Second strength bottle of allergy shots done today. Thursday I start next strength. There are 5 levels total, every other day for 14 times before the shots get further apart. When we start traveling, we are allowed to spread the shots out to 14 days between shots to make it last and not lose the benefits. All doable.
DH has been grumpy. Windy here and hot. Heat make DH’s hives act up, although much better since he started allergy treatments. Can’t wait to start moving again next week.

Well folks............. I had lunch with my friend, then went for a walk with DH. We parted company for the last stretch - he went off a bit further and I went home. When he came back he had some news for me. Our estate agents had rung his mobile and our vendor's offer on an empty house they want to buy has been accepted at last!!!!!! :drinker: Hopefully that means we will be able to get things underway at last and the chain stops with them!
I can hardly believe it may actually be happening at last.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx
Ditto for Pip and Katla, and oh, Heather, I'm excited for you! Hope it's all going to work out...5 -
Heather - Hooray, happy dance with you. How very exciting!!!
Big hugs

Heather: Congratulations on your house situation!! You'll soon be able to move since the current people have bought a home & can move. YAY!!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that all the moving can be done in time for summer at the beach. Thank you for your good wishes on the house painting. This is a gorgeous day for painting! We are in luck!!! :flowerforyou:
Pip: Sending good thoughts and prayers for Kirby. I hope they are able to solve his central cord problems.
Rita: I'm excited for your allergy shots situation. I hope they are a total success and you feel better. Where do you plan to go next?

So today I:
-Wipe down kitchen cabinets inside and out.
-Clean fan in kitchen and bathroom.
-Box up items from outside balcony storage closet.
Lunch!
-Take all items out of master bathroom and put on bed.
-Wash mirror, counter, sink, toilet, floor.
-Only put essentials back in! Box up rest.
Have a cuppa!
-Rest.
-Yell in my echoey apartment!
-Wipe all window wells down.
My plan is to only have to brush the baseboards, vacuum, and voilà, done. The last thing I want to be doing after we move everything to the truck on Saturday, is be cleaning a toilet!!
Tomorrow is a play day, with laundromat in the morning, (not so fun), but then I'm walking to the church where TOPS meetings are and visit. Hopefully they won't make me feel so guilty for not attending! Its before the meeting, so the gal that's a stickler for policies and legalities shouldn't be on my case!
Thursday we drive to Portland, have lunch with son and daughter in-law. I know she has school, so I did give her an out with the oblatory visit to Lees Mom after lunch. But, she said she wanted to tag along. That's sweet, and it shows to me her caring for her in-laws. I asked my son why its kind of difficult to get her to talk with us. He says she is shy, and doesn't know what to talk to me about. Well, I do try to initiate conversation. And I do want her to be comfortable with me. We are staying overnight, so hopefully I can get her to chat about her nursing courses.
Friday is staples and stitch out on his drain location. He moved a suitcase yesterday, and I gave him a "really dear?". He is sore from that!
Hugs to each and every one of you!
Know we care bout cha!
We care about your families, your mates, YOU!

Heather - so excited for you and your DH! Summer by the beach will be amazing!
Katla - i'm glad you were able to paint today! You'll have to let us see the results!
Rebecca - i'm glad that you're moving and packing is going well. It is so hard to keep men from working when they are healing.

Katla thanks for that quote! "It is not selfish to be happy. It is your highest purpose. Your joy is the greatest contribution you can make to life on the planet. A heart at peace with its owner blesses everyone it touches." ~ Alan Cohen. Sometimes I feel guilty for feeling happy when so many others are dealing with pain, sickness, disability, divorce and death...not to mention fighting a never ending battle with weight issues and self image! I certainly have my problems and don't have a perfect relationship and have financial issues and self-confidence problems, but on the whole I choose to be happy every day and to try to live my life in the most joyful way possible. I have people in my life who are miserable to be around, negative and complaining, depressed-I don't want to be like that. I would rather focus on good things and be uplifting to others. Wendy9

On the bus going back to tacoma. They want him to schedule an MRI as I thought. We’ll c what happens after that. Yes I will go with him on that one. Said he’s claustrophobic. Doc says should only take about 1/2 hr in there.5

Planning on going to Nevada next. We want to stay at Valley of Fire state park south of Vegas and near Hoover Dam. Then travel the Alien Highway and hang out in Nevada for a while. They have a park pass for $200 a year which allows camping for free. You just pay $10. 00 a night for electricity and water hookups. If you don't want the hookups, camping is free in Nevada with this pass. New Mexico has one too which we bought last year that works the same way only it is $4.00 a night for hookups.

Whoot! Heather! How exciting!! I am tentatively jumping for joy for you! (I will keep it tentative until you receive final word that it's a go)
Wendy- May you never feel guilt over being happy. I think you and I are similar spirits. Basically content with the world and finding joy where ever we can in our lives. I too have a depressed, negative, complainer in my life. I have a hard time with people who are very flip with the latest mantra of "getting the toxic people out of your life". I love my "Eeyeore" and although he gives me the most "shade"; he wasn't always that way. And if everyone deserted their toxic person, there would be no one to help the miserable and depressed. I use my gratitude journal and am thankful every day for what joy I find and can share. Who knows, maybe I am someone's only sunlight?!?
Allie- Just wondering if you have been doing protein shakes for breakfast and lunch a lot lately? You may want to check your nutrition. You may not be eating enough or eating the right things to keep your energy/immune system on track. Take care of yourself; you are a treasure to many!
Pip-Hope you and Kirby find some answers! Glad you are seeing the docs and getting tests. Sending much love!
Mary- So nice to see your posts on here! Sounds like April is off to a good start for you!6 -

I think happiness and joy is definitely something you choose. Sometimes to find the happiness you have to go through some messy emotions. Sometimes people put on the fake smiles that don't light up their eyes and say they're happy, but really they are a mess inside. My middle sister is a faker that way. You ask her how she's doing and she says fine. Its an automatic response to stop you from asking.
I truly love to smile at people and have them return the favor back to me. It makes my world look brighter. Yesterday, when we went to the grocery store for the third time these last couple of days to buy boxes, I hugged Curtis, my cashier. He's always happy. Do you all have a favorite cashier you hunt for in the grocery store you frequent?
Husband got up on the master bath's counter to change the vanity's many lightbulbs!!! Darn that man!! I yelled at him! He pouted and stuck out his tongue at me!!
Well back to the grind. Finished all the cabinets, and was letting them dry, before scrubbing the floor.
Next is master bath! I don't have to do the shower thank goodness, did that the other day. Took the longest shower ever, then continued with cleaning stuff!

Pip and Kirby, will be hoping for the MRI to give your doctors the information necessary.... and I/2 hour can seem like forever in the machine. :-(
I love to be joyful. I agree that sometimes circumstances put themselves in the way of happiness but for the most part, I love my life and love to laugh lots.

Heather ~ Yeah for you! Hope all goes well with the upcoming move.
Pip & Kirby ~ Good wishes for you both and hope all turns out well with the MRI.
Becca ~ You rock at moving. You have a very busy week!
Katla ~ Know you will love getting the paint and bet it looks great.
Today the frig had a problem and we had to call in a repairman. Funny thing was that when he got here, the problem resolved itself without his help.
Internet went out for about two hours and that meant no tv, computer, house phone, etc. Guess it's not such a good idea when everything like that is under one provider.

I am home and in my jammies~
hadn't heard from my DB so I called and texted him and didnt hear from him until this afternoon .. well he took a day off from working at my dads which I am glad.. but my SIL started in on me about me and my kids not helping Sean out over at my dads.that he is working over there 3-4 days a week 6-8 hrs a day.. and we are basically doing nothing...
and she is pissed because I make plans with friends and stuff.. personally I think she is a bit jealous. she has a mom with alzhimers thats needs round the clock care, she works 3 days at a hospital and does per diem.
My brother basically take care of the house, the lake house and the beach house.. makes dinner ,does laundry etc..
he does get a weekly paycheck from the trust for this..
I am trying to do the best I can with the time I got, and yes darn I want to go out and do things every once in awhile but boy does she like to lay a guilt trip, especially when I cant help her with Faith(her mom)
OK enough of my yapping...
Keeping machka and her DH in my prayers xoxoxo7 -
Allie your time just like your money is for you to decide how to spend it. You gave plenty when DD was alive. Your DB is the one who wants to buy the house and flip it. Let him. He is the one who has decide if it is worth it to him. If he wants to pay you for your time that is different. I take it he will keep the profit if there is any because he is buying the house.
Pip hope test goes well for Kirby!

Heather, so happy for you that you have finally heard something about the house sale! Keeping my fingers crossed for you still! Good for you for clearing stuff out before you move! Must be such a liberating feeling!
Lisa, I read a few pages back somebody wishing you a happy birthday, so wanted to add my wish for a happy day for you also! I hope it was/is a good one!
Wendy, laughed out loud about your hubby looking right at Beauty and not "seeing" her! Sorry to hear that she got hurt while being transported, glad it wasn't serious. So happy that you got her, she'll come into her own with your loving touch! That Maori statue is pretty darn awesome!
Rebecca, you are a moving machine! Sure wish you could have been here to help whip hubby and I into shape when we were moving! Really could have used someone who knew what they were doing.... We, clearly, did NOT! Oh well, it did get done and now we are working on clearing out more stuff.
Allie, it's possible that your body is telling you it's had enough! You have been under a HUGE load of stress over the past year or so, you have handled it all with grace and dignity. Your body could be telling you that you need to take some time for YOU! Do a little pampering, the wind chimes are certainly a good start, it sounds like you are really enjoying them. Maybe you need to spend a little time in your outdoor zen den, is the weather nice enough where you are to be able to sit out and enjoy some nature? Sincerely hope you are not coming down with anything!
Pip, hoping you and Kirby get some answers to his pain issues. Awesome photo, him so blonde and fair and you a perfect contrast! Striking looking couple for sure.
Kelly, have to agree, you may be some people's only sunshine! We gotta shine when we can! It's just too hard to be all gloom and doom all day anyway!
Rita, happy travels! Good to hear that the allergy shots are helping.
Kim, so happy to hear that the dinner went off okay. Sorry to hear that your mom was short with you when you tried to hug her. I'm fortunate to come from a pretty huggy family!
Machka, continued hugs and thoughts. Hoping for nothing but the best of outcomes for you and hubby.
Didn't get to the gym this am, but did have a productive day. Got on the computer and went through a bunch of photos, sent some off to get printed, some are our grandson, also a couple of our son and his fiancee for "their" wedding album. It's my album, but will be of their wedding and I wanted to get a couple of their engagement photos. Anyway, I finally got my "stuff" together and am getting prints done. I promised them a photo of our son when he was a baby for a family collage that she has done up and I finally got that scanned into the computer and ordered! Also did some other, little things along those lines, felt so good to get that done! Was texting younger son yesterday and he confirmed he is coming out for the wedding, so I did a little bit in what will be his bedroom while he is here. Hubby has taken it over as a storage area, which would be okay, except he is storing stuff on top of the bed. I cleared a bunch of stuff off, he will have to deal with most of the rest. I found better homes for the stuff that I cleared. Will have to do a good vacuuming in there in a few weeks, the wedding is coming up fast!
Our son kind of dropped a bombshell on us on Friday, said he wants to have his "only living grandparent" at his wedding. This would be my mil. She is in extended care, doesn't remember who me or my hubby (her son!) are, doesn't like crowds.... I do not see it ending well. He also wants hubby's brother there. He is mentally challenged and also doesn't do well in crowds. If there is alcohol (there will be) he will drink and then he gets kind of unpredictable. He's not violent, but..... Again, I don't see it ending well. Not quite sure what we're going to do yet. I think I'll ask him is he's spoken to any of mil's caregivers and if they think it's a good idea or not.
Okay, enough of this particular novel! Hope everyone has a great day/night!

Hello dear friends. Winter is trying to hold on around here. Cold and chances of rain and snow most the week. I am so ready for 60-70 degree days.
My friends surgery went well. Now is just the waiting game to see how much memory and speech she will get back and if she will be able to live on her own. I know this is so hard on her and I wish I knew what to say or do.
Came to work today and they finally got my job posted to replace the lady we had to let go. Then another person comes in this morning and says he want to take sometime off starting May 18th. I explain again how short we are and I am trying to get someone hired. He tells me he wants to be off 3 months. That can't happen as would be the whole summer and to short of help. So not sure what is going to happen with this.
Wendy--Glad to hear beauty is there and safe.
Sharon--Glad you at least let them know what you know. Please take care of you and do what is best for you and remember you are not second best.
Heather--Congrates on the house news!!
Pip--They can give him something while they are doing the MRI. There should be no reason they can't. As for only being half an hour when a person is claustrophobic that is way to long. So tell him to speak up and not back down.
Allie--Do not let your SIL try to make you feel bad about what you do. They are used to you just jumping everytime they wanted something. Now you are taking care of you. Proud of you for that.
All out of time. Blessings, Vicki GI NE6 -
Morning all
Alli - People often come down with a bug after a highly stressful period in their lives. My Dr says the body is using every backup resource whilst it is fighting stress and when the stress stops, there is nothing left for the body to fight bugs with. Take good care fo yourself, eat well and drink lots of water
Pip - Beautiful picture - hope all goes well with the spine doctor. Oh no I hate MRI - but I hope the outcome is positive
Heatherr - how exciting!
Wendy - Never feel guilty over being happy . There are high and lows for everyone,
Okay _ I need advise of what to do with Bananas that are going off - I have about 7 in the fruit stand and 9 in the freexer. Sicko f banan cake, banana and blueberry muffins - any help woud be very much appreciated

Pip, I avoided an MRI to diagnose what was wrong with my legs because I am so claustrophobic. Then I heard that someone got a prescription from their doctor to help them relax. I asked my doctor about that and she prescribed something that made it possible for me to relax in MRI and get my problem diagnosed. I hope Kirby will ask his doctor for something. My doctor prescribed lorazepam. There are problem several other anti-anxiety drugs that would do the same thing.
Rebecca, congrats on your continued success with the moving process. Good luck on your trip. I'll be thinking of you the whole way.
Heather, how exciting that the home sale process is moving along for you. You are doing such a great job of clearing out unneeded possessions as you await the actual move.
Katla, we are still so happy with the success of our house painting last fall. I hope yours turns out just as great.
Allie, It's time to stop letting your SIL get to you. Do what's best for you. Get rested and renew your spirit by spending time with your friends and your dog.
Vicki, I hope you don't left holding the bag with someone going off on a long vacation.
Evelyn, I hope you can explain things to your son so he doesn't expect people at his wedding that can't handle being there.
Jake felt good enough to get his hair cut today. I drove him over and he felt so much better to have his hair the way he wanted it.

Trish, I freeze the bananas and pull them out one at a time as the base for a fruit smoothie. Banana, protein. Powder, almond milk, a few power greens or spinach, and whatever else you want to flavor it up, like berries or powdered peanut butter.5

PIP - A MRI will take about 40 minutes (that was on my head only). I am extremely claustrophobic. I was able to stay still; but, when I am told 'not to move' ... everything starts itching. When they did a CT Scan (after I fell); Bill prescribed Ativan and I took it 30 minutes before my scan. Trey drove me, of course, I took it right before we got there and I remember walking through the door, laying down; and, nothing after that. Also it was in what they called an 'open' machine. The MRI is extremely noisy, clicking, grinding, whirring, even with ear plugs it was loud. I'll never have either done without being able to take Ativan first. They might have to have woken me up; but, I would not be crammed in a round box!
Allie - Take care of yourself and I agree, until you find out what you have you need to stay away from FnL.
Now, I need to get back to posting and tracking food and exercise. Deactivating account since it was hacked and took off a week. Made a new account and now have to add food to my list and now figure out how to put my avatar back on the page. Anybody can tell me?
Husband did not tell me he had a Rx to be picked up, and the pharmacist did not say anything about it. Since we just started using Publix (K-Mart sold their client's list - and it is convenient). Can't say that prices are that much different. But, they don't have 'automatic' refills like K-Mart did and we had been dealing with K-Mart forever. I like their bottles a lot better. Can use them for things in Louis' shed, screws, nails, bolts, etc.
Back up 2.5 lbs. But, this week I have literally 'craved' ice cream ... so that has been my lunch at least 3x this week. Just not eating healthy and now I cannot brag that I had pushed past that 160lb. mark. Need to be 'forcing' myself to drink water.
Becca - Good luck with the move.
Welcome - Newbies!
Love ya,

Hi Ladies --
Skimming through. I know I'm behind! Would like to comment on everyone's but have to take it easy here....
Pip - sorry to hear about Kirby - hope the MRI goes well and whatever is wrong is easily fixable. Valium is our friend.
Karen in VA - I remember Mrs. McGillicutty! (sp). Your mom was super special!!
Kelly - good observations about RA. There's so much that can help nutrition-wise. I'm like you, I'd be willing to give something a try to feel better and maybe cut down on the meds. My DH isn't interested in doing anything different so I just shrug my shoulders and move on, that's all I can do.
Barbie - thanks for setting us up for April! You are so great in keeping our "lifeline" continuing. Hooray on the fence and glad Jake is out walking!!
Wendy - way to go with your new filly. I think I could have maybe pulled that off getting another ewe when we already had 50 or 60. But my DH always had a big heart for animals and sounds like yours does as well. That little gal is gorgeous!! Her former owner sounded scary!
Machka - thinking of you and your DH continually.
Heather - such good news about your house. All systems go and full speed ahead!!!
Rita - your allergy treatment is so interesting to me. I am now up to 2 shots per week and each shot increases the dose a little, slowly ramping up and I'll be "full strength" in a few weeks and will stay on that throughout the spring and summer I guess. Allergies have not been a problem at all recently so either nothing is blooming or this stuff is working.
My sacro is still giving me major problems. Went to doc, she thinks it's not a herniated disc but some muscle/skeletal deal and advised see a chiropractor. There's a young one in town that folks really like so I see him on Friday morning. He must be good, he's booked out for days!
I am wondering if my problems are tied to my new "pressure insoles" the foot doc had me buy. I've been wearing them in my shoes a lot and of course my posture is now different by a hair but sometimes that's all it takes.
It's still fairly painful for me to sit for any length of time. So I'm either standing, walking, or in bed on the heating pad -ice in the mornings. Taking ibuprofen, muscle relaxers, medical MJ for a good night's sleep and also using one of those Aleve Direct Therapy TENS units. Dang me that is a great little thing! I will probably wear it out! Doing a lot of stretches/ piraformis, hamstring. I've been able to talk DH into giving me some acupressure - it is swollen on the right side near my tailbone so he presses there with the heel of his hand. It helps. I've even gotten my lower back to "crack" a couple times. Not sure if it helped but things must be relaxing.
Anyhow, that's what's new regarding my pain in the *kitten*. Hate it that I can't do strength training until this thing stops flaring up.
It has been an eye opener for DH to have to be my caretaker and seeing me in pain, grouchy, etc. Now I know how he feels when he's grouchy. Kind of an eye-opener when the caretaker needs care. I know he appreciates all I do for him. And vicey versa.
OK ladies, better wind this down and hit the heating pad. Finished what I could in the VERA series now will catch up on Endeavor!

Finally got around to changing my profile pic. It says "Don't be a window licker"...LOL. Don't know what that means but don't be one just to be on the safe side.
