Just talked to Dr office and the results of my bone density are back. It seems I do not have osteoporosis but ostio -pennia. They recommend I take a 2000 IU of vitMin D and a once a week Alendronate. Anyone had experiences with either medication/vitamin?
I love iris and have so many I have to thin them out in some of the beds once a year. Last year I gave away hundreds of plants and threw some of the rhozimes down by the river in a low place where I dump leaves etc. Guess what, this spring there are irises blooming down there. They are very hardy little plants.
We actually have three Sues now. I think we should call KY Sue susie q. That was my nickname when I was little
Kay- prayers for a peaceful and blessed week.
Heather- we have actually been on a Baltic cruise out of Amsterdam. It was quite a trip as the ship hit a cable going out of the locks into the North Sea and had to return to port. Three days later we had a flight back to Dallas. The cruise company paid for everything and we rebooked 6 weeks later. Since it was an anniversary cruise, they gave all the gift package again. The ship went to dry dock and we were on the same line but different ship. We can cruise out of Galveston (About a 5 hour drive) but prefer To fly out of Dallas to the departure city. We usually go in a day early and this time we are also staying two days in Copenhagen after the cruise. We haven’t been to Finland or Moscow so that is exciting.
Michele- I am ready for the pool party, just let us know when. Lol oh, I do need to lose 10 pounds tho.
Micah’s- so happy your hubby is making such good progress. His good health and fitness will surely help in. His recovery.
Need to get outside and work. Have a great day.

Had to drive from Marietta to Woodstock to pick up DGD from school and take her to the doctor. Bug bite on let was red, swollen, and big. Dr. prescribed children's zyrtec. Took her back to school at 10:58 and was told her class had just finished eating lunch and was leaving the lunchroom. Secretary said she couldn't page the teacher to let her know C needed to eat lunch. So now I have to worry that my skinny little 6 yr old is going hungry.
Now I have to leave and go back to the dentist to find out where my tooth pain is coming from.
KeytoneKaren ~ Had to look up your certification and must assume you are in the medical field.
Katla ~ So sorry you had a bad Sunday. Hope today is better.
Barbie ~ Don't overdo the yard work.
Allie ~ Glad you enjoyed your weekend.
Pip ~ Had to look up ebike and didn't know there was such a thing.

I would've told the Secretary to call back your dear granddaughter to eat a peantbutter and jelly sandwich in the office! The cafeteria always has those. Then send her back to the classroom. That was a noncaring secretary right there. She can't page the teacher? Then miss lazy @$$ Secretary needs to walk and get her, walk to back to the office, call cafeteria up to bring down a pb and j!!! Easy peasy. Don't allow that ta happen again! Ok talk over haha!

Good afternoon Ladies -
We had a great weekend here at home. Hubs is home for the week, so that is exciting! Prep work is underway for patio therapy Sunday afternoon at our house.
I had a great find at the grocery store this morning! I went to a different store than normal and they had one last batch of my limited run toasted marshmallow yogurt with a May 27th date!!! I bought all they had (10 of them)! Now I have several more days of marshmallow bliss in front of me! Yeah!!!
Have a great day ladies -

Sunny 70 here, perfect weather for cleaning.Hate cleaning in soupy, sweaty weather Stripped the beds & have them re made, cleared the fridge & wiped it out.Gonna run the sweeper & dust. That will be it till later in the week.
DH keeps up with our small flower beds, but says he is “over” planting. From the guy who kept our last place & 3 acres so perfect ,planting every tree, bush & flower.I can’t blame him.Truth be told, there are several inside things that have fallen by the way side & good riddance. Ironing, heavy floor scrubbing & saving books comes to mind.
Hoping to get my sewing stuff sold, then will be about done paring down. The less, the better.
Barbara.....Mom loved iris ,hers were all wild in the wooded part of their place. She loved looking out a window to see them in the Spring.Your fence is so pretty. I like the gate, very handy.
Taking SIL to PT tomor.DD has the feeding of the teachers. All food ordered & brought in,but a job for sure. They expect 60 ppl.
Wed ,we go to hub’s eye Dr for evaluation. Tons of tests. They said to expect 3 hrs! Will be taking Ipad,a book & mags, tea & a couple snack bars.Never know when it comes to medical stuff......or hub. Always take an extra tea & snack bar ,tho he says “none for me”

Well dear husband was giving the lawn mower pulls yesterday, and got the blasted thing started! So of course, he starts mowing, with his moccasins on! He had the wheels on low, so when he came by, I put the wheels much higher, so easier to mow! Our front yard is pretty small, but steep slope! This morning his side was sore, so no gym. It's feast or famine with that guy. I told him yesterday that he could do the front, but leave the back till today, but of course he said no worries. Lordy!
Well today I'm down a lb! Maybe all my raking helped.
Hugs to each and every one of yas!

Penney. Last night my phone was loading the posts and pictures and it all just disappeared! Frustrating!
The Yes, our property is on a little hill. It’s 1.3 acres. Large enough to have a large mowing job. There are neighbors down below us on the other side of the creek. All the homes sit 1-2 acres out here and we are 4 miles from the main road and 10 miles from Hot Springs. Here are the pictures:

Thanks Dana! Your neighborhood looks gorgeous and peaceful. And green and leafy. And hillier than expected. I've never been in Arkansas and I'm ashamed to say I know diddly-squat about the state. We-e-e-ll, I do know enough to correct any Europeans pronounce it as though it rhymes with Kansas, which is most of them. :grumble:
I'm on my eighth day of strict logging and on all but one I've been under my goal. When I did go over it was only by 46 kcal. I'm on a roll right now. Funny how sometimes I find it impossible not to eat mindlessly, and other times everything just works.

Hi, guys!
Sorry I've been MIA for May, just trying to get things back together after moving cross-country, working for four days then going on a nine-day marathon road trip for work. Got back Friday night and took today off to get things back in order, with my bosses blessing.
Got a call this afternoon, and we just won the single biggest grant in the history of the organization, a quarter-million in funding from a single organization (that prefers to donate anonymously). I was the primary grant writer, but of course, it's a team effort always. I'm just over the moon! The call actually came in on April 30, but my boss was on vacation, and didn't get the message until today. As soon as she listened to it, she called, along with my fellow grant manager, to let me know we won. And the call actually came in the day before my one-year anniversary. I'm so pleased and so proud...
And my weight's doing well. I was up only 3/4 of a pound over the nine-day trip, and by my official Monday weigh-in this morning, had lost that, plus another 3/4 pound, so I'm pretty pleased about that, too.
Been reading, but not saying much, and my apologies for that.
Still here, thanks for thinking of me...

Oh and that brings to mind a song with state names woven into it that my mother learned in highschool. A few sample verses:
What did Idaho boys, oh what did Idaho?
She hoed her Maryland boys, she hoed her Maryland.
What did Delaware boys, oh what did Delaware?
She wore her New Jersey boys, she wore her New Jersey.
What did Tennessee boys, oh what did Tennessee?
She saw what Arkansas boys, she saw what Arkansas.

(((Kay:))) My heart breaks for your losses. Losing a child to the legal system & a young grandchild are both so very hard. Prayers for you and your daughter.
Lanette: Yes, this is the same neighbor who gave me grief and used my water hose to water things she planted last summer. I made a complaint about the latest intrusion to the President of the HOA a few minutes ago and he already acted. He sent her a message to leave my plants alone. I sent him a big thank you message. Regarding sublingual B12, I've been taking it for only 3 days but I felt an immediate difference. I also eliminated alcohol in my diet. Between the two things, I'm feeling much better.
Janetr: I love the cartoon! Now I understand exactly why I don't want a fitbit. I wouldn't remember to charge it and then I'd feel guilty about it.
Evie: The neighbor cannot see any of my plants from her house. We live in town houses, and hers is across the main driveway on the other side of the house next door to me. I have never personally met anyone with a bigger sense of entitlement than this woman. :ohwell:
Heather: DH fears that I'm having cognitive problems. I decided to eliminate alcohol as a reasonable step, and it has already made a huge impact for the positive. :flowerforyou:
Karen: You are not the only woman on earth that despises caviar. Add me to what I suspect may be a long list. My neighbor is an arrogant busybody who thinks she knows what is best for everyone and likes to boss others around. I think she is trying to bully me. I have been a Master Gardener for about 40 years. This requires taking classes offered by the County Extension Service and paying it forward by helping others. Lanette is also a Master Gardener.
Barbie: I hope you enjoy your new collection of Iris. I also hope that you get good new neighbors. :flowerforyou:
M in Oz: Stay safe in the storms that seem to be headed your way. Congratulations on all of your walking and stair climbing.
Rita: I love the cartoon!
Carol in GA: My day is going well. Thank you! :flowerforyou:
Sue B Dew: I take both D3 and once weekly alondrate, and have done so for a few years. My D3 is at a higher dose than your doctor recommended, but we live in the PNW, which doesn't get as much natural sunshine as TX. I suspect you will be pleased with both. Alondrate requires that you take it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, with 2 or more cups of water, and sit upright for 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything else. My bone density has improved from my initial bone density scan as verified by a second bone density scan about a year ago.
Lisa: CONGRATULATIONS on getting a huge donation for the Girl Scouts!!!!!!!!!!
Penny: I remember part of that state names song. I don't sing unless I'm alone--It is better for everyone that way.
We have a pretty sunshiney day, and I'm feeling much better than when I woke up. It really helped my mood to have immediate support from the homeowners Association President, who told the busybody neighbor to leave my plants alone.

A few recent pics:
The giant amaryllis is incredible, one of the hidden treasures at the new house:
My studio, finally set up, in the guest bedroom with the best light - first the fabric stash:
The sewing cabinet - which needs a whole wall, as it's six feet long when opened up:
And my art corner, so when I get the urge to paint, I can just walk in and start. Got a blank canvas ready to go!
When I need to cut fabric, I use the same table, just clear all the art stuff off and hope there's no wet paint!
This is what I spent my day off doing - straightening out my office and getting my studio set up. If you look next to the window in the second photo, I've got all the squares ready for a full-size, technicolor log-cabin pattern quilt--just have to sit down and get them all bound together!
Glad to be back among the living. Thinking of you all...
Lisa, happily settling into Arkansas

Well done Lisa! And your studio looks well-organized and ready to go.
I am also on the Do Not Go There list with fish eggs, no matter what fancy name someone rebrands them with. LOL
I was down two pounds this morning from my fast day yesterday. That's one pound of fat burnt off as the other pound is just ordinary food in the system weight. As soon as I eat, that pound will reappear. I am fasting again today. It's such an easy way for me to drop a bunch of fat. I worked out with weights and kettlebell this morning and I will be dog walking after work today and then have a student coming after school to ride and horse around with. That will keep my hands out of the cookie jar.
My husband has been losing weight now that he is no longer confined to his desk for 8 hours of the day. He has also been really enjoying the healthy veggie-based meals I've been making for him. I made him a bacon and cheese (all veggie protein) pizza last night and he went back for seconds and told me it was delicious! Wendy7 -

Evening ladies.
Boy is it warm. Just in from helping hubs transplant the plants we are taking to our new home from the ground to pots. These are plants we planted in the rental and grew with tender loving care. When we arrived all there were was overgrown bushes. By establishing them in pots over the next 3 weeks till we move we hope to keep them alive and well till they find their new home! I have several hanging plants which I'm not sure what to do with as the new patio isn't set up for them. May be able to hang on front patio and then invest in some shepard's hooks. So looking forward to getting back to gardening!
Down 2 pounds since watching my carbs. Still not back to my lowest but on my way. Lesson learned: keep to your macros and keep moving! I've learned so much in the last year about this body!
Going to grab a book and read for a bit.

LOVE, LOVE AND LOVE THIS!!!! I would tell my son that if he did not respond to my texts or emails or phone calls I was going to call the campus police...he started responding promptly.

Katlia-thank you for your response to my post. I hate to take meds but think it is time as I am getting older. I need to do a search on google to check the side effects and if it affects the kidneys. I don’t think my MD would prescribe it if it did.
Lisa- great job on the weight loss and the grant writing.
Today was day one for me of logging and clean eating and MFP says I didn’t eat enough. Grrrrrrr
Count me as a no caviar person. When we were in Russia they fed us vodka and caviar and I didn’t eat either one.

I have never weighed raw vegetables and today I decided to since I am sticking to a strict Keto diet. I found out that I have been under estimating the amount I should be eating. Good for my low carb diet but I definitely liked finding out I get to eat much more extra food!
Caviar I have never and will never try that or raw sushi dishes.
