@mswatson0777 I have been wanting to check out Edgerton. Not sure my DH will like it but I might just have to turn it on and see what he says. Getting the holiday food out of the house and buying food that fits my plan is what I did yesterday too. I know we always say that these holidays are just one day but that isn’t really true when you end up with some much candy and snacks as gifts. I already told my mom that next year she needs to buy me more body wash and less chocolate. :D

@cbabie I hope you are doing even better today. Get that candy and cookies out of your house! ;)

@theslightedgeforever Being invaded is exactly what sugar does to my brain. Some candy-like really dark chocolate I can moderate and control but that stuff that is just pure sugar is like a drug for me. I’m doing a no-sugar challenge in January, which will help reset my brain. :/

@trooworld Did you track today? I think we must be determined as we go into this New Year. We have no idea what’s in store for us, but we do know we can control our responses. :)

Good morning! Yesterday, I did grocery shopping and I’m all set with low-carb dinners for the week and the candy is out of the house. After my shopping, DH and I went up to the church and we took down all the Christmas decorations and back upstairs to the storage room. The only thing left is the 12-foot tree and putting all the fake plants back on the stage. I texted the staff that they will be doing that tomorrow after our meeting. On Monday, I started a new Beachbody workout called #MBF (Muscle Burns Fat) and WOW is it a killer. Super fun and fast paced but my poor lower half is dying! Today is upper body and I’m already worried that I won’t be able to wash my hair. :D

@cbabie So I see you have one goal for the January. Track one meal a day, that's a good start. You lost all that weight before. How did you do it? You still had a stressful life back then. I know you did some of it eating fudgesicles and kettlecorn.

@mswatson0777 I'm working on making my goals SMARTER.

    mpxw4bar90i4.png

Start date. This is when you intend to begin installing this habit.
Habit frequency. This is how often you will observe this habit.
Time trigger. This is when you want to do the habit.
Streak target. This is how many times in a row you must do the habit before you can consider it second nature

So for instance: “Write 500 words a day, 5 days a week at 6:00 a.m., beginning on February 1, and do it for 100 days straight.”

Hyatt, Michael. Your Best Year Ever (pp. 129-131).

@trooworld I got in 50%. Nice goals for the new year. What do you need from us to help keep you on track.

@teresaw1020 Candy usually doesn't bother me. I'm the eat one Hershey kiss and be satisfied type of person. Don't know what happened here. Yes, all we can do is control our actions and little space around us. I'm going to work on hyperfocus this next month.

    # glasses of water 23/42
    Week 3 # glasses of water 34.5/42
    Week 2 # glasses of water 24/42,
    Week 1 # glasses of water 25/42,

    #OP days 2/7
    Week 3 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 2 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 1 # OP days 3/7

    # preplanned days 4/7
    Week 3 # preplanned days 6/7
    Week 2 # preplanned days 4/7,
    Week 1 # preplanned days 5/7

@teresaw1020 I'm sure most of that weight is just sodium, but the candy doesn't really help your blood sugar. Having said that, I can't seem to stop eating mini candy bars. I put them in my closet so I wouldn't see them and then I started eating them in the closet. :o this is so unlike me. It's like I've been invaded. I'm working on my January goals to see what I really want to do.

@gemwolf110 Tell us something you did right for the day.

@cbabie You are hanging in there and have shown progress as well this year. How is grandson's visit a surprise if you know about it. lol Fitbits are cheaper than Apple Watches aren't they? That's why I have a fitbit. Mine basically does the same thing. It does everything I want it to anyway.

@trooworld I got 50% You have had a wonderful year. Most people gained weight during 2020. But look how much you lost. That's awesome. You are an inspiration to us all.

Hi! I went food shopping last night and didn’t over buy stuff. Instead of getting a pizza I went to Panera and got half of a turkey bravo, cup of broccoli Mac and cheese, and a strawberry banana smoothie. I only had half of a slice of my moms cranapple coffee cake that day. Didn’t eat dessert

Morning all, I went for a walk yesterday, didn't track still waiting for drama to go away..I believe in miracles. Until then, my plan is to track 1 meal a day for 1 week. Then modify again. I should make it a meal I don't normally track..Dinner LOL i jumped on the scale on Tuesday and I had gained 2 lbs. I am going to WI in on Friday so I know what I am starting my year with and then make my weight goal for the year. I also have to add exercise in my routine. I found my "Shape" DVD it was from WW. I am going to try to do that again.

@gemwolf110 Great job on shopping and eating!!

@trooworld I love all your goals. I need to have a book goal this year. I am still working on my goals. I was in a meeting yesterday for Mary Kay (I know of this) but reminders are important. LOL. 6 areas of goals, work on 2 or 3 at most at a time.

@TeresaW1020 Yea on the food shopping. I have a friend who is a coach for Beach Body and she just sent me an email again to join her.. NOT. Before I pay money for something, I want to know I will do it. LOL. I hope you are not too sore. But I love feeling sore a little because I know that's a good thing knowing you moved that much.

@theslightedgeforever You are so funny...Love the Smarter graphic. I counted points and stuck to it. I will do this. I am weird, I am really just waiting for 1/1/21 but trying to prep myself for that day. I don't know why I can't just start today..

@mswatson0777 So glad you are actually enjoying your time off. I think you made me smile real big.!!

Hi all..we got about 9-10" of snow yesterday. I should have helped dh get rid of it, but he used the snowblower, so not so bad. Instead I cleaned all the bathrooms, lol. My fitbit count was terrible, tho, because I took it off while doing that. I did walk on treadmill for 30 minutes this am.

@theslightedgeforever I like the Smarter graphic. I am still trying to figure out my goals for 2021.

@cbabie I guess I am weird, too, I am waiting for 1/1 also. I know I should be starting right away, but...

@TeresaW1020 Good job with getting rid of the candy & doing the grocery shopping for your lo carb meals. I don't think our church will take down the Christmas decorations for a little while yet.

@mswatson0777 Glad you are able to relax a little.

Well, my dh (Mr. Fix-it) decided to take the dishwasher apart & see what is wrong. It was the motor, but he thinks he has it going again. But also doesn't think it will last, so he ordered one to put in it. Not sure when it will come & he isn't sure if he will put it in or send it back & wait until we can buy a new one. Just putting the motor in this one would be the cheaper option, if we are satisfied with it otherwise. He loads it & unloads it, so I say its his call, lol.

Not much else in my world. I saw something interesting..I think it was Scottish..they open the back door right before midnight to send the old year out and then open the front door right after midnight to usher in the new year. Think we need to do that and get rid of 2020, but then it would require me staying awake to do it. Not sure it will happen, lol. Hope everyone has a good, safe New Years Eve. I am ready for a better 2021!!

@mswatson0777 I started watching Edgerton yesterday and I loved it! I will continue on with it.

@TeresaW1020 I am liking Edgerton, too. I did track yesterday. You are probably right about being determined! It sounds like you are all set for this week. I hope your workout isn't too bad.

@theslightedgeforever I got 50% yesterday as well! I think I just need your support in general. I can't think of anything specific.

@cbabie I think that is an excellent plan! Yeah I find it really helps when I set a book goal. I can't wait to hear your goals for the year!

@RetiredAndLovingIt Ugh snow! It's so pretty but sooooo cold! lol Your DH is sure handy. My husband is the opposite of handy lol. That's interesting about the Scottish. Have a great New Year!

Hello all. Speaking of handy husbands, we got an IKEA bookcase that I'm *hoping* my DH will put together on Friday. If he doesn't put it together by Sunday evening, on Monday, I will begin trying to do it myself! He tends to put off handyman things, as he isn't very good at most of the things. He's okay with putting shelves together and such BUT...last weekend, we put together a desk we got and we put nearly everything on backward so we had to take the pieces off and redo them. It was super frustrating! I've heard IKEA directions aren't very good so I fear for this bookcase lol.

In other subjects, I am making appetizers and we are having that plus champagne tonight. We both wonder if we will make it to midnight, it seems to be 50/50 whether we make it in past years. I will most definitely need a nap before the festivities begin. I'm also getting the 2nd dose of the shingles vaccine today so I may not feel very well.

@gemwolf110 You did a great job on your food choices. Little things here and there will make a difference.

@cbabie I wasn't trying to be funny. lol Just showing you that it is possible to lose weight during stress and eating not so healthy things. Years ago when I first joined eDiets and did a Dr. Phil mealplan, Whenever they suggested 1/2 c. milk, I substituted a chocolate Hunts Snack Pack. it worked. I lost 22 lbs that way because I followed all of the other foods. The 2-3 goals fits in with my Michael Hyatt plan too. I have goals but I have targets within them.

@retiredandlovingit Some of my son's old roommates from Des Moines were supposed to fly to Houston yesterday. I wonder if they got snowed in? Great for your treadmill walk. I like that Scottish tradition. Mine is to watch the ball drop and sing New York, New York with jazz hands and high kicks. Well kicks......

@trooworld I forgot yesterday to say woohoo on your 125%. I got 50%. What is this show Edgerton you all are talking about. Do you mean Bridgerton? yaaay on your tracking. My hubby can be handy when he wants to. He just doesn't seem to want to on the list of things that I have written down. He kept telling me when I retire. Well hello, time is here. Now it will be just wait til it gets warmer or when covid goes away or when it's fall and then after the holidays......see where I'm going with this? He always says to me, you women want equal rights, why do I have to be the one to do this. You go on YouTube and learn how to do it. (I've often thought about using that same logic regarding the meals he eats.) lol He's lucky to have me. ;) I will say though that I am the IKEA bookcase expert now. I got tired of waiting on him and did it. (That was his plan I'm sure) By the way, there is no directions. It's a picture. lol I like words. I can understand words. My first one was put together with the help of YouTube.

    My January goals:

Achieve daily food, water and exercise targets:

carb cycling schedule- 100 to 238
    water 6 glasses
    exercise- 300 calories burned x5
    zone minutes: 30

    1486 cals average (weekly)

    # glasses of water 26/42
    Week 3 # glasses of water 34.5/42
    Week 2 # glasses of water 24/42,
    Week 1 # glasses of water 25/42,

    #OP days 2/7
    Week 3 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 2 # OP days 6/7,
    Week 1 # OP days 3/7

    # preplanned days 4/7
    Week 3 # preplanned days 6/7
    Week 2 # preplanned days 4/7,
    Week 1 # preplanned days 5/7

@theslightedgeforever I’m also planning to be hyper-focused this coming month. Maybe if we start out really strong we can keep the momentum going into the rest of the year. At least we can have it as a goal!

@cbabie Tracking one meal a day might be a good start for you. When I was tracking, I found it helped a lot if I made it part of my morning routine. Just open the tracker and put down what you think you will be eating. Then you can go back and tweak if need be but at least you tracked something. Yeah, paying for BOD wouldn’t be worth it if you didn’t use the workouts. For me, it’s one of the best $100 I spend a year! :)

@RetiredAndLovingIt, Yikes that is a lot of snow! :o We have always taken down our church decorations right after Advent and then we can start the New Year fresh and without new series. That is cool if your DH actually was able to fix the dishwasher. My DH’s job is loading and unloading too. I’m the cook in this house. Are you in yours? I might try that opening and closing of the doors if I stay awake tonight. :D

@trooworld, OK that is two for Edgerton so I will have to get DH and me to check it out. Right now we are addicted to two shows. The Blacklist of Netflix and The Last Alaskan Frontier on Hulu. Completely different types of shows and both my favorite thing to watch right now. IKEA is a pain in the butt! Our entire home office with desk and bookcases and shelves is IKEA and there was much cussing involved when DH put them together many years ago. Good luck with your bookcase! Your New Year’s Eve sounds fun. Will you try to stay up and watch the ball drop? I heard that they will have first responders and their families in Times Square instead of the million people they usually have every year. Yeah, you might not feel very well. That second shot kicked my DH’s butt for a couple of days.

Hi everyone! Happy New Year’s Eve! My plan for tonight is to drink champagne, finish off my dark chili chocolate bar, and watch comedies with DH. We have decided on Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Airplane. Champagne and ridiculous humor is my kind of fun! I have my charts, planner, and spreadsheets all ready for the New Year, and like I told theslightedge above, January is going to be hyper-focused. I just got in the new pantsuit that I plan to wear to my nephew’s wedding and it’s super cute but the top is a little snug. So I have a month to get my tummy to flatten a bit more. Of course, I do have Spanx to help with the process. ;)

Afternoon all, been a different busy here today. Most everyone in my house had some kind of nightmare last night and I dreamed an awful lot. I heard in my spirit how the animals KNEW something was about to change the earth forever on Christmas Eve night...I felt like 2020 is ending and we sense the excitement of 2021. Who knows..could be I am just wishing. LOL. I was working on a paper that says.."Creating 2021". A lot of questions and as I read my answers it is my goal to have health. (Spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and Financial). One of the questions is What is an underdeveloped talent you are willing to explore is 2021... "Blogging/Writing". It was good to look and explore what I think for next year. So here are some things I am putting as goals and then will be defining later.

12 Books this year _ some for knowledge and some for pleasure
Change my eating habits - includes the tracking
    Consistent in my health
1 craft project a month - sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, etc. (that relaxes me)
    laugh more

@TeresaW1020 I love you NY plans...I think you gave trooworld a view of the future with the bookcase.LOL. Maybe someday the $100 will be worth it to me. LOL

@trooworld I am like my sister, what is this Edgerton..I can't find it. LOL we could have our own Neflix club on here.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I love love love that Scottish thing. Your DH sounds like mine...I think we are all about the same age...probably how we were trained. :)

@theslightedgeforever I will let you know when I get my goals finished, still trying to work in the book.. I am feeling much better about goals than in the past few years. You are right...I worked the points back then. What ever fit into the points I had for the day...I need to look at Calories as points...maybe..LOL. The points really worked for me..the only thing that really did.

I hope everyone has a great Safe New Years Eve and we all start the New Year refreshed and ready to achieve and tweak our goals as life happens.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks! Yes, we mean Bridgerton lol...easy mess up. There's always an excuse, eh? :D You should totally use that logic with food! Haha No words? Great...yeah I already found a YouTube video to help us. I predict a lot of frustration and maybe even an argument lol. Good January goals. I look forward to seeing you meet them.

@TeresaW1020 Okay, make sure to look for BRIDGERTON, not Edgerton lol...@theslightedgeforever caught that. ;) I predict a lot of cussing and redoing steps with the bookcase lol. We ended up taking a nap and getting up at 9:30-10:00 (I got up at 9:30 he got up at 10) and watched it. Yeah, that was cool that they had first responders there. I have a headache but other than that, I'm okay. I love both of those movies, great choices for NYE! You sound determined, yay! You'll get there.

@cbabie Wow, those are interesting dreams! I hope you are right. I love your goals, they are attainable and balanced. Walking is very important and you did well with it in 2020. Keep it up! :) LOL...she is right, it is BRIDGERTON. It's a show based on historical romance novels by Julia Quinn. It takes place during the Regency era in England, so there are interesting costumes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridgerton

Happy New Year everyone! I didn't end up making appetizers because I was being lazy but we ordered Thai food for delivery. We are making the appetizers tonight instead. We took a 2-hour nap and woke up at around 9:30/10 to stay up to see the ball drop. I don't know why but I always get tears when the ball drops. I guess it's hope for the new year. We stayed up until 1:00 am and then went to bed. I woke up at 5:20 am with a splitting headache and have been up ever since. My word for the year is actually a phrase. I took it from something @TeresaW10210 posted. My phrase is: CHANGE HAPPENS. I chose this because I need a polar shift in my thinking and actions and I think it represents my attitude going into the new year.

My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS.

We had neighbors lighting off Fireworks starting about 7 until well after midnight..The dogs were awful, shaking panting, pacing. It was NOT a fun NYE night. I was hoping that meant all of 2020 uglies were gone, but the way my morning has started, I say we are still working on that theme. LOL. I am determined to eat more protein today and less sugar and carbs. I will only know by tracking. So here's to starting off strong to finish strong.

@trooworld LOL I love your saying, but when I read the post before I saw the picture, my mind said this..it was my saying for most of my life until I quit cussing...I even had a key chain with this on it.. S### Happens...It was my favorite saying, but I think yours is much better and a better mindset. LOL. I hope your bookcase goes together easier than anticipated. Glad you got to see the ball drop..yes a new year...looking for new hope and change!

@trooworld Ohhh I love your phrase for the new year and that I helped to inspire it! That is such a good Tony Robbins quote! It’s like that quote that says, “losing weight is hard, being fat is hard, choose your hard.” You are going to have an incredible year!! <3

@gemwolf110 Happy New Year!! I love your fur babies!! It’s good that you have a sectional so you can also have a place to sit down. :D

@cbabie I feel your pain with the dogs! :# We totally forgot that there would be fireworks last night and didn’t give Maggie one of her anxiety pills, so it was a rough night of her barking and growling. We were up until almost 3 with her and she woke up growling at 7 am and has been a grouch all morning. Yes, you have to start strong to finish strong. Love that approach! :)

Happy New Year! We had a good evening and watched Monty Python and The Holy Grail which I hadn’t seen in over 25 years so that was fun. We also ended up watching the Will Ferell movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga which was surprisingly good! :) I drank most of a bottle of pink champagne minus one glass that DH had and I had a bottle of beer and some dark chocolate. I had a bit of a headache but not too bad and I managed to get my workout done. Today starts my no sugar or wine January challenge and I’m going to try to stick to strict Keto and clean fasting. I need to get off this week’s 1.5 lb. gain and then seriously drop the rest of my weight this year. I’m going to do it!! B)

@teresaw1020 I hope everyone had a nice New Years. Hyperfocus ignition turned on. Let's just take a day at a time. I love Blacklist. I watched the ball drop cause that's my thing. lol Then I cry when they begin Auld Lang Syne. I have no idea why but I do every year. Same when I hear the graduation theme song. Doesn't matter if I know anyone graduating or not. lol I'm like Pavlov's dog. I love stupid humor movies. Spanx is our friend.

@cbabie Calories, points, carbs, beans, it's all just counting things. Why not do points if that works for you. There are free apps where you can count points and not have to join WW. I was thinking about WW today. Wondering if they had a new program since they seem to change it once a year. Just when people get it figured out I think. lol

@trooworld I got 50%. Bridgerton lol I only know it cause of my dd. She's been begging me to watch it. Hey, I see you are a crier too. lol I love your phrase for the year although I admit the first thing I thought of when I saw it was S**T HAPPENS. :D Yours is more hopeful. Nice Tony Robbins post.

@gemwolf110 All those dogs were giving me an anxiety attack. They are lucky to have you as their mama. I'm sure you spoil them rotten. I was looking at them thinking about the Sesame Street song, One of these things is not like the other..... Do you have your goals ready and written out?

@cbabie I just read your post about @trooworld's phrase. This is probably the only times in our lives we thought alike. Maybe you're the reason I thought of that. ;)

@teresaw1020 Do you have a big streak tracker you can check off your daily no wine or sugar for January?

@gemwolf110 Awwwww, your pups are so cute! Happy New Year to you as well!

@cbabie Yeah there were GUNSHOTS and fireworks all night here too, it was ridiculous. Luckily, my dog couldn't hear them or he'd be a mess. I'm sorry your 2021 isn't off to a good start but hopefully, it was just a blip and this week will turn around. Hahahaha! That's funny about what you saw.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you and thanks for inspiring me (in so many ways!). I'm glad you had a good new year's. I had a headache yesterday, too. I wish you luck this week!

@theslightedgeforever I got about 65% yesterday. I hope you like Bridgerton if you watch it. I am a crier 100%. I have cried when an old lady won the Price is Right. I have cried at stupid commercials. I cry at every parade. I am indeed a crier! LOL You and your sister need to get your glasses adjusted. lol

Hello all. Well, I started 2021 out strong yesterday: I went for a walk and I tracked all of my food. We were supposed to make the appetizers for dinner last night but that didn't happen because we did an epic cleaning and decluttering of the spare room and then attempted to put the bookcase together. By the time we stopped for the evening, we were both too exhausted and once again ordered takeout. BUT at least I ordered something pretty healthy: a poke bowl with lettuce instead of rice. As for the bookcase, it is about 80% done. We still have to put the drawers together (it has 2 drawers at the bottom). I cannot speak for IKEA's instructions as we found a YouTube video that has been extremely helpful and have been almost exclusively following the video. So far, the only thing we have done wrong is put the first shelf in upside down so the screws show. But we can't undo it, it would mean practically taking the whole thing apart.

My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS.

Morning all, I am living today with little sleep again. It's a good thing I know how to live without sleep. But my goal is to not be that person. I did not do well in eating late yesterday, BUT I DID track ALL of my food. I went for 2 walks and that is the start of my year. I am in an all day training today, so probably no walk, but it's also a time I can't really go to the kitchen and graze. LOL.

@theslightedgeforever Yes that is probably why you know S...happens. Maybe I will try to find the app for points, but maybe I just keep tracking MFP. Right? LOL

@TeresaW1020 I need to join you in the no sugar challenge. LOL. Sorry you have the headache, but it's not a every day occurrence for you to drink all that. LOL Or is there something you're not telling us. LOL only kidding. I am sure you got this year. You found your groove.

@gemwolf110 Your furbabies look extremely happy, so glad you have them and enjoy them.

@trooworld I love your phrase for the year...it's great. Glad you found the you tube video...great job on the take out. See you got this!!! We are all in this together this year!

@trooworld Yaaay for a strong first day of 2021. I got 100%. The good thing is life happened and you adjusted and made it work. That's what we have to do everyday. Just make it work. My first bookcase I put the shelf in backwards so the rough MDF part shows. Oh well, its in my closet. For me the hardest thing was sliding that back flimsy wood piece in. But I figured it out on the second bookcase.

@cbabie Celebrate what your small wins for the day. Did you eat right up until late evening? That's a win. Yaay for tracking and the walks. Now you have me singing High School Musical, we're all in this together and doing the motions.

I had a good day 1. Met all my targets. Now working on Day 2. Remember the Power Rangers? Today I was like FOCUS POWER! I'm going back to my old way of keeping track. I miss my halos.

    January goals:

Yellow Day- Stayed OP 130/164 gm o:)

@theslightedgeforever We were minutes away from watching the ball drop when the fireworks started, and Maggie lost her little mind. I just turned the TV off in disgust and we tried going to bed. I do have a tracker for my no sugar/wine challenge. See below. ;) FOCUS POWER is great!

@trooworld Good job on tracking and walking yesterday! That is helpful when you can find a video to watch on how to put something together. I try to do that and get DH to watch before he put something together. Doesn’t always happen and then I have to him the “I told you so,” look.

@cbabie Good job on tracking and walking, but you have got to figure out how to improve your sleep! What are you in training for? Yes! Join me in the No Sugar Challenge! It’s for one month. I figure I can do anything for one month out of a whole year.

Hi everyone! Yesterday, I did great at hitting my goals, and today, I’m even more focused. I had a killer workout and then did some housework. I’ve been fasting almost 22 hours and plan to push another two where I will have Keto chili and low carb cornbread. This morning I did our dinner menu for the whole month of January. I may tweak it here and there but I’m happy with it for the most part. I’ve got myself doing 3 days a week with 500 calories, 3 days where I eat two meals, and one day where I will eat one meal, but it will be a full dinner. All of them will be low-carb to Keto. I even scheduled for me to have two complete fast this month but will wait to see how I feel when that happens. I can always turn it into a 500 meal. Like Theslightedge, I am SUPER FOCUSED WITH FOCUS POWER!! And in case you are wondering, yes, I am the Pink Power Ranger.

Afternoon all. Hope everyone is doing well. Finally back at it after an aweful December. Just finished today’s workout. Did 40 min on treadmill incline of 2.0 and speed 3.8. Then did day 1 of a 28 day core workout thru mfp and a strength mobility Fitbit coach workout. So far my calories should be on par for the day. I try not to eat all my workout calories but usually dip into them abit.

@cbabie That's great you tracked it all. It's always a challenge to track when I overeat...I think I just don't want to face that I did overeat lol. 2 walks are awesome, too! Stay strong! Yes, we are all in it together!!!

@theslightedgeforever Yay for your 100%, well done! I got 50%. Just make it work. I like that! We haven't gotten to the flimsy wood piece yet (it is in the drawers, I think?). Sounds like you had a great day, good job!

@TeresaW1020 Thanks! Yes, the video is super helpful. Hahaha --> The "I told you so" look! Congrats on hitting your goals Friday! I hope you did as well yesterday, too. That's great you made a meal plan for the whole month. That should be very helpful.

@renaegry Well done on the workouts!

Hello all. We didn't work on the bookcase yesterday because my dog is very sick again. This time, it's either a bladder stone, UTI, or a tumor. They are running tests but in the meantime, they have given us antibiotics to give him. He wouldn't eat dinner last night which is really unusual and it's also bad because that means we couldn't give him his insulin shot. I hope he eats this morning. This is not a good start to the new year.

@teresaw1020 I love your no sugar challenge graphic. You can do it. Just take it one day at a time. Years ago when I did the Beverly Hills Diet (This is what ruined my body), I had a sign on my refrigerator that said, Just for today. So I would tell myself that I could do this Just for today. Be sure and do the arm movements when you say FOCUS POWER! I showed my dd last night and she said OMG. I said, whatever works.

@renaegry You can do it. I was saying, I'm back at it after an awful year. But for now I'm just focusing on today.

@trooworld I got 100% FOCUS POWER :D Sorry to hear about your doggy. Do you have your water times tied to any other habits?

Afternoon guys, It's been an okay day. I just watched a video of my mom singing, I had my ex SIL and her sister and husband show up at church today. She is in town for a month. We used to sing together when we were in HS. I guess I am feeling nostalgic today. I tracked yesterday and did much better. I have tracked so far today. Went for a walk, had to go back after I came in. We had lost "bear" on our walk and had to go find him. Glad we did...can't go to sleep w/o blanky/bear..LOL I want to be healthy again. I am really looking at my life and how I can improve it.

@theslightedgeforever Yea for you ! Focus Power..I can just see you. LOL. I am not sure you are the halo type. .LOL. You are mischievous.

@trooworld I am so sorry you pup is sick again. I hope you find what the cause is and he gets better soon.

@TeresaW1020 I like your challenge. I am not sure I am up to it yet. I will let you know, at least I have your chart already so I can start anytime. (I hear my sister say, no time like now). LOL. I wish I had meals planned that well. I barely get though a day. One of my goals, but I have learned not to take on too many goals. meeting 1 is better than having 5 and meeting none of those.

@renaegry Sounds like your on target! 4C, that is really cold? I am sitting here in sweats, an undershirt and a BIG FLUFFY housecoat. All bundled up. it's 59 out right now...should be 68 in my home, but it feels colder. LOL. Thanks for stopping by.

@renaegry Good job with all your exercise! :)

@trooworld Ohhh no I am so sorry about your dog being sick again! That is so very stressful. I hope the vet can fix whatever his issue is quick and that it won’t cost you all a fortune. :/

@theslightedgeforever YES you have to do the arm movements! :D Love the idea that we just focus on today and what we can do. I think looking at the bigger picture can be too overwhelming and since we really can only control the moment that is in front of us that is what we need to do. Wow look at all those o:) Good job!! :)

@cbabie How sweet to have a video of your mom singing to be able to watch whenever you want to. It sounds like you are getting back on track and moving toward being healthy. Like your wise sister said above, just focus “Just for today” and do what you can on this day. And, I do hope you will join me in my no sugar challenge. But if not now then later will have to do. I expect this challenge of mine will go on for some time to come. ;)

@mswatson0777, thinking about you and hoping all is well. <3

Good morning! So, I woke up wide awake at 4:30 and finally got up at 6 am and made the coffee. I’ve been back on Keto for three days and I fasted extra-long yesterday, so my guess is that I’m in ketosis and my brain is fully charged. Not much planned for today. I need to work out, do my grocery list together for tomorrow and I will probably start a new puzzle while binging on my Low Carb MD podcast. Oh, last night we watched Bridgerton and it’s a keeper! I used to read a lot of Regency romance novels back in the day so this show is right up my alley! Not so sure DH agrees. :D

@theslightedgeforever Nice job! :D Our pup is much better today, thanks. I do have water times tied into some of my habits: after I drink my coffee, I drink 25 oz of water. I also drink water on the way to work but that is only once a week. I am going to start drinking water with meals as a trigger.

@cbabie Sometimes it's fun to be nostalgic. I'm glad you did better yesterday. You are fighting for your life right now. The pup is better now, I'll update below.

@TeresaW1020 I know, right? AGAIN. He's better now. It was very, very stressful. Girl, I get up at 4:00 a.m. most days of the week just because lol! I feel your pain. I don't get up that early because my brain is fully charged though, it's just insomnia. I'm glad you liked Bridgerton. ;)

Hello all. Thanks for your good thoughts for my pup. Yesterday, he seemed much better and back to his old cantankerous self lol. I think the antibiotics started working and I predict that the vet calls and tells me he had a UTI. I had planned on going for a walk yesterday afternoon but things changed: my husband wanted to be picked up early from his brother's and we decided to buy a new car. It's a 2021 Prius 20th Anniversary edition. See below. CHANGE HAPPENS lol. It's a lot more technologically advanced than our last Prius so it will take some time to figure it out and get used to it. I was driving like an old lady last night on the way home.

Sorry I haven't checked in in awhile. I handed the first three chapters of my dissertation in and spent the rest of the week off the computer reading for fun. It was glorious and I haven't felt this relaxed in YEARS! Today I'm back to work and back to the grind. I'm also tracking calories again cause while I feel I did okay over the holidays (no binges!) I definitely overate so it's time to be more mindful and accountable.

So my word of the year this year is Achieve. I will Achieve in my health goals, Achieve completing my research and getting a rough draft of all 5 chapters of my dissertation, Achieve this permanent promotion, and Achieve balance (although this will definitely be the most difficult of my goals).

Looking back at 2020, I chose Thrive as my word and honestly I think I thrived in the pandemic. I completed a draft of the first three chapters of my dissertation, got a promotion, got married, and while I didn't lose any weight, I didn't gain any either which I'm counting as a win in a global pandemic! It was a challenging year since the normal things I normally relied on for mental health were taken away from me, but all in all I think I adapted well and still got things done!

@trooworld So glad your pup is okay! And congratulations on your new car, it is absolutely beautiful!!

@TeresaW1020 I devoured Bridgerton too! My SO absolutely hates it, but I have always loved historical romance novels so I think it's perfect. I started MBF and really love it, I enjoy that they made it like a live zoom workout. What do you think of the program so far?

@theslightedgeforever I LOVED the Power Ranger and I also used to be the Pink Ranger, so I love your word of Power! Go Go Power 2021!

@cbabie I remember what a crisis it was when I lost my blanket as a child so I'm glad you found Bear. Congrats on getting back to your goals and cheers to a healthy 2021!

@gemwolf Love your couch full of dogs! We also had 5 dogs on our couch for New Years!

@renaegry So glad you got to spend some time outside moving your body.

@cbabie. Moi? >:) So did you meet your goal for yesterday? FOCUS POWER! I got stumped at the beginning of your post with ex SIL until I figured it out. I was running all the possibilities in my head. My first guess was a Scottish one. lol

@teresaw1020 Great job on getting back on track. We can do this.

@trooworld I got 100% Your water with meal habits sounds like a good one. one of mine is drink water when I exercise but I only do 5 days a week so those 2 days I was falling short. But I did better yesterday with my rest day. Congrats on the new car. It will be fun figuring it out.

@mswatson0777 You have been busy and focused. Good for you. The best part is that you got RELAX. I love your word. I feel better when I achieve things. What an achievement to maintain during the pandemic.

Morning all, it was fun reading all the post this morning. I did get 6 hours of sleep last night, some interrupted. but sleep none the less. I didn't eat totally well, but not bad. I didn't totally track, but going to go back when I am done here and track my night snacks...LOL.

@theslightedgeforever I laughed at the Scottish one...I did not meet my goal for yesterday, I am trying again today. NEVER give up. FOCUS power..LOL.when you google "focus power" you get this... xg4wanwl9k1d.png. So which are we?

@trooworld Oh I love the car, what a great looking car. See change happens.. happy your pup is better. I am so happy for you. You really made me think, when you said I am fighting for my life right now!!!

@mswatson0777 YEA for relaxation. I love your word for the year. You also looked back at last year with postive thoughts and truth. Good for you!!! Great job.

@TeresaW1020 I hope to do the challenge with you I just know I won't make it right now...so why do it. But that doesn't mean I am not striving for that. LOL my DH would not like Bridgerton at all.

I plan on reaching at least 1 goal and to do today. LOL
