Hi all..still here in chilly Iowa. Had a few snow flurries yesterday, not ready for that!

@TeresaW1020 Your Christmas decorations are beautiful! & the presents! I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping yet, lol. I am debating on when I will put mine up. We did put the outside lights up last week when it was nice, but are not turning them on for awhile yet. Unless they blew away...yesterday was terribly windy!! Happy late anniversary!! Sounded like a fun trip.

@cbabie I feel so bad for you and your back. I know how much they can hurt! I hope something starts helping you. I'm jealous of your bike riding, lol.

@trooworld Hope you can figure out something to help your migraines. I used to get them monthly, so maybe just wait for menopause, lol. JK, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Your turkey is cute. Good luck with the new WW program.

@theslightedgeforever Wow, you really do go on vacation, don't you. Not sure my dd's could stand me that long, lol. We have been to OK a few times lately, dog sitting (only part of the time..visiting my brother & sil most of it), and then went with dd & fam to a dinosaur park in Kansas for gson's birthday. Followed them home, so dh could check her roof again. (it had started leaking when we were there dog sitting) Dh told her she better be saving her money, might be needing a new roof soon. Yikes. We got a new one this summer, but had enough hail damage that insurance covered it. Thank goodness!!

@gemwolf110 Your tree is gorgeous!! I want to see it too, when decorated. I wish we could have a live one. We did for a few years when dd's were still at home, but the last one dh got such a bad reaction to (poison ivy?) that he ended up in ER for shots. That was the end for us, back to artificial.

Every time we go to OK, I put on a few pounds & then have to work to get them back off. Up & down, up & down. We aren't planning to go there for awhile, so hopefully I can start moving down again. I always log as accurately as possible, but definitely don't always stay in my calories. Need to stop that. Right now, free food with my veteran dh on Thursday didn't help, lol.

Everyone was talking about the pretty fall leaves, & I was going to post a few pictures, but I keep seeing that Android phones aren't working too well with Community right now. The maples have been gorgeous, but are now losing their leaves with the wind & the burning bushes have been the brightest red that I have ever seen. We did our annual "leaf watching" trip with friends, but were too early. Oh well, it was still a good goof off day. & our pumpkin patch was a total bust this year...we didn't get any!! Dh keeps saying this was our last year for them.

Hope everyone has a good week!!

@TeresaW1020 So shoot for the next meal being OP. I'm back to adding in my red days. So lesson learned for me, don't remove ALL the red days while on vacation. Shoot for at least one per week.

@retiredandlovingit So now you know your goal when you go to OK is get closer to your boundaries. That's my goal for when I go see my kids again. August was a bad month for me and I went back to look when I gained weight and it was the Iowa State Fair. Then it was just a lb here and there. I pretty well maintained September Then October was another lb Hubby and I were talking about the snow in Iowa yesterday. Hubby retired so we didn't have to get back early. Plus he missed the kids since we didn't take a vacation in 2020. Usually I just go a month and spend 2 weeks with each of them. The trees were pretty in MN. Between that and sunrises, I don't have space left on my phone. We were a bit early in Vermont and NH to see the pretty leaves. They had just started to change.

@trooworld So what will you do to make this one successful? Remember all plans work if you work the plan. It's always us and not the plan. Now you were being successful on the former WW plan, I remember. Until one day you weren't? Which month was that? What were you doing? What changed? Sounds like you had a good food day and got in some movement. That's are goal every day.

I lost 1.2 lbs this week

@RetiredAndLovingIt I love this time of year too and all the beautiful Maples and other foliage. The Ginkgo trees are super bright yellow with their fan-shaped leaves. So pretty! The good thing about getting my Christmas decorations up and most of my shopping done, I don’t have any stress in that one area of my life. You will get that gain off and how nice that you got to spend time with your family! :)

@trooworld I’m glad that you had so much support from your bosses and friend for the art show. And yes, you are in the honeymoon phase of WW and that is awesome and should be totally enjoyed for as long as possible. You know it will end and then you will have to keep fighting for what you want. I love how the new WW is helping you focus more on nutrition and water. Staying on track and excited about this new plan is really going to help you going into the holidays. ;)

@theslightedgeforever Yayy on your 1.2 lb. loss! Are your red days the low carb days? I’m working on staying on track this week. Keeping my mind on the scale going down and knowing that the church potluck is on Sunday. :)

Good morning! Today is going to be a busy day. This morning I will do a workout, go to Aldi, Walmart and get my flu shot. This afternoon I’m meeting my friend at Hobby Lobby so we can get some things to add to the church decorations. We were looking back at some pictures of the stage from the vantage point of how people see it online and it’s needing more Christmas! Then this evening I’m taking my friend and her family to dinner because they just had a new baby. I have my food planned for the week and I’m determined to get the scale down this week. I’m up almost 5 lbs. since before I left for vacation. This Saturday I’m starting a new Data Driven Fasting challenge and I’m going into it like a newbie. Like Trooworld, I need to get excited about losing weight again. :)

@trooworld I really like that idea of earning points for veggies. I need to think how I could incorporate those two things into my carb cycling plan? Anything to get me to eat more veggies. May your honeymoon last forever.

@teresaw1020 My red days are 100 carbs. So basically they are my low carb days compared to the others. Fresh starts always motivate us.

Got in a good workout this a.m. My son has a dj thing on Twitch and so I danced for 30 min listening/watching. Made a really good dish- Chicken, white beans, and red peppers over corn bread.

Morning all. Quick check in. Weight is up a bit from the few days in the city. Back on track today. Have a storm system coming in today and tomorrow. Will see what it brings.

@trooworld glad you like the new program. I dropped down to 25 points but have chicken and eggs as zero points. And yes earning the extras are great. I now get my water in to get that extra points and my lunch salad earns me 4. 2 cups of lettuce. 1 cup of carrot and 1 cup of cucumber.

Morning all, sorry I have been MIA, dealing with some things here at home. The good news is that I have a very clean house, and laundry all done...AND I lost 2 lbs this week. I still have some back issues, but now know how to take a pill when I need it. LOL. Most the time I am okay. We put in sod this weekend and that just about killed my back. We had one of the dogs fall in the pool, but she seems to be okay..she is old and I think she is starting not to see so well. LOL. It's just been one of those weekends.

@trooworld I love that you are excited about WW again. It always help to be excited about our health. Congrats on getting rid of the chocolate...I love the freezer. :). Thanks for missing me

@TeresaW1020 Yes I eat PB and Ice cream together...It almost taste like PB fudge...Sorry you are so sore but at least it's from working your body and not from anything else. LOL. I hope you got everything done on your list...I love to do list. ( but only when I get them all checked) LOL

@renaegry Hope the storm is a calm storm. :). you will get your routine back...I like that you know that the city or the camping or whatever is out of your norm...brings you fun and a little gain, but you know your everyday like you always get back on the train.

@theslightedgeforever what was the recipe for your chicken dinner, it sounds yummy. Congrats on the loss.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I think you and I are alike with the weight up and down. I have lost and gained the same 2 lbs over the last few months. But I am now determined to get rid of these ugly lbs. You can join me on the bike ride. :)

@trooworld That's good that you are doing so well on your plan. I think I could eat a whole pan of gnocchi and still not feel full. I have a polish friend that makes it. It's like eating air to me. So light.

@renaegry Sounds like you are enjoying the new program too. I was listening to a podcast yesterday about obesity and it was saying that no one overeats healthy food. It's all the other junk that we can't seem to stop as we indulge.

@cbabie Glad your back is better and woohoo on the 2 lb loss. Which dog was it? >:) PB fudge. Blech. I was glad we also had choc fudge at Christmas. The chicken recipe was really easy.
    • Saute diced onions and red peppers.
    • Cut up boneless chicken strips and add to pan
    • Add onion and garlic powder, pepper and 1/2 t salt
    • Cook until almost done on med high heat
    • add one drained can of white beans
    • cover and simmer for a bit while it gets juicy
    • serve over cornbread

exercise was 45 min of youtube cardio, weights, and stretching. Food was good. 161/164 Yellow
I went to the dr this morning. Got my lovely pap smear and had her check my foot. She thinks plantar fasciitis but we took an xray anyway. The top of my foot hurts really bad too. Burning, stabbing pain. The tech kept saying can you rotate your foot. I am..... Then he would say can you flex? I am......That's as good as it's going to get.

@cbabie I’m glad that your back is doing so much better and yayy for that 2 lb. loss! Glad your dog didn’t get hurt falling in the pool. One of these days, I am going to have to try that PB and ice cream. ;)

@theslightedgeforever I sure hope the doctor can help fix your foot pain. The cardio doesn’t aggravate it? You are totally right that we don’t overeat healthy foods. One of the reasons why I quit counting calories again is because when I’m eating the healthy foods that work for me, I don’t over it and I lose weight. It’s when I go off plan and eat the junk that I gain and no amount of counting helps me when that is happening. :/

@trooworld That is awesome that you are down 4.2 lbs!! I want some of those cookies that don’t make you gain weight! :D

Good morning! I woke up at 5:30 and lay there until 6:00 and finally got up. I needed to read my Bible study for tonight, so I knocked that out and now I’m about to go get ready for staff meeting and to clean both buildings. I’m still trying to get my head back in the weight loss game. I think the biggest struggle is that I am so often out of my normal routine with all that is going on. I’ll get it together! :)

@teresaw1020 I can be asleep for 7 hours and wake up and have worse foot pain than when I'm just moving around. Or just be sitting in a chair and have shooting pains in my feet. It's not really an injury but more a condition, I think. We'll see more when the xray comes back. She thinks it plantar fasciitis though. So I'm doing the stretching, icing, etc.

@trooworld I had read the WW blog to see the new program details and they had shown the green blue purple but I guess that was showing the kinds of food someone prefers when they do the assessment. https://weightwatchers.com/us/blog/weight-loss/myww

@trooworld Wow that is a lot of zero-point foods that you get to have! How do you manage not to overeat the zero-point foods? So much of your foods are so nutritious and that is awesome, but I could eat my weight in pasta so I don’t know how that would work for me. I have a Terva tumbler and love it. You deserve a great tumbler to drink your water out of. :)

@theslightedgeforever Well, I sure hope that you can find some relief for your foot. Do you need special shoes? :/

@cbabie Ohhh no, I pray that you will feel better soon. <3

@gemwolf110 HaHa you are hilarious!! I saw that graphic and my brain was like, WHAT!!! And then I really looked at the picture. :D:D

Hi everyone. Well, DH and I had some bad news yesterday. He went to a lung doctor yesterday because they had seen a spot on his lung when he was in the hospital for the low sodium. The doctor is scheduling him for a PET scan next week and a biopsy after that. I am refusing to worry at this moment. My mom had the same thing four years ago and had to have surgery and she is just fine. My Joe will be just fine too! But I am praying extra hard. :/ Tomorrow we have to go up to the church to set up for the Thanksgiving potluck and then I will come home and cook a huge turkey. I will just heat it up on Sunday. I’m looking forward to our church family being all back together again doing normal stuff, like eating!

@cbabie I'm worried about you. Take care of yourself.

@trooworld That's great that you are getting in lots of veggies. I'm better but not where I want to be. I still haven't found a good water bottle to make me drink more water. LOL Bookclub was in person. First time I've seen them since Jan or Feb 2020. Other than zoom. 6 of us. It was nice. We're all vaccinated. I wouldn't sit with them if they weren't. I'm still not taking chances.

@gemwolf110 Love the pic. I had to keep looking at it. First I thought it was you to be congratulated, then I thought oh maybe this is a doggy ultrasound. lol I kept thinking why does the doggy have his legs wide open like that?

@teresaw1020 Are you back on your eating plan? Special shoes. Then they wouldn't be pretty. lol I don't know. It comes and goes. I'm still trying to do my stretching and PT exercises. It's hard first thing in the morning when I get out of bed. I'm still able to exercise though. Plain walking is bad so I'm doing aerobics which doesn't seem to bother it. Well, prayers for your hubby. My friend has had a spot for years that they just keep watching and it just sits there. So hopefully this will turn out to be nothing.

Hi. I signed up for Weight Watchers 2 or 3 weeks ago. I tracked everyday and found it really discouraging. I was over 200 points some weeks. I have been making myself walk 4500 steps per day, which isn't many for me, but it felt sustainable. It's barely made any dent in the points I recieve. It's hard because theres food like my cappuccinos which would be like 200 calories on myfitnesspal but on weight watchers its 8 points. Whole fat milk is 8 points for a cup, which is crazy, because it's not that high in calories and it's supposed to be good for you. I find the food on WW quite extravegant, I'm poor and can't really afford it. I'm really unsure of what I can actually eat. It's so frustrating. I better get used to it because I've signed up for six months. Why was myfitnesspal so much easier to work with? I signed up for Weight Watchers because I basically have diabetes, and needed something that was focused on health and wellness. I like the program overall, I'm just finding it hard with the way I currently eat. My sister was a leader about 15 years ago and has basically told me to eat as many stirfrys as I can (which is difficult because I hate them!).

What kinds of foods do you usually eat? Maybe we can give you some suggestions.

I usually eat rolled oats with protein powder and tinned fruit, grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato and onion relish, pasta with tinned tomatoes and cheese, pizza, fish and chips, turkish salads with mixed meat and chips, kfc, mcdonalds, hawaiian burgers and whopper burgers from burger king, frozen cokes, coke no sugar, nandos chicken, sushi, avocadoes, banana smoothies, salads, toast with marmite or peanut butter, rice cakes with tuna, salt and vinegar anything, pickles, cucumber & carrot sticks with salsa, guacomole, starbucks caramel frappaccinos or chocolate chip drinks, cheese on toast, stuffed potatoes with cheese bacon and peas, enchiladas, wraps... and other things. I think I need to eat low carb, I eat way too much bread, potatoes and cheese.

@theslightedgeforever I’m back on my eating plan somedays and other days not at all. Church potluck for instance was a zero eating on plan and today will be 100% on plan. Trying to do the balance thing as much as possible. 😉 Yeah, when I was having so much foot pain a few years ago and working at the furniture store, I had a terrible time finding cute shoes that wouldn’t make me cry in pain by the end of the day.

@trooworld That cheese bread looks amazing!! I wouldn’t even attempt to make my own dinner rolls so good for you for not giving up! B)

    @cabie <3

    @neffyworld Welcome! :)

Good morning! Well, the potluck last night was a huge hit. We had close to 100 people, and everyone ate too much and had a great time. I printed out these fun coloring/activity placemats and had crayons on the tables. Young and old had fun with those. I was exhausted by the time I came home and I’m still tired out this morning and of course, the scale is up many pounds! It will come down hopefully by Thursday, so I can do it all over again. Today, I’m going to Walmart, and then later DH and I are going to buy our new mattress. I’m excited about that!!

@neffyworld Welcome to the group! Change is hard for me. I am a baby-step person. There was a movie with Bill Murray in it called What about Bob? It was funny and there was a thing in there about babysteps. He babystepped his way to success. Any kind of progress is progress. So if you had 200 points over and today you had 190, that's progress. I think the thing that kills us is all or nothing thinking. If I can't do it right, I'm not going to do it at all. Thus the yo-yo dieting. I've been doing that all my life and now I'm just starting to figure some things out about me. I have to eat food I like just less of it. So what kinds of food do you like? I'm pre-diabetic. I'm doing a carb cycling program. I noticed you have started making some good habits. You tracked your food and you began walking. That's great.

@trooworld Are you related to neffy? :D:D The cheese boat looks so good. Now I want to make them again. Maybe on the weekend. If I do, I'll send you a pic. Your food list made me hungry. lol How are your migraines? Are you using your Tonal?

@teresaw1020 Balance is good as long as the overall trend is down. I'm still trying to get back in my routine. I've done pretty well with exercise. Food has been 80/20. Too many invitations from friends that I haven't seen in a while. Bookclub. So I'm working on my own balance. My foot was really getting better and then it started hurting all over again. I think I figured it out. Walking inflames it. I guess extended walking. I was at the clinic this morning doing blood tests and I had to walk over to the Dermatology area to try and make an appt and then back to where my car was parked. Lots of walking. Then it started hurting again. Aerobics, dancing, doesn't seem to bother it. So I will keep doing my stretches and all. I'm still waiting on my x-ray results. I didn't think it would take this long. I keep checking MyChart. Hopefully my glucose will be okay and my A1c with today's bloodwork. The iced tea at my daughters house might have put me over the edge. LOL I'm glad your potluck was a success.

@gemwolf110 It's important we like our plan. Helps us to continue. I'm learning to change my habits. Some are so deeply ingrained it's taking longer. But I will conquer them if I just keep trying.

@neffyworld I was making a joke because you and troo both have world at the end of your username. I guess not a very good joke. :D By the way, my sister is in this group. @cbabie This can be a good place to vent so it's sometimes nice when you don't have any real life friends here in the group. But the good thing is that I have made virtual friends here.

As you can tell, yesterday wasn't so good. Some of those ingrained habits. McDonalds. My goal is to change the habit to a double quarter lber cheese with no bun and then cut that up and put that in one of their salads. I saw that trick on a keto forum. Yesterday I had been fasting since I had a clinic appt for bloodwork and couldn't eat until almost lunchtime. Dh said bring home food and that was the closest. I didn't even think about the trick just ordered what I usually do. Next time as they say.

@theslightedgeforever It’s good that you figured out that it’s the extended walking that is hurting your foot. The good news is that you can keep up with your workouts. The bad news is that you are going to have to moderate how much walking you do at one time. I suppose Christmas shopping should be online for you this year. 😉 Changing our habits when we eat out is one of the harder things to do, I think. But there will always be a next time!

@trooworld I hope you are feeling better and that you don’t have the dreaded Covid! Yeah, with only 18 points for the day, I can see how you have to be careful and focus on those zero point foods. :)

Good morning! I woke up at 5 am thinking and praying. Today, DH goes to get that PET scan to find out what is going on inside his body. I’m not sure when we will find out the results. Hopefully soon! I was supposed to get my hair done yesterday, but my stylist had to cancel. So, I went to work and did the cleaning for the week. I’m not going into the office today because our bookkeeper wants to leave early. Works for me! I will clean house and I need to concentrate on the ladies' Bible study Christmas luncheon that we are having here on Dec. 4th. My mom is so excited! She is putting together gift bags for each lady and having so much fun with them. I’m happy that I can do this for her. :)

@teresaw1020 Waiting on results is the hardest thing. Hopefully they will come quickly and will be clear. Prayers sent. I'm glad I can continue with my exercise. I'm just being real careful now on walking round the house. How is your balanced eating going?

@trooworld I guess I should not have abbreviated. Quarter pounder with cheese no bun. oh we must have both been posting at same time the other day. I was thinking I don't remember troo being sick. So I went back and looked. You did a great job of saying no to dh and making sure the food fit in your plan.
I hope it's not covid and just a changing of the weather type illness. Get well soon. Yaaay on your weight loss.

    @gemwolf110 Really nice post.

    Hi everyone

This is Neffyworld. I deleted that account because I was unable to delete all my previous food entries. I have decided to start logging my food on mfp instead, because the points weren't making sense to me. My sister made a curry for lunch today and it was something like 20-50ww points. I'm sick of going so over points every fricken day. I will keep going to meetings and using their recipes though. I have paid for six months, so its a bit of an commitment.
