    Didn't get to do the hike after all, had to clean up the damage from the windstorm we had on Friday. Met up with a friend for dinner and we went for a walk... a very long one. ;)

    Newbie here. I really need some motivation to get my steps in. I’m going to be walking a 10K on July 4, so I need some encouragement to train!

    Am gonna jump in and start to keep myself motivated. Normally can hit 10K+ steps during weekdays no problem, but struggle at the weekend :D

    I just activated my Garmin ViViFit3 & started walking consistently on Monday 4/30.....I did great Mon, Tues & Weds!! I woke up early and would walk to the store rather than drive for whatever my girls & blind father needed for the day. However, Thursday I had to go to my clinic appointment which took longer than expected because I now only have to go once per month, and by the time I got home my girls were awake. There was an extreme heat advisory & with our Asthma I didn't want to risk it.
    Friday, I wanted to make up for Missing Thursday; I walked over 10K for the 1st time EVER & felt so motivated, I decided to do a leg/booty workout listed on my 7M app, which was FULL of squats, lounges, side steps, etc & I went to an old abandoned & demolished building next to my apartment complex and stacked cinderblocks up to use as my 'steps'.......needless to say, I pulled/aggravated muscles in my legs to the point I could NOT move/walk.
    Fresh Week, FRESH START!!!

    You sound like you have a lot going on in your life, I hope that you have help. Where are you that you had an extreme heat advisory? We had a few days last week in the 90's but it was very low humidity so it didn't feel bad.
    I wouldn’t sweat not hitting 10k every day, not with your schedule but what you could try doing especially if you have difficulty with the heat is walk in place. I screwed up on Sunday and should have done that but just wasn’t thinking. I also have a step board that I use to use to get my steps in. Which I’m going to set it back up so I can do that while I watch TV.

    Lastly, please be careful in those abandoned and demolished building’s that is a good way to get hurt bad. No one wants to see that happen especially those that are depending on you.

    I work a desk job M-F & take hourly stairs breaks (3 floors). My goal is average 12,000 steps / day. I'm a walker, not a runner. Next race 6/9/18 10K. Workplace Step Challenge 4/16 - 8/31 & prizes at halfway point + end for top 30 women = I want a prize!
