Hi everyone- been a stressful few days at work and have not had the chance to drop by expect of course to log meals.

    @trooworld - Hope you have a fabulous time :)

@theslightedgeforever - Glad you are tracking steps - generally I m round 10K but work had me sitting on my but processing end of month, so steps were around 5K

@cbabie - Yes I need to get back to preparing. Long days kind ogf wipe you out but today is a fresh day and I am doing well
@cmedwards52 - Hello - I am new to the group, I am from Aussie. Sorry to hear about our FIL but I love your DH motto

My good new is that I did something for a neighbour who is selling her home as her husband has got a new job several thousand kilometres away. Settlement is Monday and the house inspection came up with some water faults. I got them fixed yesterday and this is what arrived at my office - I am so blessed

trooworld Hope you are having a good time in Colorado. We are watching you through your phone camera. lol So make good choices.

trishastime What lovely flowers. Plus you are a good neighbor. You don't find many good neighbors anymore. Most people don't know their neighbors. I see a night of relaxation in your future. I should get in 10000 steps today.

trishastime: Thank you so much and welcome. Looking forward to hearing all about your beautiful country. I live in British Columbia, Canada and needless to say, VERY PROUD of that!! Lucky neighbours you have - the ones moving out and the new ones moving in and they don't even know about you yet (or maybe they do). We also have WONDERFUL neighbours. We have lived in this home for 34 years now and most of our neighbours have been here as long or even longer. The neighbours on either side of us are getting up there in age and we make sure we help them out as much as we can. Very selfish reasons however - we want them to be able to be our next door neighbours for a very long time!! :) We all have large lots so always plenty to be neighbourly about - gardens, snow removal etc.

Having a good day today. Haven't been feeling well the last couple of days but much better now. I guess whatever it was that was bugging me has run its course. Thank goodness as there is a really nasty flu in these parts.

Well I'm off now to do a little more laundry and then some knitting while watching some of my favourite TV programs.

    Cheers, Carol

Cmedwards. Glad you are feeling a bit better. Sounds like we Americans could learn a lot from Canadians and Aussies. Your neighbors are lucky to have you I will make it a goal this year to get to know my neighbors better

I walked the mall for 25 minutes and then outside for 35. Went over calories though

    Morning everyone

I hear it is "Superbowl" today - does that mean you get a day off?? I went for a walk with the puppies this morning and found 5000 steps to start the day

@cmedwards52 - Glad you are feeling better and having a great day. Yes, I remember when all the neighbours used to know and help each other

@theslightedgeforever _ Nice walking, it will go towards any calories issues. Are you celebrating today?

I am at work, so this is short, catch you all tomorrow

Morning! I hit the depression wall on Friday and Sat....UGH...but God is working and I have been vertical since Sunday AM...well except to sleep last night. only got up 1 time..better than usual. I am making tiny baby steps toward life in general. I decluttered one of my closets yesterday...little by little..

@TrishasTime Such beautiful flowers! Glad your friend has you as her friend. Great start of your morning with 5000 steps...I am only at 2609 and I have to jump in the shower for my 9am meeting.. I think I am in meetings most of this day..UGH.

@theslightedgeforever Great job on walking the mall and outside. I haven't been to a mall in forever..mostly here at home or church..or in a car. LOL

@cmedwards52 Glad you are feeling better. I could never get knitting down too well. I did okay for a short stint, but crocheting has been one of my favorite yarn hobbies. I hope you enjoy your time!!

    Good Morning All

So frustrated here today. Just can't get that darn scale to go DOWN. I was doing really well in the Fall but then Christmas happened and I am having a really hard time getting back on track. I am up 7 pounds since December and it just doesn't want to move. Why is it so easy to put back on and so, so hard to take off again. Pretty sure it will help if I continue to post here. Thank you my friends, for "listening"!!

cbabie: doesn't it make you feel good when you have accomplished a "decluttering (or as I like to call it -dejunking) job? Good for you. Keep feeling better and "little by little" works just fine!! I love to crochet also. It always seems much faster than knitting. I knit lap blankets for a couple of the local Nursing Homes. They are always so grateful and that's a WONDERFUL feeling.

    Have a good one,
    Carol

    Morning everyone

@cbabie - I hope with all these meetings that you are making time for your health. Decluttering is a wonderful thing

@cmedwards52 - Have you used other signs like measurement etc?? I tried crocheting to give my hands something to do at night and my squares look lik blobs, so I have kinda given up

I am at home today, my foot is slightly swollen and I could not get into my shoes, so I will rest up most of the day

    Catch you all later

Trishastime Super Bowl is always on Sunday so most people are off if they have the weekends off. I was celebrating because Eagles won. I just didn’t want Patriots to win another. What is Australia’s national sport? Cricket? Rugby? Hope your foot is better

Cbabie. I spent the last two days being lazy. Along with that came food. Sigh. So no laziness for me tomorrow. Although I have to say I did walk an hour one of those days so half lazy on that day I don’t knit or crochet. I had an impatient left handed mother :). I was reading a book on sorting and decluttering this morning. It says most people think that to declutter is to throw things out. It’s actually keeping the things you love I’m trying to tie that thought in with body clutter

Cmedwards. I hear you on the weight. My struggle is food right now. I used to have a pause button. Don’t know where that went. Maybe I need to go buy a new one Very nice of you on the lap blankets. For Canada I’m assuming hockey? As a young girl I went to one hockey game. Very exciting

    Morning everyone.

Good to see all on the board, even me. LOL I sometimes don't do as planned. It's been a weird morning so no walking and I had a bagel for breakfast...but life goes on.

@trooworld Glad you had fun and you are back!!!
@theslightedgeforever You will get back on track, I have faith in you...yes you had the left handed teacher...I learned in a book...before the left handed teacher knew how...LOL
@TrishasTime Oh, I am sorry about your foot..keep it elevated. Yes I am trying to make little changes every day. Thank you for asking!
@cmedwards52 I like the dejunking, LOL I saw something on FB today and it was good, it said
"When the world says, "give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time"......You can do this!!

    Okay have a great day

Morning: I did my walk today, I am up to 5042 steps. I drank my protein shake and getting ready to log it.

@trooworld You know even IF you have a gain or stay the same....it will be different next week. This is not a forever act in your play!! :)

Trooworld. Sounds like a really good trip. You at least tried to make better choices with reduced fat items for Super Bowl. Think of past Super Bowls. You will get back on the train and be a loser again. Who knows you might have just maintained. If you flew, that causes a little water retention too. At least you tracked if you know you are in the negative

Cbabie good to see you so upbeat. I always learn better out of a book than if someone shows me. Maybe the trauma from this experience :)

I have had a rough couple of days. I think I’m decompressing from the strain of the last month or so. The last 3-4 days I’ve done nothing but watch Netflix. Seriously. Along with that came mindless eating. I’m in the negatives too but unlike Trooworld I didn’t track. But the body keeps count.

@trooworld - glad you had a nice trip sith your friend, spending time with friends is very important
@cbabie - How are you today?, great walking 5000 steps
@theslightedgeforever - I believe that is our body telling us that our mind needs a break. I can understand the mindless eating though. Today is a new day

Today is Friday - we will go and see NBL tonight. Not expecting a loss tomorrow byt hope to stay the same (please please)

Morning guys: I am in such a funk...I can't get control. I almost got on here last night and said I can't do this...I am who I am, I weigh what I weigh...I will never move on...but you know with each new day, you get up and say..one more try. I don't know what is going on with me...this is such a struggle...I just want to stop my brain and my mind from thinking!!!!

@trooworld Sounds like you got it all planned, GREAT job. congratulations on the no gain no loss!!!
@TrishasTime Thanks, I actually made 10 K that day before going to bed...but yesterday was a totally different story..LOL in agreement with you for maintaining!!

    Morning everyone

@trooworld - I am slightly jealous - I do not think we have celebrated Valentines day for over30 years. My husband declares it is too commericalised and it is what he does everyday that matters - not just on that one day (which is true). Ihave a good 360+ days of each year with him

@cbabie - I can only send out cyber hugs, you go through life the best you can, please do not compare yourself to anyone, they are not you.

Today I going with GD for an hour drive. She is on learners so if I do not get back here - you know I did not survive (lol m- only gidding)

Trooworld. Woohoo on maintaining. I feel like I’ve told you before. Maybe I started a post and didn’t finish it. Oh well. Isn’t that a great feeling. I have have gained back 9.5 lbs since fall. But always the chance to start over right. The rest of my weekend plans is my son and hubby are taking me out to dinner for my bday Calories don’t count on your bday Although tonight I was thinking okay so you can reach your goal by 55. Then the thoughts came you said that for 50, 45, 40, and 35 :( That’s really sad and disgusting. What wasted years The fudgy brownies sounded better. Lol

Trishastime I remember those days of teaching my son to drive. We had to log 20 hrs 20 hrs of me watching him not know what a brake is for or waiting til the last moment to use it. When it got time for my daughter I paid someone. Lol. My husband feels the same about Valentines Day ugh. He gives me the same song and dance “but I show you love everyday not just one”. I give him the same song and dance but I want the chocolates dang it But I’ll keep him.

Cbabie. Here’s a good podcast for you to listen to. That really means listen to it. There will be a quiz later.

    http://realweightlossrealwomen.com/wlmr094-thoughts/

How about thinking and recording in your journal all the ways you have gained control. Doing good for 23 hrs and then messing up for 1, you will look at that one and declare the whole day a disaster.

Okay off to do some other stuff

Gemwolf. Great goals there. Now be more specific. I just listened to a podcast talking about goals and how we write them Your brain needs to know exactly what you will do to be successful so it doesn’t have to make so many decisions during the day which depletes our energy. It says make the decision once and stick to it Then your brain will help you stick to it

So how often will you check in with us? Once a week? Twice a week?

How often will you exercise? When will you exercise? Before work. After work?

How will you eat healthier? Add more greens? Stay under X amount of calories/carbs/points/ whatever you count? No nighttime snacking? Whatever you think will help you lose weight and stay healthy

Hubby and I eloped I say save the money for a nice honeymoon or something big for your house. It lasts longer than the actual wedding. What field of study are you going to be doing?

Trooworld The food all looks good. We went to a steakhouse and I had ribs and salad. Ate 1/2 my serving of Mac and cheese because I never make that here anymore. I might do a cauliflower “Mac” and cheese Never tried that. Then DH asked me if I wanted dessert but after hearing you talk about brownies that’s all I wanted. Just a simple brxxxxxx. So I said not at the steakhouse but I did want one from DQ with hot fudge. Something plain and simple and I would really enjoy. I didn’t want to make a pan at home because I’m the one that would eat them all and I only need one. So I took him over there. It was a new one closer to the house and when we got there. The sign said Coming soon. Noooooooooo. I thought they had opened already. It was in a strip mall and looked finished to me. I was so disappointed. He kept saying how about baskin Robbins. Let’s get ice cream No I want a brxxxxxx. I’m the kind that once I have my taste set for something I may eat other things but won’t be satisfied so now I know not to waste the calories. So I went home. Still thinking about that brxxxxx though. Maybe I could make homemade brxxxxxs. No cause I only need one. So I thought. Oooh brxxxxxx in a mug. Pinterest. I made it. Blech. That was not a brxxxxxx lol. So as you can see I’m still thinking about those darn brxxxxxs. Although now I realize I’ve said it so many times I have you all wanting one too. Sorry. Troo started it. :) I went back and tried to make it easier for you. Here’s my attempt above. I ate half. I kept taking another bite hoping it would get better.

I gained almost another lb. this has to stop. So I’ve already preplanned my meal for tomorrow. I will do some sort of strength training

    Hi everyone

As you can see I survived. GD started to get grumpy after 75 min so we called it a day, that was of course after we nearly ran down a pedestrian. Silly woman was walking across a parking lot and expected a learner to go around her. Then the woman had a crack at GD. I calmly said to her, I do not see a pedestrian crossing here, you need to look out as well and then she wandered off.

@Trooworld and @theslightedgeforever - glad you both had a nice celebration for valentines day. I have noticed that @cbabie has not come back - do you guys have a way of checking on her?

Hi @gemwolf110 _ How long before your wedding? How very exciting :)

    Hi everyone
    Newly returned to MFP
I gave WW another try in January this year but could not wrap my head around “free food”

I guess I really believe that calories in/out is true as long as the choices are healthy

I am 62 young so it is a little harder to get the weight off. I have approximately 100to lose!!

I would love to join this group which seem to post regularly and is friendly

Morning to all, I have been fighting depression, but I am up and ready to right this ship as Trooworld says..LOL I have not had any sugar since Thursday night, but that is probably because I ate a 1/2 can of frosting that night...what was I thinking? Well I can tell you it wasn't good thoughts. I have been eating meat, cheese, nuts and basically that's it for the last 3 days. I find I am not as hungry all the time, but I will need more than this to be "normal" so working on it, but I know me and I have to gain control and I AM an all or nothing girl..my dear sister is well I can budget 2 cookies in..I am oh the pack is open and I will go back for 2 more..2 more...2 more...

@trooworld Your dinner looks absolutely yummy....I love your sense of humor that you put into life.

@jamiewilldo Welcome...I am 60 and I know how the weight comes off slower..LOL.. just chime right in with us, we love to come and visit and encourage each other.

@TrishasTime Thank you for asking them to come find me...I knew I would find my way back...weekends are hard for me to get on here...and I wasn't really in the best of my mind..my 19 GD rode with me yesterday and proceeded to tell me all the things I do wrong in driving and I drive too fast, I will get caught by the unmarked cars...we have many here,....I was like really? Please just let me drive, I have been driving on the freeways for 30 years and yes I drive FAST, but I also watch my surroundings and look for the other cars, because they don't look for me.. It's always amazing to me that pedestrians literally take that idea that they have the right away and abuse it... Glad you got to spend time with her.

@gemwolf110 glad to see you back here...my DH and I eloped as well...(sort of) but since my dad was the pastor...the church was not happy they didn't get to see my wedding..LOL But I was 17, that's my story and I am sticking with it. You will get your priorities in order, you are an organized person..I have faith in your abilities.

@theslightedgeforever ...good luck with the test...Sorry you didn't get your brownie, tell your DS to bring you home one, next time he goes out.

    Okay gals, gotta run

Trishastime Mine was a birthday celebration. Hubby believes 365 days of love are better than just one. Yes occasionally I have to send out the hounds for cbabie.

@jamiewilldo Love the profile name. Welcome to the group. Freestyle works for some and not for others Then there are those I’ve seen who just keep plugging to make it work. I think I would have a problem with it because I could see myself saying but I’m still under points. I need to know exactly how much my body needs versus calories burned. Then try to stick in that range. In my head I know what to do. Plus have done it. I’m currently in a slump that I’m trying to get out of.

Trooworld. I didn’t see your brxxxxx pic til afterwards. It’s all good. I enjoy seeing other people’s food. We all control the food that goes into our mouths It’s entirely possible I’m going to get one tomorrow. I have a free “coupon” in my mind I’m going to use when the urge hits me I’m going to enjoy it too. No guilt because I made a conscious decision to eat it Turn your ship around. You can do it

Cbabie. Now I’m saying yummmm frosting. :). See now I’m pointing fingers at you. Lol. That’s why I can’t have frosting in the house. I’ll do the same thing. This group should be a place where we can confess what we did Again we all control what we put in our mouths Did you listen to that podcast I posted. I’m thinking the answer is no but you have another chance today. Listen while you are driving. Go for a walk and listen. You can change from being an all or nothing. It’s all in the thoughts. Ok what test am I supposed to be doing good on.

I did 15 min strength training logged all my food but went over. I had chili planned and then suddenly went oooh chili dogs Sometimes my inner child controls me. Her name is Tina. Drank my planned 4 glasses of water.

Inching my way out of a slump

    Morning all,
I had a late night and woke up with a headache, but it is almost gone. It's our lovely cloudy weather. Good news is, my 11AM video conf call got cancelled until tomorrow..yea, I don't have to put my face on yet. LOL Still no sugar, just meat, cheese and nuts...this is only for a short time. Not that I will give up, but I know I am just kind of like detoxing my body. Then slowly adding back good choices.

@trooworld I am sorry for family business...praying for you. Thanks for the support.

@jamiewilldo I like your user name...:) Yes no falling, at my age, not good on the bones. LOL But I live where we don't get snow or ice and I am glad.

@Jimb376mfp Welcome, great job on reaching your goals! Yes there can be negative about WW as it does work for some and some it does not. I got to lifetime on WW, but decided it didn't work for what I was looking for at this time in my life. I would not have gotten my weight down in the beginning if it had not been for WW.

@theslightedgeforever NO I have not listened to you podcast, I know I have to or you will keep at me..LOL I will let you know. How about cream cheese? LOL

@TrishasTime Hope all is well in your world!

Hi everyone, first time posting and new to MFP. I have been on WW since Sept 2016 and have lost nearly 40 lbs.
    SW 236
    CW 197
I have been up and down so many times with my weight but always plateau right where I am now. When the program introduced Freestyle in December things got even worse. I have spent a lifetime in starvation mode, I eat very well, am not an over eater and when I started WW I had a hard time eating enough points to get my blue dots... Since freestyle I have continued to eat about the same but realized that the scale was stuck. I saw someone mention mfp and I thought maybe I should take a moment to actually check my caloric intake. Surprise but with the 23 sp a day, I am averaging about 900 calories which has put me back into starvation mode....
Can anyone tell me if you are doing better when double tracking? How accurate is the MFP "in 5 weeks you could weigh this if everyday was like today..."

Thanks for any advice and encouragement....

Trooworld. Sorry about the family health issue. Go write your feelings in a journal. Come tell us your feelings. You are trying to right the ship. Remember. Eating your feelings will put you in the negative numbers. It will keep you steered in the wrong direction

@Jimb376mfp welcome to the group. What great stats you have. I sound like Little Red Riding Hood. You have worked really hard to achieve those. Bravo. I think any plan works if you work the plan. People who are negative towards it probably didn’t work it consistently so they blame the plan and not themselves. Easier that way. I find religions and diet plans kind of the same. Some people think only “their” religion gets them to heaven. They scoff at everyone else. Same thing with diet plans. I say Do what works for you and is it sustainable. Have you thought about your maintenance plan? Some people have trouble with not chasing a number They arrived. Now what

Cbabie. You know me too well. How long is your detox plan?

@care971 Welcome to the group. I doubletracked awhile but got tired of it. My dr wanted me to track carbs because of prediabetes. I was doing a modified carb plan but recently have been exploring adding in more lentils and beans and doing less meat But that drives up my carbs but I feel it’s better for my body. I’ve been in a slight slump the last two months which doesn’t help. I’m a strong believer in visualization. Imagine your plateau weight as a big sign on the side of the road 197 mile marker. Can you see it? What color is it? Now imagine a big bulldozer running over that sign Flattening it. As you head on down the road another sign comes into view. 196 mile marker. I don’t actually use the in 5 weeks thing. What was more accurate for me was using the Nutrition numbers I click on nutrition then calories and up pops a graph. I switch from day view to week view and it will give me an average for the week on the far right. I lose weight if I keep that around 1521 calories. Problem lately is I either haven’t been tracking completely lately or going over.

Gemwolf. Did you have any healthy meals today?

I stayed on plan today. Now to repeat tomorrow

I have been on here before and did well. I also joined WW last September. It helped me get the first 19 pounds off; however I am not loving the Freestyle at all, so I will be using this sight and counting calories. Please add me as I definitely need motivation and accountability.
