@mswatson0777 I do podcasts. I also do audiobooks. I just need the motivation to exercise. :( I wish your hubby a speedy recovery! Working on your dissertation is a great way to keep occupied and your mind off things. Good idea to aim for maintenance.

    @theslightedgeforever Yay!!! Well done. I got 25%.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Your advent calendar is adorable! It does look like a lot of work. Merry Christmas!

@TeresaW1020 Yeah sometimes there is no choice, I agree. Awww, look at the princess! She is adorable, Teresa! I love her "Woof" pillow, too. I did? Woo hoo! That's cool that you are going to be on a podcast. Please let us know when your podcast is posted so we can listen!!! I think I might look back on the posts, that sounds fun.

Hi all. Well, I made it to Christmas Eve, I am off until Monday! I'm looking forward to the break. In case you don't get on here tomorrow, I wish you a Merry Christmas! I'll pop on here tomorrow. Here's a picture of my latest crafting adventure: a shadow box of a pug in the woods. I made it with my Cricut. I'm not completely happy with it so I think I will make it over today.

    COMMITTED.
    Goals for December:
    - track 90% of food intake
    - drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day

Whoohoo to days off. I’m finally off for 2 days, work 2 off for 5 then back to 7 days a week of work.
Merry Christmas to you! And I love the shadow box! Very creative and pretty!

@trooworld Yes, I agree that owning a dog is a big responsibility and unless you truly have no choice you own that dog for life, or you find it a good home. I had to do that when I got divorced with our dog Buddy, because my ex worked very long hours and the dog would have been locked in an apartment all day and he had never been on his own. We found a wonderful family with lots of land and kids. But it was still such a hard day when we had to give him away. I will post a pic below of Maggie Mae. :) I can’t wait to hear what your word is for 2021! You are the one that got me going on having a word, you know? ;)

@mswatson0777, Yikes, I hope your husband will be OK and that the surgery will be as expected. I would be holding up in the lobby too if it was my hubby. :/ I can’t do cardio flow. She does moves that I don’t trust with my back or simply can’t make my body do. On cardio days, I’ve been doing Barre Blend cardio. My cordless jump rope arrived, and I start #MBF on January 4th. I’m excited to see how it goes! :)

@RetiredAndLovingIt Brrr that is cold! Your advent calendar is so cute! I just love it! <3

Hi everyone! So, I don’t think I’ve mentioned that I’m going to be on a podcast next month. It’s a guy name Graeme Currie and he has lost over 130 lbs and wrote a book called The Fasting Highway and has a podcast by the same name. I’m in his FB group and we are both big followers of Gin Stephens. He is also a recovering sugar addict and his story so resonated with me that I reached out and said I would love to be on his podcast. I’ve been trying to put together notes and I was struggling with some dates and details. Then I thought about this group and that I’ve been on here for a while and that may be what I needed could be found in my posts. Ya’ll I spent two hours this morning reading back over my posts and most of yours! I joined this group on July 21, 2018. It was very interesting to read back through my posts and see my weight loss journey. I actually learned quite a bit about myself that I’m still mauling over. There are lessons to be found for sure and I encourage you all to go back and have a read at your posts. Plus, it was fun to see some old faces from people I now miss. :)

Maggie Mae on her favorite chair <3

That’s really cool that your going to be on a podcast! It’s a great feature to go back and see all the posts. Cute picture of Maggie Mae!

@trooworld Do you do podcasts at all? Leslie's videos are okay, but I'd much rather walk outside with a good podcast!

@TeresaW1020 I love the word transformation and the quote you shared from Chasing Cupcakes, I'm going to see if I can rent that one from my library and check it out! And 80 Day Obsession Phase 2 is no joke! Her Cardio Flow kills me every time since it has zero breaks! I ended up doing her leg workout yesterday too and still feel wobbly!

@cbabie You are such a wonderful parent to Baby Girl, she is so lucky to have you! I love the 12 Days of Christmas idea. I saved up all my credit card rewards this year so I was thinking of buying myself a little something for every day I stick to my goals (2 pages of my dissertation, no bingeing, workout, movement).

@theslightedgeforever Great quote! You're absolutely right that self doubt stands in our way and causes us to self sabotage. "I'm never going to get to goal anyways so why not x,y,z". I hope you hit your December weight goal, that is awesome! My plan for the next 12 days is to treat it like a writing retreat so every day I have to get at least 2 pages of work in before I can play. That way at the end I'll have 24 pages to show for my time instead of wasting it away.

Happy Wednesday All! Today marks my first day of break, but it's also the day my husband is in surgery all day so it's not exactly an exciting day. We had to wake up at 5:30am to get him to the hospital in time so I'm definitely dragging this morning.

Since the surgery is all day I popped back home to get a workout in and eat lunch, but I'm going to spend the afternoon in the lobby since I like being close. I know he's healthy and everything is going fine, but I can't help but worry. I already got an hour of dissertation work in so I'm feeling fairly accomplished. I figure the waiting room is as good a spot as any to knock out a few more hours. Eating has been going fairly well this week. I'm mostly planning to eat at maintenance through the New Year and then get back on track then. I'd rather do maintenance over the next few weeks than try to lose and end up bingeing.

Hope he feels better soon and heals quickly! Best of luck with your dissertation work.

@retiredandlovingit That's great that you are walking. 40-50 degree weather is springtime for you all. lol I love the calendar. You worked hard on that. How is the food right now?

@teresaw1020 I read Chasing Cupcakes for one of my 100 day books. I liked it. She had so many questions to answer though. lol Lots of looking within. I'll have to find that podcast. Cute doggy and tree.

@trooworld Sorry to say I think motivation comes after action. You don't have to do 30-60 minutes right now. Just do something. Put on a song and dance. Go to Youtube and pick a 5 min video of some kind. Habit stack it with something else. The trick is finding the right time to do it. I got 50%. I love that shadow box. You did a good job.

@mswatson0777 I love podcasts. I listen to #focusonthis and #weightlossmadereal and #yourhealthfirst Great plan with the writing retreat idea. I hope everything went well with dh surgery.

@cbabie Good that you got a walk in. You can do this. It just takes a little focus on one or two things and not trying to be perfect everyday. You'll always fail that way. Each day you can progress a little bit. I'm glad I'm the baby and not the older sister. Although I would have switched personalities back then but got mine back when I hit the teen years. :D

@gemwolf110 I hope you enjoy your days off and get some good rest in. What good things will you do for your physical and mental health during this time?

    December weekly goals:

    # glasses of water 3/42
    Week 3 # glasses of water 34.5/42
    Week 2 # glasses of water 24/42,
    Week 1 # glasses of water 25/42,

    #OP days 1/7
    Week 3 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 2 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 1 # OP days 3/7

    # preplanned days 1/7
    Week 3 # preplanned days 6/7
    Week 2 # preplanned days 4/7,
    Week 1 # preplanned days 5/7

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. Try not to eat yourself into oblivion cause then you have to work harder next week. No saying, I'll just wait until the first of the year. Make everyday count.

@trooworld I will let you know when the podcast comes out. It will probably be in March. They usually tape them a couple of months in advance. Yeah, that chair is actually referred to as Maggie’s napkin. She jumps on it after dinner to wipe her face on. I’m NOT going to be good with her doing that when we get the new chair. :D That shadow box is so cute! You need an Etsy store. B) I’ll pop in tomorrow too since I’m not leaving my house.

@gemwolf110 Thanks, I’m excited and at the same time wondering what the heck I am doing a podcast for! :D I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!! <3

@theslightedgeforever I think looking within is a good idea but it can be painful. I felt that way at times reading back over my post on here, but knowledge is power. Or so they say, right? ;)

Hey everyone! So, a lady that I had bought some puzzles from contacted me to see if I wanted to buy more. Heck yeah, I did!! So, DH and I just got back from getting five 1000-piece puzzles. At least I won’t be getting bored in 2021. Today, is gloomy, cold, and rainy. I sure wish it would snow! There is a slight chance we might see some this evening. DH, mom, and I are going to church for our candlelight service at 5 pm and afterward, we are going to Chic-Fil-A for milkshakes to bring home and have with fruitcake. <3 Our Chic-Fil-A started doing lights 5 years ago and they just keep adding more every year. It’s super fun to be inside but it’s shut down now, so the drive-thru will have to do. Mom hasn’t seen it yet, so it will be a treat for her. :)

Afternoon on Christmas Eve, I had a not so good day family wise yesterday, but it has also encouraged me to look within. Baby girl woke up to presents under the tree and wanted to touch all of them. NOT...it was so cute. This is the first year where she is like a child and not. baby. I did not meet my goal to lose weight, but I am not gaining. I walked yesterday and realized I need to have a goal for exercise like I did 20 years ago. Just because I am in my 60's doesn't mean I am old and have to act like it. Tomorrow I will have another birthday and have been looking back at my life in the last few years. I don't want to have another 10, like the last 10. Hence my word for the year 2021. I have always done a word, thanks to my mom. Last year I had 2 and this year I have 2. My 2020 words were Jubilee and Freedom. I think I have had both this year, but could be more free. 2021 words are Change and Believe.

@trooworld Your Shadow Box is beautiful. You did a great job. I am so proud of the things you accomplish and set your mind to. I hope you have a great Christmas and enjoy your time from work. LOL

@theslightedgeforever Yea on the water, I know you can reach your goals. I think you give each one of us something to work towards. I would like to know if you have a word for 2021. It's been a tough year for many reasons...but we survived and our families did too.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I hope you have a Merry Christmas too. So glad you popped in to say hi.

@TeresaW1020 Your dog made me smile...reminded me of my Dad and Mom's dog and how they treated her..(don't get my sister going) LOL I think it's great you read through, it's kind of like our journal. LOL. Yea on being on the podcast.. can you send me the link for the podcast you listen to? I am trying to make that one of my goals for health. More reading and listening this year. LOL. I like your word and the description you gave. How awesome. You got this!!

@mswatson0777 So glad you are getting your dissertation worked on..sorry to hear hubby is having surgery. Yes you have the right attitude. It's all different with hospitals since covid. When I would have to sit all day in the waiting room with my dad in surgery, I think I didn't know that would. become a privilege in later years. He had so many and mom couldn't go because of her cancer. They really spent a lot of time in hospitals between the 2 of them. Praying for you both. Enjoy your days off and use this time to refresh!!!! you are so worth it.

@gemwolf110 I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off!!

@gemwolf110 Thank you, Merry Christmas to you as well and enjoy those days off!

@theslightedgeforever I got 25% yesterday. I can't promise anything re: exercise. I really don't like to do it and I know it's not necessary for weight loss, so I'm that less motivated to do it. I know it's necessary to keep limber and mobile, but right now, I'm mobile enough and that seems to be an inhibiting factor as well.

@TeresaW1020 Cool. I can't wait to hear you on a podcast! When are you getting the new chair? I know you ordered it already. I might open an Etsy store once I get better at stuff and decide what I want to sell. Wow, you scored on those puzzles, 5 of them! I always enjoyed going to candlelight services, they were so magical. That's really cool that your Chic-Fil-A does lights, it's really pretty. I've not eaten at our Chic-Fil-A, as it is always super busy. I'm not going to wait in a long line to eat there.

@cbabie LOL poor baby girl just wanted to open them all, huh? 60 is not old, I hate to tell you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Do you like having your birthday on Christmas? I love your words for 2021. Thanks for your support. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy birthday! <3

Hi all. Boy, you guys beat me to being here today! I redid the shadow box and added a blue background and some brown trees, it looks even better. Merry Christmas to all. I want to thank you all for the support you've given me. <3<3<3

Hi all. We had a wonderful Christmas yesterday. Lots of gifts enjoyed by all, laughter and good food. I'm glad the holiday is over though, now to get through New Year's. My weight is up by 2.8 lbs from last week, which I'm not surprised but not happy about either.

Afternoon all, Sorry been crazy the last couple of days. I won't even try to tell you I stayed on point yesterday with food. LOL. One of my daughter got me a cake that has frozen marshmallow frosting...OH MY... However, I have to say, in spite of or because of COVID and lots of prayers, this Christmas was awesome. No family drama, no hurt feelings, all had fun. Even got to talk to grandson and his wife in Alaska.. Baby girl got way too many presents, but we will just put them away and slowing bring them out. LOL. So planning this next week on my goals and budget, etc for 2021. I have a dear friend in ICU ( we went to HS together) who got Covid and pneumonia..so it makes you for sure look at what you have and if today was it...would your legacy be what you thought or wanted it to be and if not, can you change the direction you are going.

@trooworld I bet that shadow box is beautiful. (Blue is my favorite color ) LOL. Yes you could probably do well on Esty and have fun too! I am glad you had a good Christmas and Yes my weight is probably up, but I am not chekcing. LOL. Thank you for the birthday wish. My mom made it special, so I have never minded being born on Christmas. I always looked at it as a blessing.

@TeresaW1020 So glad you got those puzzles..we got Baby girl some, might as well start them early, learning how to do puzzles..it will help in all areas of life. LOL Thanks I don't feel old, so I won't look at the number..LOL I just remember when my grandma was in her 60's and I thought she was OLD. :)

@gemwolf110 I hope your Christmas was good and you had some good play time with the pups.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks for the birthday wish.. for a bit...theres another year between our ages, but you will catch up soon. LOL

@cbabie I'm so very sorry for your loss. That is a terrible way to go and I can't imagine the pain her family is going through. I am lucky that I don't know anyone personally that has died from COVID. I have had a few people come down with COVID but thankfully, they survived it.

@cbabie That's wonderful you had a great Christmas. And yay for no family drama! I'll post a pic of the new shadow box, I think it turned out better. My weight has been up all week and is starting to come down. That's good you didn't mind having a Christmas birthday. I have a cousin that shares your birthday and she always hated having that day as her birthday.

Hi all. We got takeout from a healthy-ish restaurant last night, it was really good. My weight is starting to come back down, which I'm glad about. Not much happening here, we ordered a bookcase from IKEA, which we desperately needed. My work-at-home setup is about to get a boost: we bought a second monitor so we can have dual monitors and that will help tremendously. I had to order an adapter though because one of my ports for the monitor is bad and we have to go a different route. Below is a pic of the redo of the shadow box. I didn't notice until after I was done that I put the top layer in upside down. Oh well. I hope you like it.

@cbabie I am so very sorry about your friend’s passing. I will also pray for her family and for your sad heart. I’m glad that to read that you had a good Christmas with no drama and lots of fun. That is the way it should be! :)

@trooworld Love the shadow box!! <3 Dual monitors will be great for you since you are working so much from home. I love that I have a new computer to actually get work done and not spend half my time throwing a hissy fit. Yeah, my weight needs to start moving down too. I’m afraid to step on the scale. :D

Good morning! We had a wonderful Christmas and as usual, I ate way too much food and drank too much wine. It was a very special day, and my mom loved every moment of it, which was something hubby and I really wanted to do for her. I of course was completely spoiled by DH and my mom. My main gift and the biggest surprise was the Apple watch that DH gave me. I was blown away and I LOVE it so much!! <3 My main gift to DH was this portrait of Maggie Mae that our sweet friend, painted. She is a very talented artist and on staff with me at our church. Here is her website if you want to see her work. https://meredithraifordart.com/ Yesterday, DH and I took down all the Christmas decorations and today I’m deep cleaning the house and getting it ready for the New Year. I also received 5 new puzzles, so I really need to do some organizing and figure out where to put them all. :D

@trooworld I got 50%. I like the blue in the shadow box.

@gemwolf110 What good things did you do for yourself this week?

@cbabie So back to making good food choices. Holidays are technically one day. We just treat them as weeks this time of the year. So sad for the family of our friend that died. I was looking at FB today and forgot that she had a younger brother. I was thinking it was just the three girls.

@teresaw1020 Go jump on the scale. Own it. Cute pic of Maggie Mae. It reminds me of the pic that my cousin drew for my parent's dog.

So I worked a bit on my quarterly goals for next year. I did so-so on my Q4 goals. Being shut in, I did an excellent job on decluttering I had planned on getting through one box and got through 8. They have sat in my office/nook for 8 years and got through them in three months. I was finally consistent on exercising. Started strength training twice a week and have kept that up. Water consumption is up from where it was this time last year. My daily habits are becoming consistent instead of being hit and miss. Only thing that didn't happen this Q4 was my weight goal. I thought I was close to it but I had copy/pasted from another one of my Trello boards and put in the wrong info. :s It was a monthly goal and not my final quarter goal. Oh well. So as of right now, I completed 18% of that goal. So I'm focusing on the gain and not the gap. I can do better next quarter.

So my word for 2021 will be PROGRESS

    # glasses of water 14/42
    Week 3 # glasses of water 34.5/42
    Week 2 # glasses of water 24/42,
    Week 1 # glasses of water 25/42,

    #OP days 2/7
    Week 3 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 2 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 1 # OP days 3/7

    # preplanned days 3/7
    Week 3 # preplanned days 6/7
    Week 2 # preplanned days 4/7,
    Week 1 # preplanned days 5/7

Hi all...well, guess we all made it through Christmas and are ready to proceed with the New Year. I have been walking most days, but not as consistent as I would like. My food has been terrible! Didn't think I made that many sweets, but have been eating way too many of them.

@theslightedgeforever I keep thinking I will try to finish them off & start with January, but I keep hearing you saying..no, just start now!! Lol. Glad you have made some of your goals and established some habits that will keep you going.

@cbabie Glad your holiday was more stress free. Happy Birthday, even tho I am late. I have a close to Christmas birthday (22nd) and my parents always made sure to keep it separate. Altho I usually had a Santa topper on my cake, lol. I am getting higher risk agewise, so maybe I can get the shot sooner than I expect? Probably not, since I don't have to deal with the public.

@TeresaW1020 Your Maggie Mae is so cute! What kind is she? She looks so much like our last dog, she was a LlhasaPoo, but everyone thought she was a Bichon. Glad you are enjoying your new computer. My dd has an Apple Watch that she loves. I had to laugh that your Christmas decorations are down, mine are staying up & lit until New Years. (but then you decorated way before I did)

@trooworld Your shadow box & the trees are cute. Glad you are enjoying the Cricut. My dd got one for Christmas, so if I want to try it, I'll use hers, lol.

@mswatson0777 Hope your dh is healing well from his surgery.

I am sorry about your friend that died from Covid. In response to trooworld saying she didn't know anyone personally, I have known 3 pretty well, and been acquainted with probably at least 5 more. I have been checking the obituaries for a classmate & that's where I have found out about some of them. My classmate (small class..about 40) had developed early Alzheimers & now caught Covid in the Nursing Home. For his family, it might have been somewhat a blessing, because I know his Alzheimers had gotten really bad. My dd is a friend of his dd and saw where she said they hadn't been able to see him since Feb.

We stayed home from OK, dd said she understood. We did see dd here for a little bit when we took the presents for the gkids. It was different to not see either, but kinda normal since we usually only see one or the other on Christmas Day.

Well, now our dishwasher conked out. We checked a few places yesterday & there are very few available now, unless I want to go to a $1000 model with all the bells & whistles & wifi, etc. Lowes told us it will be Feb or March before they get more of the models I might want. Said they are having a hard time getting a lot of things because of Covid. I can understand..we have had a shed for the tractor ordered (since the one was destroyed in the dorecho in Aug.) It was supposed to be delivered end of Oct, then end of Nov, then end of Dec, now not til sometime in Jan. I am ready to say, forfeit our deposit & order one from somewhere else, but probably wouldn't get it any faster. Even tho I don't like doing dishes, I am better about it than when I was working, so I can do without one until we can get it. I could probably even do without, but dh says if we ever sell we will need to replace it, so we might as well get some use out of it. So dh was checking into just replacing the motor, he is sure that is what is wrong, but can't even find one of them in stock either. Guess I just didn't think of appliances & things being in short supply with Covid.

Hope everyone has a good week. Stay safe & healthy. We are supposed to possibly get a big snow storm Tues & Wed. Oh well, not going anywhere anyway, lol.

@trooworld I love the pug cricut, how cute! And I alway save my favorite podcasts for walks, that way I've got extra incentive to go. Dual monitors are a game changer, I hope it makes working from home more workable for you!

@RetiredandLovingIt Not having a dishwasher stinks. I think you're right though that other places likely won't get it any faster either, mores the shame

@theslightedgeforever I think you should definitely celebrate those wins, that is absolutely fantastic progress on changing your habits! Thank you for the podcast reqs, I'll definitely have to check those out.

@TeresaW1020 What a beautiful painting! I'm so glad you had a wonderful holiday and were spoiled by your loved ones.

@cbabie I'm so sorry about your friend. So many are losing loved ones to this and it's so hard to watch people pass from something that could have been prevented. Sending lots of love to you while you grieve.

@gemwolf110 I hope you have a great break from work!

Hi Everyone! Sorry to be MIA. Between the SO coming out of surgery and the holidays I just didn't have the time or energy to pop on. SO is doing great, he's already off the major pain meds and is moving around which is a big win.

Other than Christmas I've been doing well food and treat-wise. I haven't been tracking or weighing but I've been feeling good and not bingeing so I'm calling that a win. Our friends made us a fabulous prime rib for the holiday and I enjoyed every bite.

I've got 7 more days off work before I have to return so I'll be filling it with healthy eating, exercise, and dissertation work. I want to end the year off right. Once it gets closer to new years I'll talk a bit more about my goals/plans and set new intentions for 2021.

@TeresaW1020 Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying your new computer! And congrats on the Apple watch, I hear those are good. Wow, that painting is awesome! I looked at her website, she's really talented. Good luck finding a place for all of your puzzles.

@theslightedgeforever I also got 50%. I'm impressed with your ability to look back at how you did with your goals. Congrats on the progress! And I think your word for 2021 is perfect. ;)

@RetiredAndLovingIt I am enjoying my Cricut! I've made a lot of stuff. That's good your DD got one, yes, you can try hers out! I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. I hope you can get a replacement for your dishwasher soon. We have a dishwasher but it isn't quite hooked up properly so, during the rinse cycle, water spews out of the output on the top of the sink. So, we don't use it, we just handwash our dishes. Someday, we'll get it fixed!

@mswatson0777 Thanks! I have dual monitors at my office, just not at home and I've been working mostly from home, so I've missed my dual monitors. I'm glad to hear your SO is doing great and off pain meds. That must be a relief! Enjoy the rest of your days off.

Hello all! I looked back at my weight from last year at this time and compared to that, I am down 11.6 lbs. Not the most impressive loss but I'm glad I'm down and not up. I also looked back at the goals I've set. One of them was to read 37 books. I've busted through that goal and have read 47 books. My goal of making more of an effort to spend time with my friends was made n/a by COVID. I did pretty well on tracking, except this past two weeks. I did not do so well drinking water. I did work on it, though.

    COMMITTED.
    Goals for December:
    - track 90% of food intake
    - drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day

@theslightedgeforever OK, I stepped on this morning and I’m owning it. It’s not pretty but it’s mine! Good job on meeting so much of your goals. I love it when our daily habits become consistent enough that become a part of who we are.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Yup, I’ve been overeating the sweets too. Time for us to get a grip and get ready for an awesome New Year! Maggie Mae is a Cavapoo. Part poodle and part King Charles Cavalier. Most of the time she has the personality of a poodle. Yup, there is no trace of Christmas in my house except for the nutcracker puzzle on the table that my mom gave me. We had the same issue when we decided to get our new dishwasher. There was only one left in stock at our appliance store and it was more money than we wanted to spend but we did it anyway. I do love it and it's super quiet which is awesome when watching TV at night. ;)

@mswatson0777 So glad that your SO is doing great and healing. Not bingeing is a HUGE win! Take it easy and enjoy this next week off from work. <3

@trooworld, Yeah, she is very talented and just the sweetest young woman. Our church is very blessed to have her on staff. You have done great at meeting so many of your goals! Being down over 11 pounds in light of what this year has been like is awesome! I think you have improved on good habits that will give you a great New Year! :)

Good morning! Well, I stepped on the scale this morning and it is up 5.5 lbs. Yikes!! :# My fingers were so swollen last night that I had to take off my rings. This morning, I’m focused on mindset and getting myself back to where I need to be. My fasting app is turned back on, my low-carb menu is planned for the week, and I’m about to start a new workout program that is sure to murder my poor body. My focus is to get my weight going back in the right direction. I go to Florida for my nephew’s wedding on February 5th and I want to look my best. So NO more candy for me!!

Morning all, I did not do well yesterday, but focused on me today. We have to leave the Christmas up until my grandson comes home for his surprise visit.. so I still have another Christmas dinner LOL. But as someone on the team stated, we just plan for it.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you for the prayers. You are focused and you know YOUR plan that works for you and you have a year to get you goals for the year. Short term goals are good and get us to our long term goals. I know that you can do what you need to do, but from your profile picture, I say you look great. Yea on the Apple watch, my DD loves hers...she wonders why I have a Fitbit..LOL

@trooworld I am excited for you to get your 2 monitors..yes it certainly makes work go better and less neck strain, eye strain, all of it. I am so glad you have your creative juices flowing....I think it makes us healthier. You have a lot to be proud of You didn't gain weight or stay the same...you stayed the course. and went out of 2020 with less weight and better habits in spite of a horrible year for our nation. (especially where you live) LOL

@theslightedgeforever You have achieved so much this year. I am so proud of you and you have helped me to continue on my health journey and not give up.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I am sorry your dishwasher took a dive, can you imagine if we all really had to go back to cooking over a fire, milking the cow, etc. NOT...I am grateful for what I have. LOL I hope you get the dishwasher you need soon. NO one likes to do dishes. Well I think my DH does...I think it calms him. LOL

@mswatson0777 So glad hubby is doing well. You know it took 7 means complete..You got this..LOL Sounds like your holiday has been going well, (minus DH having to have surgery). LOL. I think you are getting in the zone and making strides in your balance.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you. I hope to do even better in 2021. You sound determined! That's awesome. I hope your weight comes back down tomorrow.

@cbabie How lucky to have a 2nd Christmas dinner! :D Thank you, I did get the 2 monitors set up however, dual monitors is not supported with my work's version of Office through remote desktop. But I can still use it for work in a way because sometimes I have to search the internet and I can do that from the 2nd monitor now. I agree about creativity making us healthier: it makes us more balanced and ready to live a healthier life. I do hope that 2021 is better for us all.

Hello all. Yesterday was a better day than the day before and that day wasn't too bad so I think I'm doing pretty good now. I just haven't tracked for 2 weeks. I think I will track today. Right after I'm done typing out my responses.

@teresaw1020 I'm sure most of that weight is just sodium, but the candy doesn't really help your blood sugar. Having said that, I can't seem to stop eating mini candy bars. I put them in my closet so I wouldn't see them and then I started eating them in the closet. :o this is so unlike me. It's like I've been invaded. I'm working on my January goals to see what I really want to do.

@gemwolf110 Tell us something you did right for the day.

@cbabie You are hanging in there and have shown progress as well this year. How is grandson's visit a surprise if you know about it. lol Fitbits are cheaper than Apple Watches aren't they? That's why I have a fitbit. Mine basically does the same thing. It does everything I want it to anyway.

@trooworld I got 50% You have had a wonderful year. Most people gained weight during 2020. But look how much you lost. That's awesome. You are an inspiration to us all.

@retiredandlovingit At least you are still walking and can continue doing better this next year. How much weight do you have left to lose to meet your ultimate goal?

@mswatson0777 I'm still working on my next quarter goals. I'm trying to reword them since obviously the wording for this quarter didn't seem to make much of an impact. I'm glad that your SO is much better. One less thing to worry about.

    # glasses of water 20/42
    Week 3 # glasses of water 34.5/42
    Week 2 # glasses of water 24/42,
    Week 1 # glasses of water 25/42,

    #OP days 2/7
    Week 3 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 2 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 1 # OP days 3/7

    # preplanned days 4/7
    Week 3 # preplanned days 6/7
    Week 2 # preplanned days 4/7,
    Week 1 # preplanned days 5/7

My day was a little better, but still had 2 pieces of candy, 2 sugar cookies and a bowl of ice cream...LOL It was all due to stress, I know what causes it, but I need to refocus. if it's any help the bowl is a small cup..LOL

@trooworld You and I need to track a least 1 meal today. Get ready set GO..LOL. That stinks about your dual monitors..glad you can utilize it partly. That's finding the good above the negative!!! Yea for you

@theslightedgeforever I had to laugh, I did the same thing with the Christmas candy...I have to hold on to some for my grandsons visit and it's in the closet so others won't eat it..I better put it somewhere else. LOL. It a surprise to his mother and Pop...They now know he is coming, but not when. Only I know when..(he needs a ride from the airport) LOL

@trooworld Congrats on being down almost 12 lbs and reading 47 books! That is a fantastic accomplishment for the year. Any goals for the upcoming year?

@cbabie Sorry the holidays are such a stressful time for you. I stress eat as well

@theslightedgeforever I'm still working on my goals as well. It's hard making them SMART goals instead of vague wishes

@TeresaW1020 It sounds like you have a great plan going forward. I wouldn't worry too much about the bloat, it'll be gone soon enough!

Hi Everyone! Everything has been going really well in this corner of the world. I have been deeply enjoying my time away from the office and have been reading books for fun and binge watching various TV seies. Edgerton just came out on Netflix and I absolutely adore it.

I've been doing okay food wise. I'm definitely not in weight loss mode but I'm also not bingeing which I call a win. I'm also getting a daily walk in and a daily workout. We've gotten all the holiday food out of the house which is helping. I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow and will make a couple healthy recipes to get me through the rest of the week.

@theslightedgeforever I got about 125%! Thank you for saying that. I appreciate your support! <3

@cbabie That's good it was a small cup. That's better than if it were a big old bowl! :) I tracked 90% of my intake yesterday. How about you? Yes, I like the dual monitors...I can work on one monitor and keep an eye on my personal email on the other...or, I can watch a YouTube video or Netflix on the other lol!

@mswatson0777 Thank you! Not binging is a big win this time of year! Congrats to you. It sounds like you are doing pretty well. Yes, here are my goals for 2021:
    Read/listen to 50 books
Track 90% of what I eat
Walk for 20 minutes, or do a walking video, 3 times a week
Drink at least 60 oz of liquids every day
Meditate for at least 10 minutes every day
