60 Minutes per Month Plank Challenge - March 2017

WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE? heh
Background (complete dork, I know): I have a party on April 29. It's a get together of a group on Facebook. The hostess (a good friend) has decided that we are going to have a plank challenge. She is a complete smack talker, so I *must* beat her. It is a bent elbow plank, whoever drops last, wins. So, I've been conditioning.
I plank a minimum of 5 days a week. Every day, I start with the longest I can hold it. I'm up to 5 minutes 15 seconds. So for March, that alone will give me a minimum time of 115 minutes.
Do I shoot for the stars and go for 200 minutes? That would be either an additional 8.5 minutes a day of other planks, or adding a 6th or 7th day some weeks. Is that feasible? All I know is I want to be well over 10 minutes by April 29!

My max so far has been 8 minutes. I can eeek out a few more seconds, but I generally accomplish it mixing my planks. I think part of my problem is I do them mid-way through a cross training workout and my arms and abs are already pretty tired when I start them. I start with forearm, go to straight arm, then switch from side to side until finished (30 seconds each side at a time). I'll sometimes mix in other positions but the 8 minutes is continuous. I don't think I could do 8 minutes of a single plank position without changing positions, so if you can do 5 you're already ahead of me for sure. Welcome to the challenge!2 -

Tweaked my back yesterday before getting my planks done. Ended up doing some modified ones today to just get some minutes logged. Hate doing modified ones...just doesn't feel like they really count for me at this point after having done regular ones for so long, so they get logged with an asterisks.

That was me with the Killer Core Workout...I thought I could knock out three sets easy peasy...yea, I made it through one set and collapsed. My goal is to eventually add that one to my regular workout (with at least three sets done). Not happening any time soon, but satisfying goals are ones that take a while to accomplish.

Since starting a few weeks ago (only planks) I have lost 15 lbs and now fit into clothes that are 4 years too small!!!3
