more workable for you. I'm all about balance and finding what works best for you!

@theslightedgeforever The last time I counted calories (before WW), I came up my motto to never eat anything I didn’t really like. The cookie is only 150 cals but is meh, then toss it. I’ve followed that motto for about 10 years. Sadly I really like a lot of sweets 😆. It went with my other motto that if I wanted to snack, I had to ask myself it I will feel satisfied 10 minutes after I eat something. If the answer is no, then I really try to convince myself not to eat. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. So I’m with you. I’d have tossed the meh cake.
For all that had to switch to Daylight Savings Time, I’m with you that I hate it. Hate, hate hate it. It should be outlawed.
So I have a Fitbit and I get a lot of steps. But the MFP exercise cals is about as illogical as it can get. It is sync’ing fine but here’s some examples. Today so far I have 12.6K steps and MFP says 412 calories. Yesterday was 13.8K and MFP says 444 cals. So far so good. But on Saturday I had 12K steps and MFP says 12 calories. Total. TWELVE. Huh? Friday was 11.2K steps and 149 cals. Thursday was 13.2K steps and 102 cals. And last example Wednesday was 14.8K steps and it says 434 cals. Does the program use a dart board? Because it certainly isn’t scientific or remotely accurate. I’m still stunned but the 12 calories for 12,000 steps. Then there is the flip side. It is pretty entertaining.

@huskymarie I'm with you, daylight savings time is the worst. I hope our state gets rid of it soon. And I'm hopeful that you get to pick up Mishka on Wednesday!

@theslightedgeforever I always hate it when I forget to track something. At least it was only by one point.

@trooworld I'm glad you're starting to feel like your old self. I won't know if this works for awhile, but so far so good.

I woke up this morning ravenous, which was a shame because my hunger levels seemed pretty stable yesterday overall. I've been reading some forums that say the initial switch to low carb makes you more hungry at first but then it evens out? Does anyone have experience with this? I'm still not married to this idea for the long term, so my plan is still to do this for two weeks and re-evaluate. At least my energy levels haven't suffered too bad. I was able to make it through my jiu jitsu class just fine last night without a crash and for day three I haven't had any crazy cravings. I don't have any motivation at work...but honestly I don't blame that on the carbs! Happy Tuesday all!

@mswatson0777, I don’t remember being ravenous but I’m old so my memory isn’t what it used to be. :D Are you getting in enough good fats? It can feel overwhelming to eat that much fat when you start low carb but it’s a must. ;)

@trooworld, yayyy for pre-tracking! I’ve been making sure that it’s the first thing I do when I turn on my computer. We can always go back and tweak as needed. :)

@theslightedgeforever, well at least that sneaky egg didn’t do too much damage. :p

Hey everyone! I got up early today and mom and I went and changed her driver’s license, made her a doctor’s appointment for next week, and did some shopping. She took me to Chic-Fil-A for lunch so I have to be super careful with my dinner tonight or my points will be wayyy over. :# My friends had their baby two days ago and he passed away last night. He was a beautiful boy and we are all so thankful that the baby lived for much longer than expected. His parents will cherish the time they had with him forever. My heart breaks for them so much. :'( I’m off to workout and then drink some coffee!

@trooworld I find that water and decluttering go by the wayside when I'm busy. So I have to come up with a solution to change that. You finished the 5K, had fun, and moved your body. Win-win all over the place. Yes consistency is your friend. (telling myself that too)

@teresaw1020 Yes tracking is the easy part, staying within bounds is a bit harder. I used to do so well. Today was not one of those days. Need to go back and revisit the moment I lost control of the steering wheel. I knew we took pressure off our knees but didn't know the exact number. So thanks for that info. I learned something new from you. I'm glad your throat is feeling better. Feeling sad for your friends. Sometimes it's hard to understand the whys of it all. Hooray for your pretracking

@mswatson0777 Any little change we do towards a healthier life is a good one. It never has to be all or nothing. Crazy thing that my oldest son used to do better in summer classes. Sometimes he would have to retake the same class and big difference in his grade. I think for him it was a shorter amount of time to retain all the material in his brain. lol Although I work better under pressure too. So there's that. Maybe it's inherited. ;) Feeling ravenous the next day....could some be physcological versus physiological? I know that when I have a red day at 100 carbs I wake up feeling like I could eat my house out but I know its all in my head. But that's where most of our problems with weight loss live. If we could just fix and change our thinking, the body will follow. (my theory)

@huskymarie I used to be a salty/cruncy person but as I age it's more about the sweets. On the fitbit and the steps/calorie thing. I have figured out (well that's what I tell myself) that it's the intensity of the steps that is the reason for the discrepancy. Oh just finished reading your post about the 12 calories. Houston, we have a problem. Love your little doggy.

@gemwolf110 How's it going with the food these days? Spring is here we are going to work towards a summer body.

I had a friend over for breakfast. We usually meet every other week at a restaurant somewhere. We decided maybe it would be safer not to be around as many people right now. I just got over that bad case of bronchitis and I definitely don't want to be a statistic. I was fine with the food until early evening. At some point I just said, I'm done fighting for the day. Tomorrow is another day. Bad thinking on my part. My "tomorrows" have turned into decades. So back at it tomorrow. I did track everything. That's a win for me.

Yellow Day- Went Over 285/164 Exercise- Did not exercise

    March goals-Drink 3 glasses of water a day :( Decluttering :(

@trooworld I'm getting around 150 grams a day so I don't think it's protein. Today I feel better, so maybe yesterday was a fluke? I hope it was!

@theslightedgeforever I'm sorry to hear about yesterday. Sometimes willpower just isn't enough. Good for you for tracking, that's a big win! As far as hunger, since I'm feeling better today I think it was just my body adjusting. I also did 2 hard hours of a workout, so a few additional calories were probably needed.

@TeresaW1020 The fats part is definitely overwhelming! I picked up some more full fat dressings last night which will hopefully help. And I'm so sorry about your friend's baby. I'm glad they got to spend a few days together before he passed over the rainbow bridge.

I didn't sleep very well last night so today will probably feel like a long one! My hunger levels are more under control though, which is good. I'm hopeful that I feel better by class time tonight so I can make it to both jiu jitsu classes. If not I might have to take time off to rest. This whole carb switching thing is a lot on my body! But I promised to do two weeks with my partner, so I'm powering through.

In more fun news, wedding planning is definitely coming together! There's still a lot to do, but it feels very manageable. My friend's Dad even agreed to do music and officiate! I feel so blessed to have so many generous, talented people in my family to make this day possible.

@trooworld I'm so glad you are on a roll right now. Especially for those of us who aren't. We need someone to have the oars in the water rowing.

@mswatston0777 I agree with you sometimes motivation is not enough. Action is the best cure. I'm glad your wedding planning is smooth. One less stressor in your life.

@cbabie Hooray for tracking and walking. Every little action counts.

Red Day- Went over 296/100 Exercise- did not exercise

March goals- Drink 3 glasses of water :( Decluttering :(

@theslightedgeforver, are you struggling this month? Do you need an intervention? I feel like I should give you some words of wisdom but that is your department. Sooooo what do you say to yourself to get these :( to turn back to o:) on March goals? <3

@cbabie, glad the headache went away and that you got 20 minutes on your treadmill! Take care of yourself. <3

@mswatson0777, how are you feeling today with the low carb? Have you had any weight loss? Yayyy for wedding planning! That is great that you have people in your life who can help make your day awesome. :)

@trooworld, yayyy for tracking!! I am doing my best to track it all too. Chic-Fil-A is the best!!! I am seriously addicted to their diet lemonade. :D

Good morning! I am about to head out for my weekly staff meeting. We are deep into our Easter plans which as you know is a very busy time for a church. The biggest hurdle this week is deciding on what the banner should be for out front. Too many cooks in the kitchen if you know what I mean! 😉 My weight is stalled but I know that it’s been because of my overeating my points. I have also started my new workout routine. Right now my upper body and lower half are killing me. Today is my off day and I need it. Have a good one everyone! :)

@TeresaW1020 I hope your Easter planning goes well! Sorry to hear you're in the stall, but you're probably right on the points. I had a heck of a time fitting my food into those. The low-carb is going okay. My body and brain still feel off so I don't think this is sustainable, but it's a nice jumpstart.

@theslightedgeforever Sorry you're struggling with your March goals. Do you do any flavorings in your water to make it more fun to drink?

@trooworld I hope your week is going well. How are your March goals going?

@cbabie Sorry to hear about the headache! I'm so glad it was temporary and that you're feeling better

So yesterday my chest started tightening up and I felt tingling in my fingers...so I left work midday and rushed to the Urgent Care. Fun fact, those are symptoms of a massive anxiety attack!

Apparently I'm not handling things as well as I thought I was. I went home and slept for 12 hours and now I'm back at work today. I cancelled all plans this weekend and next weekend. My body is clearly telling me I need to slow down and I need to listen to it!

@mswatson0777 I’m so sorry you got a panic attack. Have you had them before? I think you joined the post after I said, but I have complex PTSD, which includes an array of disorders. Anxiety is one of them. It can be really frightening and awful. What advice did Urgent Care give? Are you able to get some support extra support?

@TeresaW1020 good luck with your easter plans. Are you helping with the eggs again this year? I can’t believe it’s been a yr I’ve been on MFP with you all.

@theslightedgeforever maybe you should change your water goal? I just wonder bc sometimes I will readjust if I set a goal that’s too tough.

@cbabie- *high five* 20 mins on treadmill is great! Glad your head is better.

@trooworld glad things are going well.

    Hey gang,

I’m doing well calorie wise and exercise wise. It’s the strangest thing with the calories, I don’t know how I’ve been able to manage it. I think I’ve just stopped some of the extra indulgences- sneaking in chocolates and sweets and fast food etc. I still do, just less because I make sure I have space in my plan for it. So that is going well. I almost feel a little paranoid about eating, but it’s ok I’m still eating healthy foods.

Exercise is going well, work is going well. Everything is good.

Well I was planning my vacay to Iceland but now I’m pausing on booking it. I’m not worried about getting sick from the virus, but I just want to book things that are going to be cancelled if flights aren’t running etc.

Also I am DEVASTATED about the cancellation of sports. I don’t talk about it much here but I LOVE the Raptors. The Raptors NBA team is made up of a bunch of guys that weren’t drafted- which means the league all thought they were worthless- and they won a championship last year and were doing well this year- even though again the entire NBA thought they would be trash this year. These guys are scrappy underdog players that don’t care what anyone says and just. keep. winning. One of the players was homeless when he was younger. One escaped war in the Congo. They've also had chronic injuries all year and yet they were the no. 2 seed with a good chance to make the finals again because they just keep fighting no matter what anyone says. I LOVE these guys, they are such scrappy underdog players and were on track to be in finals at least again this yr. It breaks my heart.

And baseball is my first passion and it just kills me it’s postponed. I had bought opening day tix. Not sure what will happen now. It’s also a meaningful time for me to connect with my father and my uncle, by going to games, and I don’t have a lot of family so it means something to me.

My health journey has really been entwined with a growing love of certain sports and just learning about guys facing adversity of all different kinds and working so hard to overcome it, and it is work day in and day out and for some of them just not giving up, and then finally finding success. It moves me and inspires me so much, because then a lot of them also work for positive change in the world.

Anyway- all I can say is I want sports back now pleeeeaaaase, pleasssse! I just want everything back to normal.

I did a good workout today and that helped me. Squat- 70lbs. Personal best

@theslightedgeforever - Thank you for these tips, I have to get better of watching what I eat when I have to guess at the calories. I also need to watch my portion size, it takes so much disciple to change a habit. Gradually I've made improvements, but there is still more I need to do.

@mswatson0777 - My DH has gotten better about leaving out some of the things he uses so I can scan them into the app, and he lets me know. It wouldn't be too bad if I stick to the right portion size. That's my new goal.

@TeresaW1020- Keeping busy could help, or it can make sticking to goals more difficult. Sometimes I get too busy to snack, and sometimes I treat myself for my hard work, and overdue it.

@Cbabie - Keep it up, the treadmill is great exercise. Even when we're busy it helps me to track my food.

@mswatson0777 - I know what you mean by hunger levels, mine have been particularly strong this week, it feels like I'm constantly fighting the urge to put something in my mouth. I hope this passes soon. I think I'm just looking for comfort food, but I know it won't stop at a single meal. I'm trying hard to let it pass. It's great you're focusing on exercise instead. Having a class you signed up for ahead of time helps, also having a workout partner that keeps you on track is great.

My kids universities all shut down this week because of the virus, so they're coming home, and they have to complete their classes online. I was not expecting this, we now have a really full house. It went from just me and my husband, and occasionally one or two kids stopping in, to five adult people in the house. I'm glad to see everyone, but this is a lot of togetherness. They packed up their stuff in a hurry, so it's even more disorganized and my basement has been overtaken with a giant mess of bags and a lose jumble of junk. Looking at all that clutter is very stressful.

I kept to my walks all week. I'm back to tracking all my meals, which has helped.

@trooworld I totally understand the panic about COVID-19. I'm less concerned about the virus itself and more panicked about everything shutting down because of it. I did have my partner grab some dried beans/lentils/etc over lunch the other day for emergency back up food just in case. And thank you for your kind words about my panic attack. I'm amazed at how many people have experienced them and I love that we are all able to be more open about mental health because it makes me feel less alone.

@nighthazel01 Sounds like you've got a full house! I hope the transition isn't too stressful on you and that you're still able to focus on self-care

@its_cleo Urgent care wasn't very helpful (I think they're more worried about the upcoming pandemic so they wanted to get me out of there quick). I did meet with my psychologist so we worked on relaxation techniques and I'm meeting with my primary care doctor to see about an as needed anxiety med. Sorry to hear you're missing out on the basketball season! This is truly a historical event that hasn't occurred in most of our lifetimes!

My work has been entirely centered on COVID-19 lately since we're moving all classes and advising appointments online. I think we're taking the safest course of action and I'm glad we're working to protect our university community, but it is definitely a lot of work!

The pressure in my chest is lessening from the anxiety attack, but it is still definitely there. Work, grad school, pandemic, social life, wedding planning, etc. all just got to be too much and I physically broke.

In better news, I stepped on the scale today and I lost 4 pounds in less than a week!!!! I know it's mostly water weight with the low carb thing, but holy buckets that's a lot! I'm almost to a healthy BMI now!

Hi all...back from OK. Dd's surgery went well & Dr said what he did should help the situation & the pain. Hope so. Now she has to wear a splint for 6 weeks, then physical therapy.

I would like to comment on all of your postings, but way too many. Just know I am thinking of all of you & hope we can all push forward with our goals.

I have been following the Covid-19 thing on here. Maybe I shouldn't..I can be quite a worrier, but there is someone from Italy posting almost daily. My dh thinks they should quit talking so much about it on the news, but to read her posts, it does sound scary especially for someone my age. We are going to a friend's house tonight (only 6 of us but it still makes me uneasy). There are about 18 cases in our state. 17 from an Egytptian cruise & they are all in the eastern part of state & the other one in western part, had traveled to California. With everything cancelling, really makes you wonder how much you need to stay at home. Not sure if we will be going back to OK for gd's birthday the end of the month, depends how things are going by then. & I got called for jury duty for April! Never had it, don't want it...I think I have been stress eating.

    Anyway, hope everyone stays safe.

    Afternoon everyone.

Wow I wasn't gone that long..Lots of post!! I started to walk this morning, but my DGGD got up as I was putting on my shoes. So another one bites the dust. It has been crazy rain and hail here this past week, streets are flooded, then you add the Grocery store panic. I went afterwork today and it was crazy. I actually had to wait for someone to unload their cart to have a cart.. Oh well all done and put away.

I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend

@mswatson0777 My daughters have had anxiety attacks, I am so sorry you had to go through that. I am sorry too that the hospital seemed more worried about the virus.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I am really trying to not think about the virus night and day. I have to think about things I can control and thats all I can do. (doesn't mean that once in a while I get that what if)

    @trooworld I love your march goals..doable

@nighthazel01 Sounds like you will be taking lots of walks..LOL

@its_cleo LOL I too want things to go back to normal, but Sports is not my thing. I am really impressed with the "guys" on the team. Sounds like a great bunch of guys. Hopefully things will be normal soon.
