Beautiful house and wonderful skill you are teaching them plus the memories you are making with them. Win win.

Barbie, the nurse in me wants to know how they can make a cell phone work in the pacemaker check. Both my parents had a pacemaker. Mom knew that Dad did his phone checks by himself but she said you have to be in them medical field to do the check when she had hers after Dad died. I think it was her way of baking sure I was over there. I still have that huge magnet from the phone check on my refrigerator. If you put something under that magnet you know it can't fall off,

We had a sister day today. We gave a locally owned ice cream shop. They make their own. So we had a turtle sundae and a good talk. Both my sister and Mom were preschool teachers and there was a 3 year old little girl there with her little brother so she always has a good time when she sees kids.

I don't wear shorts either. I used to have the attitude that the only difference in my fat kegs wearing jeans and another fat lady wearing shirts was that she was comfortable and I was hot. So I wore them. But my thunder thighs are just to big to wear them. Even when I was in a size 12 my thighs were still huge.

Okay, who is holding the boot to give me a kick?! I have just been a crazy person with "treats" before bed since July started. Break out the butt-kickers!
Hitting the hay early tonight; up early in the morning to walk at first light (5:30) and get my breakfast down before kids arrive. My lunch hours the next couple of days will be meal planning and making out shopping lists. Not just for the kids but for me. I have been slacking and I need to give myself a good shaking!
Tere- What an absolutely beautiful photo! You are just glowing and alive in that photo!
Karen VA- So sorry to hear about FArley :( Hope he and your family has peace in his last days/hours with you! Olivia is just gorgeous! Those eyes! Such a doll baby!
Becca- The midlife poem was spot on! Loved it! I also love the "Take what you need" poster and your son as a middle schooler was adorable! You have posted more recent pics of him, but it is fun to see the "baby" face and remember he is grown!
Machka- I think you were the one who mentioned hot flashes! I swear, lately, I feel I have been on again off again with clothes. I go from insanely hot and sweaty to "geez-what-did-I-do-with-my-jacket"?
Ginger- If anyone could make shorts and cowboy boots a good fashion choice, it would be your darling son! LOL! Cute pic!
Cheri- HEllo! I was just wondering how you have been doing! So glad to hear things are going well for you and the family! Stay cool in Sweltering Texas!
Shorts- My legs are bigger than they used to be; but fortunately they are not jiggly, unfortunately I have very veiny legs from working on my feet for so many years. I am sure the extra weight I am carrying is not helping the veins either. I will wear shorts when I am home and hanging with the kids, but I tend to put on pants or a long skirt/dress if I am going some where. Yoga capris are like my second skin most days.
Well, I am going beddy bye. Going to fall asleep planning for success and good choices tomorrow. Thinking of you all. Allie feel better! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Love the picture of Olivia. What a doll. So fun to see new baby pictures as my youngest DGD is 10 now.
I had a huge floater in one eye and my retina specialist took it out when I had cataract surgery.
Love the cowboy in shorts and also the boot sandals.
Every day I think this is the day I will get back on track but it seems like it keeps me from coughing if I have something to eat. Maybe that is just an excuse. Now I'm wondering if I should see Dr. I got sick a week ago but am feeling better.
    Have a great evening ladies.

:)Joyce, Jake got his first implanted defibrillator/pacemaker in 2006. The remote monitoring then required that he place a device over his chest that was connected to the device to transmit. That device was connected just like a land line phone. About six years later he got a fancier more modern implanted device and the remote monitoring through the phone lines transmitted often without any help from Jake. Recently Boston Scientific updated their remote monitoring device to allow monitoring via cell phone. We haven't seen it or installed it but he met with the medical professional who monitors and adjusts his device in the office once or twice a year. It is amazing.

    Yeah, that was me.

For a year or so, I was only going through them in the week before my periods started, but in the last 6 weeks or so, it's been just about every day.

Unfortunately they are also combined with a bit of nausea, which I'm sure is hormone-related, similar to morning sickness. However, I just discovered that there is a morning sickness relief pill which consists of ginger and Vit B6. I have been using ginger, and it seems to help a bit, but I might also look into Vit B6.

Evening Primrose Oil also seems to help a little bit.

And fortunately, everyone at work was issued small desktop fans which are USB powered, so mine is on and off and on and off all day long.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Evening my dear Friends,

KarenVA, thanks for the Olivia fix. She is just beautiful and I love those eyes. Good luck with your eyes. (((Hugs)))

Joyce, I love the story about the two kids that met later at church camp.

Pitegny, congrats on the weight….or I should say, lack of it. Keep it up!!

Ginger, the Texas sandals are great. LOL

Allie, I sure hope you are feeling better! Feel free to share a few germs with “you know who”. Lol >:)

    Chris, sending prayers your way.

Cheri, so glad to hear you have found your happy place!!! Now stay there. :#

Marcelyn, your DGD did a great job and what a cutie she is.

I went to the beach this afternoon with a good friend that I haven’t seen in a while. She’s been in and out of town and going again soon as her daughter may have to have surgery. She has already had her large intestines removed and is again having blockage. I’m praying she will be okay. Missed my nap by going to the beach but it was worth it. The temp was around 90 but high humidity so heat index was right at 100. When we got to the beach it was fabulous with the sea breeze. The water is up to 82 so soon it won’t be refreshing.

Or getting back to the way you used to be. :)

This is one of the reasons I like the randonneuring/audax type of cycling. It doesn't matter if you're first, last, or anywhere in between ... all you have to do is finish within the time limit. :)

DJ – The heat index yesterday was 108° yesterday. Jenn is driving the loaner car as when they went to the beach over the 4th, the guy who was checking out her SUV told her to ‘park it’. He was surprised that she had not had a blowout! Big lump on tire and two of them down to the thread. Loaning her my car tomorrow because she has several appointments and the girls are going because 2 of them are for them. I haven’t been able to go outside because it is like when you open the door to your oven while wearing glasses … gets that hot. At least you have the sea breeze (even ‘if’ it is hot).

When y’all are praying for others; please keep my oldest dear granddaughter, Taylor, in your prayers. She just made her ‘own’ MD appointment (7/31) and so many things are going on in her body in the way of symptoms (which, of course, she has looked all of them up and decided that something is ‘terribly’ wrong with her and that is one of the reasons that no matter how hard she tries, can’t lose any weight. I think a lot of it is that she has just come to the cold, hard, realization that come December, she will graduate from college and has no earthly idea what she’ll be doing or where they’ll be or if her boyfriend gets into PT school. She’s late on her period and the first thing her step-mom asked was ‘if she was pregnant’. She says, ‘no way possible’. I’ve given her all the medical history that I am aware of on my side of the family and what I can remember about Louis’. Jenn messaged Taylor’s biological mother to ask if she can provide any information. She also gave her, Taylor’s phone number and email address. I did not think that was helpful at all. Taylor hasn’t spoken to her mother in several years and doesn’t want to. It’s not going to be ‘pretty’ if Taylor finds out that her mother now has her phone number. For the past 7+ years, Jenn has done everything a mother would do for their child. Taylor loves her as if she is her mother. I think ‘stress’ is a large part of what she is going through. I try to tell her that all she can do is ‘be prepared’ and have as much information as possible and to write down all her questions.

Got the sweetest email with pictures attached of DYS, DDnL#2, and DOYGD (I think that is right). Nothing in the actual message; but, opened up the attachment and it was a collage of several pictures of all of them. Then there was another .txt message, so I opened it up. About made me 'cry' ... "I love him because ... to go with each picture. He's lost weight! I think I upset him not long ago when I kidded him about the 'marriage weight beginning to show'. I guess he was going to 'show me'. I'm very proud of him.

Welcome to all the 'newbies' and all that. I'm going to bed now! Earliest I have been in bed in months! Hope I can fall asleep with no problems.

    Night all!
