@garygse That would work, but I think I'll just wait on the plumber. I just have to figure out what to eat for dinner that can be cooked using only the microwave or toaster oven.

Starting the month out with a lower mileage week as I've ramped up pretty hard the last week. Went for foot PT (scraping etc) today but it was generally feeling pretty good. Did my hip strengthening PT exercises too.

    Day/Distance/Comments

11/1 Walked outside for 45 min + did my PT

    Goal: 90 mi
    Total: 0 mi
    To go: 90 mi

Well, I'm in. I'm doing C25K. My goal is to finish the program this month. So, I'm going to start low and say 35 miles with hopes surpassing that marker.

welcome. You got this. C25K is a great program! You'll finish it and go on to even bigger things!

Blargh supposed to have a wind chill of -15C/5F tomorrow morning and snowing. Time to test out the efficacy of the cold weather gear I've bought so far.

    :heartbreak: NYC.
My daughter runs to work on that trail. Lives in Queens and works down by Wall Street. So many times she does her long run to work and showers at work. She usually runs on the inner trail and that was on the outer trail. She texted me to say "I'm okay" and I didn't know what she meant at first. I'm headed to NYC on Friday night to watch her run marathon and will be running every day myself. Ahhh... what a crazy world. But I'm not stopping my travel/runs/cycling because of these crazy people. Going to London in April for my spring break!

@ddmom0811 So glad your daughter is okay. I didn’t hear about it until I saw the NYC Marathon post something on their page. I’ve had a few people ask me if I’m still going and I’m like “*kitten* yeah!” I’m not letting it derail my plans, plus I know now the security will be even more beefed up than it was before.

    November Running Totals (miles)
    11/1 – 5.14 group run

November running total to date – 5.14

    Nominal challenge goal: 200 miles

Real goals: Stay healthy. Build base. Prepare for Club Nationals in early December and the start of Boston training in late December.

Today's notes – It was visually cold today. No, it wasn't all that bad in reality; it just *looked* cold. Got out, and it was okay. Then it started to shower in the afternoon. So I geared up to run in a light rain, and headed over to the group run. It was just getting dark when we started out. After we convert to Daylight Wasting Time this weekend, next week it will be full dark before the group run starts.

I typically run 6 to 7 miles with the faster group. That group didn't exist today, so I settled for 5-ish with the only group. It got spread out, with different leaders for the front, rear, and middle; I ran with (and sometimes ahead of) the front leader. Late in the run, I knew my way back and 3 other runners counted on me to make the turns from mile 4 on.

It turned out to be a beautiful night for running. The temperature was in the low 40s F (~5-7 C), the rain stopped before we started, and the wet plus visual cold kept the walking pedestrians inside so we didn't have to dodge anyone. I ended up letting the 3 other runners go ahead in the last half mile, and held to a comfortable easy pace for me. Not as far as planned, but a nice rest after working fairly hard yesterday.

@sarahthes Tonight's Run Club turned into a Swimming Club for that very reason, what we are getting right now will be in YEG before morning, -15C ( 5F ) and 32kmh wind ( ~ 20mph). So the wind chill factor was nasty. One of the disadvantages of this Deep River Valley is that it will Funnel and intensify the wind when it is out of the North ( NNW to NNE ). Of course it is early season winter and we are not acclimatized yet, in late December/January this would be a beautiful day. At least your River Valley is E/W so it helps break/hide you from the Nth wind.
