Just trying to figure out what's wrong with this picture. Someone has their house on the market and evidently there's a squabble about amount of property she owns. She's been paying taxes for years and years on 10 acres, according to the town she lives in. BUT her acreage has now been measured as 4.5 acres. The town did take some to make the road wider but not that much. She went to a lawyer and asked about getting restitution for all the years she was essentially paying taxes for someone else. Lawyer says nope, sorry, SOL.
Anybody ever hear of this before?? Absurd, if you ask me.

The Title to the land was clouded when she purchased it and the error keeps going unless a Title Attorney goes to the courthouse, pulls all the docs on that property and finds the mistake.
Once found he has to do his best to
“Clear Title” then all will be right.
A lot of times the chain of Title is so messy it’s impossible to untangle.

Thanks for this info; I'll pass it on and see if it helps her. She put her house on the market, thought she had an instant sale but then ended up with this issue. :( The realtor's ad states 10 acres, +/-.
She's been living there for probably 50 years, lost her dh within the past year and now needs to sell. :(

For the first time in months, I started the day listening to news. Apparently, today is the start of track and field events in the Olympics which started some time ago.

    (...turns on TV...)

Sorry, but the Olympics are null and void if they occur in an odd numbered year.

First time ever I have not watched one single second.

“It’s these odd-numbered years! She hates these odd-numbered years!”

My son and his family got home from their vacation last night.
I had to take my grand-kitten to his real home.
I’m going to miss that crazy little skin shredder.

I was totally complaining to the wife about having to wear a mask again at work and saw these two guys on the local news...

I guess the cure for an annoyance is often something even more annoying 🤷🏽‍♂️

    I’m craving chocolate milk.
Not the kind I grew up with,
(hershey syrup stirred in) but the store bought thick, rich, ultra chocolate-y kind my mom would never buy.
    I don’t even drink milk. 🤔

My windshield wiper broke off as I was on the freeway! Driver’s side of course. Metal screeching on my windshield until I made it to work. 😑 I wanted to stay home today and I should have.

There's a big motor sound from outside ATM. It has the same sound as the fire truck when it's come to the elderly neighbor's house in the past. I hate to go look. :( My neighborhood has changed so much since we moved here 38 yrs. ago. There are only 2 families left here, besides us. All the others have died off. :( I don't know any of them anymore.

You could speak up and defend said cute book lady and tell said douche what a douche nozzle he is.

Same thing you could do for anyone being treated wrong. That's what I'd do anyway.

Was meant in a rhetorical manner

70 pages into this “secrets of six figure women” and theres a quiz.... lists galore... this reads like every magazine and online article. 😐
I feel it’s a bit patronizing but I can’t tell if it’s just my broke *kitten* mentality. Idk if I like that the author is an heiress either. It’s not someone I can relate to.
Loved the first few chapters, a little inspirational.

For a second, I thought we had the same book. You may like this one?
This was published at the actual turn of the century 😭 No ebook available but you can still get it in print, apparently.

I’ll look into it. I only have the book that I have because it’s the gf’s birthday present that a older gentleman, who we used to work with, suggested it. According to his story he’s pretty wealthy and thought maybe the rest of us just needed to read a book. 🧐

like those articles where someone writes about how they paid off their entire debt in 6 months but mentions they lived in a house or apartment owned by their parents and didn't pay rent the entire time

Or the single mothers who got to bring their baby to college. My friend tried to do that in beauty school and was sent home. She dropped out. Somebody has to be watching that baby and it can’t be you at work or school but claims this, “Didn’t let a baby hold me back from my dreams and did it with no help!” 🙄
