11/19 - 155lb. A little more than I weighed last week. No surprise, though, as I ate more than I should have yesterday. It's so cold in my house that it's far too tempting to get another bowl of ramen noodles or porridge, or a hot chocolate. My plan to combat this... tea! I also plan to stay up all night tonight to get some university work done (and fix my sleeping pattern) so tomorrow's weigh-in won't be accurate as it'll be too close to when I last ate.

My goal is to reach 10% body fat by year end... actually by 12/30 because that is when my Dexa is scheduled. I'm going to list weight and BF% based on my scale, which is going to fluctuate at times as diet changes. On some days - and I know when those are based on diet - it will be inaccurate.

From round 22:

Day - Weight - BF% - Comment
11/9 - 149.6 lbs. - 16.8% - scale is reading higher than actual BF%

11/10 - 148.4 lbs. - 15.9% - scale is still higher than actual BF%, but getting closer to actual

11/11 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.9% - scale is higher than actual BF%, this time not expected

11/12 - 148.6 - 16.8% - scale is still showing higher than actual BF%, still not entirely expected. I have a theory as to what is driving the incorrectly high BF%.

11/13 - 148.6 lbs. - 18.5% - Yesterday was a re-feed / glycogen replenishment day. I'm surprised weight did not also increase, but expected BF% to be unreliable. I expect it to remain that way for the next 2-3 days.

11/14 - 147.2 lbs. - 16.4% - Depending on whether I eat a lot of fibrous green vegetables today, BF% will either stay pretty stable by tomorrow morning or will decrease. I may find it hard to feel full without lettuce or green beans... but since scale BF% is just artificially high if I eat them and real BF% is not truly much different, I'm probably going to eat greens if I'm hungry anyway.

11/15 - 146.4 - 15.6% - No veg yesterday, scale is closer to a correct BF%.

11/16 - 146.2 lbs. - 14.9% - No veg yesterday again, and BF% is almost right where I would expect Dexa to come up. The idea that eating low carb green / fibrous veggies would affect the scale BF% so much is a relatively new revelation. Thinking back, the last Dexa was 0.3% lower than the scale on that same day (that is extremely close); and my scale is ALWAYS higher than any other measurement method or device - including other bio-electric impedance devices, which are always super low. When that last Dexa was taken and it was almost the same as the scale, I had not eaten plants for 45 days prior (except coffee, tea, and small quantities of seasonings and sauces). I still plan to eat some low carb (net carb) fibrous veggies while I continue to strive for 10% BF by 12/30, but will do take breaks occasionally to get a better idea of where Dexa will come in.

11/17 - 147.8 lbs. - 13.9% - Slight weight increase, not sure why... probably water weight. Another day without veg and BF% is spot on as close as I'm going to get to being real. Tomorrow is going to be high again based on today's planned diet.

11/18- 146.0 lbs. - 15.4% - Did not expect weight to decrease, but expected reported BF% to rise.

Planning ahead for a small splurge but mostly healthy on TG. We've taken to having sweet potatoes without the sugar & butter (and I love them neat anyway), and I limit the stuffing and make my own cranberry sauce with chopped apple in place of sugar (I'm the only one who eats it, and I like it this way). So the big splurge is pie, and I minimize how much we have. Luckily by hubby isn't a big sweet eater. (To get my pumpkin fix this time of year, I get pumpkin butter and mix a Tbsp into cottage cheese or plain yogurt - yummy!) Everything else in our main dinner is healthy. The past three years I've run a 5K on TG morning, but we're in a different place and I didn't enter a race, so, unless it's pouring rain, I'll do my own private turkey trot. :-) I plan to enjoy TG without overdosing.

11/19= 223.8 lbs- Well, too bad this wasn't yesterday. I could have had a loss for the last round. Pretty happy to see this drop though! Now...to keep this number through Thanksgiving...that's my goal. Losing would be great, but I'll be happy to stay right here for the next 10 days as long as I don't gain.

@kpondskponds I’m with you. I eat oatmeal about once a year and bananas less than once a month. You might need to find a food plan that you can live with more easily. Just sayin’

11/19 155.2 Dieted successfully, yesterday. I planned the day & stuck with it. Included yummy slice of birthday cake! I knew I had an Anniversary party to go to, last night, so planned for the cake & asked the menu in advance & planned accordingly. Hope that I stick with my plans more this challenge. This holiday week is going to be so difficult! Hard to plan when traveling & out of town.

10/20/17 / Started Round 20: Oooh, I like this thread! I've been weighing myself daily since April, keeping track in MFP Food Notes, and logging my "official" weigh-ins on Saturdays. I've been amazed at how much my weight can fluctuate from day to day, depending on eating out or processed foods, adult beverages, net calories green or red, etc. Daily weigh-ins really help me see cause and effect with high sodium, too much sugar, etc. I don't get freaked now by a jump on the scale, since I know what I did to cause it, and what I can do to change it.

11/19: 119.8- This is a jump up of a lb from yesterday, but I'm really feeling my strength workout from yesterday so I think that is contributing a bit to the increase.

@Elbee1 Thank you! Now to hit those 40s! It is hard when you are traveling and not doing the cooking. Limit your portions of the stuff you know is loaded with calories- green bean casserole, super sweetened sweet potatoes, etc. You’ve got this! YOU are in control!!

@lajeanneh I get the same way. Feel crummy, want comfort food - for me that would be cream of tomato soup and grilled cheese. Thank God I haven’t been sick lately! Give in to it but get back on the wagon when you feel better. You will feel even better once you are back to eating healthier!

@jennyhart200 Be sure to increase your water when you workout.

For what it's worth, @kpondskponds, I've found in my -70 lb journey that a breakfast high in protein, moderate in good fats, and lower in carbs (though not carb free) satisfies and sticks MUCH better than a high-carb breakfast (like oatmeal and banana!). I use liquid egg whites in many ways to add protein -- microwaved with tomatoes and bell peppers and an ounce of cheese; in an overnight oat or muesli mix I've created (you don't even notice the eggs); microwaved on whole grain bread or muffin with avocado/guacamole or hummus. Happy to share the overnight oats/muesli recipe if anyone wants it -- I make a week's worth at a time. It's very discouraging to be overly hungry while trying to lose!

11/19 I overdid it yesterday and the expected hobbling pain came and I still hustled around moving boxes and furniture. I bought a candy apple based on the memory of enjoying them, but honestly, I only really enjoyed the green apple part. So I have added a new goal to this round: honour my authentic self. I am the girl who likes the green apple & I don’t need to eat/do/act in ways that do not align with who I am.
