Yeah, strange thread. OP asks if he is too skinny. Gets 200 "yes"es. Ignores that.
Unintentional weight loss is not quite the same as unexpected weight loss. OP is hardly eating, and on his feet all day, no surprise he is thin. I'm surprised he doesn't look sick, and seems to feel and function just fine, with those stats.
As often is the case, I can't tell what is true and fake in here, if this is just trolling or attention seeking, or eating disorder or some other illness.4 -
With regards to weight loss: TO, get a food scale and log everything you eat in grams for a couple of days. Take this along to the GP. If you are undereating then certainly psychological help would be in place. But if you are eating sufficiently then this will show the doctor that something is very wrong and needs further investigation. Be proactive, show proof that something is wrong.
I'm writing this because I've been there as well. I was losing weight like crazy (well, about 2.5kg per month) without trying. I did feel absolutely miserable though. After months of running to doctors I recorded all I ate to show that I was not trying to lose weight. One doctor finally did the right blood test and found out I had pernicious anaemia. The macrocytic red bloodcells you'd expect were offset by being low in iron as well, which can cause smaller red blood cells. Anyway, once on B12 shots for about two weeks the weight loss slowed down and then stopped.1 -
Some posters seem to be missing the update that OP has now been to a doctor and is having some preliminary investigations done.
OP hasn't ignored the replies and the doctor hasn't fobbed him off.6 -
Since malaborption was mentioned... OP, have you had any, um, digestive issues you've noticed when you lost the weight rapidly?
I know when I experienced a similar drop in weight I had frequent bathroom visits going on at the same time. My loss was due to celiac disease. The poster upthread mentioned EPI. That would cause a similar urgency.
If this is the case, please make sure your doctor is aware of this.1 -

Depending on where my scales are in my flat I can be 40 lbs lighter.0 -

Your full of s**t mate. A BMI of 15 is classed as severely underweight. Why is everyone still entertaining this clown?? He has some serious mental health issues. It seems to me he's just craving the attention..

It sounds like you are an Ectomorph. You eat well and you reach your calorie intake. It's simply hard for your body type to put on weight.
Go to a doctor and ask what the best way to gain weight is because you do need to gain. Staying underweight will cause harm to your body.0 -

His metabolism didn't suddenly jump to the point he would lose 30lbs in 2 months.9 -

I assure you those of us with mental health issues don't need entertainment.
No reason to say it like it's it's bad thing. It is a health issue just like physical health issues are. Take obesity for example. That's a health issue that's actually in our control (for most ppl) unlike mental health issues.
I have zero tolerance for that BS attitude.13 -

That is not true. People with high metabolisms dont randomly lose 30lbs in two months to the point where they are at such an emaciated BMI.7 -

That was my first impression as well, but now I am starting to think he is just an undereducated kid who doesn't know any better and who probably has something VERY serious medically going on. (if he doesn't have an ED)4 -

If it was me, I would use this app in order to gain weight. Try to eat five or six meals a day. try to include all 3 macros at every meal. Do not depend on eating lots of fried foods because the extra oils are empty calories with no nutrition. need more nutrition as well as calories. set the goals for gaining 1 pound per week. please see your doctor as soon as possible.1

He needs to gain a fair amount of fat and muscle mass. He needs to gain weight period.4 -

That would be far more typical for a doctor to say.
Also, as I was looking at BMI information, 20 year olds just fall into the category of children (I know I find it weird too) and they go by percentiles. Having said that, even with that he is is the bottom percentiles. That could lead to a doctor saying it is probably nothing, but I want to do some tests.3 -

The Dr looked at my bmi and said "15 that's fine" and then said he couldn't see anything wrong on the surface so hes gonna book me for a fasting blood test0 -

I presume you are going to have a follow up appointment? If so, I would clarify if the 15 BMI is acceptable. Literally ask: "what is a healthy range for me?" It's possible you misheard or that you missed something. In the meantime, you probably want to try and up your calories.

Sounds to me like the doctor is trying to be reassuring and also honest - he 'can't see anything wrong on the surface' I would take to mean he can't tell immediatly what the cause is - hence he is ordering some tests.
Sounds reasonable approach to me.3
