I do rememeber when we got out first color television and of course we kept the one black and white tv. It went into my brothers room cause he was older and we had to watch tv together, cause we hated what mom and dad watched..

We fought like cats and dogs over the 3 channels we had to watch.. so stupid now..

Haha 3 channels! I remember that! My mom still has one of our old console tv's in her family room!

I remember the Lawrence Welk show, HeHaw and the Carol Burnett shows very well.. Don't forget Mash.

and Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Threes Company!

I loved loved these shows! Gilligans Island and Brady Bunch was on every afternoon I got home from school.. If mom was working I got to watch until she kicked me out of the house till dinner... lol

Yes! lol Did you watch Night Rider? lol

OMG, yes.. That was coolest freakin show at that time!!

    I know! It was awesome!

McGyver came out in 1985, I was a junior in high school.. it was cool too.. I was not spending too much time a home then, I was out being and doing crazy things I should prolly never talk about.. lol

I remember buying a CD and feeling disappointed cause they didn't have the lyrics in the leaflet.. So I had to play the bloody song again and again to learn them

I remember blown up furniture that I convinced myself I needed and that it was super comfy though they weren't

I remember butterfly clips I used to wear in my hair.. The black tark pants every girl in Iceland had to own and finally, the Disel jeans we matched with our super cool Buffalo shoes.

I remember making freestyle dances to almost all of the songs The Spice Girls released and putting on a show in my school.

I remember writing silly notes to my friends in class and passing them on.. And all the games we made up cause we were bored..

Oh I need to ring some of my old friends right now and get drunk with them.. Now I'm feeling Nostalgic lol

Do you mean cassette tape??? I remember sticking the pencil in the cassette wheels to wind the tape back on trying not to crinckle it... because the tape player chewed it up...lol

Same..I never came home till dark.. We still only had 1 tv..lol

Same here, my first personal tv was black and white.
And hell you didnt adjust the colour on the family tv.... you could never get the colour back the same again!

Had to be home when the street lights came on, but I had a TV in my room only because my dad got one from a Holiday Inn that was selling all their old black & white TV's for new color ones. lol

That fancy 3 button remote we had to our color tv never turned the tv off right.. you had to press the button on the tv and then the remote, or some crazy sequence I could never remember. I used to get in trouble for messing with the buttons on the tv and remote, cause I wasn't supposed to be watching it without them present..

We took typing class on actual type writers!

Yep. I took two years of typing with the electric ball typewriters because it was seen as an easy class. So glad that I took those classes now.

My dads first mobile phone cost like $5000 dollars and you had to carry it around..... it was the size of a shoe box. Imagine how much radiation the thing produced!

The TV stations going off the air and playing the National Anthem. I was watching the original Poltergeist a few weeks back with my 11yo, and he asked why the TV did that...told him we called that the ant races (the snow)

You had a remote.......ohhhhlala... we had a push pull not which doubled as the tvs volume. To change a channel you had to go up to the tv and press the channel button. Think of the exercise.... LOL.

How about making your own mix tapes. And waiting till the exact second your song was on the radio to hit record. Sometimes I'd be waiting upwards an hour for one song.

    Or Nano's and Tomagotchi's

Those drinks with the balls in them. I think they were called Orbits.

Zip lines and tire swings. Now they went and messed up all the parks.

Gelled pony tales with those two gelled strands on each side of the face.

    And the worst...thick white eyeliner.

This .... and you didn't want to press record to early, otherwise you got the anouncers talking.

How about finding a song that you liked on your tape and having to fastforward or rewind until you found it, then alittle more or whatever to you got to the start.

Three TV channels? What about books? Does anybody remember actually reading? I spent a large portion of my time reading books, magazines, comics, and anything else with words on a page.

How about when you wanted portable music.... taking your boom box outside. But don't forget to fill it up with like 6 DD batteries, now you got a couple of hours of listening!

I grew up in the country side. I was never indoors much and was encouraged to go outside and "play".

As such, many of my memories are of me riding my bike, going on "safari", having adventures with my cat, digging in the ground for treasure, playing "jungle" in the woods, etc.
