Well hello again, I am running short on time today. Yesterday was a BUST....that 1/2 can of frosting that I hadn't eaten...well it got me yesterday. So I have dearly paid for that self indulgence. Note to self...remember how you felt and never do this again.

@gemwolf110 You are the energizer bunny...I can't eat bacon or any pork, doesn't agree with my body...but those look great. I need to do that this weekend. I have found that eating protein and cutting out sugar and high carb foods, I just plain feel better.

Thanks! Lost another pound at my official WW Thursday AM WI. CW of 187 is a new LOW, three pounds away from my GW!
I have been on my latest WLJ since January 2013 (SW 376.2).
All my other times on WW I quit following the program after losing the weight. This time I learned the the Program Works BUT you need to KEEP on the Program !
This time I have lost on PPV, SP and now Freestyle. They keep changing things so I try to keep up. I’m learning to handle Freestyle.
ETA: I just turned 70 so an Old Dog CAN learn new tricks!0 -
Good Morning Everyone
This is a bit off of our regular topic but wondering if any of you have had any experience with ocular rosacea. I have been dealing with rosacea for several years and now have, what the Dr. suspects, is ocular rosacea. Swelling, redness, and some soreness of the eyelids (just the left eye thank God). Its not really painful but it does make me very self-conscious. It also effects my vision because of the eyelid being so swollen. I am back on my meds for the rosacea and that is helping somewhat. Have also started using an eyedrop for dry eyes and that seems to help too. If any of you have any other suggestions, I'd really appreciate your input.
Finding this all very depressing and as a result its not doing anything positive for my weight loss goals.

Hey gang!
Good to see most of us made it today!! I am behind the 8 ball. I didn't sleep very well last night and MY EYES are trying to close. I am watching my GD puppy and I am NOT an animal lover or care giver...LOL I dropped her the 3rd day we had her home and thought I killed her. My GD used every word possible...as her brother sent her a text saying the puppy jumped out of GM hands and hit the patio floor...well she is fine it took a day for her to get back to normal, but GM is very cautious now..I lay with one ear open as she was put in a kennel and then she was up at 5 for the morning...trying to get ready with a puppy is worse than a baby. So I kind of went off what I know I should be...but I am really starting to see what works for me and what doesn't. Carbs and sugar are not my body'd friend. Just makes me crave more.
@TrishasTime I hope all is okay. Will be glad to have you back when the dust settles at your place.
@cmedwards52 I will ask my daughter if any of the essential oils we use might help that. She is a blessing with those.
@Jimb376mfp Congrats on what you have accomplished!!! You can do this. I reached my goal a long time ago and am still 1 lb under, but it was a HIGH goal and I really like myself about 10 lbs less. WW was good for me to learn portion control.
@trooworld I am so sorry you have all this stress. I fell as if stress is my norm and really it seems we live in a world that just creates chaos. So keep you thoughts on your goal, take time for you and you have all of us here supporting you!!

I’m here but no time to talk. My sister in law flew in on Wednesday night. She’s still having a hard time over her sisters death and needed a change of venue. So my sunshine is what she needs. She leaves Saturday night so I’ll be hit and miss til then.1

@cmedwards52 One thing I thought about was lavender Essential Oil, I use Young Living...lavender is soothing to the skin, but you might have tried this, I am not sure.. I just remembered that it is calming/soothing. You know, like what it does when you spray it on your sheets for relaxing..If you do try lavender I would dilute it with a carrier oil if you have never put it on your skin before.

I am back with a weight gain - but today is a new day. The ball went fantastic GD really enjoyed herself. She has just texted me to say that she has an invite to another school from a friend.
@trooworld - Your home is where you are supposed to be able to feel safe from the worlds challenges and it seems you cannot get relief even there. Hope your BIL is doing better
@theslightedgeforever - totally off my plan this week - gain followed but now I am determined to get back on.

Gemwolf. Sounds like you have a nice mix of workout options. I have to do something. My current plan isn’t working. So I need to revisit what I was doing July-September when I lost about 15 lbs. yes Pinterest can suck you in
Trooworld. Vision board I have one on my nightstand leaning up against my wall but haven’t really paid attention to it the last few months. It’s interactive (well only if I choose to interact with it). Time to get back to that too. I had my computer set to open on my Trello board which was working and my computer doesn’t work now. I need to change my opening page on my phone Having my goals right there in front of me helps so much.
Trishastime. I love GD’s dress. I think they call that balayage or something like that. So what contributed to your gain and how will you change it this week? For me and my gain, sister in law came and she seems to need constant attention. I did not put myself first. I didn’t exercise the four days she was here. So this needs to go onto my Trello board. So next time she comes I can be ready. Actually last time she came I continued with my eating plan and exercise program and lost weight. The difference was this time I was coming out of a slump and last time I was in the middle of a good place. So the question is how to stay out of the slumps? I just use Pinterest mainly for recipes I want to try or revisit and for outfits I like Sometimes I will use it for motivation for my health journey.

@theslightedgeforever - Thanks for asking. Like you not putting myself first - Issues with last minute things going wrong for the ball and if I am honest -eating the misery I felt from work issues
Today, I am pleased to say that I am on board, took puppies for a walk, using a new receipe "Chicken Primavera", made my lunch for tomorrow and put a check list in place, that I can mark of doing things that are required to put myself first. (like take gdgos for a walk, walk up and down one flight of stairs, get away from my desk at lunchtime, taked eep breaths rather than eat when under pressure
What is a trello board?? Is it like lessons learnt type of thing?

Morning all, I have been sick since Friday. I got a sore throat, but had to keep up with plans already made and when I was at home...just wanted to sleep ( and eat ice cream) So yea...my healthy food plan went out the window.
@trooworld I am so sorry for all the stress in your life..it's really awful that sometimes we have all the stress we do. That's when I either eat or sleep...depending..LOL I hope you get relief soon.

There are a group of us that have been on the WW site for years and we are starting over here. We are hoping to keep our group and add to our group with more interaction here. Some of us do WW tracking, some do MFP, some just do on their own. The most important thing is accountability and encouragement. We strive to encourage, as we all have our own things we are working on to improve. However, it all comes down to HEALTH. We can't take back the years of abuse, but our bodies are amazing and heal themselves when given the opportunity. We will post on this THREAD every day, we will not start a new one. So bookmark this thread and come visit us everyday.

Trishastime. It looks like you have made small proactive plans to help you move forward in this journey. That’s what we need. not the big jumps but the small consistent daily steps will get us there. Planning is not my problem. It’s following the plan that I seem to not be consistent. I’m still working on those habits Sorry to hear you have been sick.

So I put a screenshot from my Trello board as my phone wallpaper. So I look at it all the time. I need reminders.
Then I just looked over the year and saw I was really doing well July-October before it all went downhill or I should say uphill really. I looked at the weekly nutrition stats and you can see a pattern of my averages between 1300-1500 and then it moved up to 1600 then 1700 then I didn’t track everyday and here we are. So the beginning of my slump was the 1600 range. I need to learn to recognize the signs so it doesn’t happen again. Ds graduated and moved back home. That’s part of it. Little ds will graduate in May and move back home til he finds a job so I need to be on my guard during that time and not let history repeat itself. While I love having them home it does create a break in my routine. Suddenly donuts appear in the house I am stronger than donuts

Today is hump day (Wednesday) in Aussie, I am glad the ball is over and now onto the next thing. In Aussie unless you leave in the country, the kids do not really move out to go to university.

Late Afternoon: I got so busy catching up on everything I had not done with being sick, I guess I didn't get on here. Sorry. I still have a itchy throat and a tickle that makes me cough every once in awhile. Otherwise doing better. I am tired and would like to take a nap, but I have worship practice in an hour. Hopefully I won't sound too raspy.,LOL I have had 2 days of no sweets, meat, cheese and nuts AND LOTS of Water.
@trooworld Yes my house is always cleaner when I know someone is coming over, but because of life that has happened in the last few years, no one really comes over..LOL I am sure you have done the very best and poohpooh on anyone that would make you feel otherwise.
@TrishasTime Interesting about the university life style. I think it would be financially better unless it's a scholarship type thing if all students went local. However, here unless you like debt the university here is expensive. ASU is a great school, but also great in price.
@theslightedgeforever I started my Trello board up again today. You should see the picture that I put on the background for Children's Church, It makes me smile every time I go in there. Yes adult children have caused me to lose lots of weight and gain lots of weight,.. LOL

Trooworld. Get back to tracking. You won’t know if you stay within your points if you don’t track (says the person who didn’t track today). I had just told myself that right before I read your post. You’ve just got one leg off the rail. Jump back on while it’s easy. You were doing so well. So think back over the last 4 days and what you could have done differently. So next time something big comes along that takes priority over your health you will be ready. Add them to your Trello board. I have a Habits and Excuses board with a food list and exercise list On my cards I put the reasons I couldn’t stay on plan for that meal/day or exercise (excuses) Then as I read down them sometimes I notice patterns. Sometimes I add a solution card. With having to visit the hospital each day it’s too tiring to cook and too easy to grab bad food. How about keeping some Smart Ones in the freezer for those occasions? I say the garlic bread is fine as long as you track it and it fits into your daily points. Maybe less of it next time so you still get the taste? Could you make that WW bread into garlic bread and freeze it so you just need to pop out a slice. Lower points. This is an example of what I would put on my cards. Sit back and admire your apartment. You have worked hard.
Trishastime. Yes Kanban. That’s exactly the word and was the name of my first board. There are good and bad things I have found about having the kids away at college. I still would have been “mommy” had they stayed at home and felt the need to do things for them. Now I have moved into an advisor role. What one thing did you do right on your health journey today?

I agree with you on college I think first year especially at a local college to get some of the basics out of the way at a cheaper price I guess depends on what field you are going into and will all your credits transfer. I’m just glad we are heading to the finish line for my children. Of course now it becomes looking for jobs. Hooray for you on no sweets. Glad you are feeling better.

Hello all, I am behind in getting on here as I sit with a puppy on my lap...LOL I feel as if I am in charge of a new born. I swear just about the time I think I am getting my routine...it gets changed. I have been listening to a bunch of things with my Mary Kay and it has challenged me on several sides. Before I had given my heart back to Christ, one of my favorite sayings was S*** happens. I had a key chain with that on it...now we are talking at least 28 years ago and up until this past year I had that thing in a drawer. Why am I telling you all this? Because yesterday I heard something that stuck...SHIFT Happens!!! We are all in the shift mode, which way are you shifting? Life never seems to be ho hum...same today as yesterday, so SHIFT has to happen. LOL

@theslightedgeforever - I support various corporate applications and we use Kanban to talk to our Corporate customers as to where their enhancement, break tickets are at. I ate well all day - used my list for the past 2 days, so it means I have gone up and down 2 4 flights of stairs and moved away from y desk at lunchtime.
Got to run and tidy up before the cleaner comes (mm that does sound strange)

Morning:
I am feeling better today, but still have the tickle in my throat. I got hot while singing, had to take my jacket off so I wouldn't start coughing...LOL I have not tracked at all, I am just in the lets eat no carbs/sugar mode for 4 days. I have to start down this journey as I really don't want health issues. I could go down the gluten free path, but not sure that's really what I need. I just know I don't need sugar. Right now I am craving my PB, but trying to not eat it one more day. I want control in my health.
@trooworld I had to laugh, I could see Wonder Woman in my head with your secret identity. Yes I am in AZ and we are having the same weather. I hate COLD.. but I am grateful for no snow.Congrats on the loss, Great job.

Happy Friday! I didn't do great last night, I gave in to the ice cream and pb....emotional eating. However, when I got up and took my shower, I stepped on the scale and I am down 2 lbs, so that tells me that my eating plan is working. That gave me the incentive to not give up and say why bother I can't do this.
@trooworld LOL I laughed, that's how I feel about my DH...I have to give EXACT directions..Did I ever tell you the meatloaf story? I hope you have a good day and yes we need our other friends back.

@trooworld - If I let my husband prep dinner, he will cook steaks with the fat still on which is okay for him but not me. I have ended prepping / cooking most of the food as then I know what is it. I think I have made a rod for myself.

Today is Saturday, a nice 30 degree celsius and we are taking the dogs sheep herding. The have tea and cream biscuits up there, so I need to be mindful. I recorded the same this week which is a blessing as I worked 3 x 10 hour days.

Morning all! I have been busy, my weekends are always crazy busy. I am getting back to normal, yea. I talked to my sister about carbs and how I felt eating them. So I am going to try to track everything and see where I feel the best..and stick to that. Exception we have a 3 day fast with my church next week, so between then and now..LOL
@trooworld the meatloaf story...why I don't let my husband cook without very detailed instructions!~
I made meatloaf put in the fridge with saran wrap over it, told my husband to cook at 350 a before I get home..well while eating the meal..I asked why the meatloaf was "chewy"...it dawned on my..."DH did you take the saran wrap off before putting in the oven?" Hence details details... glad your inspections over..

Gemwolf. Ouch on your dog. Dogs nowadays seem to have more human health problems than when I was a kid or is that just me thinking that. Are stones common for that breed of dog

I took my mil to the doc the other day. We got to take her off cholesterol meds and reduce her diuretic by half. Her A1c for diabetes is coming down Always nice to hear someone’s health is getting better0 -
Morning: I got in late last night and had taken yogurt pretzels to a meeting and 2/3's came back with me. I have to tell you I ate too many on the way home. I was tired and crunching kept me awake..UGH. Oh well the good news is bagels didn't sound good to me today, only a protein shake did.
@trooworld Yep that's why we keep him out of the kitchen. My 16 yr old grandson is a better help in the kitchen. LOL I liked the early shift...I am a morning person, so it was good for me.
@theslightedgeforever Such good news for your MIL...I am sure you DH is glad.. we have seen so many heart breaking things among our elderly, I don't want to be one of them.
