Lisa in AR: I love the photos of your new home. It looks lovely and comfortable. I hope you love it there.
Wendy: It is great to hear that your DH appreciates your cooking. Perhaps being away from his desk will turn him into a happier person.
bwvetc: I love, What parents think when you don't answer your phone.
Sue: My German neighbor when I was a child called me Katia. You brought back a good memory of a nice lady. :flowerforyou: (My name here, KATLA, is a mix of my first name and my last name.)
DH bought me the cutest little rototiller as a Mother's Day present, but it is too big to use in my limited flowerbeds so I planned to send it back. The UPS pick-up store is closed. Some kid learning to drive a car drove right through their front window. Last year, a kid learning to drive hit my parked car in the Fitness Center parking lot. Watch out everyone--it is crazy teenaged driver time in America! It is true in my area, and I'm betting it is true in many other places as well.

Katla, I loved hearing about about your getting a rototiller for Mothers' Day, My gift will be 2 cubic yards of of bark mulch---this is nothing like the things I see in the stores as suggested gifts (orchids, candy, fussy cards).5

Penny, Arkansas is home to much of the Ozark Mountains, truly a beautiful area filled with lakes, rivers and springs. Love it.

Well had a nice dinner with eldest son. We went to his townhouse about 5 minutes away, brought empty boxes for him, and picked up him and another big box full of his stuff. Keep this up he will only have his furniture come the end of the month to rent a uhaul for. He didn't want us going into his townhouse, so I'm guessing his roommate that hates us is home. You know the roommate that has been sponging off my son for 2 years now. And he wonders why he gets bad vibes from us! His arrangement to have a couple move in when our son moved out had fallen thru, so not sure what that manchild is going to do! When we stressed to our son once, (when he was trying to tell us his roommate was going thru a rough patch), of all the rent money, part of the utilities, that he could of saved if only his roommate had pulled his own weight. That made him think. In our sons eyes, he was paying the rent anyways, and the utilities came out of his paycheck automatically so what was the problem.
I made kielbasa sausages and zucchini, and pork pot stickers for son and he inhaled it! For my husband it was 4 pieces of bacon, three scrambled eggs and toast. I had two pot stickers, and three slices of kielbasa. I did good!
I think I used more plates, pans and items fixing this meal, and had to play puzzle loading the dishwasher!
Take care everyone!

{{{{{KAY@}}}}} - Losing a grandchild is hard - step-daughter lost her child at the age of 12; awful! Now we have not heard from her in 11 years. Has a child by present husband. Not since Louis' mother passed away. The only way we can look at this 'estrangement' is to tell ourselves they were transferred overseas and their plane went down. It hurt to think she does not want us in their lives when we don't really 'know' the reason ... can only 'assume'; but, you know what that does ... @$$ U Me. One day? But, I doubt it.
Love the bling on the boot!
R Can Saw - I sometimes find it difficult not to 'correct' people (Mother used to do it to me all the time, she was English/Lit/Grammar teacher). Then my middle GD corrected her Mother over the pronunciation of "Salmon"; now they have a commercial about "Almonds" ... I'm the guy jumping out of the car - or maybe 'pushed' out of the car. Haven't watched it close enough to tell. English, unless you've grown up speaking it all your life is probably the hardest language to learn correctly; but, I think we say that about any foreign language - even 'sign language. My niece did not learn it until the summer before she went to Gallaudet. BnL just did not want to admit that she was deaf. When she was little her hearing aid was worn on a harness; with earplugs. Sometimes Mother or Daddy would stroll her uptown and someone would stop them to talk; when Lynn got tired of it, she'd just pull the earplugs out and set them on the tray in front of her. One way to quickly end a conversation.
Rori - How have the volcano eruptions affected y'all's property in Hawaii or have you already sold it. That isn't eve the island where the tourists go to see the active volcano is it? I thought that was on an outlying island. Saw a time-lapsed picture of it - somewhere (today). Nasty looking - like a burnt marshmallow.
I'd love to have more irises. I have several scattered around in my large bed - wish I had the where-with-all to dig up all plants and plan the layout better. I thought surely they had been killed by all the cold weather we had over the winter; so I really just did not look at the bed much; but, surprise - surprise. Louis moved the farm truck and I bet I had 20 or more blooming. Mostly the white and yellow ones. I still have not seen the ones my BF gave me bloom and not real sure which fan(s) they are. She did say they were late bloomers. I have one pink one, one blue and white speckled one (that hasn't bloomed - or I missed it).
Well, been off Nexium for about a month - not nearly the heartburn; but, still have to have the tube down the nose and into throat (swallow) ... Brandy is supposed to call Thursday to schedule that test; then, she will schedule a time for the procedure to treat Barrett's Esophagus. UGH! I am sure since they are going to have to put me into 'twilight' I will have to go through that 'clean my body out'. Already I have noticed a change in my BM - and not all that pleasant.
Had to have a ring and 2 guards cut off today. Louis could not understand 'why I would have needed to do so'. Because, Louis, my knuckle is larger than the base of my finger by at least 1/2 size and I have tried everything to get them 'off'. Finger swelling and worst after trying to get them off. Jeweler said to keep it hydrated and then we can go back and check the size again. Definitely cutting into my finger. Of course, Louis has a permanent indention from his wedding band; and it used to have a pattern. No longer - it is smooth now. Ordered a birthstone ring and it is an 8; but, I will need to have them put that expander in so it will be a 7 1/2 once I get it on. Was going to give the aquamarine birthstone ring that my grandmother bought all the granddaughters when they turned 14 to my oldest granddaughter; I wear it on my pinkie finger; she couldn't even get it on her finger. Too big for a pinkie and too small to wear on ring finger. Maybe one day she will want it. I've come to the conclusion that maybe neither my sons nor my granddaughters willl want anything we have that is so important to me. Surprisingly, my DDnL#1 took a bowl and pitcher I had made in ceramics when I was a teenager when I put it aside to put into a garage sale and hasn't gotten rid of it. There have been other things they have gotten that they either gave away or let the dogs chew up. Suzanne gave me a hooked rug that Mimi made that no longer went with anything in her house. I need to look at it again and figure out where I might be able to use it. Taylor was afraid that Knox would do the same thing that Luna has done to one of the two rugs that Trey and Jennifer got from Mimi. My DDnL#2 has already said that she would love to get Mimi's Hoosier kitchen cabinet; they'll just need to have a wall to put it on.
Chairs will be going to the Salvation Army, since they are the only charity that actually works hard at finding people who need donations. My BF said she has checked on non-profits and so many of the donations go to 'overhead'. I'll donate to Shriners or St. Jude's; but, other than that - I don't even let them finish their spiel.
Well, have found a 'shake' at GNC that tastes like the ones I have been getting at the MD's office. Need to find a protein bar that I like. I got 2 protein bars that the guy said was their best sellers; but, it is larger and 70 more calories. I guess I will see if 1/2 of one will satisfy my 'treat' at night. Got 4 flavors (4 to a pack) and it was buy one, get one for 1/2 price. The other day I bought a 4-pack of Protein Premier. Put them in fridge and then opened one - thinking it was vanilla. Surprised that it was actually caramel. I think I was so surprised that I wasn't sure if I like it or not. At GNC - they let me taste one. Normally they keep some in the fridge for people to try; but, he had to give me a sip at room temperature - tasts exactly like thee ones I have been getting, although I have not bought any in several months. For $1 - you can get a full print-out about weight, height, BMI, and %'s of things. I did not have my glasses on, so I did not see that feature and could have gotten that, too. I weigh 20lbs more than BF; but her BMI is way up over mine. We both need to lose a minimum of 10lbs to get down to the weight that would get us back to a normal BMI; but, she doesn't exercise at all. At least I will get up on my treadmill (even though I would rather be knocked upside the head. Can't wait for the pool to be repaired; but, I have said that already.
Mackla - Praying your DH continues improving and that PT and/or OT will help him a lot.
Welcome to all the 'newbies'; and much 'love' to the 'oldies but goodies'.

7:30 Saturday morning, while sitting at my laptop a flash of movement through the window caught my eye. Something was moving up our driveway past the gate to our lower lawn. By the time my eyes focused, all that I could see was a very long, thickly furred cat's tail. Pretty sure it was a mountain lion. It was probably headed down the game trail to the creek. After I told Joe, he got the shotgun out and fired off a blast down the driveway. He strung Christmas lights along the fence and plans to hang strings of tin cans and aluminum pie plates from tree branches around the lawn. Our house and small surrounding grassy area are fenced but the rest of the vertical acreage is heavily wooded and pretty wild. This was a strong reminder not to let the terriers out unescorted, not even in the fenced area. This afternoon on my way into town I saw a doe with two fawns. I guess I've never seen fawns before, was surprised at how very tiny they were. Hope Mr. Mountain Lion is long gone!
Machka tears of joy at the "he knows me" and "one bite at a time". So hopeful! Continued healing and strenghth intentions to you both. (((hugs))) Zwift sounds like a good strategy. Don't suppose you can use the rehab gym with your husband?
Karen in VA, Con VERY grats on your most excellent recertification. Hope the instructor's critique was a gentle comeuppance to help open the minds and improve the behaviour of the three young women. ;}not the only, add me to the list of those who can't stomach caviar. BLS/ACLS you are a health care professional?
Barbie great news about Jake! Now that he can mow, if he persists in his helpful vacuuming suggestions you can turn the task over to him for his expert attention OH I see, now he walks the dogs and you vacuum? :noway: Beautiful trail.
Sharon good to hear from you and that you are taking steps forward. Fingers Xd for Jason and sending "smarten up, get a clue!" vibes to HER.
Terry lovely bling! Some of those look antique?
Heather what a braw laddie your elder son is! What happy smiles hugging that BIG teddy bear.
Wendy hooray for your husband's new Sunday routine. Enjoy! Lucky pooches look pooped out!
Trish in OH "...but reading always wins out" Oh yeah.
pip beauteous pink May snow. Even more beauteous is the Golden with his/her sleeves rolled up
Michele your pool and patio... WOW! When does the party start?
Katla and Lanette what exactly has the sublingual B complex with B12 done for you? My last bloodwork showed B12 deficiency so I've been taking softgels, but don't know what difference I should notice
Rita your Chewie pic reminds me of Scooter hypnotizing us to "feed me now!" When that fails, he bonks the trash can with his forehead. Then our legs.
Penny polar bears and rifles, even scarier than Mr. Mountain Lion.
Rebecca, not only is that a tree, but THAT is a LADDER!!! [shudder]
Katla against your stated wishes your neighbor pruned your camellia bush on your property??? And the plant doesn't even adjoin her yard? So glad the HOA president took immediate action. Hope it effectively stops her NOW.
Kay (((hugs))). Very hard couple of days. Please give yourself permission to cry when you need to.
Janetr Thanks for the "...and my steps won't count" bellylaugh
Evelyn what is a sling truck?
Lanette Very successful TJ's run.persian cukes, tri color peppers, snap peas, all organic. Huge globe artichokes for $.99 apiece that cost $4 ea at our Brookings Freddie's. Case of mandarin/cranberry sparkling water, dog food and treats, tuna, pesto, walnuts, sourdough, pork tenderloin cutlets and even two tiny filets (for me!). Wine gal steered me to two European reds, look forward to tasting them soon. Two sixpacks of AF Clausthaler (one lager, one ale). Oh and 2 hunks of roquefort. Going through it so fast, next time I'll get 3!!! Got it all in one cart but needed big time help to load it all in the car.Really saves on the Fred Meyer bill, and normally carries me through two months, but oh gee, what a shame, will have to go to Medford in June semiannual full skin scan so might as well stop in at TJ's and Winco to top off the tanks I'm with your DH about the fish smell, not just cooking but canned too. ;}
Suebdew I'm back on weekly Alondrate (generic Fosamax) after a long hiatus because it tore up my throat and gave me acid reflux. It can really wreck your esophagus. While the instructions say to not eat or drink anything but the 8 oz of water before and after, my MD told me to eat a small piece of bread (I eat a small chunk of banana instead) and take my 1 tsp of cod liver oil (you can use olive or coconut oil too) before taking the alondrate. The bread/banana "opens the stomach" and the oil coast the throat. So far no problems.
Tricia Oh are you same as Trish in OH and Patceoh? LOVE the grand's dog, is s/he a wheaten or a doodle?
Dana your home and setting an neighborhood look lovely!
Lisa thanks for checking in, you were missed. con VERY grats on the grant. Love the timing AND your studio
Mary AZ add me to the have never and will never raw sushi list. Yuck.
Rebecca wherever Suki the brave cat is on that catwalk, it is somewhere you'll never find me!
Welcome Jen in TX, Page in NY, Sue in Western KY.

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday! A bit sore today; though not as sore as yesterday. I spent six hours total in my yard over the weekend, and I am feeling them all! lol I tried to NOT do much yesterday with the kids, but they wanted a walk so off we went. They were a bit upset that I took them the opposite way they wanted to walk, but I chose the more level path due to the fact that my ankles and knee were twinging from mowing the lawn and all of the squatting, kneeling etc. They still had fun. They always do. We made "discovery jars" as we walked. I gave each of the kids a clean plastic jar (like a peanutbutter jar, with label removed) and they filled it with nature "discoveries", like moss, pinecones, acorns, rocks, dandelions, fairy plants, etc. We found some morel mushrooms along the bikepath! Whoot! They didn't want any, so I got them all! They were small ones, so I am thinking in another week or so there should be some good sized mushrooms in the area. Some rain would help them along.
Dana, Janet, Lisa, Penny- After a couple of drives through Missouri and Arkansas last year, I was very impressed with the area. Absolutely beautiful country! I saw more of Missouri; only because when we were going through Arkansas we were driving in rain/storms most of the time. But I LOVE the hills, forests, and mountainous region we went through. I remember being just amazed at the sheer force that it must have taken to build roads through that rocky/mountainous terrain!
REbecca- Is Suki owned by a family in Asia? Those types of bridges are popular in that part of the world. They seem to be into putting a scare factor into their hiking trails.
Cheri and Beth- lol That graph! My kids always call/text me back; it's my husband! I don't worry that he is dead or injured. I know he is just being a non-social poop and ignoring my calls/texts. As I have said many times before; he was not spanked enough as a child!
Pip- Your tree and pink snow! Happy birthday Floyd! How did the ride go for Kirby?
Penny- Love the polar bear mural! I bet it was pretty untagged; but it is very cool after the fact, also. Might have been fun to see a untagged mama bear and a couple of tagged cubs behind her!
Barbie- Lucky you! Free flowers! I have often seen iris and daffodil growing wild on the sides of the road around here. I always wonder if I could just go and pull them up and replant them in my yard...I probably should/could. The road commission is getting very vigorous with mowing the shoulders of the road. That makes me mad because they are mowing down a lot of wild flowers and milk weed (which cuts down our monarch population immensely). Happy planting!
Hugs to all of the rest! Machka, as always, a special tight hug for you and your DH! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Did 5 minutes on the hula hoop. I’m still amazed that with my big hips it doesn’t stay up longer! Then held my plank for 3 minutes then took the extremepump class.
Yesterday I got Vince to put up the decorations in the downstairs bathroom. Nothing big, but I didn’t want to have to wait for years to get it done. Started on the diamond dotz for Jessica for christmas. I kept needling Vince about my mulch that I want for Mother’s Day (yes, that’s what I want). I suggested we measure to find out how much we need AND HE DID! Am I ever shocked!
Karen in VA – my welcoming pool welcomes anyone and everyone here. You can also see my ceramic “creations”. And now we will have mulch which is going to be my Mother’s Day gift. Yea! I’m working on these mushrooms right now that will go in the mulch (at least this year they will). I’m not crazy about caviar, either. I would prefer to not have it.
Pip – better get an extra big birthday cake!
Lanette – I honestly don’t think kids realize that prospective employers look at their facebook pages
Subdew – I’ve had osteoporosis for years. My advice? I’ve taken just about everything on the face of the earth. Haven’t taken forteo, tho. Continue getting the BDT. Yes, take the calcium and vitamin D supplements. Not every medication is for everyone so don’t be surprised if you need to change (I was on reclast and now I’m on prolia. The ones you take by mouth weren’t as effective for me. The injections are. See, the ones you take by mouth have to go thru the digestive system before they get to the bone. The injectable ones go right to the bone. Continue exercising, especially impact. It doesn’t have to be high impact. Weight training is very good too. Research which foods are high in calcium. The last time I went for my DBT, for the first time I was told that I have osteopenia. I’m not going to do a happy dance just yet. Guess I’m just afraid that the person reading the test made a mistake. I’ll rejoice if my next BDT shows that I’m ostopoeniac (is that a word?) again. After taking it for something like 5 years, you’re supposed to take a break from it.
Carol – I agree with Rebecca. The school had to have SOMETHING they could have given your gd
Lisa – big congrats to you on that win
A friend got 5 pounds of beets for free so she gave some to me. Well, last night I tried to roast them. As I took them out of the bag, I knew why she got them for free. Oh well….I just won’t tell her that I honestly had to throw them out.
Beth – love what you send to your son and so appropriate. They just don’t think
Barbie – gee…we’re getting the same Mother’s Day gifts!!! Last year my gift was getting the trees trimmed. A far cry from what the stores/commercials say you should get. One year Vince had the kids make me breakfast in bed. I absolutely hated it. I hated being away from them that I asked him never to do that again. I know his heart was in the right place, but I didn’t enjoy it one bit. I would have enjoyed it if the kids had stayed in the room with me, tho
Lenora -I was thinking of the eruptions in Hawaii and thinking of Rori. Jess couldn’t take her Tone It Up protein shake with her, so I took the chocolate. It’s honestly something that you really need to get used to since TIU doesn’t have any sugar in it (or sugar substitute). But then again, I remember the first time I had shirataki noodles, I was thinking it would be like spaghetti. But the texture is so different. But now I prefer shirataki to regular spaghetti. I’m sure it’ll be the same way with the TIU shake. I’m just going to take it slow at first, use ½ a scoop at a time and mix it with something that I like (like applesauce)
Barbara – how scary! Everyone is welcome to come over to swim and see my ceramic “creations”. I don’t mind having multiple parties, either. Actually, Vince said it’s supposed to be 90 on Mother’s Day so guess where I’ll probably be??????
Steve came her last night. I didn’t have anything for dinner since I wasn’t sure what time he’d get here so we just went to Red Lobster. I was pretty good, dessert was a cup of tea, had the grilled shrimp and broccoli, only ½ of their biscuit, water to drink, some of the salad (after sending it back to request no croutons or cheese be put on it. I didn’t know but probably should have guessed that it came on it). Not sure what we’ll do tonight. Vince has Newcomer shooting and since he missed last time because we were helping Jess, he feels he should go this time. Normally, he would just skip it. So Steve and I may go out. But I did make a banana bread and got this ice cream cookie (never saw that) since I know Steve likes ice cream.
Did Amy Dixon’s Breathless Body DVD. That one’s pretty good. The plan for tomorrow is to do a DVD for the bosu since we have a Newcomer general meeting.

Good morning! Another day for me to try to figure out who's who and what's going on here.
As far as the irises (they were irises right?), I had tiger lillies one year I had to clear out and just threw them in the ravine in the back yard. Needless to say, I had an orange ravine until the year I moved out.
Michele in NC, a three-minute plank is fantastic! I'm at two minutes and it honestly feels as long as my workday. Also, you propagate mushrooms in mulch? I'm a mushroom freak and forage chantarelles at a secret place (of course) in the Catskills--only have to share it with like 50 eastern europeans. Gotta get up in the dark to be the first one out there.
Did a 5k run last night which was my fastest pace in years, and hit the gym at 5:15 this morning since I have to work late tonight, but still have time for a dinner out at an Indian restaurant which I love. Not the best day to skip a workout.
Carpe Diem all!7 -
Lisa - well done on the fantastic grant! And your studio/sewing area looks perfect. Are your GS duties back to sticking around home base for a while?
Dana - what a pretty neighborhood. How long did you and your DH have to look before finding such a gem? And what drew you to Arkansas from Texas?
Barbara AHMOD - YIKES on the big pussycat! I researched them when we had the farm and some lambs came up missing due to some sneaky varmint that we determined was not a coyote. Apparently the big kitties are territorial and can have quite a range. Hopefully is ready to leave your neighborhood for a long time and head off to greener pastures for some yummy bunnies way off yonder.
Katla - thinking about your strange neighbor who prunes and waters and gets in your space .... I wonder if she has mental issues - she doesn't seem to recognize boundaries. I used to work with a gal like that - always made it a point to "fix" other people's stuff (that didn't necessarily need fixing!) but her own work product and cube and were a disaster area. When confronted about her annoying behavior, she'd explain she had OCD. Really? My DH said that was her way of being passive/aggressive. I hope the message your HOA prez sent to her does the trick. I'd like to peep in the windows of her house and see what it looks like in there. But that's just me.
SueBDew - I think the Vitamin D3 form is better than the D2 for your bones, you might want to research that.
Rebecca - bet your DS will be glad to get more of mom's home cooking on a regular basis! He has a good heart to let his roomie off the hook on paying his fair share, but sounds like it went on for far too long. Glad you are settling in on the island!
Kelly - the master gardeners here decided to grow Milkweed in various spots as Monarch "waystations". I grabbed a start from one of the beds a few years ago, and stuck it into one of our beds and it's doing well - spreads by roots traveling underground. So far have gotten the blooms every year and I LOVE the smell. Haven't seen any Monarchs yet but they might venture up this far at some point.
Heather - glad your heat wave is over for a while. We're set up for 85 this coming Sunday as well, then back into the 60's.
Was up at 2:30 this morning to go to the bathroom and older dog met me in the hall - she needed to go outside. So out we went - her tummy was upset and I had to wait for her to eat grass and wander around. Cows were mooing loudly next door and I could hear coyotes crying in the distance. Our new neighbors don't burn their porch lights at night so I could see the stars and planets pretty well for a change - no light pollution.
We live in a special place.
Have a good day!

Remodeling contractor coming this morning to give ballparks and guidance. Goals for kitchen remodel: propane for Aunt Elsie's stove, vent hood that exhausts to outside, new kitchen and laundry room cabinets with shelves I can reach, roll out shelves and corner lazy susan in base cabinets, replace peninsula with baking center, remove/repair any mold in floor under sink, new double (undermount?) sink and (quartz?) countertops, (vinyl plank?) flooring in dining room/kitchen/laundry with baseboards, repair/replace windowsills, paint, light fixtures. Get rid of electric stove, dishwasher, keep fridge. Explore future possibilities of replacing drivewayside deck/changing slider to new "front" door, replacing and extending oceanside deck to along MBR, with roofed/sheltered area for hot tub, changing MBR window to be french doors out to tub area, changing current "front" door to let in more light, re-pipe house for bathroom facelifts. That's the wish list. The reality is we may need a new roof which will take priority and mean we can't afford to update anything, not even in phases, until we refinance, if we can.
KJ I really want to be one of your daycare kids. What are fairy plants? Morels, what a discovery!
Heather have I thanked you lately for the AF beer inspiration? So far my favorite (and least caloric) is Kaliber from Guinness, but both Clausthalers from TJ's are good too. Not a fan of the AF St. Pauli Girl, nor the O'Douls. Haven't tried the AF wine yet. If you'd told me last month I'd be AF 6 days out of 7 and happy about it, I'd still be laughing!
Enjoy the day, lovelies!

Just lost my post! Grrrrrrrrrr!
Barbara - I love my AF beers too. My favourite is made in Scotland and only 26 calories. I also am AF 6 days a week. I had a de-alcoholised wine delivered today. I'm not holding out great hopes, but I'll try it. It's a Torres red. I also love the San bitters and the Crodino as aperitifs, but my very favourite is Seedlip Garden. Calorie free! Very expensive though. I'm not missing alcohol at all.
I've just got back from running 6k in the heat. I chose a shady lane, but it's still 82° in the shade. My first time that distance. I'm hoping to work up to 10k.
Had my yoga friend to lunch. My friend I saw yesterday texted me to say she has just resigned from her new part time divorce lawyer job. "Just can't do it any more". She is 69.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx6 -

Machka tears of joy at the "he knows me" and "one bite at a time". So hopeful! Continued healing and strenghth intentions to you both. (((hugs))) Zwift sounds like a good strategy. Don't suppose you can use the rehab gym with your husband?
Thanks!
I've been crying tears of joy ... and having small meltdowns just from the stress of the whole thing ... then more tears of joy. Very emotional in the last week or so.
They do have a pretty decent-looking treadmill I was tempted to try, but other than that, most of the stuff there is pretty rehab-specific. However, once he gets into the rehab unit, I want to check out their gym!
Long day ... hospital, work, hospital, and this evening I finished another assignment for university. Bed now!

Osteoporosis and weight?
I was just thinking, if you lose bone density, that affects your lean mass weight, doesn’t it?
I was wondering because my mother, who had osteoporosis (she was taller than I when I left for college and considerably shorter than I in my college graduation pictures - but I didn’t get any taller) weighed at the end of her life about exactly what I do now.
But she was wearing size 14 clothing that I have been giving away. I’m wearing size six or eight. Her body shape was similar (extremely small waist, hips, thighs and later in life stomach where the fat seemed to settle) but I was alway shocked at how little she actually weighed when she was quite well padded (to be polite).
Could bone density be part of the lower scale weight to ‘overweight’ appearance?

Machka9 - Continued progress for DH is very encouraging.
Michelle - I picked up some Protein Premier (ready made), thinking it was 'vanilla'; poured it in a glass once it got cold and it was caramel. I like caramel; just a little disappointed since I wanted to find something more similar that I have gotten from my Nutrionalist. Yesterday, went to GNC and found some that really tasted the same. Got 4 4-packages (vanilla, strawberry, banana cream, and orange cream. Got 2 protein bars which he said was their best seller. Maybe I will get a chance to eat one (or 1/2 one - they are bigger than the ones I got from Nutrionalist. They are about 4 ounces more; but, with the same calories and more protein. I did not want to buy the powder because any time I try to 'mix or blend it' it always has a gritted taste to me.
By the way - what exactly is the 'green room'' you are always talking about?
Where did you get your hula hoop? One bought at any store will be too light and small to ever stay up on an adult. I made mine out of 5 feet of 3/4th inch diameter black sprinkler tubing with one double ended (male) connection, and duct tape to cover. I put about 1/2 cup of water down into the tube, connect the ends together, then wrap it in duct tape. I use the bright colored or patterned duct tape. You should wrap it twice. Don't worry that the duct tape is wrinkled, that is just the way it will be. It'll be hard to keep up at first; but, with practice you will be able to do it with pretty good results. Warning: It WILL bruise your sides ... don't be surprised. Lay it flat when you are finished with it so it won't get lopsided.
We're having warm weather and dry! We're hoping that they can cut the trees before we lose too many more. I need to get my butt up and finish straightening the house.
Chow!
