    Good evening lovely ladies!

My lab results came back from my recent annual physical. For the most part all was good however my PTH (parathyroid hormone) level was high. I've been referred to an endocrinologist for further testing. I wonder if any of you have had this issue that you could share with me? Won't be seeing the doctor until January (first available appt). I've got my 5 year colonoscopy scheduled for December. Waiting to be contacted about getting my mamo taken care of too. The hub's results showed high cholesterol and triglycerides so he's in for some dietary changes. He's been down this path before so knows what has to be done.

The light therapy and upped meds may be working. I've been able to get moving a bit and get some basic household stuff taken care of this week. I've even had a hand to some of my crafty creations!

The weather here is just been beautiful. Cooler evenings and mornings and moderate day time temps. Wasn't sure what to expect from TX weather but this sure is nice.

Hi to all the newbies! A wonderful group of women here! They accompany me wherever I go and whatever I do as we travel through this journey! So very grateful!

    Nighty night,

    Cheri

HA! I have to always make a 2nd run at the mirror to make sure that I have filled in both eyebrows. Same thing in Louisiana; DDnL#2 drives across the state to have it done.

Lenora - hmmm not sure how to take that comment. Are you saying you think I need a facelift? But the answer is, the same thing would happen to me that would happen to you if you had a facelift. :)

As usual choir practice was wonderful. I think I would go into a huge depression if I lost the ability to sing. I know it happens that other people lose something that means so much to them. But singing in my church choir is just so uplifting. I will miss singing the Christmas music after the new year. Sorry, I guess that makes me a little into my own self importance.

I agree on needing the names of heathers other grand kids. I see how they all look so much alike especially Bea and her brother.

Carol & Re - Thanks ladies, am feeling better now. Still a little sore from all the "heaving" (that's the nicest way I can put it! Lol!), but I will get over it. I've gotten food poisoning twice now in the last 4 months, both times from food at Taco Bell (two different locations, about 4 miles apart, same thing ordered). I'm never ever doing another Taco Bell ever again! They say "Third time's a charm", well there's never gonna be a third time, not for this girl!

Went for a ride to the " countryside" out in Mulino with one of my "old" neighbors to get a truck load of firewood for her fireplace. I love the countryside, the rolling hills and the fresh air. The Christmas Tree farms out there have harvested this year's trees and have them bound up for transport and in big piles that were being loaded in "Semi" trailers headed to various parts of the state and beyond. It's that time of year again! The smell of the freshly cut pines was wonderful! This year as it gets closer to Christmas I will get some freshly cut boughs and lay them on the dash.

This year I am not doing Thanksgiving or Christmas as I am not with anybody, have no family left (I am an only child and foster parents are gone now...I don't acknowledge my real parents) and have no local friends save my "old" neighbors who will be with their own families. I actually look forward to the break from it all, honestly. I might get a Pumpkin Pie, but that's about it for me. For Christmas the plan is to hit my favorite dispensary for a "new" strain of medicine I haven't tried yet on the day before, and the pet store for toys and treats for Missy so she has something for Christmas. But that's as far as it goes for me. Simple and easy. The only thing I wanted this year was a tablet, and I got myself one of those for my birthday back in July. So I'm all set. I might go to Peacock Lane here in the city to walk and see all the houses with all the bright lights and decorations (the whole street, every house, decorates with tons of lights and decorations every year...it's been one of Portland's major attractions during the holiday season for as long as I can remember). And I might go see the Pittock Mansion (I think I spelled that right, I get it wrong every year lol!), they decorate it with tons of lights and it's always so beautiful. If I go I will be sure to take lots of pics I can share with you all. Maybe this year I won't gain any weight, that is, as long as I don't eat the whole Pumpkin Pie in one fell swoop! Lol!

Well, I should go eat something, haven't eaten all day. Think I will steam up some broccoli and cauliflower, it will be easy on my tummy and lots of fiber to bulk up the BM's after last night. Ugh. Then a movie I think. I will try to check back in before bed. Laters...

Rita: It sounds as though you've had a very productive day. WTG!!!

Peach: You are right. The storage area is under stairs inside my home. There was always storage there, but DH opened an area that had been walled off and made a new entrance to the main storage area from our downstairs hall. We will be ordering doors for that hallway opening. :flowerforyou:

Heather: I love the photo of your grandchildren.

Joyce: DH takes aubagio for his MS. This is taken orally once a day. So far, so good. He went to his MS Doctor today and is holding steady. His MRI from a test taken a few weeks ago shows no changes from a year & a half ago.

Becca: You are not the only woman in Oregon who converses with herself. I know another VERY well, as she lives inside my own skin.

Barbie: I read the same article in the AARP magazine. I couldn't talk DH into reading it, though. :grumble: I found it more straight forward than the book and appreciated it as an excellent stand alone. I recommend it to anyone..

Liz: Thanksgiving dinner is full of god nutrition. Measure your portions and go easy on potatoes, gravy & desserts.

DD called me with stress tales. DSIL was involved in a car accident today. Evidently he was hit by someone while waiting in line at a fast food take-out window. She isn't sure whether their car will be totaled. DSIL has more bad luck than anyone I know. I couldn't do anything but listen. That is a tough challenge for me. I like to fix things but I can't fix this. :ohwell:

    Hi Gals,
Heather – I love abstract also!

Katy in N.Mexico – the story about getting someone to believe that there is a new mexico, reminded me when I was working in corporate America, in Telecom the CEO of the company I worked for was a demanding so and so – who had to have a T-Mobile phone, which was not our contracted company for cell phones, then he went to Vermont on vacation, and his phone would not work as T-Mobile believed Vermont was a Canadian “Territory” I had to turn on and pay for International Calling to get him through his vacation… He changed to an AT&T phone when he came back, no questions asked.

Sherry – my feeling is log from here… history is just that, logging it will not change it, how ever if having a record is helpful for you – go for it…

Cheri – I loved the moon at night and then in the morning as it was setting

    Lisa – sending hugs!!!!

Glo – you and your grandsons are doing so much for those boys, you are amazing

Carol – hugs, tough times with Mom

Barbie – hugs for you, Jake and Brandy!

NYKaren – I have a vegan friend and would love the soup recipe if you are up for sharing

Piercings – I am a wimp! I have my ears pierced and cried for days! I can not imagine the pain of more piercings or tattoos….

Well, I’m tired and cold, headed to bed!
    Good night all

    November Goals:

Write Christmas letter, and have all cards ready to send by Dec1…
Read and report on a book
Log everyday to the best I can, over if need be.
    11,000 + steps everyday
    Work on water consumption -

    Smiles.

Kim - You are right, it is the past and there is no sense dwelling on it. The only people that might care that two days are missing is my primary care doc and my nutritionist, and they can get over it, so I just moved forward and picked back up with yesterday. Besides, I ate crappy those two days and don't really want "evidence" of it, lol! And I think I have been doing pretty darn good with my eating and exercise goals, so phoey on it! Two days won't make or break me! :p Now go to bed and get warm! Nighty night, sweet dreams sweetie!

Brrrrr....news says supposed to get to 37 tonight! Think I'll throw another blanket on the bed.

Barbie it's nice to know that someone else fainted while having their ears pierced by a doctor! So funny the stigma that used to be attached to girls who had their ears pierced as being 'loose' or 'bad' girls.

Heather did you check to see if your printer will be compatible with Windows 10? That wasn't disclosed when I upgraded to 10 and now I have a printer with $70 worth of new printer ink cartridges in it that I can not use. I love the picture of the grands and can't believe it's been 8 months since Bea was born!

Who was it that said recently they got up in the morning and their computer had converted to 10 without asking for it? I read yesterday that there have been lawsuits about that and a number of other things related to 10.

KJ so relieved for you - now we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Shimmy & Katy - my sister who passed away a couple of years ago was also a belly dancer. Although it was a hobby she danced with a troupe and then danced at a Greek restaurant near her home on the weekends. I think there may be a lot more angels in heaven now who know how to do a hip roll!

Lenora - I keep meaning to ask why is it taking so long to get the door made for your sunporch? Is he having to grow the tree first? Seems like it's been months.

I'm now going to move on to page 35 so be back later!

    Oh, before I forget.....

Found a very interesting and educational website today while surfing. It's called Mother Nature Network (mnn.com). It's got tons of articles, slide shows and videos on tons of different subjects (people, places and things planet and space related). It's very interesting and educational, well worth checking it out, if you like that kind of thing. 2 hours later I had to get up and walk away from my tablet, otherwise I would have been on that site the rest of the day! :p Thought I'd share it with you all.

Did an hour of Gilad's Step and Tone DVD today. I'd forgotten how challenging this DVD is. The plan for tomorrow is to do Jillian Michael's Killer Buns and Thighs DVD.

I have a dentist appt at 8:30, then I'm at the Green Room, then there is a talk at the library which I'd like to go to about downloading audiobooks, then I need to go to the cleaners, then depending on the time I may go to Bi-Lo.

Carol - it's so hard to see your parents going downhill. I remember the pain seeing my father going downhill. My heart breaks for you.

barbie - sending healing thoughts to you and Brandy

Went to ceramics tonight. I finished the tree stump that the pelicans will sit on and started on the big dolphin

My sinuses are starting to act up. That's expected, the weather is changing. I can guarantee it'll happen again in May. I took a decongestant, but I know from the past that I'll be up all night. Vince is making the hotel reservations for us to go to Jess' for Thanksgiving.

Lenora - we always cook our turkey breast side down. One year Vince took it out of the roaster and it looked like what you see in the cartoons. The turkey, literally, fell apart.

    Marilynena - welcome!

janetr - lovely pics. We have an Ingles about 30 or so minutes from me. Sometimes they have things that you can't find anywhere else. Like I needed the lychee fruit for the Halloween social and that was the only store that had them, and they only had one can. It IS a nice store.

Re - woohoo for NSV's. Jess lives in an apartment. Admitted, it's a 2 bedroom apt, but she doesn't have a whole lot of room.

Monday the light in the laundry room went out so Vince replaced the fixture yesterday. He put in LED lights and is it ever bright in there!

KJ - what great news! Doing a happy dance for you

About piercings: When I turned 40 I thought it would be so so cool to get a second piercing in my ears. To this day, I regret it.

Sherry - feel better fast. I'm so sorry you're sick

Joyce - I hope you had a good time at O'Charlies's. I never really like that place. For one thing, to me it's too loud, no sound absorption.

Right now I'm i my freezing cold mode. I'm sitting here in my heavy PJ's with my heavy bathrobe on and I'm still cold. Well, soon I'll be so hot it won't even be funny

sherry - how I wish you lived closer! We have a big Christmas Eve and I'd love to have company. There is a Polish saying "guest in the home is God in the home". Good for you being smoke free

Put new sheets on the bed. Vince wanted the blanket on too. Does anyone know why pillowcases are now being made with an extra 4"?

Kelly - Carpe Diem (Seize the Day) Love it!
Yeah! So glad that the news from the mammogram is good.

Katla -Thanks. I think working somewhere that the average age is is 20+ helps with talking to the teenagers.

Heather - Sounds like you are doing great at weeding out and paring down.
You are such a good friend to support your friend through chemo.
Your 3 grandbabies are such darlings.

Barbie - I bet the dogs are excited to walk with you again. So sorry to hear about Brandy. I hope the pain meds make her feel better.

Lenora - Were they Hare Krishna?

Re- No ink for me unless you count the microblading of my eyebrow. DH an I are the weirdos at the tattoo conventions that have no ink. Lol
Great NSV, wearing your "too small" top and congrats on being out of the plus sizes.

Sherry - I bet you are looking forward to that massage. I wish I could have them more often.
Sorry that you got ill. Feel better.
61 days cigarette free has got to feel so good.

Busy training at working and shaking my head.
Visited the weight loss nurse yesterday and discovered that I had lost 1.5 lbs. Not sure how as I know my eating has been crappy.
DD is taking my grandson to doctor tomorrow and demanding to see a specialist. He has been having gut problems for years and hasn't turned 14 yet. The last guess was overflow constipation. This stomach problem is affecting his schooling, his social life, etc. I am worried for him.
Our friend is getting his second knee replacement on Friday. He has been waiting months for this but is still apprehensive. DH is going out to the farm to help him to get some inside activities organized for the time he isn't supposed to walk on his leg.
This cold just won't let me out of its' clutches. I am so sick of nose blowing and coughing fits. My ribs are so sore.

Michele - Thanks for the Christmas Eve at your house thought! Sounds like it would be fun and exciting! Oh, I almost forgot... I Googled Black Bean Brownies and found tons of recipes! I picked out two...one regular and one sugar free...and am going to pick up all the stuff I need to make both batches the next time I go to Safeway, then I'm going to choose one from the two. I can't wait to try them, the pics look soooo yummy and they sound sooo good! I think I'll make one day next week an "all day bake-fest"! Lol!

Sharon my 8 yr old DGS was having stomach aches and reflux a lot last year and out of school due to the severity of the pain. The doctor said it probably had to due with stress (he is a very sensitive child) and that he was getting constipated which meant that bile from the stomach could not get into the colon thus causing the reflux. Anyway they put him on Metamucil and it solved the problem. Hope the doc gets to the bottom of your DGs's problem. Seem to be many kids with this problem anymore.
