Oh, my eldest son and I had a long chat! I have to realize that each of my sons are so unique, and not expect the same from one as the other. Its not far to them or me for that matter. Owain is independent, busy and I am only thinking of myself. Galen has always been needing us, in the sense that when he gets leave over the holidays its been him coming home. I have given him options that he doesn't have to report home, he can go anywhere. But he likes relaxing and he likes the home cooked meals!
I texted my eldest afterward as well today. Said hi to my daughter in-law, as I saw her online. We chatted briefly, but its still like pulling teeth to get her to talk to me. Then my middle son got on and that was the end of her texting!
Today I fixed biscuits & gravy for Sunday breakfast, then a roast with all the trimmings, (well potatoes and carrots and gravy) for dinner. It turned out really well! I'm spoiling my husband. Can you love your husband via his belly? Why, yes you can!!!
Love all you ladies! Doing amazing each and every one of you!

Dear ones,
Karen in VA said it: "so much generosity in sharing strategies & ideas about how to deal with the challenges of life" so well said. I'm so grateful to all you dear ladies for sharing your wisdom, coping strategies, inspiration, compassion and especially your humor. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
Barbie, both Heather and Rye have said something like they could not have imagined themselves being/doing X that now they do. What about you? What triggered your commitment to seeking out every opportunity for activity? I'm asking as I'm realizing that I want some of those good benefits, especially Heather's improved breathing, and need to step up my game to get them.
pip re: indebtedness WAY better than most. Well done! Hope the falls didn't discourage your newbie.
Karen in VA Interesting recipe, amen on the compatibility, so key for the long run. Grandma Pottymouth LOL!
Becca your dialogue with Rebecca's body had me bellylaughing. Thanks for the bonus burn
Wendy great news about DH chat. Ditto pip's comments about your gorgeous gams. Jealous you can squat down so far and still SMILE!
Heather happy tears for you and your OS. Going from breathless at 200 yards to running 5 K in 50 minutes? WOW! That IS magic!
Lisa prayers for Kelsey's safe deployment and return. Tough days indeed. So glad you can find humor, tho' with pip, it's easy
Janetr Mia looks a very serious little angel
Machka really enjoyed hearing about your ride, had to google quolls and pademelon
Kylia Love the cha-cha quote. Ditto what Carol said, couldn't believe those were your grands
Rye thank you so much for sharing your inspiring story.
Suebdew when in doubt a nap will do!
Lanette, Art Bell, now that brings back memories. Found his voice and bumper music choices very soothing, but towards the end there were too many creepy/scary nights instead of the simply weird and wonderfully interesting.
Terry and Janetr your artwork is beautiful!
Allie ((hugs))
Welcome Jill, Jacque, maxweca.
Caught up for now, hugs to all, time to zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Back from Fort Saskatchewan, it is always a different kind of visit. They really need to leave their house more often. I've made it through to page 35.
I didn't log for the last 3 days and my food choices were not great. I forgot to take my own fruit and veggies. They were in short supply.

Still feeling a bit stiff and sore after Saturday's 300 km (188 mile) bicycle ride. Especially my back where it cramped.
I might be paying a visit to my chiro and maybe also booking a massage. And then, I need to work on my core!!

Good Morning!
I am not getting too many steps in this morning because I am determined to get this written and submitted. Seriously!
Evelyn- third time is a charm for me. Right after I read your post, I was getting ready to post my reply when my husband asked me to come to him. Apparently I needed to wait a moment longer for it to send as it disappeared into outer space between my kitchen and the man cave! There is a way to write it in Word I think and then transfer....I need to ask one of my friends. This morning, I typed up then flipped pages, and, POOF! Gone again. Didn't make it to laptop as my DD called and talked with me til bedtime.
Terry and Janet- I love the Necklace and the Eggs. So beautiful. The time and talent is wonderful!
Allie- ((HUGS)) Mother nature sure is a mess this year. I hope all stay safe.
Mary- 70lbs is a fabulous loss! You are looking great!
Katie- Sounds to me like the fish was not good. As for the recipe, I would try melting a small amount of butter in bottom of pan, dip the fish in milk then the crumbs, lay in the small amount of butter, then bake. That is how I make my oven fried chicken. Love that you are trying new recipes!
Rye- May I share your story with someone in a similar situation? Don't want to share without permission. What a wonderful success story!
Our brake job is coming along, but oh so slowly. This is the first time for us changing calipers and all. Lots of trial and error. The rears are more complicated so I refused to start on them last night. I needed food and steps first. We have a friend coming over to help us with the final hook ups, but wanted to get the other stuffs done to save time for him. He will double check our work.
Some days I hate technology, others I love it. Today was an I love it. My youngest GD was in a dance competition 3 hours away. They put it on the web, so I was able to see her dance. Not the same as in person, but still nice to see. Her team won second place.
The cold has returned with snow flurries the next 3 days, then in the 60s by Friday. Could be a long week
I am going to post this, then finish reading posts.
You are amazing women!

I only type short posts on MFP when using my phone because even the slightest movement of my phone will cause my post to disappear. Also if you use smilies, your post will be cut off.
And on phone or computer if you start to type a response, then go to another page to check something, your post will be lost.
So you can either do what I've done here and respond to each person individually, and just type a short post. Or you can go the Word/Wordpad/Notepad/Email route where you type your response there, then "Select All" and "Copy", then "Paste" the response here.
If I'm going to do that, I usually use my email because I've usually got it open anyway, and I can easily save it as Draft if I have to go away and come back.

I am thankful today for two things you normally won't hear me say I am thankful for.......small boobs and cold weather.
I really need to buy another bra, mine is still wet from washing....So cold weather=3 layers and no bras today7 -
Good morning, afternoon and evening, all...
There is such joy in watching that stupid scale drop... it doesn't QUITE make up for the feeling of deprivation, but that feeling of being deprived is quite a bit less on the current plan that I'm on, so it comes a lot closer. But, when you're standing atop that tiny platform of mood modification and saying, "Yes!" it makes up for one heck of a lot.
Just lost that 13th pound - and am 4.8 pounds from Onederland. Between me and that goal is a six-day span of travel to and from West Texas March 25-30, and thank goodness I can't take the scale with me! I always become what one of our beloved members here called a "Puffy Princess" when I travel. Weighing every day is good for me at home, it keeps me centered and determined. That said, the "official" weigh-in day is Mondays, which is supposed to keep me walking the straight and narrow on the weekends.
I have to remember when I get back not to even get ON the scale on Saturday and Sunday, just stick to the plan, and weigh myself on Monday, Apr. 2. Because seriously, I can put five pounds of water weight on very easily, and I don't need my success deterred by temporary numbers that will come off with a couple of cups of coffee and a glass of iced tea.
Productive early morning - hope all my Midwest people have their phone e-mail set to Do Not Disturb, as I've sent a dozen e-mails and reports out already! Time for the elliptical.
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC for 32 more days...7 -

Kylia Hubby couldn't come out of the man cave and trek to the kitchen to talk to you? Just wondering...

Missing Re. And several others.

Terry & Janet ~ Beautiful craftmanship!
Lannette ~ I would check out some other places than Home Depot. We always find them to be a lot more expensive than others. When we were getting our flooring, I got at least 4 different quotes and was happy with the finished product.
Kay ~ Sorry your fish recipe didn’t work. I agree that it does sound like the fish! What kind did you use?
Sharon ~ I went for almost 5 days without logging and am up 3 lbs. Didn't really overeat, but, ate foods that I normally limit a lot. Back to it today and no Chex Mix after dinner.
So sorry for all the people suffering from the NorthEaster (spelling???). It is a damp cold here today with lots of wind. Dread walking the Pom.

Michele, when I go for a DEXA scan they tell me to not take a calcium supplement. I asked if that meant to limit calcium in food but the answer was to just not take the calcium supplement.
Barbara, I don't have a dramatic story about being in better physical shape now that I'm eating better, exercising more, and weighing less, but I started this journey at age 62 and now almost ten years later am more active than I was then. Sometimes my husband suggests that "at my age" I should not push myself so much but I feel able to all that I do and even more. My lifestyle change happened "one day at a time" until it became the new normal for me. I made small changes until I found what worked for me. I use Isagenix products as a large part of what I eat. Being healthy is my number one priority and I plan my life around that.
Becca, Fixing great meals for your hubby before his surgery is a great way to help him get ready for the event. Your love for him is unmistakable even without the food.
Terry, your jewelry is beautiful.
Janet, your eggs are stunning.

Thanks, Karen - I couldn't remember Re's screen name! I knew it wasn't Rye, as we have one of those now... but yes, Re, you are very much missed, as are our other MIAs...3 -
Hi all,
I haven’t been part of a community here before and have struggled staying focused on nutrition and exercise goals so I thought I’d jump in to join you all.
I am 62 and recently retired so I have no excuses for not staying focused other than I enjoy many other activities more than I enjoy exercise!
I live in New England and since we’re getting whacked with another nor’easter tomorrow, I am at the gym riding a stationary bike as I write this. Won’t be getting out to the gym tomorrow due to expected 8-14” of snow.
Glad to find a group that focuses on fitness and well-being! Have a great day!8 -

Good morning.... Yes.. portion control, portion control, portion control.. Exercise comes easy for me, love the feeling of pushing myself but I don't do well on portion control. I eat healthily but I eat too much.

Do any of you find if you eat the same thing over and over that it's easier to stay on task?
Just wondering!7
