Good morning Ladies!
Michelle - I'm having issues with the laptop version but can do everything (except sync) on my phone.
Wendy - Glad the horse is safely with you. I'm sorry to hear her transport was rough. She has landed in paradise now and will live out a wonderful life being pampered by you. I wish I was close so I could come pet her (over the fence, I still have some fear of horses) and talk to her.
Joyce - Yeah for you going to church! Have a great time in choir, I know you have missed it!
Barbie - I love naps in my recliner! I didn't realize Sasha was a standard poodle. I had one growing up. He was a black boy and weighed 70 lbs. He thought he was a lap dog like my toy poodle that weighed 7 lbs. I miss having poodles, but not taking them to the cleaners to be clipped.
Lisa - Hang in there. I know it is tough. It has taken me so long to get to where the scale being up from sodium (or flying) doesn't put me in a tailspin. I can finally look at the number and go, meh, it will come back down. I didn't eat enough to gain 2 lbs of fat.
Allie - I love listening to my wind chimes. I have a set that was my Dad's on my front porch and a set that we bought on the back porch.
Laura - Yeah for family brunch! Love the photo!
Martha/Tammy/and Other Newbies I missed - Welcome! Jump right in!
Kim - I'm glad you felt safe. I'm sorry you and your Mom are so different. My mother in law is kind of the same way. She is not demonstrative AT ALL.
Kylia - You did a great job with your stats yesterday!! I give you a Gold Star, not that it means anything!
Trish - Good luck on your goals!
Terry - Glad your daughter is safely home! Answered prayers!! Good luck on the road to onederland!
Ginger - Good luck with your plan. You can do this. Turn to us for support when you need it.
We had a good day yesterday. Took the car out for a nice drive as it was partly sunny and in the 70's, even popped into the low 80's for a bit. We had a lovely lunch while we were out. My weight held steady today, I was guessing it would be up a bit from eating out. I am hopeful that I will see downward movement by Friday. I am so close to goal that I can taste it. I think it is funny that I am closing in on my goal just as the hubs is getting serious about getting his moving down again. We will see what this week hold. Hopefully he is down when he weighs Friday morning below his low point that he hasn't been able to move beyond for about 2 months. I know how frustrating that is, as do most of you.
Have a great week ladies!

Greetings from snow covered grass in Ohio,
Joyce- I hope you enjoy the Ark Encounter. I went with my grands a couple of years ago with my DH. I really liked it. Would like to go again solo, so that I can read and explore a little more.
Wendy- So glad your filly is home safely. It is scary when they go down in the trailer. My MIL use to have horses. One of them went down in the trailer upon delivery. When he came up, my hand was in the wrong place! He was fine, I had a severely bruised hand. I love the pictures! Such a beautiful place.
Welcome to the newbies! We are a talkative bunch and supportive. Welcome!
Kim- So glad your visit went okay. It really is sad to me when someone is not touchy. I am a hugger. My DH wasn't but with time, he now holds my hand and gives me hugs. I know there is a lot on your mind (((HUGS)))
Love the pictures! Family, friends, pets, and flowers....they all brighten my day!
Work calling my name, but need to get some yoga in this morning. Will see what DVD I have this morning.
May your Monday be filled with the best choices you can make, love, and movement!

Good morning ladies and thank you for the nice welcome! We attended church at a large local Chuch yesterday, instead of our home church, because they had a special service. The music and the preaching were excellent and the focus of both just right.
So I know you know this but weight is a fickle thing! I have decided to weigh in on Mondays and Fridays so I can track where I am without the mind games I put myself through when weigh daily. Being that today is Monday I weighted in this morning and after a holiday I am at 233.1 down almost two pounds.
How does that happen? Lol It will make me crazier than I already am!
Barbie at-that is a LOT of dog walking! We are trying to get s new puppy (my 14 year black German Shepherd passed earlier this year) to be my new exercise partner too. But not sure I will be walking that many minutes. Lol

Okie- Thank you for the gold star! I am proud too!
Lisa- I am glad you understand your body and travel. I don't fly enough and was frustrated when I last flew. Nice to know that some weight gain is normal.
As for the crunchy foods, my DH has his mouth closed, but tends to stand close to me when I am working on something else. grumble, grumble. It is so annoying! It is so noisy when everything else is quiet!
My MIL is going in for some sort of test on blockage possibilities this morning. She hadn't told anyone but her sister up until last night! Grumbling again. This family!?!?!? She hadn't even told her boyfriend of over 10 years who lives with her! My DH and I have been told not to tell his sister.....really????....why???? I don't understand. Prayers that all is good.
Machka- Prayers continuing for you and your husband. BREATHE and know that we are all thinking of you and wish we were physically there to help.
I am so happy to be part of such a loving and supportive group. Safe travels to those traveling, peace to those in need, and happy dance for all the love and support!
Yes, MFP and Fitbit are a mess right now. Trying to remember that and go with the flow, but such an intricate part of my day, that I find that hard!
Kylia still needing to get ready for work in Ohio4 -
Good morning! Happy Monday!
Kylia- Great picture of you and your family! Misophonia that is the name for what we suffer from. When constant or repetitive sounds annoy some one to the point of rage or irrational anger. A dripping faucet, a baby crying, loud chewing, a constant sniffing...for me it is the chewing. Earlier in my life, it was an issue for me. I would have to leave the room while my DH was eating (I swear the man has a hollow head). My kids were taught very early to chew with their mouths closed. It has been a problem with some of the daycare kids, but I think in recent years, I have controlled the desire to destroy offenders. Hubby is still alive and his eating bothers me more than anyone. I really think he has a hollow head that works like a microphone or echo chamber. I will hear the crunch, the clicking swallow, the clink of a spoon or fork on his teeth and I have to talk myself down and into a more peaceful state. Don't even get me started if he is chewing gum. He doesn't snap or pop it with his mouth open; but I can hear it in his mouth. My DD has issues with misophonia as well. My sons do not. IF it is your hubby or a family member doing this, I will suggest playing some soft music during meal time. It really helps me.
Thanks all for the Joaquin love! He is a keeper! Yesterday when I hopped on viber for our chat, as soon as I appeared on his phone, he smiled and pointed at me and said " "Ama!" Grandma! Oh my heart!
Wendy-Gorgeous picture of you and the Maori statue! And your new filly is a pretty thing! I am laughing at your DH. Sometimes they seem totally oblivious to what is going on around them.
Heather-Cute pic of the kids! Are masks a regular Easter thing in England? Or just a fun thing for them this year? Love to hear about your meals! Hoping that when the day comes that I am not cooking three meals a day (two of them for small people) that I will take joy in cooking and create meals like you do! Runner's World! I love that magazine!
Thinking of all of you getting more snow!- As I sit here in lower Michigan and complain about the colder temps and the smattering or sleet/snow we are supposed to be getting this week, I am so THANKFUL that I am not in your shoes. Like most people, I love snow, but it is time for it to be gone!!
Reading books on homeopathy and pain management for DH. I got one called Neuroimmunity that I can't wait to dive into. I put a hold on a book called The Neuroscientist Who Lost Her Mind. It's an autobiography about a neuroscientist who found out she had brain tumors. I am very interested in reading and hearing her thoughts both clinical (as a doctor) but also as a patient.
Kids arriving soon. Better fly! I asked my nine year old what she wanted to do this week (craft/activity) and she wanted more science stuff. So, I went ingredient shopping yesterday for things we need for safe indoor science stuff. It will be good.
love and hugs to all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ

Whoot!! Just got off the scale! I am down another two pounds! I am just a couple of ounces under 230 (I don't count that third pound until it is all gone); but finally out of the 230s! Onederland by the end of June! I can do this!11
-
Uggg...can't log food right now. Hopefully, MFP can get this taken care of like they did last night. Wonder if they can since it's Easter?
Rita - your breakfast sounds delish! I always find it a challenge to take a recipe and make it lower in calories. Would your hubby?
Was it katie who said that Brecks had the daffodils? Well, I looked there, and they have them but they don't ship until Fall. I was hoping to get them to plant around now. Guess I won't. Some of them are really pretty.
Wendy - Beauty is a lovely name and sure fits her. Do hope you get her
Vince went to church today with me. He's a C&E're. Then came home a cleaned the winshield in my car. It was badly streaked. Hope it came out OK, we'll know tomorrow when we take it out in the sunshine. Went to Lowe's Hardware to get the corrugated piping. Then put down the Wet & Forget on the deck. That takes amost all day to do.
Diane and slja - welcome, pull up a chair, pour yourself and glass of water, and jump right in
kylia - I'm going to record Jesus Christ superstar. I love that show!
Michele in NC
Michele, another source of large, high quality daffodil bulbs (but yes, for fall planting) is Brent and Becky's Bulbs. You can order now and they will deliver them at the proper planting time for your zone. They are in Gloucester, VA and they started their business with daffodils. For awhile, that was all they sold. brentandbeckybulbs*com Look under Keyword: Narcissus

Barbie: Thanks for the kind words about spending time with Arrow. I'm lucky that his owner appreciates me riding him. It is a win situation for all of us. He gets more exercise & attention, I get to ride, and she also gets to ride. Neither of us has enough time to devote to him but between us he gets enough attention and exercise to stay healthy.
Joyce: "Why do we have so many women here from the Pacific North West. Why can't we get some women from southern Indiana?" People out here tend to be health conscious. I have no idea why there are fewer members from Indiana. :flowerforyou:
Kim: My mom was both socially shy & touch shy, too. She was very embarrassed about her body and I wonder whether her mother shamed her. :ohwell:
Martha from N CA: Welcome!
Wendy: It is so lucky for that filly that you are a generous and caring person. I'm sorry that she hurt herself in transport & hope she heals quickly. I agree with Lisa about the beauty of both you and your environment. Great photo!
Peach: I wasn't able to upload a photo, either. :grumble:
I am up very early today because DH couldn't sleep & woke me as he got up. My plans for the day include yoga class & picking up DH's old watch from the local Fred Meyer. He took it to them for repair. They weren't able to repair it so he bought a new watch. I'm not sure what he wants to do with the old one.

Yes I too am ready for snow to be gone. It was 13 degrees yesterday morning and 20 today. I will try to remember when we have a 90 plus day this summer. LOL

Have never really looked in the community part of MFP, and as I read all your posts am wondering what the heck took me so long. Have logged meals for the past couple years, but found motivation and accountability just might be more important at this point....Am 55 and wanting to shed about 20 pounds, you all have inspired me this morning! wishing all success in your goals! With that said, my thoughts for today are to focus on goal planning for April....will think on them and post here later! Thank you all for you inspiring posts!8

Love the family photos, Laura and Kylia.
What a fabulous spot for a hike, Wendy. Do you feel safe wearing shorts? Over here we are advised always to wear tucked in long trousers because of the ticks and the diseases they bring. I'm always covered up top and bottom through fear of bites and stings as well. And sunburn. Guess I'm just a wimp, though Lymes is no fun and our nearest wild space is notorious for it. Dogs also can get some horrible fatal disease there, but nobody seems to know why. You look as if you had a great time.
I fiddled around with my memoir this morning, changing the title, writing out boring things like copyright page and taking out a photo. Then I had to copy it to everything, changing the file title. Grrrrrrrrrr! I am so not good at painstaking work. And a complete amateur. Still, I'm getting there.
I'm very neurotic about backing everything up, so it all takes ages.
KJ - DDIL sent the photo from the house they have swapped with in Edinburgh. I expect the masks were just random stuff they found in the toy box up there and she took a photo to send to "Granny and Johnny". She is very good at keeping us in the loop.
I love Runner's World. It's so well written and something for everyone, whether total beginner or advanced. Good, attractive layout. My DDIL bought one for the plane ride up to Edinburgh because I recommended it and she texted me to thank me. I read them on my tablet.
I'm going to use the left over lamb today to make a curry with butternut squash, chickpeas and spinach.
Horrible, grey, boring weather here. I'm going to ride my recumbent bike and watch Holding Back the Years on BBC iplayer.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -
Good morning!
I've been pretty much MIA the past few days - finally spent a lot of time in bed on the heating pad. Darn sacroiliac. It is getting better. Happens every couple years it seems and I am ticked it went out of whack despite all of the strength training I've been doing. Definitely will add hamstring stretches to my warm-ups.
I see I have a lot to catch up on - hope everyone had a good Easter.
I did manage to catch up on a lot of the Vera episodes however ;-).
Have a great Monday, gals!

I have the perfect life for all the dog walking I do. I am retired. I have no family demands except my husband who is home with me all the time. I do a minimum of housework. I live in a neighborhood of private, well cared for roads. I am an early riser so when I walk the dogs there is no one out but us. I seek every opportunity to be active and the dogs are willing to help me with that.

Lanette: I'm glad you stopped in. I've been wondering about you. I'm sorry to hear about the sacroiliac misery. I hope you're feeling better by the minute. :flowerforyou:4

Hi fellow fitness pals! I'm new to My Fitness Pal. I lost 36 lbs on Weight Watchers last year. I did not like the new plan and decided to try MFP. So far it's a great program but I need help. I am following this blog because I'm 50+ and I really need the support and encouragement of this group I could also use some tips about transitioning from WW to MFP. Instead of counting points (which was quite easy) to counting calories, protein, fats, etc. which is a bit of a difficult transition for me. Any pointers would be fantastic!!!
April goals:
- lose 5 lbs
- workout 4 days a week
- movement every day
- get 7+ hours sleep a night (difficult with 8 month old kitty)
- find that motivation again
- get off of sugar!!! (seriously haven't since Christmas)5 -
Barbie It is because of the decisions you have made that you have the perfect life (for you)! It isn't at all easy to let go of the seductions and obligations that seem important, desirable, or necessary to each of us. In fact, those seductions complicate our lives, and sometimes make us miserable. You are a great example of someone who has methodically simplified and disciplined her life in order to achieve a high quality of life.
Lanette Sacroiliac strains are a pain in the patootie! Glad you are getting better.

Hello Ladies- I'm Sherri, from Ontario Canada. I did WW in the past, but just couldn't see the money in it. I love MFP- so much that I've started and stopped multiple times! I was on a huge logging streak and down to 189 (currently 266). I felt great, and even though that was almost 4 years ago- I'd like to get it back and lose even more! I'm a busy mom of 3- 16 year old twins and a 10 year old- all girls who play hockey. We boat in the summer. I love to knit and have 2 king charles cavalier dogs- a 4 year old ginger named Woody, and a 7 month tri colour girl named Lola. Woody needs to lose a couple pounds too- so we need to get him out walking!
Goals for April:
-10 lbs down- just starting again and the first few pounds come off easy I know
-get some walks at lunch- snow is starting to melt and I am NOT chained to my desk
-limit the red wine through the week (honestly the hardest I think)

On wind chimes, i love them but by friend Joyce is crazy nuts over them. There are at least 10 chimes, varying in size, in the pecan orchard between their house and ours. And I'm sure you all aware of "Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain", we have quite a cacophony of chimes.

@MandPal
Welcome!
There are a bunch of us who used to go to WW on this thread.
It is labor intensive to log on MFP at first, but after awhile you will build up a list of foods you have previously logged. You will then be able to click on the food in your list, adjusting the amount if needed, and add it to your day's intake without looking up the food from scratch. Most of us have food scales and other measuring devices. I am a big fan of weighing food. A "tablespoon" of oil is a less precise measurement than 13g of oil weighed on a food scale, for example.
