Heather holiday nerves, I like that expression, I will remember to call it that and try some of your methods to work it out as I approach my February trip.
Dj sounds like you are nearing the end of this long project. Good luck
Happy to have my family back, going to kick back and relax with them today. then off to drive her halfway to college Sunday-she'll car pool the rest of the 5 hours upstate.

Lenora- LOL! What is that your giggling at?!? Is it my hubby's hand placement or the positioning of the champagne bottle? He was a naughty one, back in the day.1

Morning, all... made great progress on the t-shirt quilt yesterday, hope to actually finish the thing, if not today, at least this weekend. It's actually more of a t-shirt tapestry, it will be about 10 feet wide by 12 feet long when complete. If I can get it hung up here, I'll take a pic, if not, I'll take one once they hang it up at The Garage, the local coffee shop who are the clients. They've asked that I sign one of the squares... trying to figure out how to do that.
Thank y'all for all the compliments on the pics. Isn't it funny how our first instinct is to say, "but..." and give some self-deprecating response. I'm stomping all over that impulse...
Second cup of coffee is done, talk to y'all later,

Alison thinking of you!
Slow and steady progress on the knee. New sleep habits are helping. Going to a holiday tea today. I plan to take containers with me. I have been to this tea before and the food is excellent, so I plan to take some home with me so I do not overeat.
I know we agreed to not talk politics on this site which I think is wise. I just wanted to share we actually talked politics in the teacher lounge yesterday and it was so refreshing to be on the same page as others and to have such as interesting deep discussion. I talked to my friend in St. Paul and they have been directed they are not allowed to talk politics even on their Facebook page. A Social Studies teacher was fired because he lead a political discussion before the election in his class and one of his students complained. I just think this is plain sad. Here I thought we lived in a country where we have freedom of speech.
What gives me hope is as I said yesterday is I watched the video My Friend Martin with some fifth graders. I wish they would show this on a major network on MLK day like the show the Grinch that Stole Christmas at Christmas Time. The universal message of love over hatred is so powerful in this video, and it does explain some of the roots of why things are the way they are today.
Yesterday I watched a video with some first grade boys about Honesty. In the story the puppy was stealing bones from his older and bigger friend Snuggles. Snuggles was upset and didn't want to play with his friend anymore. Then the puppy had his blanket stolen by the bully dog Buster. Snuggles intervened in behalf of his little friend. The little puppy learned the errors of his ways and confessed to his friend what he did and apologized. The friendship was saved because he was honest. It was fun to have a discussion about this video with a group of seven year old boys. Again it gives me hope.

Hey everyone, on the topic of bras, I am a size 48G. I had the enell bra but found the Cacique found at Lane Bryant better. I can do jumping jacks without taking anyone's eyes out. I had a small success yesterday. Went to a belated Christmas party and still stayed on target. Eating out is always a challenge.
Grandmallie: hope you feel better
Heather: have a great holiday
Sharon: Alberta ya! I am originally from Saskatchewan
Sherry: loved your minions and congrats on the mile
Msfanglet: Great job hitting 10,000 steps. I have the under the desk bike and I love it.
Gloria: Wow what an accomplishment you have made2 -
Sharon, I enjoyed reading "Year of No Sugar". I haven't followed her plan exactly, but the book gave me encouragement to draw boundaries in my eating and stick to them no matter what. There are foods I don't eat even if they look tempting and politely decline them when offered to me. I wish you great success.
Allie, keep putting one foot in front of the other. You will get through this scary tunnel and be glad that you kept on keeping on.
Heather, I am almost always anxious before embarking on a trip or an event that I know that I'll like. Making lists to help in preparation is a comforting strategy.
Today is our anniversary. It has been 28 wonderful years with a few bumps along the way . We tried to figure out what to do to celebrate. We don't like spending money unnecessarily. I don't like going to restaurants and we've been to four of them in the last eight days. There are no movies playing that we want to see. We finally decided to buy the Blue Ray video of a movie that we want to see and make that our celebration. Also we'll fix a meal at home that we both like.

Gloria … congrats on the smaller pants … doing the happy dance!
Msfanglet … and how do your legs feel today after hitting a high step count??? Congratulations!
Allie … thinking of you ….
Barbie … Happy Anniversary!
Well, finally finished my week long binge of carbs and everything bad for me! Got on the scale and faced the music so that I can hit the reset button and move forward. The scale god was merciful and actually let me stay the same weight wise. Husband also joined me this morning!! Asked me how many calories were in the "teaspoon" of sugar he uses ... oh ho ... that teaspoon is more like a tablespoon and he uses three of them!! At least he's asking and willing to listen.
Slow day planned. Some cleaning. Some decluttering. Picking up older son for the weekend as well. One estate sale on the schedule we'll go neb around. Have a good one ladies!

Mustering motivation to do some work this morning on an old house we are trying to get on the market. Not looking forward to doing it today, would rather be lazy all day, but once we get over there it will be okay. Planning a movie later today as a reward. I am feeling lazy because of a couple of late nights at work and not enough sleep.
Congrats to everyone on all the NSVs!

Morning again~
Had the talk with Tom.. no screaming, no yelling..this is his solution.. and give me some feedback...
when all is said and done he wants me to have this house.. he wants to live here for another couple of years..he will pay of this house and it would be mine free and clear.. he has about 100,00 in 401k and about 2-4000 in investments he would have to use some of the 401k to pay this off, and told him I want my car paid off. and he agreed..so no investments,no 1/2 of 401k , but the house will be mine free and clear...0 -
Allie, before you agree, check out how much the house is worth. You can get a ballpark figure from Zillow. My dughter's X did pretty much the same thing. He kept one house and paid the down payment on another house for her to settle. She is happy with the solution and dating someone else. However, her X shows up at will. I suspect he feels he still owns a part of the house. His staying there would be the reason I would say don't do it. She is afraid of what might happen if BF is there when XDH shows up. Also, what about the FL house and property?

Allie - why are you still letting Tom be in charge? Get a good lawyer and get all financial issues checked out. You have 2 houses and you also deserve half of the 401k ! Why would you cook for another woman's man let alone live with him? Sorry to be blunt but... you are too good for him!

DH has been very sad and quiet all day and quite tearful. One of his heroes, Graham Taylor, died yesterday of a heart attack. Nearly the same age as him. He was an England football manager for a while, but, more importantly, managed DH's team Watford, Elton John's team, and brought them up from nothing to the Premiership. Today there was a commemoration at the Watford ground. Elton John sent his love. DH was deeply moved by it all. Everyone says Graham Taylor was a very nice man, which is rare in football.

I would have tape recorded the conversation or write it down and have him sign it. then take it to a atty to review. I would also have him list all the financial asssets so when u take it to the atty he will tell you if you're getting screwed or not if it's your best interest based whats in the marriage as far as combined $$ goes then take it. but I wouldn't do just a verbal, no matter what. write it down and you guys sign it, no matter what3 -
Happy Anniversary Barbie and Jake. Enjoy the blu-ray.
Joyce: So very sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I'm watching dementia progress in my DH. Yesterday at Social Security office, he was easily confused and disoriented. Today is my birthday, and he has yet to realize it. I want my smart and fearless guy back, but I'm afraid those days are behind us. Monday will be our 29th anniversary.
No plans or obligations today. Have worked my gratitude list and really feel good. I wake up with no pain. I work at a job I love and make more than enough for us to be comfortable. I have a nice home, my family, friends and faith. Life is good.
My Reiki trainer sent me a card an reminder of the Reiki Principles. I really need to inhale these right now:
* Today I choose to be Free of Worry
* Today I choose to be Free of Anger or Impatience
* Today I choose to live with Gratitude and Love
* Today I choose to be Kind and Compassionate toward all, including myself
* Today I choose to Live and Work in Integrity and be of Service
Stay well friends. We can do this.5 -

Allie, that's a great first step with Tom, but don't let his seeming agreeableness blind you to the possibility that he is short changing you.
Rori, sorry to hear about what's going on with your DH...I love the principled way you live your life.
Thank you for the anniversary wishes...we'll start the day with an "errand date" going to Office Depot, post office, grocery store, drug store.

Happy Anniversary to both Barbie and Rori~
Believe me it is alot to take in and I will speak with the attorney I spoke with and maybe have a small retainer held with him and see if we can work with the retired judge on mediation... if he is willing to work with me and we can do this neatly and fairly.. I would much rather do it that way then a knock down drag out..

My very best wishes to Barbie and Jake and to Rori for her birthday. Thanks for those nice reminders, Rori.
Allie - Be very, very careful. Very careful. Check everything out double time with the attorney. Do not have him live with you. Bad idea. :flowerforyou:

Did an hour of an Ultimate Weight Training and Cardio workout. Not too impressed, it's just OK. The plan for tomorrow is to ride the recumbant bike
Gloria - wonderful NSV. I'm built the same way, big in the hips, small in the waist.
Sherry - love the minion cartoons
Sharon - I'm so sorry that your sister lost her cat. Could that be possibly why she didn't want to come to the party? In a very short time pets can really get to our hearts. A month is certainly enough time for him/her to have gotten into her heart.
Alison - so sorry you are in pain. Best of luck talking to Tom
goto ...lol taking eyes out...lol
barbie - happy anniversary. Sounds like your anniversary is about as exciting as ours is!
Carol - yesterday was 70, today it's 50. But tomorrow promises to be 60. Go figure
Allie - I agree with pip, have EVERYTHING written down, signed.
Rori - happy birthday! How very sad about your husband. Happy Anniversary, too

Hello all: Beautiful morning here even if it is cold. Horses are standing in the pasture soaking up the sun. We were going to get a new phone setup today but the phones did not come in so we must wait until Tuesday. Ate a small breakfast so I can enjoy brunch with family including DS and DGD. Will plan for the rest of the day later when I see how that goes. Will try to get in some exercise at home.
Barbie - Happy anniversary to you and Jake.
Rori - Happy birthday to you.
Gloria - Great NSV!
Allie - Remember he is a manipulator.
